I've shopped regularly at this Walmart for a long time and have generally had positive experiences, which is why this incident stood out so sharply. I am a local resident. On the morning of February 6, 2026, I went to the returns counter to make a routine return and then planned to shop. The initial issue itself was minor and could have been resolved easily. Instead, it escalated unnecessarily. The returns associate (Angela) became increasingly hostile in tone and body language during a normal customer interaction. When I calmly pointed out that the tone felt inappropriate, the situation escalated further rather than being de-escalated. An Asset Protection manager (Eybar Taymes) became involved despite not having observed the interaction from the beginning. He immediately sided with the associate, referenced calling the police, and framed my attempt to raise a concern as "harassment." At no point was there a meaningful effort to slow things down or resolve the issue calmly. During this exchange, the associate made a derogatory comment about my clothing and called me an expletive in front of others. I left the store shaken. I later returned and completed a purchase without incident. The next day, I came back and the contrast was striking: when Mr. Taymes's manager was present and the focus was on operations, everything was professional and normal. But when Mr. Taymes was the only manager involved the day before, the situation spiraled out of control quickly instead of being de-escalated. This wasn't about a return being approved or denied. It was about escalation where de-escalation was clearly appropriate, and about Asset Protection authority being used in a way that felt confrontational rather than protective. I've since documented the incident through appropriate channels. My hope is simply that this store reinforces training around customer interactions, tone, and de-escalation--especially when no wrongdoing is involved. I'm continuing to shop here, but this experience was disappointing and avoidable. This store can do better--and based on my prior experiences, it usually does. read more

Horrible customer service- Refused to honor a warranty with receipt- The "head of the customer service was rude and no help- I was so upset with Barbara that I called Corporate from the parking lot. Why does Walmart not accept Apple Pay??? We are 30 minutes away from the closest location and didn't realize they don't accept Apple Pay until we got to the check out! We rarely shop at Walmart but this is a huge turn off, especially when we're on vacation. I hate that I have to waste part of a day driving back and forth to get a credit card. I've been to this Walmart Supercenter a few times, and it's a little different then the average store. Its advantage is being close to the Kalahari, so when you need supplies and snacks to avoid paying the high prices while staying at the Waterpark, it's a good option. Where things get different is the size of the store, it's small for a supercenter. I've had several experiences where I couldn't find what I was looking for or the store was out of that item. If you have flexibility in what you are looking for or can accept substitutions, this store could probably be acceptable. With the smaller size of the Supercenter, I would not be happy if this was my local store. read more

I've spent a few weekends here and there in the Poconos and have visited a variety of stores for groceries and other trip related needs. This past weekend, we decided to go to Walmart for our grocery trip and we were so glad we did. Maybe it's because I'm from Philadelphia, but I found the prices to be extremely affordable and was genuinely shocked by the quality for the cost. The produce section was great, things were very fresh and bountiful. The staff was helpful, when asked. The store in was well organized, with plenty of check-out options and an easy to use self check-out. read more

Only one entrance - the other is closed. During the Covid19 period, they're keeping a close eye on how many people are coming in and letting in a few at a time. One day a week they have an early hour for elderly. The big parking lot is a bit dirty - people littering which is annoying but not Walmart's fault. One-way aisles (though people often don't pay attention to it). Inside, a produce section that has some fruits/veggies but the veggies get wiped out closer to the end of day. Meats are the same - early you can get your chicken/beef/etc. but less selection towards the day's end. One cleaning/disinfectant or water product per person (though I've yet to see disinfectants other than some bleach). Registers are wiped down every other or every person, and self-checkout is half the registers (the other half closed). A pick-up area where you can pick up digital orders sent to store ahead of time (I did it once, was relatively quick to check in on the app, but is inside the store, you have to wait in line to get in). The best part - the fresh bread near the door entry. You can get $1 for a huge fresh loaf of soft Italian/French bread. Seasonal displays still dominate the front couple of aisles but otherwise an easy local option to get reasonable groceries (hence always the line, even though there's a Shoprite and Aldi down the street). If it's not food, cleaning or mask supplies, they probably have it - the garden section is closed, though. read more

If you ever find yourself in too good of a mood and what you really want is to be angry and feel crappy, just walk into Walmart. The unhelpful and grumpy staff will make sure you're throughly pissed off by the time you leave the store. Case in point, today I needed a gallon of paint, that was on the shelf, put in the shaker. I knew that I would need to find someone on the floor to operate the machine. I checked with the associate in sporting goods and he said the machine was broken. However, there are two shakers that run off two completely different systems and just two days ago I had another associate shake some paint cans and both were being used. What catastrophic event could have possibly happened that would cause both shakers to be inoperative? I'm positive that this is the equivalent to the milkshake scenario at so many fast food restaurants. Just plain lazy associates who don't want to be bothered. In Albrightsville for a snowboarding trip and picked up food for our stay at this Walmart. We were able to get everything we needed. We got snacks, ground beef, frozen food, salads, veggies and fruit. We got 3 lbs of bacon which was the most expensive thing on our receipt lol. Overall, happy with pricing and service. read more

Great location for those visiting the Poconos area. Open late (midnight). Great food, great value. My favorite is the meat section. Checkout this Tomahawk steak. Our favorite. We get one ever other weekend. Feeds 2 with leftovers or 4 perfect portions for only $22. Always fresh always delicious. Way better than a butchers shop nearby. Rated 4 because their produce department could use a lil more organic items. We usually find what we need for less than other sites in the area. No bad experiences so far. read more

Customer service could really use a tune up in this Walmart. This is the first time I've gone to Walmart and got a complete run around as to how to do something so simple such as putting helium in balloons. Very frustrating. One lady said go here, another said no I don't know why, another one sent me to customer service, they took foreverrrrrrr to assist. I literally aged from shopping in this store. read more

Propane exchange process was a mess. An employee smoking near the propane tanks said go inside with the tank, when a clearly marked sign says no tanks inside building. Then the next employee tells us go back outside so we go to get the tank and that employee asked for our receipt. Out of all the mixed signals received not one of them said go inside and pay first. I have been coming here every time I'm in the Poconos. During covid they were super covid compliant. Now, that mask laws changed, you can't blame them. Staff have always been friendly and helpful (when you find someone to help). I'm realistic about service I expect there, and I think it's much better than some other stores I've been too. Also, people are more freidnly here than other areas I've been to. Staff will actually answer and not run the other way when they see someone approach. The store is supper clean and nothing is on the floor unlike the Wallmart that we have in NY. The store is spacious. They have lots of affordable items that you pay more for online. read more

I hate walmart. Terrible customer service every time I am there. Unfriendly cashiers. And I am treated like a thief every time I am there between the cameras in your face, seeing the loss Prevention sneaking around like FBI agents and having my recipe examined on the way out even though I don't agree to show them and when i don't show they start calling me out that i need to and when i keep walking saying no thank you they start yelling at me. I have even been cursed at. The only reason i shop here is the prices, they win they have the best prices on almost everything. I have been using Walmart grocery delivery for over a year. overall it has worked out well. However, I've been trying to get a time slot for over a week and there aren't any available. I contacted grocery delivery three times, and each time, after I explained the situation, I was told to hang on while they checked, and was disconnected. I tried to call corporate and it's the same number I called for grocery delivery. I called the Mt Pocono store yesterday to see what was going on. A very nice lady told me that she just found out. The shelves were bare and they were having trouble making deliveries as some drivers were on vacation. She said they wouldn't resume until the middle of August. I find this unacceptable. I paid for the year as I have some physical limitations that make it hard for me to shop and carry groceries. That was the whole purposof delivery. I had to choose another store and wound up paying an extra $15 for fees and delI very This is very disappointing. They should at least have posted this on their website so as not to waste people's time trying to figure out what happened. Customer service needs improvement. One employee outside told us the completely wrong information in regards to the propane exchange process. She clearly didn't want to be bothered. This is a typical Walmart Supercenter. Yes it's packed with ppl but what do you expect for Walmart? I went on a Thursday evening, lots of ppl doing their back to school shopping. Lots of deal on school supplies, uniform pants and undergarments. Multiple registers were open, I wasn't even on line for 5 mins. I don't understand or see how this Walmart has such high reviews. Then I notice the date is from 2+ years ago, and it might make a little sense. My friends and I were staying at a house nearby for the weekend, and we decided to stop by this Walmart to get all the food and supplies. Being city kids, most of us aren't really used to shopping at Walmart, so my friends were a little entranced at the cheap prices and many options. But after a few minutes of shopping, we were entirely put off. This place is the worst Walmart I have ever been to, and the most "ghetto" as well. First visit to a Walmart ever and I guess this one was a good one to start at. I see why it's a national institution! This particular one closed at midnight and we got there at 11:45pm, which was no issue. It's decently sized and was organized quite well. Well, this is the best Walmart I have ever gone to... Everytime when I head over to the Poconoes, this Walmart is second on the list from the Outlets. This Walmart SuperCenter has everything I wanted from AA Batteries to Yogurts. I can just buy everything I need to live at my family's vacation house. This Walmart also has nice and clean restrooms at times and there is also the EyeGlass Center, a Subway's Restaurant and a huge Parking Lot. I use to compare it to the Walmart located in Hempstead, NY but this one is too good to be compared to a god damn New York and New Jersey Walmart, it is just the best Walmart yet the best one in it's class. That is why it holds the Editor's Choice and Class's Best Choice from AW Studios. read more

It's no fun when you go grocery shopping and find a lot of shelves empty while many employees are hanging out gossiping with each other. There are times when I go there and there are very few employees to be found when someone needs help with something. I tried to get a case of iced tea off the top shelf and I could barely reach it enough to get it to where I could get it down off the shelf. I couldn't find a single employee in the grocery section but I walked past the doors where they bring stock out and found several employees hanging out while gossiping. I stood there and tried to get their attention but they all turned their back to me. I had to yell to them that I needed help getting something down off the top shelf. A guy came out and walked past the area where I said I needed help. I had to yell for him to come back. He finally did and was able yo get what I needed. I have been there looking for kids shoes and found nothing in the size I needed but they had plenty in the smaller sizes. They had cheaply made shoes in the toddler size I was looking for. The sandals they had were thin and had a cheap elastic band on the back to hold them on her feet. They had other sandals there that were thin and looked very uncomfortable so they got put back. The ones that looked like they would be great we're all too small. I asked an employee to look in the back for a certain pair in the size I needed, I was told "I don't have time for that" with a nasty attitude! The kids sneakers in the size I look for are also garbage while they have lots of nicer ones in the infant and younger toddler sizes. There are so many cash registers but very few people operating them. The self checkout sections are always crowded and sone Phrygian in there to check themselves out but have no idea what they are doing so they take forever to get done while the employee watching the self checkout section does nothing to help anyone that don't know how to use the self checkout registers. This place needs new management, new and better employees. They need more employees working when the place is normally busy but I don't see that happening anytime soon. read more

Never been to a place with more incompetent staff. To be fair though, this place does not represent most Walmarts ... so far. You ask someone something about something in their department... "i don't know" and it's usually in an Ebonics tone that you can barely understand.. "lemme try to check dat fo yu, mah manager in duh back" never comes back................ very cool, im about to drop $400 here... give me some attention when im asking simple questions. training... training... training. Now as far as availability goes, they almost always have what im looking for. I almost always come here after hours. Their employees that work overnight do not wear uniforms and mostly ignore you if you need something. Essentially i could just take whatever i want because you can't tell who is an employee and who isn't. I like the products here but the 2 star rating (which i don't like giving out) is for the service... such a large store with multiple departments needs staff with knowledge of their department and need to know how to speak in their native tongue. read more

Before I rated this place it had an average of 5 stars. 5 stars... are you kidding? This is singularly the worst Walmart I've EVER been to... and I am not exaggerating. We recently arrived in Mt. Pocono on business and are staying in the Comfort Inn (great place, see my review). We stopped by Walmart because we'll be here for 5 days, well... 4, but stop being picky! The first thing we noticed when we pulled into the parking lot was... that we COULDN'T pull into the parking lot! It was shopping-cart HELL! Shopping carts were littered all over the entire flipping lot! The little cart corrals were overflowing and carts were rolling away by themselves. My co-worker drove and refused to park in a spot because there were too many shopping carts around and they might have hit her car. Upon entering, the produce section was a fantastic mess. I currently live in Aberdeen, MD, and shop at the Walmart there often. I've NEVER seen that store like this store... never. The produce isle was just a mess. We continued on and the isles were just unkempt, there were half open and eaten candy bars lying around, and crap on the floors. No, not real CRAP, just...stuff... stuff-crap, like mac-n-cheese. Honestly it was awful. I'd give it 1 star, except I know I'll likely be shopping there when I move up here for good... and that makes me sad. :( ( Hopefully this was just an off day and they were very... WHY does this craphole have a five star review? The hell? A ghetto-like store to shop in. It's DIRTY, stuff spilled on products, OPENED pet food bags, OPENED cat little boxes, dirt on the floor and shelves, random littered things from fast food places. Like a person once left a half eaten Mcflurry in the Pet section, and I've seen many half drank sodas from Mcdonalds. Just left on shelves. Even though there's trash cans. There's only about three nice staff members I know, one being my cousin. The other two are nice guys. But the rest are either rude, lazy or very airheaded. ALSO, last time I was there, they only had ONE line open! Out of like 20! And it was the Ten items or less line! WTF? The deli is VERY slow, even if you just want something simple. It wouldn't be as bad, but you can't even sit anywhere. It can take as long as 20 minutes, at the very least they should provide a place to sit near the deli if they're gonna make people wait so damn long. My feet were BEAT red by the time I got home from having to stand there for so damn long. Plus they are terrible at restocking items. You can go in there and see things are out of stock for no reason. It's not a holiday, a blizzard or anything like that. Really bad and not a good store to shop in. And I cannot count how many times they have sold me spoiled out of date food. My mother has gotten sick so many times from them selling her spoiled meat or fish. Also, customer service has been WORSE than ever! No matter if its a holiday or not, the line seriously goes all the way back to the ENTRANCE of the store. I am NOT kidding. There's only two benches in the entire store, and a recent event really ticked me off. My mother had to return some stuff, and was spoken to VERY rudely by some 'assassinate manager' named Barbra. She was rude to my mother and to a woman with a baby, not allowing her to return baby clothes. She also was asking customers "Why didn't you call first?" Uh, WHAT?! CALL first?! Lady are you not aware where you're working? This ain't no 4 star restaurant! It's Walmart! The most dirtiest, ghetto Walmart in the state to boot. Unless its about an electronic, you shouldn't have to 'call first'. Its unheard of for someone to 'call first' to return stuff to a Walmart. Seriously, where'd they get this loon from? And the only reason myself and others still shop there is because the economy is too bad to afford to shop at Weis.
