What is it with ZOMBIE LAND?! I have been to all the Walmart in North end and they are all the same. The employees are friggin out of there gords! Good luck if you want to know where an item is, prepare to be sent in 3 different directions! Where do they find these people? Don't they make $15 an hour now? I made less than $4 an hour my first job and I worked my tail off! These people walk around like they just got jacked up by Invasion if the Body Snatchers!! Also, they are always standing around shooting the breeze. I have been asked if I am finding everything on occasion but those people are gems in the rough. I have always enjoying going to Walmart to find the cheap things you can only find there... Great for summer time! This Walmart is a mess. Shelves are half empty, items you are looking for aren't available. Staff don't know what they are doing there. And for some odd reason the store is not open 24hours. In a town the size of Monroe on hwy 2 you'd expect the store open more hours. Don't trust the app.. It may say the item is available in a large quantities... But when you get there, there is none of what you drive for. read more

I have shopped there a few times, usually go through the self checkout, but the other day was much different. I checked out, paid, packed up all my bags back into the cart and went to leave. I was stopped at the door by the greeter who asked me to come back so she could check my receipt. I was shocked as she had just watched me literally leave the self checkout less than 20 feet from her station. Several other people walked right through with their carts and did NOT get stopped, so why me? There was no explanation and rudeness followed by the greeter. Needless to say, I did NOT feel welcome and will NEVER go back. I will gladly spend a few extra bucks to be treated like the paying customer that I am! Get over yourself Walmart....if I wanted to steal it sure as hell would NOT be from Walmart!!!! read more

Don't bother ordering groceries online. Ordered groceries 1 day prior to pick up date. At pick up time never received a text or email. Called customer service, on hold 20 mins. I was told..... Robert.... the grocery manager said for me to call back in 20 mins which was well past pick up time. read more

Nice, new clean Walmart and its huge! Wayy bigger than the Mall-Wart we have back home which is extremely small. This one suits all of our needs, it's pretty much one stop and can pick up our groceries, apparel and pet goods in one go. They've always had everything in stock we needed each time we made the drive up to shop, and the workers are super friendly. There's no 'People of Walmart' types either, no kidding at least, not that I've seen. This is probably the nicest one I've been to in the country. Hope they keep it up. read more

I have had two poor experiences with the grocery pickup service. The first time it wasn't ready on time but only by 15 minutes. Today it was 1.5 hours late. Kellie was very kind the many times she had to apologize. I've now been on hold for 10 minutes to speak to someone to complain. Also, the last time I went in person the cashier said hi to a passing police officer and then proceeded to tell me and my 12 year old had saved her life while she was having a psychotic breakdown and got her on lithium. read more

This Walmart is great. I usually just dash in and out for stuff but since it is so new and the staff so friendly I can just take my time and it feels like I'm in a department store almost. The selection is good too, isles are well stocked and organized. The checkout lady was polite and I didn't see any super long slow moving lines like the one in Renton. Overall I would recommend this walmart to anyone looking for anything. read more

I like this store. I shop there a couple times a week for groceries and go to Fred Meyer at least once a week as well. Each store has it's strengths. This Walmart covers a lot of area, so I can understand how people might feel a little lost looking for things. Really a pretty great selection of most stuff. The online ordering is fantastic. You will get an email confirmation that it's ready. If you download and sign in to the Walmart phone app, the clerk is notified when you drive into the parking lot. Walk in to the pickup counter, show your phone screen and badda-bing you're on your way. Try it! The quality of the produce that I buy has been good, but I am selective. You can't beat the in-store baked French and Italian breads for $1/loaf. I've used the pharmacy several times and they consistently have the lowest prices in the area (try using the "LowestMed" app to survey your local prices for any Rx). This is the cleanest of the Walmarts that I have shopped in. The self-check is always quick for me, since I usually am only buying a few things each trip. I'm usually in and out in 10 minutes or less. Yeah, I'm a "hunter' not a "shopper", heh. Quick in and out is important to me since I'm there frequently and know what I want. read more

The stores big lots of selection found everything we needed for going back to school. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful in finding the items we wanted. It's best if you go off hours to miss the crowd. Prices are great! read more

Was in this store shopping with my 88 year old mother. As I was walking out with my two Walmart bags, a frozen Turkey and my 88 year old mother we were stopped and told we could not leave without showing a receipt! I demanded to see the Store Manager and was told "the associate has been off for a while". The purchase was made at the self check and that cashier was very apologetic. This is not the first time I have commented on this process Why does this continue? Called the customer service line twice. Was told I would be contacted to discuss. Two weeks later and no call to follow up. We are customers and we choose where to spend our money. I am encouraged to shop elsewhere! read more

Every time I order something online pickup takes at least 25 minutes, no matter what it is. Today I checked in on the app because it's supposed to be "faster". After 5 minutes of waiting their checkin screen at the desk allowed me to check in there too(I tried when I first arrived, but it wasn't on that menu). When someone did finally come to help me, she was in no rush, at all. Currently waiting for them to "find" my order of 5 32 gallon garbage cans...sitting right at the front of their storage. They were nice enough to get a cart for me though. read more

DON'T take PASSPORT PHOTOS here! The gentleman in the photo dept was very nice, but the photos kept coming out blurry. The poor man tried three times before I gave up. Turns out he was using a very low resolution camera (720p) so it was impossible for him to get a good clear photo. I ended up going down the street to Rite Aid to get photos taken. Then returned the Walmart ones. Hopefully they upgrade their equipment soon! read more

Had to wait almost an hour the other day to get out of the place because the self checkout took a dump and wouldn't give us our change, all of like 8 cents. Neither would the lady in charge, and she made us sit there for nearly 30 mins until some other woman (who couldn't be bothered to help us at first) finally came over and fixed it in 2 seconds. Second incident was a slightly mentally retarded cashier/checker questioning me on the spot about where I remembered her from, which held up the line as she wouldn't let me leave. So by now I've listed off several places and thoroughly embarrassed myself and the person I was with, when she finally says "No, the electronics department silly!!!" ba-dum tsh...... Not that funny, and I don't make it a point to remember every checker that helps me. read more

It's a new store so all of the employees are new.... but already feels like every other dreary Walmart I've ever been in. I feel like a mouse in a maze, trying to find the cheese. Most aisles are too tall to look over and there is no good way to get from point A to point B. read more

I had an issue with an online order which I tried to solve through walmart.com and had an awful response. When I contacted the store directly where I the pickup was supposed to occur, I had a perfect response. Lisa specifically in the Site to Store department looked into things and was able to come up with a prompt and generous solution. I have been to quite a few Walmart's during my travels. Some are downright dirty, disheveled, with multiple empty shelves, but I know I'll find whatever it is I'm in need of while away from home. The Monroe, Washington Walmart has a great selection of brand items I can't find in other stores, and the prices usually beat the one's that I can find elsewhere. I was very impressed with the professional, and courteous mannerisms of a tall young man working in the meat section. (Sky) His name stuck, because I was at eye level with his name tag (LOL). He was so helpful, and assisted me in finding several items. The cashier, was also very pleasant, and rang up my items with small talk, and the greeter, (tall older gentleman) gave me a big smile, and thanked me for shopping at Walmart. I usually don't leave Walmart smiling, but this day I genuinely had a positive experience worthy of sharing on Yelp, as the staff deserves it for helping me feel like an appreciated customer. read more

The worst in store experience i have ever had. This is a one time review because I was extremely disappointed. I called this store a few minutes before I headed there to see if the sporting goods clerk was there ( so i could get my hunting license ). The customer service lady confirmed that someone would be working there and could help me. So I drove 15 minutes to the store and walked to the counter. There I waited for 15 minutes until an employee asked me if i was being helped. I said no and he said he would get someone. Another 10 minutes pass and he comes back saying that he couldn't find anyone so he sent a call out on the loud speaker. Another 15 minutes pass and he returns and says in surprise "still nobody?!?" Yep i say. FINALLY after another 5 minutes the clerk arrives. Apparently he was on a break. So i tell him im here for my hunting license and he says alright just let me log into the computer here. He explains to me that he has to reset his password and apologizes, and i told him to not worry about. So i wait at the counter for 10 minutes while he fumbles around looking for his password but he never finds it. At this point its been an hr+ since i have been waiting, and he tells me he doesn't know his login and cant retrieve it. He then tells me there is nothing he can do so I should come back tomorrow. This is probably the most frustrating customer service experience ever. read more

There prices are marked up a bit, employees are not very friendly, and other customers are VERY rude. I was inquiring about a product ringing up differently than the shelf. I've shopped here semi-frequently in the last year and usually had the "typical" Walmart experience as chronicled in most of the reviews here. Last night was an exception.. I was in the store @ 7pm. Spent $88 on household and pharmacy items. The checker initiated a phone call with another associate before handing me my bagged items which I had to gather from the rotating bagging station myself. She continued her conversation while shoving my receipt at me and ignoring the customer immediately behind me. I proceeded to head to the exit needing to get home as I was running late. I was exiting the first set of doors when the "greeter"( a short older woman with a white chin-length bob and a wooden cane) said she needed to see my receipt. I fished it out of my purse and showed it to her as I was passing, She took it out of my hand and began to check it like it was her shopping list and actually began to open my Walmart bags !! I was shocked! I asked if there was a new policy where they were becoming like Costco--the only other place I've ever shopped that looks at receipts at the exit ( & they don't paw open bags!)-- as I had never encountered this behavior at Walmart before! She said "well you probably had things arranged in a bag." Huh?!?! My purchases were in official Walmart bags placed there by the rude checker 5 min. before! I immediately grabbed my receipt out of her hands and walked away out of the store! She actually protested and attempted to stop me saying she hadn't finished with my receipt!!! I ignored her and continued to my car and could hear her protesting to another person (customer? employee?) that I was leaving! This is not any acceptable behavior from a designated "greeter"-( nor any other employee!) I'm a completely conventional 70 year old woman, nicely and conservatively dressed,(& wearing good jewelry!), and certainly not exhibiting any "suspicious" behavior, and who had been checked out at a station not 20 ft. from where the "greeter" was standing and who had a receipt for my 3 bags of purchases! While I've come to expect a level of incompetence from Walmart employees this is the first time I've experienced this level of audacious affront. What is with all the dogs in the store??? I have seen less and better behaved dogs in a pet shop. I don't want to put my food where a dirty dog has been or it's dirty blanket in a cart. I have seen only a couple of the greeters try to tell people they can't bring their dogs in and then they are cussed and yelled at. When the go to customer service someone in management must say it's OK be because the person with the dog will come back and say the manager says I can have him/her in here. These are not service dogs just someone's spoiled pet that they think can go anywhere with them. Please Walmart get your act together and stop letting all these pets in your store. read more

The fact that you guys don't allow size difference in your clothing, for people who are under average weight, but bigger people can have a hay day. This is very upsetting and I'm sure it is against store regulation codes for ACTUAL designers and merchandisers. I used to be able to shop carelessly in walmarts, even as a child, yet, now if I am not 200lbs or just a little less, I weigh 140lbs and my waist size isn't even close to 30-32 or above, you guys have nothing less then that. Honestly that made me very self conscious and annoyed with your regulations. There is always something new with every Walmart yet you guys can't even open more then five lanes, as well as sell proper attire. I do not understand, I know you should be for your costumers whether your an "under the radar" organization, doesn't mean you can just do as you please. So today I went into Walmart to get the bunk beds and a mattress that I have been eye-balling for a while now. Well when I looked online it said the bunk bed I wanted was $179.00 well when I went to go pay for it it was $199.00! Then I scanned the mattress that was the only mattress they had for what i was looking for and the sign under it said twin mattress $89.00 but when it rang up it said $99.00 so in the process of doing self pay I let the guy know. (He did also inform me that they don't price match from Walmart.com anymore. It's the same company so are you kidding me?!)So he called his manager took her almost 5 minutes to get there. (Mind you I have 2 kids and an infant who are inpatient with me at this point) well she came over and pulled out her phone and was super short and was said well this color or bunk bed is $199. Ok fine no biggie but when I tried to explain to her that the mattress was also incorrect pricing she scanned it again with her phone and told me nope that is $99 and walked away. I was so frustrated and disappointed. I have worked retail my whole life and in Fred Meyer which is very similar. So you can't just fix the pricing for me when the sticker said $89 that right there is FALSE ADVERTISEMENT it was the only spot on the shelf for this product not like i could get it confused with another! I'm so frustrated not sure if I would shop in store again! I will take my business elsewhere! read more

Just stopped by my local walmart and waited about 15 minutes in line behind one person in the 20 items or less checks and because they have some of the most incompetent checkers in the city!! The customer knew an item wasn't going to scan and she told the checker it wouldn't, customer told the clerk "just put in 11.99" for it. First of all I don't think anything at walmart ends in 99 cents...secondly the clerk kept trying to scan it. After about 25 attempts you would say it won't scan. This seems to be an everyday issue with this location. Second issue I have with this store, it must be a prerequisite that you have to smoke to work here. In the early mornings about 5 ish, there are about 10 employees out in front taking their smoke breaks. I wish they would make their employees smoke behind the store. Although they are 20 feet from the entrance customers still have to walk through their smoke to get to the front door. read more

I have been into this new Monroe Walmart a few times and have had negative experiences each time. The aisles are crowded with rude customers who won't move aside to let people pass. The employees are rude and not helpful. They don't know where things are or how to handle basic transactions. Even the Sub Way inside of this Walmart employees trashy people with no customer service skills. I know that Walmart is known for trashy customers, trashy employees and poor customer service, but I was still shocked by the treatment I received each time I went in. I have never experienced that kind of rudeness at Target or Fred Meyer. It's not worth saving $2 or $3 bucks to leave feeling angry and disgusted!. read more

Went to Walmart in Monroe. Young people about 5 were hanging around the store jumping off benches and the large flower pots. Yelling and chasing each other for about 45 minutes. My husband was in the store and I had work to do on my laptop in the car. People were stopping and looking at the young people and shaking their heads because some bad language was being used and families were with their children. At that point I called the store manager because the language was very offensive and people were trying to go around them. When the manager came out 4 of the young men went into the store laughing with an employee who came out a few minutes before the manager. At the same time another employee came out and kissed the young woman and brought her in the store. I know it's late at night but do you really get to work and bring your friends in who are rowdy?? I said did you see all of those people going into the store they have been out here making everyone miserable and now they are going to hang out in the store with their friends? She said I will check. Will I was there for another half hour and none of them came out! read more

I was so excited when Monroe was going to get a Walmart but their "policies" are ridiculous. New policy check receipt at door... It would be one thing if this was like Costco that they check every customers receipt but it is not. They pick and choose.... Does it depend on what color I am, how old I am or do they feel like doing their job that day? My final straw is their new "policy" that if you are to purchase a alcoholic beverage there, everyone that is with you must be 21 and have their ID??? I go to there with my daughter and her fiancé, I purchase my items and finish the transaction. My daughter then purchases her items which included beer, the cashier requested to see all of our ID's. I was not on the same order as my daughter, I was not purchasing the beer nor was I going to be consuming it. My ID has nothing to do with the purchase. A month ago I had another friend go thru the line she ran into another friend there they are both standing in line two carts, two different orders and they just happened to run into each other, friend #1 had beer to purchase, she was not able to purchase the beer unless friend #2 also showed her ID. Last I check Washington State Law requires the purchaser to be 21. I will not return to this Walmart and I have told all my friends not to return. read more

I live in Everett. I was heading out of town when I decided to stop at the store in Monroe. I stopped at Fred Meyer first. They didn't have what I needed and the staff seemed put out that I bothered to ask for help. I left with nothing. I decided to try the Walmart in Monroe next. I am so absolutely happy with this store! I wish it was in my home city. I have never been in a Walmart that had such friendly workers. I had to get help 3 times while in this store and, not only did they walk me to the item I was looking for, but they suggested a few items I didn't even realize I needed for my trip. The store is clean and the workers were friendly. I don't live very close to this store but I can see I will be driving a bit farther for my essentials now that I found this store! read more

my friend and i went in to look at stuff and just pass the time while in the area, we took out one of their longboards and i was sitting on it on the ground when one of the employees (who had been giving us dirty looks before hand anyway) yelled at us to get off the skateboard. gave me quite a fright and a bad taste in my mouth, all of the employees seemed to be giving us dirty looks and staring at us as if we were criminals. it was not clear AT ALL that you weren't supposed to take the skateboards out, they are easily accessible, no glass case, no sign. if customers aren't allowed to ride/sit on the boards, then put up a sign or put them behind glass. i hope a manager ends up reading this, please invest in getting new, friendlier employees. it very much upset both of us and prevented us from making ANY PURCHASES, which we had intended to do going in. get it together, walmart. read more
