I've been shopping here for more than 21 years and I know most of the greeters by name. Imagine the tens of thousands of dollars of have spent at this location over the years. I did some shopping for my son's Super Bowl party. I got a case a beer and a swifter to clean the floor. You never know with SB parties. There are a total of zero cashiers so I checked myself out. I did have to flag an associate to clear me for buying the case of beer. I bagged my groceries and left the case of beer and the Swifter in the cart. Fatma was the greeter / checker on duty. She knows me and my family. Today she decided to ask me for my receipt. Why would I risk my livelihood for a case of Corona and Swifter? To ask me for my receipt was insulting especially since she knows I'm a regular customer. I let her know my displeasure and welcome a response from the Store Manager. If Walmart is going to be like Costco and check the receipts then staff the store with cashiers. Lastly, what if I had decided to have my receipt texted to my phone or email the receipt to my email. What would have been the procedure them? Show Fatma my phone with my information ? Ridiculous Walmart do better. read more

I shop at this store a lot. Usually it's great. Today it was horrendous due to staff. There was a woman at the door trying to argue with me that I couldn't take my empty 5 gallon jug with me shopping. I told her I do that so people know it's an exchange and I'm not trying to get a whole new one. She became upset and said I HAD TO put it in the replacement cage. I told her I would as I'm leaving and she said I needed to do it right. I went shopping and no other employee seemed to have issue with it. What was extremely unpleasant were the 2 employees who almost mowed me down with their big carts they use to gather groceries for orders. Twice! And no apologies. Just almost hit me going super fast around the corners and a snarl like it was my fault. Sad that the current crew seems so unfriendly. May need to go elsewhere from now on. read more

My wife and I have been shopping at WalMart for years and we love it. Sure the face there arent as many checkers open as their used to be isn't great, and some of the employees are not wonderful at CS, but Im sure its not their fault. None of those things are what I want to talk about today. Forget Krispe Creme and try Wal-Mart doughnuts. When my wife and I first saw these in the store, we thought, surely they won't be good. I don't like Krispie Creme because they are way too sweet. So I thought, why not give them a try? I can taste the dough and not just sugar! I had an incident where I did a drive up to pick up my groceries. When I drove away I noticed a strong fragrant smell. The smell got stronger and I suffered an allergic reaction. I realized that all my bags of food had this oil substance inside and all over my food. It was a clear sticky substance with a chemical so strong it smelled up my whole garage. I reported incident within 15 minutes and returned the groceries. This oil left a stain and fragrance in the back seat of my new car. The claims department after months denied my claim saying there is no evidence that this was done by them. Yea right. What idiot would do this to their own car. I will never shop at Walmart again. Y'all's secret shopper security lady (with the brown hair to her shoulders, older) is sooo bad at her job you should fire her. She was so far up my butt with her cart when I stopped to look at something she almost hit me. Then she scrambled to circle around with a random item in her cart. Multiple times I looked at items (put them in my cart or not) then turned around and she was there wide eyed looking at me then darting her head down and trying to get away from me. It was so comical at some point I walked by her and said "girl you need to be better at your job." Truly embarrassing work. I didn't even enter an area of small items to pocket (not that my bottoms have pockets on them anyway). The first place I was looking was huge boxes of glass kitchen containers. She is some lady who clearly does not understand cultural boundaries of Americans who expect to be generally trusted after being watched every step of the process to buy their groceries. The employees, the few they have, are great. A young man stocking the cereal pleasantly helped me find the cereal I wanted in the vast cereal aisle, and the greeter Fatima is so friendly and helpful, telling my Mom, who said she needed to learn to use the scooter some day, that she would be happy to instruct her the next time she came (we were leaving). However, we were there on Saturday, and most of the shoppers had full carts and were by themselves, and there was only one non-self-service stand with a checker in it. They should have more checkers on the busy shopping days. My mom is recovering from a broken hip and using a walker, and she can't shop alone if she has to use the self checkout. read more

Walmart's going down really fast and it's no wonder. They're doing a lot of bait and switch BS and it's getting harder and harder to find anybody out on the floor to help you. Several times recently I've tried to get help and they refused to help me at all. It's no wonder they have to close their stores at midnight nowadays and don't have much staff. Their prices are going up though I've noticed. I can shop at WinCo for less than Walmart and it used to be the other way around. Everything is out of China it seems. Don't have a lot of positive things to say about Walmart anymore. And I used to work at this location and loved it. Today's experience I went in to get some cupcakes for a barbecue I was going to and saw the display table covered with cupcakes. There were small packages marked at $1.84 and big packages with no prices but a big sign right over them that said $3.98. So a normal person would figure that the big package with no price would be the item that is $3.98 right? Grab them go to check out, nope. Almost $6. Apparently there's a little tag attached to the bottom part of the table that's pricing them at this higher price. There was nothing on that table to match that $3.98 that I could find so I left 'em. I went back to the store within 15min and was told they will not refund/return any personal products.. they said that I can bring it back after the Covid issue and they will refund it then... I know $7 does not seem like a lot of money. I have been unemployed for 3 weeks still not unemployment check and can not find a job that will pay the bills..... Walmart does not care how you are doing they only care about what they want. The box was not opened and like I said it had been 15 min. thanks for making me go spend another 7 dollars to fix a mistake..... Reviewer # 14 Walmart is Walmart... in the lyrics from Britney Spears "....baby what you see is what you get". It's a hit or miss. Will you get friendly people? Short (manageable) lines? Shelves stocked? For the most part this Walmart, and many in our area, do a really good job at all of the above--imo. They have a Burger King inside, which is not the normal go-to place to eat while you're at Walmart, but hey-- nothing better than shopping with a Fruit Loop or Lucky Charm Shake, right??? Good prices at Walmart-- albeit lower at Winco, but you can get just about anything you need while you're shopping here. I've found the Automotive Service department to be friendly and hard working, but don't expect to have updated auto material on new cars. I bought a 2017 car 6 months ago and the tail light went out. What bulb do I need I asked, but they didn't have updated manuals not did the machine have 2017 in the system... 7 months into the year. Avoid! There has been only one cashier in the entire building the las few times I've shopped here. Every single time there is a line of five people waiting and others in self checkout. I contacted corporate only to be told they would contact the store manager. I went to do groceries yesterday and again there was only one cashier and I asked her why because there was a line of people. The cashier told me that it was store policy to have only one cashier and Walmart was trying to get customers to use 'self-checkout' in particular people shopping a bunch of stuff. Do yourself a favor and go to WinCo or elsewhere. read more

I was unfamiliar with the orange tower pick up thing and when I needed the help employee Deanna was there to guide me through. She was the most helpful person and knew customer service. Easy review, the security team treats loyal customers as though they are thieves, with a "sic em" attitude, especially when the customer is disabled and doesn't follow the cookie cutter image this Walmart seems to have of the ideal customer. We don't shop much at Walmart in Portland, but when we visit Jesse's family in Boise, we come here for grocery and such. I must say, this is the most organized and clean Walmart I've ever been to. They have everything here from salon, cell phone kiosk, family portrait studio, and even place where you can cash your checks. I found out they sell Horchata in cartons at the refrigerated juice department. I've never seen that before. That's pretty awesome. Also, they have Churros cereal. We didn't get any, but life will never be the same knowing I can eat churros in form of cereal for breakfast. Combine the churros cereal with Horchata, I wonder if my day will be fantastico and faboulouso? read more

I knew that Fred Meyers price was $.98 per pound. I showed the cashier, Mary the advertised price of Fred Meyers on my phone and I asked if she could match the price. I was going to get a few big bags if they would. She told me that their prices were low enough and that they don't care what other stores charged. Really great response. She was quite rude for the rest of my transaction. A little bit of kindness would go a long way. I think I will just go to the Walmart on Tenmile and Fred Meyers for my produce. read more

I too, love that all the staff I just interacted with earlier tonight, were masked up!! hugely important to my husband & me, as seniors who really can't afford to get sick anymore! My reason for this yelp, however, is to sing the praises of the 2 employees who helped me so much earlier in the evening at the Walmart gas station & Convenience store ~ I was headed in to look for a parking spot in the store lot so I could get in and do a big list of shopping....when I noticed that my gas gauge was getting low so I swung into the gas station which had plenty of open spots.....I always have trouble getting the doggone gas cap off in my Saturn SUV.....so I put on my mask & went inside the C. store to see if an employee could help me.....it was just a lovely woman named Kate who right away went outside with me to help & promptly got the dang thing open. So, I filled up, paid & when back in the seat turned the key to start the engine.....NOTHING...ZIP.....not a sound.....dead as a door nail battery!!! After trying everything I could think of, I called my hubby & he said he'd grab the charger thing he has & head over to try to start it.....while waiting I went into the store & bought a Chef Salad bowl, some yogurt & thanked KATE again for her cheerful helpfulness...went to the car & ate my salad till my hubby arrived.....he hooked up the charger & no luck....we waited & waited & then I went in to tell Kate what our problem was & found that she had been replaced by another employee, a super nice young man, named THERENCE! I explained that the car was locked in "PARK" so we couldn't push it away from the pump I had used to fill it. I went to use the ladies room (which btw, was VERY nice & CLEAN.....a wonderful surprise for a C. Store public restroom!) By the time I came back out, I noticed that hubby had pushed to car to very near the front door of the store.....I went right out, happy that we just had to push it into a parking spot out of the way. Unfortunately.....I wasn't enough help to push it up the slight grade to the desired parking place.....so I went in to ask THERENCE who was busy mopping the floors in the store.....if he could help....he didn't hesitate....we went out & both pushed from the back as hubby pushed with the driver's side door open so he could steer it with his right hand as we moved.....got it done in no time at all & thanked that wonderful young man so much!! Which is my purpose tonight.....if anyone from the Fairview & Records Store in Meridian, Idaho, reads this....PLEASE know that you have a couple of EXCELLENT Good Samaritan employees out in your gas station Convenience Store there!! And let them know how much we appreciated their helpful kindness to a couple of old seniors with a bum auto!! I went to Walmart for grocery shopping this morning. As usual, the battery I needed was out-of-stock at the front of the store, so I went to the automotive section. I could see the battery needed in the locked display, but there was only one cashier helping another customer. I waited 5 minutes before asking if there was someone else who could help me, as it was apparent the other customer would be there much longer. I was told "no" there was no one else who could help me. I explained that I only needed a battery, but the cashier just walked off, ignoring me. At this point, I left my groceries and went elsewhere. I have found that my money spends just as well elsewhere. UPDATE: Received a phone call from Walmart apologizing for the lack of service. Will give them another chance. read more

She knew I was trying to find items in this area yet moved herself over but left large cart right where I was trying to look. I asked if I could move her cart. Not rude or demanding, just a request. I see walmart as a necessary evil... their prices are so low that my budget cries a little if I go somewhere else for some things. Like childrens' clothing and shoes- they outgrow things so quickly that it makes sense to get the basics cheaply at walmart. Some basic food stuffs are crazy cheap, and some things are better to get at Winco or Freddies. This one, and the Nampa location, always seem to be much cleaner and well organized- as opposed to the Overland location, which is typically trashed. They have surprisingly good produce, but I have been unimpressed with the meat and the bakery departments. Still, I don't care for the way I've seen the employees treated- I've seen them berated publicly by managers, which is just rude and uncalled for. Necessary evil... read more

Seem very unhappy to be there, almost like it's a hassle for them to help you. This WalMart SUCKS! I went to the garden center on a Sunday afternoon and purchased 6 bags of bark. They had at least 4 people standing around "directing traffic" and one poor checker who was new to her job. I waited for at least a half hour to have someone come and load the mulch into the back of my car, which was parked directly outside the garden center. However, I got tired of waiting and told them I would have someone come back, (with the receipt) and pick up the bags of mulch. On Monday, I had my neighbor go to this WalMart location to pick up the bags of mulch. They gave my neighbor nothing but a hard time. Said, "she should have picked this up on the day she purchased it". EXCUSE ME!! Everyone was either busy or standing there with their finger in their left ear. My neighbor decided he'll go to the Nampa, ID WalMart because the people at that store, don't act like the "world owes them a living". Today, Monday, when I was able to contact the Asst Manager, the "real manager" had gone home for the day, she said she would be happy to help, but that she needed to know "which WalMart associate gave me bad service. As if she thinks this is really a code for "which WalMart associate should I fire?? I HATE the WalMart stores, all of them in the Treasure Valley, with the exception of the Nampa store. The worst customer service in their auto department. We ordered 4 tires on a Wednesday, was told they would be in on Thursday. I get turn around time, sometimes deliveries take long than expected. I called on Saturday, still no tires. Finally Sunday morning, I get the call that the tires on in. Take my car in at 12pm. The department team member said it would take about an hour and half and they would call. Ok great. FOUR HOURS later, still no call that my car was finished. I go back down, and low and behold be car was done. I asked when the car was finished and it was finished TWO HOURS after dropping it off. Mind you, there was only ONE car there when I dropped off my car. I received no phone call letting me know my car was done. On top of that, they are ringing up people with full blown groceries and only have ONE person helping customers. The manager walked in, saw the line of people, stopped behind the desk, looked at us, then walked back outside to the shop. I will never bring my car back here again. I would rather pay more money and get better customer service than save a few hundred dollars. To think I thought the Walmart in California were bad... read more

Walmart fairview boise. Jim in electronics must have had a very important phone call at the checkout counter as I eventually gave up waiting after 10 minutes for him to even acknowledge my existence. The other employee was too busy fiddling with the volume on the tv's. Once done he disappeared into the back room. $200 bucks walked out the door.
