There were none stocked on the sales floor, despite the Target app showing plenty of inventory available at this location. If the inventory is available, especially for a newly released item, it's frustrating for customers to make the trip only to find that the merchandise hasn't been put out. More concerning was the condition of the restroom. It was genuinely one of the dirtiest public restrooms I've encountered--and I've seen cleaner restrooms at some questionable gas stations. A store this busy should have much better attention paid to basic cleanliness. I was also uncomfortable hearing an employee openly mocking people while talking with another customer. Regardless of who or what they were discussing, that is incredibly unprofessional behavior to witness as a customer. After three visits, this location has consistently been disappointing. I generally enjoy shopping at Target, but this particular store needs significant improvement in stocking, cleanliness, and customer service.

That alone is worth the membership. I also got their CC with the cash back and will be taking advantage of the plethora of discounts and cash back deals they have. Won't take much to get back the membership cost, keep my dry goods stocked, and my pantries and freezer full. But the best part of the experience was Josie at the membership desk. She was pure joy. She was friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and just provided the perfect guest experience. Everyone that works in customer service should have to shadow Josie for a day to learn what customer service should be. As a long time hospitality executive, someone who has written multiple training manuals and have given talks all over North America on service delivery, I know good customer service. Josie is a sterling example.

This TJ Maxx is situated in a place with many different kinds of stores (it's literally next to an…read moreindoor swim school and a Office Max) but is conveniently located off of Bee Ridge Rd. in South/Central Sarasota FL. When you shop at TJ Maxx you pretty much always know what you get: a random variety of brand names and not-so-brand names items at a decent discount (items are prices below MSRP). The store has clothing, accessories, shoes, beauty products, and some housewares. I like finding unusual selections I most likely would not find elsewhere. Recently I purchased a hair serum/leave in conditioner that does wonders for my hair that I otherwise wouldn't have known about. :) The store is always clean and well organized and the associates could not be nicer and more pleasant and hard-working. There is ample parking in the plaza parking lot. I enjoy the seasonal items offered and enjoy perusing the shoe section as well. I have found some random pieces that make a nice addition to my house and wardrobe here. For example, back home we do NOT have high-end jewelry or even branded jewelry for that matter. They legit had GUCCI rings, necklaces, earrings and the best branded sunglass case I have ever seen at a secondhand distributor store. I may have to visit a TJ Maxx each time I go on vacations now, just to see the different products logistically placed for each area's demographic. Once on a recent visit, 3-4 employees were taking up so much space with racks to restock (buggies or rolling racks both in the aisles and walk ways), no one could get through. They didn't notice because they were talking about their plans after work. With a few attempts from me and other guests failing, I had to find a new path to my destination. This isn't a one off thing. It happens more times than not while visiting this store. As for cleanliness, it is about the same. Not talking about having rolling racks out for restock here. They have an excellent variety of shoes, clothing, and housewares, and the children's section is always on point. There are so many other fun finds throughout the store too. It's in a great location near the beach area, and even though there's a Marshalls closer to where I live in Palmetto, I will gladly drive out of my way to shop at this one. Everything was kept neat and organized. Employees were friendly and helpful. I found a Saatva memory foam pillow, which was $70. Normally, these sell above $100. I have not been sleeping well on my 3 year old memory foam pillow, so was please to find this one. This store also has a good jewelry department. The lady working there was extremely helpful as we looked for sterling silver chains (not plated ones). She had told me because of the high price of sterling, they were not getting as many as previous times. Recommended!

The exemption on what can be used with the coupons is not a good experience either. I know softlines has a lot of mark up, the ones in charge need to understand how to drive foot traffic.
