This is the worst Walmart in Tampa! For work avoidance they all say they don't understand English. A couple of weeks ago I was at this particular Walmart looking for some Oscar Meyer deli rotisserie chicken, the big packs. The first pack was expired, it expired in April, so did the ones following, but one said Dec 2025. So I went to tell the man who worked in the meat dept and he said he didn't understand English and went on about what he was doing. 2 other works, male and female were like 5 feet from us. So I asked him if he spoke English, he said no. So I said how does everyone in here dont speak English!?. I turned back around the the man and woman were laughing at me. I saw a man in dairy and I asked him if he spoke English and he said a lil and asked what was wrong. I told him and he had the meat man remove the items off the floor. This is literally all the time! There is no need to ask for customer service's help in this store because they all swear they do not speak English. Maybe immigration needs to go check out what is going on. I'm black and my husband is Mexican and what is crazy is they do him the same way when he asked for help in English. I called corporate and left a complaint with the rep and someone did call me back at the most inconvenient times...on a Sunday while at a family event then that following Monday while I was working. Neither time was a message left. Then someone emailed me and was responding to something about I was trying to return something. No that wasn't the issue at all! I emailed them back and never got a respond. They better be glad I'm a honest person and didn't buy the expired one and play sick and sue Walmart for selling expired food and not properly rotating. Maybe hiring people who cannot read or speak English is the reason things aren't getting stocked properly. read more

The pharmacy has gone back to being a pit. It had been a pit, some years ago, when you could more or less rely on incompetency and a bad attitude from just about everyone in it, including the pharmacist. Then a new head pharmacist came on about a year and a half ago, and it was like night and day. Recently, she was transferred, and in less time than you can say "where's the exit?", the behavior of the remaining staff went back in the toilet. They will call you and tell you your scrip is ready, then, when you travel there to pick it up, they'll give you half of it, demand your copay, and tell you you have to come back some other time, pay another copay, and then they'll give you the rest, insurer rules intended to protect you be damned. When you object, they will curse you in front of other customers, and tell you to get out of the store. Firings are necessary, but being Walmart, utterly unlikely to occur. Find a different pharmacy if you can. read more

Great plants at Walmart. I'm always at the garden center checking out the plants I know my lawn guy goes crazy every time he sees another plant but I can't help it. The garden is where the good energy is for me. Walmart has some great prices too but I only wish their check out lines were faster. I don't like the self check out as this is taking jobs away from people. read more

Wellllllll...it's Walmart and I am guilty of going when in need of something on my way home.It's a newer location and I'm sure it's a welcome addition to the neighborhood for convenience purposes. This location is on East Hillsborough located not far from I-275 in what is considered "Old Seminole Heights". The first problem you will come across with this store is the parking lot. It's very awkward and always packed. It's on the side of the structure which and it's sometimes difficult to enter if you are heading eastbound on Hillsborough and need to cross over oncoming traffic. Every other Walmart I have been to has a traffic light at the main entrance to the lot. This one does not. Second point of conversation is cleanliness. While this store is newer and the edifice looks clean, the inside is just like any other Walmart...somewhat of a hot mess. I stopped in the bathroom on my most recent visit and found a stall that actually had a lock on the door. Had to clean up after whoever desecrated the toilet before me. EW. And to put a cherry on top, there was a half eaten cheeseburger hanging out on the toilet paper holder. SUPER GROSS. The crowd is the usual Walmart party...pajamas are acceptable dress code, chaos in the aisles and checkout lines from here to China. I got to witness a lady fight in which one woman was screaming at another for asking her to buy baby formula for her. Apparently it was a cry for help gone sour when the other lady realized she was being schemed. Awkward. But yet typical Walmart etiquette. Overall, if you need something, go get it and get out. Go when it's less crowded (early afternoon, weekday, middle/end of the month) but not late at night. Thats when the crazies really come out. And don't use the bathroom. Pee before you go. This store needs more staff and better management because there is always a very long line to checkout and the aisles are messy and poorly stocked and the store layout is confusing and hard to navigate. It's poorly lit and the energy of the employees is low. The parking lot is difficult to maneuver in also. Overall it is an unpleasant experience to shop there and always disappointing. read more

Ordered items for pick up on Thursday. The app told me it would be ready before noon on Friday. (I knew that the store was closing at 2pm for covid cleaning until Saturday morning. Items were never ready Friday. I tried to call. No one picked up even though it was before 2pm. I tried again thinking it was busy. Someone picked the phone up and left it unhooked on the desk. I could hear them working on something in the background. Tried to call back but of course I couldn't get through. The app then stated hours later that it was delayed. Fast forward to Sunday, the day I can actually pick it up. App still says delayed. Called again after two calls I finally got through to costumer service. The lady cut me off, was rude, did not validate my frustration, and transferred me to shut me up. I then talked to Moleek in the back in pick up who was very nice and calming. She made a call and made sure my order was still in the system and hopefully it will be ready today. I don't think I will be coming back to this location after this. They just so happen to be the only one that is carrying this item. read more

This Walmart is pretty good as far as Walmarts go. Parking is easy, I park on the side where the drive through pharmacy is. It's quick and easy to get in and out of the parking lot this way rather than coming through the main entrance. There is always a cop sitting out front and an armed security guard inside the door. I feel like this is because they are trying to cut back on theft but honestly it makes me feel safer. There's a great craft section here and I try to get my sewing supplies here when I can, especially pillow inserts because they're really cheap and just as good as what you would get at Joann or Michael's. The produce is great and the meats are fine - I would always prefer Publix meat but sometimes you just gotta go with Walmart and that's OK. If you go mid-morning or early afternoon on weekdays it is usually not crowded at all. Also, there are some very nice people working at this location. They notice you and they seem happy to help. I guess this is my go-to Walmart now! read more

I live two blocks from this Walmart. Every time I have gone there (4 times since it's grand opening) I have left my cart while waiting in line. The wort shopping experience I've ever had. No one who works there is ever around to help, the last time I was there, no lettuce or tomatoes. Worst produce dept. One of the 4 times I was there, I experienced 4 brawls within the store. I would rather drive several miles the other direction to Target or shop at Publix for my groceries, even though it's more expensive. read more

Literally drove 30 minutes to get my pickup order that I had already paid for and they had emailed saying was ready for me... just to get there and the nice men at the front tell me the store is "closed for cleaning".... At 4pm on a Friday? What in the world. I called the pickup department... no answer. I called the store customer service, who forwarded me to the electronics department (why? Who knows) who forwarded me to the pickup department... was on hold for 10 minutes and then got hung up on. Honestly such a huge waste of my time. This location's service is garbage. If the store is going to be closed, communicate it on the apps and website. And definitely don't let people place same-day pickup orders for a closed store. You all don't know what people have going on. read more

I had a fantastic experience at this Walmart. Everybody was super nice and helpful. But I want to give a special thanks to Justin who works in the frozen food area. He saw I was struggling with several items in my hand, and asked me if I would like a cart. Stopped what he was doing and went and got the cart and brought it to me. I was so impressed and very grateful for his helping me at that moment. Great job! He made the store an extra $130 because with a cart I was able to do all my shopping. He's the one that changed my mind and I spent more. Give him a raise! read more

Horrible Walmart. Poor selection and poor sanitation. They are more concerned with my toddler daughter having a mask, in while sitting in the cart mind you, than keeping their store clean. Have you seen their bathroom? Your mask isn't going to protect you. They had 3-4 door attendants that are just there to tell you to put a mask on. We should be able to think for ourselves as functioning adults and shouldn't need to be forced to follow guidelines. read more

This store opened almost two years and I've been a steady shopper since. The last time was today. These detractors must live in a parallel universe as I've seen little of what they're complaining about. I found an empty bottle and a couple of papers in the lot; that was all. The floors were all moped and clean and most shelves neatly stacked. I bought from the grocery and beauty departments and got a shot at the pharmacy from a very knowledgeable staff. Nobody was rude and I was asked a couple of times if I was finding what I needed. I was checked out quickly and assisted in getting my bags into my push cart. There have been times when I've encountered a rude employee-and I'm certain that I've probably been so as well-but they have been very few. This is a busy store in a low-income neighborhood that really needs it and I hope it stays. read more

I was at Walmart on 1720 E Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33610 about an hour ago. I proceeded to go through the self checkout when 3 employees surrounded me and told me I couldn't go through because I had more than 20 items. They were very aggressive acting. I had already started scanning my items when they approached me. I was with another person and we had two separate orders, we just used the same cart. The cashier should have inquired about that instead of getting an attitude with us. I told them that was fine and took items out that went over 20 and told them they could be returned to the shelf. It wasn't my loss, just the stores. I told them that. One of the employees said "no it's not our loss." I had a face mask on due to COVID-19. The female employee said I called her a bitch, which never happened. I won't be back. Hopefully they will train their employees better. 3 employees approaching a customer and surrounding him for having 10 more items through self checkout is a bit extreme. I asked the employee that accused me of calling her a name for her name. She said "you don't need to know my name." Extremely rude. You would think they would train their employees to have at least a little bit of respect for customers. read more

This is one of the worst Walmart stores I've ever been to. I was seriously insulted. I was accused of stealing because I 'spent a long time in the store, because I used the price checker machine and because the original tags are under the clearance stickers' they then picked and chose what I paid the 'right amount' for(I. E. Anything with a clearance sticker was obviously supposed to have been full price) those items were then taken from me n they put the'refunded' amount on s gift card so now I still have to spend that money at a Walmart. I'll be dammed if I go back to that one though. read more

Law abiding citizens avoid this store inside is full of employees that obviously have prejudices they don't look you in the eye and treat you like there tolerating you no smiles no greetings. I apologize to management what it must be like for you.Outside the store you might end up with a traffic accident scam and if so know that security and TPD not able to take report on private property.Actually TPD staid with me for my safety till after perpetrators were gone.Security guard didn't bother to even get out of car. I came for underwear and came away with bad taste for Walmart and I feel no one cares about my business.Something else you have a large selection of underwear but my choices were few because of all the packages that had merchandise ripped out of them.Your task must be large sorry for you employees who care. This is a new store that is less than one year old. Yet the store is filthy, the parking lot is grimy and weeds have taken over the meager landscaping. The store and parking lot are full of unsavory characters that are not shopping. Although the store is 5 minutes from my home, I choose to drive 1/2 hour to another location or to Target. If I absolutely need to run a sudden errand, I make sure it is before dark, my purse is securely closed and I am fully aware of the fact that my car may be vandalized or as has happened, scratched. This Walmart is not helping the neighborhood but rather creating a seedy environment. Awful! read more
