WinCo has some of the lowest prices compared to SafeWay, Albertsons, Fred Meyer. Their bulk foods section is well stocked and provides excellent value for dollar. They have a growing deli section and prepared foods such as take and bake pizza with a cauliflower crust. They are employee owned and care for their customers. read more

The prices are better than other stores on some items, and worse on other items, just like all grocery stores. Aisles are organized decently, and items are usually easy enough to locate without an aisle directory. Self checkout is limited to 10 items or less, and the regular checkout lanes take awhile to get through. Store does not accept credit cards, but does accept cash ebt and debit. Store has the feel of not being as clean as other retailers, between spilt product on the shelves and the concrete floor. Overall the biggest issue is the checkout process, between long waits and lack of taking credit cards. read more

This store is good for saving a little money on some items. They are more expensive on others. The store is large and has good variety, though their produce always seems a bit lower quality. I do like their bulk section. The problem is their checkout lines are long. The cashier didn't seem to know what was going on and was really struggling so we stood in a line that was not moving for twelve minutes before another check line opened up to help. The pan handlers always out front don't help with the look of the store either. Kind of feels unsafe. read more

Cashier Lisa at store #167 is the primary reason for me even going there. I am a Senior citizen and disabled. Not always does my day go well. Lisa has made the difference from just being nice. To a warm hug. I always go to her check out because of this. I get tired of unfriendly stores really quick. She is quick. Polite. Compassionate. Now, they have limited self checkout to 10 items and have Self Check Out Nazis who will not let you go if you have more...... this morning, there was literally NOBODY in self checkout and I was directed to an employee check line. I have been shopping at WinCo for over 40 years. Change is inevitable, but it's not for the better here (read the 3 pages of complaints on the BBB website). I don't think they've ever accepted credit cards to purchase groceries; no problem. About a year ago they stopped making change; inconvenient (apparently clerks can't count if the register doesn't tell them the appropriate amount). Now they've implemented a new debit system and no longer accept checks; that's a problem. Customer Service has never been a priority at WinCo, but this takes it to a whole new level. While I would give Winco 5 stars for most everything. I give them 3 stars for handicap parking. The handicap parking at the store on Fairview is rows o er on each side from the entrance. For those of us who cannot walk far, we need them to be in the front rows by the entrance. . It's silly to have handicap so far away from the entrance. I'm a big fan of Winco. If you want good variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, Winco is for you. Keep your expectations real, Winco is not a Trader Joe's or a Whole Foods, and for that, I am very grateful. Winco on Fairview is a left directed store, meaning that when you enter, you'll be forced to turn left down their deal aisle before reaching the produce section. Please take a moment to check their alternative food section, as you find some tofu and Follow Your Heart products. On the whole, this section needs to have more items as the trend is going more plant based. I would encourage Winco to look into Violife dairy-free and soy-free cheeses and Beyond Burger patties as well as Good Earth. The bulk bin is a great place to get Basmati rice or nuts, or even spices. Don't overlook that whole section. The deli and meat sections are typical and the frozen foods and meals are nothing special but the quality is good and preferred over some of the other stores and chains. Look for local Idaho products that are advertised, Falls Brand and others. We don't shop pet food, snacks, or sodas, so I can't comment on this items, but we frequent Winco every two weeks and spend about $180 on a full basket of healthy and fresh groceries. read more

I have been going to this store for almost a decade and will continue to do so. Enjoy saving money buying from the bulk bins. They don't have a great berry selection sometimes. Not a big selection on house hold items so go to Walmart or Target for your house do-dads. This store is for buying good quality food at a good price and I like it that way. My wife and I went and bought a bottle of wine, my wife didn't have her wallet on her and I showed my ID. The lady very rudely took the wine bottle from my hand and told us that she can't let us buy it and walked away without letting us even respond to her. Maybe this is a case of too much hype but...I wasn't impressed. This place is worshiped by some folks. Maybe not to the level of Trader Joe's, In-N-Out burger, or Apple products...but close. I thought it was OK. Food was cheap, but not THAT much cheaper than other budget places. The layout, however, was a....how you say..."Charlie Foxtrot". Cramped, disorganized, over-crowed. WELCOME TO THE THUNDERDOME! Beer selection was surprisingly above average. Get to the checkout and...argh, no credit cards! My credit card gives me 5% off groceries...but they don't accept it. I can use it at a place with a better layout and less CHAOS and probably pay similar prices. Glad I tried it, but I think I'm done with Winco for a while. read more

Winco Foods is a great place to shop, especially when you have a large family. There are 8 of us so the food a Winco, which is good quality, really stretches for us. They have bulk bins to help with cheaper costs, too, including things like noodles, gravy and other mixes, granola and even dog treats! They have a Deli which is good albeit I don't shop in too often. The blocks of cheese is super cheap! You get 2 pounds for about 4 dollars. This location seems to be cheaper than the others that I've been too as I think this is the busiest location. I prefer the downtown one just because I love downtown, but this one suits me just fine. You may have to park and walk a ways, but if you're okay with that, then you're all good. You do have to bag your own groceries, which I prefer. They don't accept credit cards. They save the money from both of these things and pass the savings onto the customers like you and me!!!! read more

There are some grocery stores that strive to offer their customer a stress free and convenient shopping experience (have a cup of coffee...oh, and we'll care for your children in this darling little play room while you shop...etc.). This, my friends, is NOT that type of store. Are their prices competitive? Oh...they're INCREDIBLE. In addition the stores are employee owned and by all accounts are an overall solid company to work for. Wonderful... However, as a consumer...every dang time I shop here, I walk out feeling vaguely homicidal. I don't know what it is precisely that makes me crazy about this particular WinCo (I say this, because I've been told the WinCo in Eagle is delightful). I think it's the level of organization, the overcrowded aisles, and the lack of quality, amongst other things that converge to make this my own personal Bermuda triangle. My chief complaint would be that the quality of both their produce and meat department (absolutely p*ss-poor!). Their fruits and veggies do not appear fresh and are generally bruised. Their meat (particularly their chicken) is horrific. Also, the quality of their generic brand is terrible (I get that it's generic and what can you expect...but there are stores that keep a relatively high standard in their generic--this is not one of them). Why even 2 stars? Because, in these economic times...their price is right. So...if you go there for basic packaged items (toothpaste, canned foods, chips, soda, boxed pasta etc...) you can't go wrong--they have all the main brands at incredible prices. Just steer clear of the produce and meat. Oh, and be prepared to bag your own groceries (this doesn't seem like a big deal at all, until you're standing there bagging with your desperately-in-need-of-a-nap toddler trying to make for the exit as your trying to figure out if you should put Windex in the same bag with the ice-cream...Seriously). read more

We have shopped a huge amount at WinCo and I have always loved their Deli but no more When they refuse to wear masks even in the Deli where they are breathing on exposed food than I am done I called the main headquarters and asked them why this was when every other store is wearing them The woman was as rude as you can get and informed me in no uncertain terms that they didn't have to wear them there was NO law stating that they have to wear them and that they would not be wearing them I told her after she shut up long enough for me to get a word in edge wise that there was no law stating we shopped there and we would be doing little to none from now on I think its pretty low that they don't care about their customers any more than that When all the other stores are doing the best they can read more

I live in Chandler, AZ. This WINCO was a dream come true, relied on them for years, until they went woke in sort of a undeclared way. They started hiring people from Portland, that's always a bad sign, and then they started doing shady things, like saying on their case signs that they were selling Sanderson Farms chicken, but Tyson was what was actually in the case. Tyson is a horrible woke company that's run by China, so they don't care if they're selling poison food to Americans (Tyson ships their "US grown" chicken to China to be processed and shipped back to the US). Their newer Portland (clearly activist) recruits happily double charged for expensive items and now they put up deceptive prices on their egg cases. In bold print it will say something like $2.97 above the 18 egg case when in fine print that you'd need a step ladder to see, they show if you buy 2 the price goes up to $8.99! Now you have to watch everything very closely to make sure you're not getting scammed. Shady, creepy and just terrible from a company that used to be trustworthy, so what else are they short cutting that they're not telling you about?! Check your receipts closely folks to make sure they don't over charge you and please tell all the of the much older folks that you see there that they do this as you're walking through the isles, as a lot of them don't read yelp reviews. read more

Great store but none of the employees OR customers are even RECOMMENDED to wear face masks in the middle of a pandemic that is only getting worse. It made me and my boyfriend feel very unsafe and when I asked one of the employees if they were required to wear masks, she proceeded to give us an attitude when checking us out later. No lie, this place is pretty disgusting. I'm sure you can get a variety of STI's from the bulk food section, and if you let your baby gum on the shopping cart, you might as well directly inject them with the rhinovirus. Still, they have fantastic prices on everything. They're open 24 hours, and rarely close on holidays. They have a large selection of produce, Mexican foods, and breads. The bulk selection is great, as long as you can pretend kids haven't been shoving their grubby hands directly into those M&Ms. Make sure you have cash, a debit card, or check, because they don't accept credit cards--to keep the price down, and I can't say I blame them. read more

Rated at one star, because that's as low as I can go. My following comments don't concern store operations, I haven't shopped there. But a business has many different parts, like trucking/delivery. On Thursday August 27 about 3:00 pm my wife and I were traveling AT THE LIMIT down White Bird. A maniac WinCo driver in a big rig followed close behind before PASSING US INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I've been driving for decades, and this maneuver is at or near the top of dangerous, irresponsible stunts on the roadway. I believe the numbers on his plate were 48924, preceded by the letters m v (?). The truck number was 531117. Highway patrol says they can't help, not having seen the violation. I might call WinCo, but I doubt they give a damn what their truckers do as long as they make schedule. The store deals might rock, but this trucker sucked! read more

I think Walmart is in trouble - selection and prices at WinCo are outstanding. I like the concept of different color labels indicating how much you will save. Only Costco is better for bulk items and variety of goods to keep you interested and spending hundreds of dollars. Also, Whole Foods is great where quality is more important than price. WinCo is great if you want variety of basics and value. Only two minor negatives - 1) cash/debit cards for payment only and 2) you bag your own groceries. This store is only out West. Upon returning a second time to this WinCo location, I can honestly say this is a Grocery Outlet/Costco/Albertsons on steroids. Seriously, processed foods I didn't know existed were available in bulk sizes upon entering. They were screaming at you, like that guy that stands on the street corner with a sign that reads GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE - LAST 5 DAYS!!! And cheap prices still - beef steak and pork ribs were both priced lower per pound than the cheapest Asian food store in Seattle. Tamarind alongside fresh limes and lemons. Large produce selection, though the fish looked pretty tired (ie. Defrosted from frozen). Oh and the clientele! Can't decide whether the lady in the straw hat adorned all over with plastic flowers, or the lady with the fake baby doll in the shopping cart - the one she's pushing along - was my favorite. Or, maybe the tatt guy that reeked of cigarettes with his shirt unbuttoned telling his 5 kids in the shopping cart to SIT THE F*CK DOWN...OR ELSE. WinCo needs a dining section, so we can buy the food, eat a couple of powder-covered donut holes with raspberry filling or a bag of chips the size of my pillow, and start throwing our bras and jock straps around. oh, thank you so much for existing Winco! moving from another state is not the easiest thing, and coming from a grocery store i have been going to my entire life that they don't have here makes it even harder. I am so glad that I found winco and they have made the transition so great! they have EVERYTHING, and the prices are more than fair. It's just my husband and I, and I cook a lot. I get all 5 breakfast, lunches, and dinners for us for a week and its so rarely over $100. We eat well too! I'm kind of a gourmet cook, so I tend to buy good ingredients. We shy away from processed foods as much as we can. The winco brand stuff is top quality too- my favorites include their water, the boxed rice pilaf (at .48 i recommend it!), all of their dry ingredients in the bins (you save SO MUCH doing this), their yogurt and butter, and all of their deli options like cheeses and meats....the list goes on, but you get the idea. lastly, the employees there are all really nice and a few of them remember me from my weekly visits- that's good service. I recommend this place over albertsons any day of the week- you will notice the difference! read more

Got up to take my friend to work and decided to adult instead of bumming around the house with nothing to show for it. I came here for mild grocery shopping. It was early, maybe to early. 8 in the morning is usually my wake up time but since I was up and at em already I figured, what the hell. There really isn't much to say about the place at 8 am, except there were a lot of middle aged ladies there who would rather ignore you and use another isle over looking at you and sharing isles. (Perfect, because I'm the same way, but 29, not mid 40's+) Got my stuff, checked out with a polite checker and left. Couldn't get any easier than that. Beautiful. read more
