The staff at this Walmart is so nice and helpful. I've asked the staff questions on a few occasions now and they really try to go out of their way to help you! For example, I asked if they carried aoli and they didn't just say "I'm not sure," they went and looked and asked around for me. When it turned out that they didn't carry it, they told me who buys the products and encouraged me to let them know what I want here. I've never had a store employee offer that and I super appreciated it! Generally speaking, in comparison to other Walmart employees, these people seem to either enjoy their jobs or like helping people! The only thing I don't like about this Walmart is that there seems to be no AC... I'm not sure if this is a Salem thing as I've noticed that about a few places here, but on a 95 degree day, AC is really necessary to keep me in the store... read more

I have rarely been so disappointed with a store as I was with this location. I ordered an item from the Walmart website with site to store delivery, being new to the area I realised too late that I didn't send it to my normal store but figured it was okay because the error would allow me to explore more of the Salem area. I tracked my package yesterday and it said that it was due to be delivered so I called up to the store a little later to see if it had arrived, I was at work and not by a computer so I wasn't able to check my email. The phone rang for a full minute and a half before being answered by someone who sounded very overworked. She transferred my call to the proper department where I was asked if I had received an email telling me that my product had arrived. I informed her that I didn't have access to that email at that time and I was just hoping she could check for me. She very rudely told me to check my email and stated that she could give me a phone number to call to see if my order had arrived. I told her that wouldn't be necessary and hung up. When I went to pick up my order today after checking my email to be sure it had arrived I was left to wait for 11 minutes before anyone showed up. Multiple clerks came past me waiting at the counter, however none acknowledged me. At the 6 minute mark I called the store and asked the girl who answered to page someone to the pick up area, at the 9 minute mark the clerk who had been cleaning the bathroom behind me came out and said that he would get someone for me. Finally at the 11 minute mark an assistant manager showed up and said "sorry for the delay, it's a long walk from gardening". After she gave me my product she just dismissed me. No real apology, no trying to make me feel better.... I definitely will not be going back to this store! read more

The arm of my glasses fell off when I picked them up in the morning. I put my old ones on and continued shopping for the older ladies I cook for. I could not read labels for ingredients that are not tolerated. So, I took my glasses to Harlan at the eye center expecting to pay for the repair since I did not purchase my glasses there (Covid19 has hurt a lot of businesses and people in need). He came back after a little while, handed my glasses back to me and told me to enjoy my day. When I questioned him about owing something, he told me not to worry about it, it was a pleasure serving me. NOW I CALL THAT FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE and a wonderful place to shop! read more

The young male workers in the grocery refuse to wear their masks properly. The same is overwhelmingly true of their customers. If they ARE wearing their masks, they aggressively walk right up on people. Customers regularly take off their masks once inside but are not corrected. I'll never go back. read more

Used the service center for an oil change and 4 new tires. The broke a lung nut and said it would be a day to get it done, do it myself. They did give me a free oil change for my truck. im more of a target/winco/order online kinda gal. but sometimes, be it for certain products, or certain prices, you have to give in and go. this is the best option in the area. cleanest one and they schedule enough employees to keep the wait down at the checkout. the employees are kind. the store is clean and well arranged. I know where everything is and i like that. i live 1.2 miles from the NE salem walmart but if i have to come to walmart I actually drive the extra miles to go out south to this one, because the experience is nicer and im not waiting forever to check out. also: I am really grateful for this pharmacy. I have come here, not for me, but for shelter animals who need certain prescriptions and it is SO convenient. They have really reasonably priced medications. I was able to get medication for a dog with a serious heart condition for roughly 10 bucks for a months supply. I am grateful for the friendly staff even with a bevy of frustrated customers. Its hard to do customer service, but the gal working today, I think her name was Shurell? was wonderful! the pharmacy is why im giving this location 4 stars :) read more

This is the Walmart I shop at in Salem. The only negative is the EXTREMELY slow check-out process. Basically, I come here when I need to pinch pennies when grocery shopping. Cat food is cheap, so I usually stock up on that. Overall, the store is not too scary, as compared to the Lancaster and South Salem Walmart locations. Food selection is diverse and plentiful (usually stuff is in stock). Deli food is not the best, but its cheap. The vision center on site is very high-tech and professional. The produce department is not up to par -- especially with their prepackaged bags of lettuce -- ALWAYS BROWN. UGH. Pretty safe location of town -- and good parking. Having a Lowes next door is a big plus! read more

I don't go into Walmart much if at all, I try to avoid the place at all cost but I got a gift certificate for this place and decided to use it up finally be it expired. I went there after work and dinner so it was after 9pm and I went for a few tolitries makeup remover, face wash, lotion, and a body scrub. Well I walked out empty handed and I just gave the card to the homeless man in the parking lot. I guess at 9pm all the makeup and other like female toiletries are locked up in the jewelry department and you can't purchase them. Do the employees and customers steel so much you have to lock up $3.99 make up remover I was shocked and just pissed I couldn't purchase anything I came for. Bought some wine, beer and food for dinner. Realized I had forgotten some salad. To buy the salad I went to self checkout. There was a lady who was watching and said, " aren't you going to purchase the beer?". I said I did and showed my receipt. No thank you, just an ok from her. Good Walmart with a big gardening center and adequate market. It has the usual Walmart departments and has enough cashiers to allow check out within minutes. The produce section was decent in size, but not in quality. Some of the fruits were past their prime and should have been taken off the shelves. Had to spend a good few minutes to find two passable mangos with no rotten or bruised areas. Bad fruit should be taken off or replaced with fresher ones. Overall my experience at this Walmart was mediocre, but I think I would go back if necessary. read more

I should have read the reviews. Had a battery died after 4 months. It had a 2 yr warranty but told test would take over an hour then determine if it could be a credit or not. Offered $15 for $80 battery. Wow. I will go to Costco in future. read more

Why they chose this store for the online grocery pick up program is beyond me . About 5 emails saying my order was ready . Called 15 min before and confirmed the order would be at Lancaster and go to row 13 . The person who answered said yes ( the only store who does this is turner yet was not told this ) . Drove around Lancaster lot could not find row 13 so I called and the horror began . Talked to a girl who said I had no order ( it was under my sons name ) yet did not ask for my order number at all and said that this was the turner store . I told her that I had a message from this number saying my order would be ready then I called about 25 ( driving around Lancaster for about 10min ) minutes ago and they confirmed my order . Then ashe said they don't confirm the order 15 min ( I guess the call is for ??? ) they just take the call ?! She asked if I wanted to talk to her manager and I said yes and the party continued . I got to talk to the manager who also gave me all the reasons why they could not find my order . He also never asked for my order number but found out the order was under my son and told me that was why they couldn't find it( made it sound like my fault ) then told me that the order could not be at Lancaster because they are the only store who does the internet groceries , etc , etc , etc ...NEVER apologized once for inconvenience, miscommunication given when I called before . The employees never seem to know the treatment plan and I have had wasted follow up visits because they did not follow the plan and didn't bother to ask the provider. read more

I brought my car in for service to this Walmart and they broke it. It was supposed to be a simple oil change, but they ended up pushing my car out and told me that it wouldn't start and I didn't know why. I had to have it towed away and eventually got it to the dealership where I was told that the cylinder heads were blown and it was gonna cost $5000 to fix it. I went back to Walmart to get this paid for and they sent me to their insurance company which were just about a slimy as I expected them to be. Their insurance guy actually suggested that they weren't at fault. What does the cylinder heads have to do with the oil change they questioned. Well if your car goes in perfectly operational it comes out completely non-operational whatever happened inside that period of time is clearly to blame. To this date I have not received any kind of remuneration for this massive inconvenience and expense. read more

I wish I could give zero stars! I went here to get an oil change. When I arrived my car was absolutely fine and when I left all of my lights were one. I paid for the higher package where they check evvery thing top off your fluids etc. And instead found when I drove away all of my check oil, coolant etc lights where on. I thought maybe because they had been tampered with they needed some time to ralized that everything was fine but no. I took it to another place to have it check my air filter was not properly installed. All of my fluids were low. I paid for a service that was not given and when I called their customer service line was on hold for an hr! Finally getting a hold of a person all she could do was right a "ticket" to which the store manager would give me a call within the next 72hrs. 72hrs passed by no call. I reached back out to them again on hold for an hr! And they told me they should reach outto me by monday at this point it was a friday! I just want my money back horrible service never going here again took a chance and it was a BIG MISTAKE!! They are incapable for doing their job and providing their service as well as incapable of resolbing the issue. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! DO NOT GO HERE! read more

This is the super walmart of my choice. Its easy to park with lots of handicapped parking. There are no parking lot problems like the other walmarts in town. Its clean and everything is stocked nicely but it has the same issues that ALL walmarts have and that would be not enough cashiers. What gives. You have half the town shopping there and two lines open. Hopefully you arent after a quick trip in because you will more than likely get stuck in line waiting. This seems to be an issue with all walmarts though. The walton family are billionaires that make record profits so i dont see a good excuse for lack of checkout lines. read more

Today when I was thankfully aloud to use a FREE PUBLIC RESTROOM I found smiles from people who didn't treat me wrong cause I look homeless but rest assured I'm not. And I found inside a family of people by the name of Walmart! And today I found a family of people chanting that name. And it really made me feel closer to home than 2500 miles or so.
