This is the worst retail establishment I have ever experienced in my entire life. Congrats for ruining my image of what Walmarts "should" be. Because my opinions are now aligned with the general American consensus that Walmart just plain sucks. Why you may ask? The very worst "bottom of the barrel" employees you could ever find. I know unemployment is high but really, is this the best you can find??? How is it that these people have jobs and plenty out there are still looking?? I only set foot in this place if my life depended on it, but I've been here at least 10 times in the last 3 yrs. WITHOUT fail, consistently, 10/10 experiences were a miserable FAIL. The employees are obviously not trained in any capacity of customer service, English or even 3rd grade manners. They don't greet you, talk to you or even look at you. Ask ANY of them a simple question and they CANNOT answer it! They don't know where anything is. God forbid you ask someone who is not in "their section" a question. Not an ounce of interest in helping a customer with ANYTHING. You are on your own. There are 100 cash registers at checkout. Why are only 4 open?? There is ALWAYS an impossible line for checkout even at midnight. Cashiers taking their sweet ol time. No eye contact, no words. No hello, No thank you. Almost all of them look angry and act like they hate their job. How is this possible? Well let's look just a bit above, up the chain. Try going to "customer service". Yeah apparently these are the employees that have been awhile longer and are promoted and even train others......Just as brain dead as the others. Unhelpful, rude, uncultured. PLEASE LEARN ENGLISH!! And no, I'm not being racist here. I am a minority too. I'm saying just try to give a crap and stop being lazy. Walmart brass should blindly take a look at this store and see if this fits their image of what a Walmart should be. It's the WORST one I have been to. Why not get over the hype of how "Amazing" the deals and prices are? Head on over to Target. CLEANER more modern store, Better selection, FAST checkouts, MUCH better customer service. SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK. If Zero stars were an option this Walmart would sure deserve that. Whoever is in charge of hiring is clearly not doing their job and couldn't care less about this store or its customers. This person should be fired and I will gladly apply myself and revamp this store. As a customer, If you're wondering if an item is in stock and are thinking about calling the store ahead of time, don't waste your time. You will be put on hold a bunch of times only to get hung up on in the end. Thinking of going to the store and asking an employee for help? LOTS OF LUCK! Too many times I have asked employees for help and have been rudely told " I don't speak English!" and they walk away! This has not only happened once, or twice, but multiple times. A shopping trip that should only take 20 minutes, easily turns into over an hour because of poor or lack there of employee assistance. If an employee doesn't speak English, I can be understanding, at least direct me to someone that might be able to help me. As one previous poster wrote: "Very rude and unfriendly employees. They always say they don't know English so they don't have to assist the customers. Terrible store!" I couldn't agree more!!! Plenty of times I've asked an employee for help finding something and was told "WE DON'T HAVE THAT HERE!" when later on after my own time consuming search, I found what I was looking for. These employees should be reviewed and trained properly before hiring them. Most recently I encountered a group of women employees chatting blocking one of the entrances. I stood there for a good amount of time trying to get their attention so I can exit. It wasn't until several minutes later that I had to interrupt them to only find out that I couldn't use that exit due to the new hours. If I didn't bud into their "tea time" how long would they have kept me standing there, waiting, with arms filled with bags?! Seems like this is more of a social hour for them than a job. Aside from that, WHERE IS SECURITY?! This place is a constant stream of WorldStar HH. It's absolutely ridiculous. Why would anyone want to take their family to a store where there are physical altercations, obscenities and threats being screamed, and the occasional pot smoker. There is always a fight or some type of match going on here. It seems that many people that come here are already in battle mode and looking for fights. After standing at the bakery for 10 mins staring at the two employees at the bakery, like someone pls help me. I had to ask them if there was anybody that could help me. Crazy. Can I give this place ZERO stars? We've been coming here forever simply because of the prices (NOT the service), but today was the very last time we get abused by these people. Let me preface this by saying that I am Hispanic and my fiancé is Caucasian. This place has some of the most racist employees I have ever met ... I'm almost ashamed to call them "my people". On more than one occasion, I have seen the Hispanic employees who check the receipts let other Hispanics walk right on by without even glancing at their things. ALSO, on more than one occasion, my fiancé gets stopped and everything but frisked on his way out. They literally sit there and check almost everything in the cart. When I walk the cart out, on the other hand, I never get this kind of treatment. Reverse racism at its best! Today, when we were checking out, the cashier had an issue with my fiancé's card not having the RFID chip (he removes it in order to avoid unauthorized tracking). Despite the card having the same magnetic strip and CC# that is present on ALL credit cards. We were assured that they were unable to swipe or enter the card in manually. Obviously this is ridiculous as not all cards have this new chip. He asked to speak to a manager and was greeted by one of the rudest people this place could possibly employ. To make a long story short, she gave no reason as to why he was unable to use this perfectly functioning credit card that is acceptable EVERYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD. When he expressed this to her, she outright said, "Go there, then." Maybe she skipped the customer service 101 class that all retail employees should take. She would rather us leave our $250 worth of merchandise there than to figure out a solution. Lazy! Rude! Unqualified! If it wasn't for all the time that we already spent there that day (& our need for groceries), we really would've left everything at the counter. I honestly can't believe the way she condescendingly spoke to us. Walmart, here's a (free) tip: whoever is managing your Secaucus location should be fired immediately if you expect to keep your customers. Did I mention they've charged us multiple times for the same item on MORE than one occasion? Enough said. Get yourselves a friendlier, more patient, more diligent, more QUALIFIED staff. read more

I needed to pick up money via a money gram from this location and I was greeted by Lydia at Customer Service. She wasn't making eye contact which I can deal without sometimes. But when she called me over, "yea , what do you need". Went through the interaction about my license and stuff. The worse part was when an employee came over And asked her a question and she responded with "cunyo, "and something else in Spanish ". I don't speak Spanish but my mother and sister do so I'm familiar with that curse word. Also some other things about "malo, dot dot dot ". It's rude to never acknowledge your customer with body language and eye contact But I understand it happens the day gets busy and people get tired. This was just rude.! Then I get my cash and about to walk away and she says " not Done with you yet, wait". How am I supposed to know I have to sign something. I wasn't told. You are more experienced in what you do Than I am. Please set The expectations for the customers so they know The deal. Such a simple Experience And not a happy one. I love this walmart because it's the superstore and is open 24 hrs. I usually do late night shopping which is great because there arent many people. However just like all other walmarts that is the time all the employees are stocking items so it is very hard to get through the isles. Other then that they are pretty neat and efficient. read more

This is the best executed "grocery + Supercenter" I've ever seen -- and not just compared to other Walmarts -- compared to any other big-box retailer out there. First off, the grocery section would be a totally legit grocery store on its own. Produce is quite fresh (much fresher than the local grocery stores in Jersey City -- Yes, I'm talking about you A&P and ShopRite). Food selection is quite extensive and covers everything from your Velveeta cheese to your cage-free, organic eggs. Fresh baked bread is decent. Overall, the grocery section here is outstanding and far exceeds the quality, cleanliness, and variety of the local supermarkets in the area. Second, Site-to-Store is awesome at this location. Have used it probably a half-dozen times and have never waited longer than a minute. Some stores I've sat around in line for 10 or more minutes, so the concept is well-executed here. Bravo! Third, it's clean and well-organized with some killer deals stacked-up in the center aisles. Fourth, it's located next to a Sam's Club -- so convenient if you're an SC member and don't necessarily want to buy a 20-pack of, say, lightbulbs -- just walk next door and pick up a smaller pack at Walmart. Weekends can be crowded -- but store layout is fairly spacious so handles the crowds pretty well. If you've written Walmart off your weekly shopping rounds, give this one a try. I had trouble finding a parking spot because the lot was littered with shopping carts. I wanted to buy tomato juice but the cans were covered with dust. Then I was harassed by a Verizon salesman. I wanted to ask customer service a question, but was intimidated by the line of about a dozen customers. The sinks in the restroom barely worked. Lately, I have been coming to Walmart to save money and it has been great but today I had the worst experience ever! The system was down and we could only pay cash. I made the line to the ATM to get cash and when The cashier was almost done scanning my groceries, the machine froze. I waited and waited without getting any solution to my he problem. I talked to not one but two other managers and I even suggested to be moved to another register so I can pay. It took them a long time to finally take me to another register and get my groceries scan again. This walmart needs better managers. We have all heard the horror stories of how Wal-Mart is unfair to it's employees, small business,God, nature and has dissed your Momma. I don't buy most of that and maybe your Momma deserves to get dissed. But I can tell you I love this place. Example #1 at Gristedes I can buy a 5 pack of Crystal Light peach iced tea mix for close to $5. Here the Wal-Mart brand which is exactly the same product is $1.50. Sure deodorant is around $2. While I won't buy meat here because they add water to up the weight but their boxed and canned goods prices are ridiculously low. Add in cleaning, paper products and non-grocery goods a trip here once a month is worth while to stock up on goods. read more

I did however notice it was sorta a mess in certain departments but give them some slack they are open all day and night and probably do their organizing at night which is when i came. I went at 3:30pm (being wary of going later after reading the previous reviews) and it wasn't too crowded. This place IS huge. Good selection. A little messy. But after going in expecting to hate the place, I was pleasantly surprised. A few people, including a little girl, actually said "excuse me" to me instead of just shoving their way through. Grocery area is very large. Very nice selection of fresh produce. Going to try their New York Strip tonight. Just came here and it's the biggest Walmart I've seen. Spent over $100 on random things but this is the best place to come to shop so much good deals here that just makes you want to keep coming back. I took the NJ bus here from NYC and it was worth the trip with all the stuff they had here. Best place to shop definitely coming back soon. But just make sure to watch the prices at the counter cause I got over charged some at the counter. Have been extremely disorganized recently and the staff isn't very helpful with telling you where to find stuff. The prices themselves are as good as ever. The bathroom is clean only sometimes at other times there is a lot of dirty water and Footsteps or a icky smell. But that is only sometimes. ATROCIOUS!!!!!!!!!!! The worst customer service I have EVER experienced hands down! I ordered a vanity and another piece of bedroom furniture from their site and had it shipped to this store in particular. I called the store for over a week to try to get in touch with a manager as the first shipment got there but the second didn't for the longest. I was worried that they would send the first item back as they only have a two week limit on holding items, but I would be damned if I was going to rent a U-Haul TWICE to pick up items from the same store. I never got through. Their 1-800 number wasn't of much help either, they told me they could do nothing about the situation and that I had to call the store....what a mess. NEVER AGAIN. read more
