Walmart has great prices and a large selection of almost everything, but I am giving this Walmart 1 star because it is nearly impossible to checkout. They often have a long line of checkouts without anyone working them. I have seen many time one checkout open and the self checkouts open. It is rediculous to expect people with full carts to use self checkout, which seems to be encouraged here at Walmart. In other grocery stores, there is an item limit at self-checkout, but not at Walmart. Open up more checkouts - seriously! Also, the people who work at Walmart are rarely friendly. They are like robots with their head down just doing their job without any eye contact or casual hello. I choose not to go to Walmart most of the time unless it is unavoidable simply because of the checkout experience. Please fix this! read more

Simple shopping trip turned bad. The customers standing behind me in line would not stop bumping into me. I asked them to stay 6 feet away then the cashier pulled off her mask and said 'we don't enforce that here'. Then the cashier and the people behind me started communicating in Spanish and laughing 'he's probably a trump supporter' when I replied 'of course I am' Then the cashier told me 'you need to get out of my store' she addressed a manager and he politely asked to me leave. I was so humiliated I will never shop here again. read more

"Blech!" Not a good experience shopping here today. Too many things just "wrong" to not comment on. Needed cotton balls, and all they had was a gigantic, 400 count bag, on a shelf that was either "under construction", or was recently robbed, as there was nothing else on it, besides the other 400 count bags of cotton balls, and a smattering of cotton "rounds". Crappy looking area. A surly employee in the pharmacy area was quite bothered by my question when I asked for directions to "Advil". Good God, a least pretend to give half a rats ass if you're in the customer service business. At the checkout we were rung-up by Connie, who, judging by the pack of cigarettes in her apron pocket, and her attitude, was WELL past a smoke break. She was outright rude, with no provocation whatsoever. Probably the most pissed-off person I've ever seen working in Walmart. I TOTALLY understand how challenging it can be, dealing with the public all day, but we are very polite, considerate people, who always say "excuse me", "please", and "thank you". I'm always respectful of cashiers, and anyone else who has to serve people all day, as I'm also in the customer service industry. To top it off, when we got home, we found that our bag of organic apples contained three rotten ones that had to be immediately thrown away, and the chocolate fudge cake we bought from the bakery was dry and stale, and coated in thick, sickly, sticky, nearly chewy frosting, despite touting a label that claimed it was "made with pride". I get it, it's Walmart. But couldn't it try to be just a little less..."Walmart-y"? read more

Verronika called for carry assistance and when no one came, they dropped what they were doing to help me get an air conditioner out of my car for an exchange. My sister in law and I drove to this store from Monroe today, to buy Xbox One Bundles. Keep in mind that these specific bundles are nearly impossible to find. They showed up online earlier in the day as available and she called to make sure they were in stock. She was told there were "a bunch in the back" by the employee that answered the phone. Ok, cool. She packed up her two little kids, picked me up, and we were off. When we got to about Marysville, I called again to ask to put them on hold. I was told by a VERY rude lady in the electronics department that they do not put things on hold there but I didn't hear her at first because she was talking to someone else at the same time. Next thing I hear is her yelling HELLO?! In my ear, then reiterating what she just said. Fine, we're about 25 minutes away anyways. We finally got there and had to wait a little while to ask someone to get the bundles for us (understandable, they were busy) When we finally asked, the guy immediately told us they in fact did NOT have any in stock and haven't for over a month now. We insisted on him looking in the back to see since it showed up as available online and we were told a couple hours before by an employee that there were "a bunch in the back." He came back out, said no again and was done. At this point we're ticked. My sister in law's kids were getting grumpy and we just drove an hour there for no reason. We talked to a very nice manager about it and he checked for us as well but again, found no Xbox bundles. This is the reason I hate this store but I did what I thought I had to do to get my husband the Christmas present he wanted. Employees: next time someone asks you if there is something in stock, look. Don't make false promises you can't keep. Also, maybe retrain some of your employees on proper customer service. Being rude to customers is completely uncalled for and unacceptable. read more

Busy store with an unusual layout. It took a while to check out. The jewelry counter is near the self- check-out. The lady/worker was bumbling around. When asking her if she could check us out she said no. Not even two minutes later another person went to her and proceeded to buy their groceries from her. So if I go to visit Mt. Vernon again I will definitely buy a case of bottled water elsewhere. I just don't need that type of negativity in my life. read more

Has anyone recently talked to the gal who answers the phone there? I think she needs a happy meal a strong pot of coffee and a few more light bulbs burning up stairs! If you are going to let me down I would like to be taking to someone who is a bit more awake that I am! I would like them to have a bit more pep in their voice. And with a big sheet eating grin in their voice to say with bold confidence, "No sir! We do not have any lazy boy recliners at this time! I hate to leave negative reviews. But I am sad and mad. I turned my disposable camera into the photo department in early June. I checked back every 2-3 weeks to see if my photos were ready, each time they would never be ready. Granted, the person working the photo center at the time I turned it in told me it would take longer then usual, but I didn't expect four months long. Anyways, I went back to the photo center in my Walmart today and I was told that my photos were shredded. Why were they shredded? I had checked so often to see if they were ready and they never were. The man working explained that after 60 days, the photos that weren't picked up were shredded. I get that. But I checked on my photos very often. I had very important pictures on that camera-- and they are gone. All of the people I talked to were very kind. I am not mad at them. But something needs to change there at the photo center. read more

A supercenter is what it's labeled to be, the size is right, the inventory is not. Walmart has been given a bad rap for destroying small business. I'm on the cusp about that thought. The times move on towards the big chains that can afford to buy in larger bulk for larger clientele. Face it the towns, cities, county's, are growing everyday with larger numbers of people that need larger business to shop. That being said this particular Walmart location has the inventory no bigger than the size of small business. If your going to be the muscle chain you claim to be then flex those biceps and hire people competent enough to pay closer attention to inventory numbers. This area has a very large Hispanic population, a large college community, and all around growth of population. Walmart is a necessity for sure. But when you walk into a business this well known and this size with prices that can't be neared by the smaller business you expect to be able to find what you need in stock without issue. We are always disappointed in the lack of what we should be able to purchase. A for instance, I walked in to purchase a computer. The person that I spoke with argued with me about the price. Clearly advertised online a couple of hundred less than what was labeled in the store. Someone was called over to assist with this problem. When all was done they refused to match the Walmart online advertised price. Ok I decided to accept the higher price difference only to be told that there were no more left available. Overall this was now into an hour. Someone else came over and managed to find one more left listed in the back. My thought was now we're talking. He brought it out, before the purchase at the counter he opened it up to make sure it was the correct item. It was correct but it was pink. Being a straight large alpha male pink is not my favorite color. Ok, we were into this well into the second hour and needless to say I felt the need to voice my opinion of everyone that I spoke to with a hissy fit large voiced temper losing kids plug your ears line of sentences and walked away. This produced several issues, not only do they lack in inventory they order pink computers that they're never going to sell. Then hire leaders that argue with customers about prices clearly marked less than in store prices. This goes for other items in this store as well. The shelves are often left abandoned of inventory. Quality control, departmental management are extremely lacking at this location. To bad, the opportunities to make money are endless provided you have the product to sell in the first place. read more

NIGHTMARE! This is the worst Walmart when it comes to service. Took 20 minutes to get through check ou yesterday, 11am. We bought ice. Got to the ice machine they had none. Checker wouldn't refund me, had to go to service desk. Waited in a 20 minut line to get $4 back. Called and asked for a manager. The woman who answered the phone was a worse nightmare....after holding 11 minutes she said, " you were like 8 calls ago, remind me of what you want..." I literally was on hold for a manager just shy of the entire time I waited to get my $ back. TERRIBLE SERVICE! The worst! read more

I usually enjoy Walmart, usually has what I'm looking for and the prices are decent. Recently my husband and I went grocery shopping there, found all we came for and were checking out. Here was my problem. Id say about half the time the cashiers are happy and cheerful, sometimes not so much but I ignore it. However this time the cashier (I know his name starts with B but I wont put it on here) had such BAD body odor I could barely breathe while standing on the other side of the register. While he was polite and cheerful he smelled so awful I felt like puking. I didn't want him near my food let alone touching it. I am sure the other workers here at Walmart (managers I'm talking to you) know who I am talking about and It would be wonderful if he could be talked to. It was offensive to my husband and I and I do not want to experience it again. read more

A recent visit to the Mount Vernon Vision Department was such a positive experience. Diane not only met my expectations, she exceeded them exceedingly! Her discerning eye managed to re-fit my glasses in one attempt and her helpfulness in selecting polarized clip ons was perfect. That was the best $15 I will ever spend. She then checked me out and sent me on my 'have a good day way'. Thank you Diane for being such an excellent representative of a store I love to shop in....WalMart! read more

Honestly the only reason I'm giving them a one star is because of two facts the cart guy was friendly and nice. Giving me exact directions to where I needed and the only other guy that I saw working there smiled and nodded at me once he saw me, even though he had just clocked out. My fiance and I went looking at some ring today when walmart seemed pretty slow. The first of many in counters I had with the sales lady she immediately mean mugged me as I smiled and nodded to her. I had looked at he many times and even set my wallet on the counter showing her i was ready for help. When that didn't work, I choice to walk by her a couple times. As I walked passed her multiple times she continued to give me the same fuck you face every time. Then as I walked by AGAIN I said hi and she got pissed at me, making an even worse face. Though I didn't know that was possible..... after my fiance joined me we circled the display case again waiting for serves again. By this time she was talking to another associate about their "many life problems". Those one was off I watched the woman who was working leave what she was doing and turn her back on me to talk to the other woman. After about 15 minutes of this we left, and have now decided that we will never been shopping there. And Deffently WILL NOT EVER buy jewelry there. By watching so many associates standing around joking and laughing I've seen this isn't a place I want to shop. But I want to point out again! The cart kid was way more helpful then I would have ever guessed. And the kid that wasn't working took the time to smile, even though he wasn't working anymore. Walmart needs to go though this place and either pick out the bad or give them a choose to retrain and do better or leave. This isn't the first issues I've had with their employees, sadly I get to say that it's all women there that we have the problems with. I've only seen two that new what they were doing, and doing their jobs. That being said, if we do get a walmart ring it will not be from this place!!! read more
