That dreaded warning light had been on in my car for 400 miles, and I finally took the time off to take care of it. I pulled around to the auto center and went inside to inquire about an oil change. There's a limited staff, so nobody was at the desk, so I waited a bit before someone acknowledged me. Finally, I was directed to pull my car up in the designated area outside the garage and someone would come write up a work order. I didn't wait long, but was glad I got there when I did because I was told I would be the last customer. I got there at 3:30 and they close at 5:00, so plan accordingly. I was told it would be done in about an hour and a half and opted in for text updates when given the option. What to do for an hour and a half?! I walked next door to Lowes and browsed a bit before I inadvertently pocket dialed a friend I hadn't spoken to in a while. We had a great conversation over face-time for about 45 minutes. Then I checked out the plants, and before long, got a text that my car was being worked on. I headed back and played solitaire on my phone in the waiting area until my car was done. In total, my full synthetic oil change was $55, a deal compared to other 'quick' oil change spots around town charging upwards of $99. They weren't fast, but they were professional and got the job done. With inflation affecting everything these days, I look for savings where I can get it. read more

The lady running the self checkout said she was too busy to help and didn't say she would help me, just kept saying she couldn't. This is about the tire center don't buy your tires there mine only lasted 30,000 miles when they were supposed to last 45 they wouldn't honor the warranty because I didn't get my tires rotated there when they were closed for 2 years I had to get them rotated at the dealership they wouldn't honor the free rotation that I was supposed to get with the tires tried to charge me for that rotation I had to create a scene so they didn't charge me and when they rotated my tires they damaged something and it's pulling to the right very dangerous don't go there don't throw your money in the garbage they're not good your tires they're good year made for Walmart which are cheap junk read more

This store is terrible. My wife bought some blankets and dog food. Then the security guard followed her to her car and wouldn't let her leave saying she stole the items and illegally detained her with my child and my niece. Then started yelling at her. Visited this store this evening, and I'd estimate that approximately 10% of the people in the store were without masks. The store was very crowded, with packed aisles and long checkout lines, because it's New Year's Eve Day, and people are making last-minute purchases before the celebration tonight. Families of 6 or 7 people strolling through the store with no masks, couples with no masks, individuals with no mask. Store policy is "Masks are suggested for all our customers." Lots of customers shrugged off that suggestion. And in the middle of the (more transmissible) Omicron surge, too. It certainly doesn't instill confidence in the safety measures the store is following. read more

This place is a cross between a toilet and a police state. The shelves, all of the them, are a mess. There are security cameras everywhere and obnoxious signage pointing this out. Checkout shows you a image feed of yourself during check out and is predominantly self-checkout to save money on paying employees. Those they do hire can instead mill about watching for shoplifters rather than straightening the store. read more

When a supervisor, Kathy, came over she verified I was right, but still sided with his crummy attitude. I understand that during all of this covid 19 stuff that people are extra stressed out and it causes you to have less patience and less kindness. But I don't think it's an excuse. Especially if you're being paid to be friendly. That's the point of the greeter job at Walmart. I'm also an essential worker and I am stressed out but I don't think it gives me the right to be rude to people. I went to Walmart today and did not realize that they closed at 8:30 p.m. now. I hadn't been to Walmart in the evening in quite a while because of covid19 and didn't realize it was no longer 10:00 p.m.. The workers were rude in tone when telling me and other customers who arrived that they were closed. Of course I understand the need to close early and I wasn't initially rude to the workers. But when they were rude to me I turned to them and told them that they did not need to be rude and that their tone of voice was very important. And when I said that I would be giving a comment to the manager the worker said "OK I'll make sure my manager gets it and" in a sing song voice. Do not use Walmart's "Walmart to Walmart" feature for sending or receiving money. This is the biggest scam and unprofessional experience you can experience when using a money wiring service. Excuse me for being responsible and getting a new ID before the old one expires. Because of this, I now cannot receive my wired money as, Walmart doesn't accept paper ID's, even if they are from the DMV. This is unacceptable, frustrating, and unprofessional. Ordered a $200 camcorder online and went to the store to pick it up. Walmart claimed they didn't have one in stock so I walked over to the shelf and picked it up and took it to them. They cancelled my original order which took 5 days to get a refund and made me pay for it again so essentially I was out $400 for a $200 item because I needed it that night. Had a great experience in electronics buying a new Motorola Family Mobile phone. Had to go back due to a cash register phone activation issue which invalidated the phone's serial number. Melissa in electronics took care of me from the return of the first phone to even in-store activation of the replacement phone,, which included calling the Family Mobile tech support. She was very focused on obtaining my phone activation. She has great manager potential with her excellent people skills, customer service skills, and phone activation understanding. Everyone else who I dealt with in electronics had a great customer service ethic as well. Thank You, electronics crew. read more

I know it is a Walmart so honestly I have low expectations anyways but EVERYTIME I enter this store it is one thing or another. Complete lack of customer service. I have been completely ignored, and when I make the attempt to get assistance I am told "I dont know probably over there" with zero effort made to assist. Went through self checkout and realized after paying a price was wrong. The clerk approached and instead of being understanding and explaining the process I was rudely directed to the customer service counter for a refund. That line was long and took forever for someone to back up the single clerk who chose not to speak with me the entire transaction. I tried making a suggestion and my words were not even acknowledged. Or I might come here when I am missing one critical item from the dinner list and don't want to battle five o'clock traffic for one damn red onion. This is how I ended up here yesterday evening. Unlike every other person entering the store, I had a purpose, and I walked like it. Also unlike the other patrons, I don't consider a visit to Wal Mart an "event". I don't feel fulfilled when I leave, and I don't rush home to call my 6 half-siblings to tell them about my Friday evening. Unfortunately, this store seems to be a gathering place for all the people with no place to go. Wal Marts, in general, are poorly run and organized. This store is the worst--best proven by the fact that I stood in line with my one onion while the gawkers and jack-holes of Salem slowly scanned one item, stared at the screen, and carefully listened to the directions the voice in the magic self-scan box gave. Why the one employee at self-checkout stood by doing nothing is beyond me. What is also beyond me is why they had only ONE rapid check-out line open. I could get into the quality of the products here, the bad customer service, and all the controversy surrounding Wal Mart, but I won't. They will only give you up to $25 in store credit for returns without a receipt and they have no way to lookup receipts with a phone number, credit card, or identification. Of all the Wal-marts in Salem, Oregon, this is the worst managed store of them all. Horrible wait times at all registers are a true sign of the management's inability to efficiently turn customers. No matter what time of day or night you go into this store at, you are guaranteed to be waiting far too long in line while several other registers sit empty with no employees at them. Really nice Wal-Mart super center. I live closer to the one near Kuebler, but this one is so much nicer that I'd be willing to take the longer trip. They have a wall of pictures of veterans at the front entrance which is nice and they have a large selection of produce which is awesome. The bathrooms are clean and so it's the rest of the store. Also, their cashiers are very nice and work quickly. read more

This is a great Walmart. There's usually plenty of people here because it must be popular, so that's probably why there are reasonably long lines. You have wait a bit for the self-checkout as well. The cleanliness and openness makes it comfortable to be and shop around for what you need or want. Employees are all mostly kind and will help with what you need without making a face. Recently visited a Walmart here in Oakland, CA and it was much worse than what I expected when imagining this Walmart. It's smaller and has a much less quality feeling to it. As I write this review I have to remind myself, that when shopping at walmart, You get what you pay for. Yes, they have great deals on all the cool/random stuff there I see BUT I also know that they have the worst customer service at this location. On this particular trip, within 10 minutes of walking in there was almost a fight between 2 guys in one of the entrance ways, screaming cussing etc... Then as we are going to check out, we find that only 2 regular check out lines are open. ( This was around 7:00 in the evening & we had almost $200 of stuff in our cart). It took forever to get through the line to pay for our stuff. I had several coupons, one of them was for a box of free hair dye. Like usual ( this always happens when I shop here) the register doesnt " accept" my coupon. So now I have to wait longer for the supervisor to come. There was a huge line behind me, atleast 4 other people. It took so long for the supervisor to show up, EVERYBODY who was behind me got out of line to get in another checkout that had just opened up. All the while everyone walking away were giving me dirty looks, nice, like this some how was my fault !!!! The cashier had no sense of urgency, she couldn't care less. She was actually complaining to US about it instead of apologizing.The supervisor finally graced us with his presence and We finally checkout !! Now I have to get a money order at the Money Service's counter, there is one person ahead of me in this line. Again...I am in line FOREVER, the guy working behind the counter kept having to retype everything for the guy he was helping. Then he starts having a conversation about jesus, which I dont mind the topic. BUT what I do mind is waiting to handle my business while he is having a personal conversation. We FINALLY get out of there...As we walk outside to our car, there are 5 or 6 cop cars surrounding a car about 2 cars down from us....Needless to say..Worst trip to any walmart I have ever been to. read more

Had to do one of those midnight Wal-Mart runs, so this is the one I come to. I feel much safer at this one than at the Lancaster one. I really like coming here late at night because that's when they are stocking the shelves and are rarely out of anything...especially stuff I'm looking for, and because there's never any crowds. Plus, the place seems to be much cleaner at night. The only drawback to coming at night is that they usually only have ONE checker working the check stand and sometimes the wait can be up to 20 minutes to check out!! The checker I got last night was very cranky to all of us waiting in line...which made the wait even more pitterful. :/ Subway inside of this Wal-mart is open 24 hours. Parking lot is well lit with ample parking. Can & bottle refund machines are almost always broken down. Try Safeways instead. read more
