This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. The shelves are almost always empty. The people there are the most ghetto I've ever seen! On my first trip to this Walmart I saw a young Latina with tattooed on eyebrows. I am not talking the regular chola permanent eyebrows, but actual words tattooed in place of eyebrows. I stopped by after work because online this store was showing 2 cameras i was looking for in stock. When i arrived no one was in vision and a manager passing by found me someone to assist me. What threw me off was she was helping one person before me and when another guy asked for help she rudely told him he needs to wait it's gonna be a while. Now i appreciate her going in order but the way she said it was so disrespectful to the guy. Shortly after another employee walks up and his name is Robert asks how can he help me. I ask if i can give him a UPC number and he says well what is the item i k ow what i have in stock. I tell him and he says everyone is looking for it and dismissed me. Now i saw online the items in stock and his lack of customer service to even check bugged me. So i ask another employee Andrew from another department sports section. He looka it up tells me its in back order but has a lets go check attitude to see if i get lucky. When Andrew asks Robert if he can check Robert turns to me ans tells me why did you ask someone else i told you its not in stock which i reply it shows online its in stock i wanted to try and he says he ia the manager its not. Now i felt he couldve took a moment to double check but instead to confront me the way he did in my opinion something a manager shouldn't do and feel this guy shouldn't be in the front of the store but in the warehouse away from customers. I hope Robert receives some type of empathy training and customer service training i mean hey he can even ask Andrew for advice. read more

I love this store because all their shelves are always stocked every night. Employees are always friendly and helpful. Store is always clean and organized. If you want customer service, you're not going to find it here. On Thanksgiving morning, my PS4 docking charger died. I needed it to play videos for the kids and also to have some child friendly activities available while the adults hung out. The only place open that had it was this WalMart. So I walked in, went to the counter and asked the woman at the counter if I could just get a charging station. She looked at me blankly and said 'We can't sell electronics'. There were no signs or indicators anywhere that said anything similar. I explained my situation to her and Ms. Broken Record simply said 'We can't sell electronics'. I'm not asking you to rip open a Black Friday box, I just wanted one that was behind a case with NO INDICATOR that I, as a consumer, could not purchase it until Black Friday hours. This WalMart gives no mention of it's policies and expects shoppers with emergencies to be understanding. While this is a Supercenter location and I am aware they are open for food purposes; if other departments are unavailable, they should make it clear as soon as a customer steps foot into their store so they don't leave frustrated like I did. read more

I've never been a fan of Walmart but go there every now and then and each time I go I remember why I dislike Walmart so much! The way they have redone the van buren Walmart makes no sense!! The parking lot is a mess, the way they designed the parking lot after the renovation is weird! It's like you're going against the grain of the parking lot and it's always so busy you can hardly find parking! The inside is designed as poorly as the parking lot. They have the inside set up weird, especially the beauty isles. The isles are so narrow and inconvenient!! They should have not done the renovations, it was a waste of time and money!! read more

I dont get it with all these negative reviews. Its Walmart..not A 5 star resturant! People need to get over themselves a bit I think. Go to the mall and pay double and dress nice if you want. I go to walmart ,ANY, walmart, for conveniece of one stop shopping and lower prices. period. not the decor. anyway i have had great experience at this walmart especially during xmas. they didnt have an item and the manager was real helpful to me, amidst all the chaos he took the time to check for the item and then when they didnt have it ,i asked and he gave me a comparable model at the same price! Had to kind of say" cmon on man! You can do it,lol) but Real cool guy. anyway ive been to dozens of difrent walmarts and to me they all seem about the same, yea some are a bit better than others, but i have no high expectations other than the above. I dont see all the stuff people are saying and im always there at least once or twice a week... .(mabey im so ghetto it does'nt bother me,lolol i hope not) im well spoken and somewhat edumikated... im not there to judge the people anyway you can have bad experices anywhere you go. so ill continue to shop here at this walmart probably till they close it or i move to another city. ive found the staff very helpful. its all in how you ask or say things as to the results you get. if your nice , you'll be treated nicer. If there was a zero star option I would definitely provide one for this store. The store is under construction, which makes the atmosphere super chaotic. I was looking for a specific storage bin and needed help. Literally found three separate groups of workers, consisting of 2-5 members chatting and complaining about work related issues. The only help I got was to check for the storage bin in home goods, then check garden, and if neither of those worked out check hardware. Ok fine, no problem I will walk around. Neither section had them, instead of looking for an item number, I got told I could go to the fitting room section and they would provide me a number to another super Walmart.....sorry! instead of putting your money into making the store a super Walmart, maybe you should spend your money on hiring better employees who want to work for your company and actually care about customer service. read more

Only go here if you must. This place sucks from the product they carry to the people they hire. They should have a new HR team to hire better people. My review is based on this location not the rest. I know that they don't hire people to answer any kind of real questions about electronics, tools, etc. but if I ask what aisle is the paper towels on they should be able to answer that without saying " I don't know I don't work in that department" Really!!!! I don't expect you to know the difference in a HDMI cable vs component wires but I do expect you to tell me where I can find simple items. They need to stop hiring rude people and get to focusing on service. They are quick to stop you to verify your receipt but they are just as quick to tell you they don't know! Other walmart stores I have visited at least have nice friendly people that try to help you if you have questions. I will drive to the one in Corona or the 215 next time even though this one is only 5 miles or so from my house. read more

This Wal-Mart looks like it has black friday nearly every day! Aisle are disorganized with items strewn about with no logical order. Furthermore, this perticular Wal-Mart has a very limited selection of every item. I was highly disappointed in the variety of products and the organization of this store. read more

Not really a fan of Walmart to start with since their store is always a mess. I was surprised to see that it was actually cleaner than usual although Everything has been moved from where it used to be. They do have a lot of people on the floor whom u can ask for help. No more mcdonalds inside walmart. The bathrooms near cash registers are new and beautiful. I changed my baby's diaper but there were no trash cans to put it in. At register got a horrible cashier. I know good employees are hard to find but this lady was scary. The guy right behind us was a walmart employee as well and she was talking to him while charging us. Since the remodel its much cleaner inside but that's about the only nice thing I can say. First off, the parking lot layout is terrible. The last 3 times I have gone there was not a single shopping cart in the huge bay built for them. When I finally found an employee to complain they seemed non chalant and unconcerned. I a store that size they should have one or two dedicated employees each shift collecting carts. I found it very difficult trying to shop holding my 1 year old on my hip. I have real all the previous reviews regarding the Wal-Mart on 5200 Van Buren Blvd in Riverside, CA and I concur with the appalling service given by the employees at this Wal-Mart location. My son-in-law approached the car service department for a tire repair on Friday, March 1, 2013. He waited 10 minutes before he could get a customer service rep. to help and was informed they were behind schedule and would not repair the tire. My son-in-law informed the service rep. of their hours and they didn't appear busy and asked to speak to the manager. Someone approached my son-in-law claiming to be someone in supervision. After further discussion this person was found to be the department Cashier. And was spouting the same words - "we can't help you." After further discussion with the car service rep. and the department cashier my son-in-law again requested to speak to the service manager in charge of this particular department. Afterward Wal-Mart car service manager finally relented grudgingly after an initial refusal and finally said "we'll see what we can do!" A total of 40 minutes before my son-in-law got an answer to fix the tire and then they took their time to complete the task of repairing the tire Customer Service is NOT an outstanding quality at this Riverside Wal-Mart location. A crude, discourteous and surly culture permeates here. And yes, this all smacks of racial behavior on the part of this particular Wal-Mart. read more

My friend says Walmart doesn't sell live fish. Well, he's right. They sell DEAD fish. fish are in very poor environment. I don't understand why they even sell the fish if no one's going to care for them. I love Walmart. I love getting cheap deals, and I honestly know what to expect when going to most Walmarts, its Walmart. I'm even okay with it being messy and having to search for things most of the time..plus it isn't in the nicest location. However, this Walmart really disappoints me! Since it has been redone I've had a hard time finding things, also expected. So I asked one staff member where the trashcans were, she said she wasn't sure. No biggie, I find two other employees, older women, and ask them. One responds "Im on break, can't you see that." No, I can't see that, you are wearing the uniform and walking around the store. The other lady reluctantly said "Go towards the back of the store." They clearly do not appreciate or care about their jobs or customers. On the positive, I have had nice cashiers there. I ordered a laptop on line. Well it didn't work when j received it. So I went in store to get refunded. I had the worse customer service. I'm not sure her name as her name tag was worn out. They just finished remodeling looks alot better. Before this place was discusting i could never find anythimg here, makeup was never stocked, everything was either opened or broken. This is by far the most HORRIBLE Walmart EVER!! It's actually the most horrible retail store I ever been to EVER!! The customer service SUCKS!! I keep asking myself why I keep going back there. But it's because I like Walmart for thier prices and products they sell and this is the most convinient Walmart for me to go to. If I drove myself I would probably drive 40 miles just to avoid this store. I admit when I shop I go a little overboard ALOT.. So I find myself returning things I layer realizing it I can't afford. At this Walmart the customer is always wrong.. I feel like they discriminate against me because I return ALOT of things. I always have my receipt but they ALWAYS find a problem. They accused my husband of being a receipt shopper. I've heard them tell a man who had cancer that they didn't care what he had and how long he had to wait. They've told me there was no manager there when I asked to speak to one. When I went to tell her "do I look stupid?" And that I've worked retail for years and I know there has to be a manager in the store during business hours, right then the manager walked into customer service. Alan the assistant manager is the ONLY decent person who works there. Oh yes and there are 2 very, very nice helpful ladiesv customer service, Gina & Daniela. The rest are miserable b***hes that hate there jobs and you can tell by their faces and bad attitudes . Daliah, Donner, julie, yasmine are the WORST! Today Julie said she'd couldn't read my receipt (because their ink fades after a week ) but the Barcode was scannable but she pretended it was too faded and couldn't read the numbers to punch it in. I told it's not my fault your receipts fade like that. She tried to tell me the shorts I was returning weren't on the receipt, that she compared all the #'s and none matched and she could only give me the sale price $5. As I walked out burning up MAD I tried my hardest to read my receipt and I could see here the shorts were because I had bought one for $5 and a pair that was 3x that was $7. They were right in the middle of the receipt rang up one after the other. But the Barcode was faded. I went right back to her and said "it is on the reciept!" She said "no I looked up all the numbers and none match!" I told her " there's no way you could tell because the #'s are completely faded!" She STILL argued with me and said "well , ok I'll have to do it like a refund with no reciept" And this is just what happened today. Theres so many , many more horrible stories! I just don't get why they have to be so rude!! I'm not a rude person. I'm nice to everyone and treat everyone with respect. Especially at my place of employment. Over the last 5 years I have so many nightmare stories I could write a book.. I really think Walmart doesn't care. They still make billions. This is by far the worst Wal-Mart I have ever been to anywhere, not just California. I don't know where to start. The store is very unorganized / messy and it seems to lack the products that could easily be found at other locations. The staff is lazy and rude. Don't even bother asking where anything is, you'll end up going to search for it yourself after being "pointed in the right direction". There are never enough cashiers at the register so long checkout lines are the norm. I mean I could go on and on and on. I live right around the corner from the store so it especially sucks for me. The store needs a makeover. The staff, including the management that run the store, need to be fired. No one cares about this store and it shows. Avoid the store when it first opens since there will be pallets and carts in the aisles so you won't be able to shop. Wait too late and you'll be elbow to elbow with other customers who are loyal to the store that don't know any better or probably simply can't afford to shop anywhere else. I hate having to go here and when I do it's merely out of convenience. If you have a choice, don't go! You will end up pissed off.
