Very nice after the remodel but is very small compared to the Walmart in the neighboring town. I come here very often to do random shopping because I'm cheap and well yeah, that's pretty much it. There's three total Walmarts in Vacaville, which is crazy and makes no sense, but this is the only store that has items other than household/food items...the other two are only "Neighborhood Markets" and for some odd reason, the Neighborhood Markets are more expensive so don't bother going. Customer service is okay, but it's terrible at the return station because the lines are always freakishly long. The hot deli area is also very slow. The pharmacy is pretty amazing when it comes to customer service--at least from the actual pharmacists. Um...what else... There's a McDonald's in this location, it's pretty clean and fast. After my experience, I was used to check out their yelp page. I was not surprised to learn that it had 2 1/2 stars. I don't think they deserve that half. The main reason I write this review is because the customer service. This lady, an associate, her name is Raquel helped me at my check out. I can understand it is early morning (9:45) that doesn't mean you have to lash at you're customers. She was tossing things in bags, hitting buttons as hard as she could and didn't even smile once. Her attitude was very bad, and customer service is key to having a good business. The last thing is that the bananas are usually spotted. I don't see them change them that much. I was really distraught when I stepped in poop at this Walmart. Was it from a dog, some mentally unstable person?? Who knows!! I came home to Clorox wipe the poop off my foot, and then I was like... yup, I don't want to clean these sandals, they're going straight into the trash. But the Devil is in the details. The Vacaville Walmart is relatively small compared to other Walmarts. Though it has been remodeled to include a full grocery section, it doesn't have the overall store-wide selection or raw square footage of a Walmart Supercenter. For contrast, just wander over to the Walmart in Dixon. Since the remodel, this store has cleaned up a bit which was a much needed improvement. Other than that, it's a Walmart much like any other. This 1 in Vacaville isn't the biggest or the nicest or the cleanest, but it's got a bunch of stuff for cheap. Ultimately, that is what anyone goes to Walmart for. read more

This place is terrible... The employees all seem miserable to work here no matter what time of the year it may be. When you ask them a question they're totally annoyed. They're very unprofessional as employees and co-workers. While I was shopping around I overhear 3 employees having a work-related conversation. I used to work for Walmart in the early 2000's, so that may color this just a bit. Vacaville is probably one of the oddest stores I have been in. I'm guessing this used to be a "division 1" store (a store without groceries) which was morphed into a supercenter. However, this presents numerous problems. First, there's only one entrance / exit. Second, departments are in odd locations - pharmacy is in the middle of the store adjacent to grocery, electronics is located next to the tire and lube express. The store needs some serious stocking help. I went here on Thanksgiving, as I needed some clothes due to my forgetting a bag, and I have no clue what the folks were thinking. Everything was pretty much blocked off, and you could forget about navigating the store. However, I think part of this is because they didn't do a very good job of integrating the grocery section when remodeled. The meat is in the dead center, across from the pharmacy. Yesterday after checking out, I forgot an item in my basket out in the WM parking lot. Knowing that we are in prime "holiday shopping" season I didn't expect to get through to anyone over the phone that would be able to help me find my purchase but, I figured I'd call anyway. After holding for a really long time, then transferred, hung-up on and recalling again I found Thomas from Electronics answering my second phone call. Thomas began to ask the pertinent questions and asked if he could place me on hold. At this point I really didn't expect much. After a few minutes he found my item and I confirmed the sku# from my receipt over the phone! Thomas made me realize that there are still good employees in retail that will go the extra mile. (I am more of an online shopper these days.) I hope to bump into Thomas soon as I continue to shop at this WM for my holiday shopping and that his lead and manager see this so he is recognized as someone that knows how to take care of the customer. Even with a receipt and tags still on the item. This policy disproportionately affects low income people who buy clothing there. This policy was created to pad Wal Marts bottom line profits. I tried calling them to ask a question and they never answered their phone. I called the number and then you are suppose to push zero to talk to an associate. I tried on Oct. 20th and 21st. I called about ten times between the two days. The phone rang for 4 minutes and 48 seconds each time and then it disconnected. I don't know how you can run a business and not answer the phone. I was in Walmart shopping for my grandmother who has cancer and going through chemo. Let's start with no carts, and was told if I needed one I would have to go outside and get one. I grabbed a few things my grandmother needed, then went to pharmacy where I stood in line as two associates were talking to a friend it appeared. I was completely ignored. Apparently it takes two associates to help or socialize with a customer/"Friend". I was asked if I needed help. I asked if I could get the Walmart brand Novalim (insulin) I'm diabetic. She asked me which one. I said the fact acting insulin. She asked which one is that, I said I'm not 100% sure that I needed help getting the one I needed. She consulted the pharmacist who approached me and asked me which insulin I needed. I said I would like the fast acting Novolin insulin. Mind you, this is Walmart's brand insulin an there is no need for a perscription from your doctor, it's OTC. The pharmacist began to argue with me and tell me that I should know which insulin I needed and that most people know what they need before they ask the pharmacy. I Told him, that I was not sure which one was the fast acting and which one was the slow acting. There is Novolin (R) and Novolin (N). They are boxed almost identical. There is a difference between the two. I said I would like the fast acting one. He then again argued that saying fast acting does not help that there are other insulin's that are considered fadt acting like Humalog. I said I'm aware, I've been diabetic since the age of 13, that I just want the Novolin OTC insulin which of the two is fast acting. He then began to argue again about I'm not saying it correctly, that it's not considered a fast acting insulin. I told him, the fast acting is clear in fluid and the slow is coudy. He the began to tell me he can not open the box and look, it's against the rules, but than opened it and I saw the clear one and he sold it to me. Very disgusted with this pharmacist and my experience with this Walmart employee, or a representative of Walmart. So I leave and go to check out for my other items. I pay, get my receipt. I approached the door, watched two people ahead of me walk out with items and were ignored by the door clerk. I get closer and mind you, I just had an eye procedure done and am curently wearing an eye patch over my right eye. She leaves my field of view, I'm out the door and she smacks the glass and yells receipt sir. I tell her, I've paid and am not going to show a receipt for items that I now own. It's not my job to aid you in your loss prevention. Not to mention, two people just walked out with items and carts and you said nothing to then. I feel as I was targeted and harassed after giving my hard earned money to this conglomerate shit hole of a store. They do not care about there customers. Customer service is horrid, in fact this is the worst experience I have ever had and spent lots money doing so. I will be filing a lawsuit and faxing, emailing copy to corporate. Walmart is a joke. One star is a gift. If I could give negative stars I would. Don't shop there, don't waste your money. Wow! This place definitely deserves the low rating! Went to do a return and there was 20 people in line with one cashier who was stuck on a customer. I asked a guy near buy if they were short staffed. He looked at me and said "I don't know I do pick ups not customer service". We waited. I could hear people getting frustrated in line as it was backing up to the point people had to move to let people in the door. Then two other people showed up and all 3 were on the cashier that was stuck. Two that show up were Michelle and Janet. Janet is supposed to be a supervisor. After the 3 of them continued on the troubled cashier Janet goes walking off leaving still two on one register. (Huge line) Janet walks off as she is walking through the crowd a lady asked if there was more help. Janet replied rudely " you have two" I then said yeah but their both on the same register! She continued to walk off. This person has no business in a supervisor position! No clue about customer service or what it means to manage. I didnt know you have to park in line. So I parked in a parking spot and walked in. By the time someone helped me, I went back outside as they instructed and there were 5 cars in front of me. I may have cut someone in line upon speaking with the service guy. Technically, I was there first! Lol He quoted me 2 hours. 2 hours for a fucking oil change?! 4 employees there dicking around, 3 bays, and max 4/5 cars in front of me?! 2 hours? Okay. Decided to wait. 2 hours later they hadn't started on it. Right before they took my car in, I changed my mind. I already wasn't happy with the service, why would I give them my business? So, I waited 2+ hours for nothing. I drove to Cherry Pit. Small as hell shop compared to Walmart. 5 people ahead of me, and it took 45 mins max! Cherry Pit FTW! Walmart Electronic Department: 6/5 stars. Elvis deserves way more than working for Walmart. He is the reason I always visit electronics even when I don't need anything from there. Customer service at the self checkout helped me track down a manager right away , manager helped me track down the young man, Larry, working the cart shift earlier when I was there. I'm a grown lady I know the rules, I also know when a young very unhappy employee by the name of Lolly Very rudely demanded I put my mask back on The truth of the matter was I started having one of my hot flashes with a panic attack I was 6 persons deep in a line to the cash register 15 people lined up 2 cash registers open, on a Sunday afternoon. Lolly was her name who in the hell did she think she was shouting at me PUT IT ON RIGHT NOW!!!! My god really??? Sweat pouring off my face geeez. We always pass by this Walmart every weekend on our way to Sacramento. They rearranged the place and put new machines to self pay. When I scanned my item, the sound is very faint so I didn't noticed that I scanned it already and it doesn't show what you already scanned in the screen. I was in a hurry and paid... not until I went home and noticed in the receipt that I doubled scan the same item twice. My fault too but beware and always check your receipt before leaving. read more

I find that my experiences here are always hit or miss. This particular Walmart was a "normal" one until it converted to a Super Center Walmart a few years ago. The food section is a tad smaller when compared to a store that was built as a super center. Since they squeezed in the food section, the rest of the inventory has been cut pretty much in half. No self check out and with the limited amount of space, people are usually forced to check out the Dixon store or the one in Fairfield for items that can't be found here. Note: go to the one in Dixon! :) The ladies I've encountered at the customer service counter for exchanges/returns are polite and courteous; can't go wrong with workers like that. Sometimes the cashiers at check out show that they aren't really enjoying their job (or maybe having a bad day?). I'd rather come to this smaller location over the Fairfield one, and not just because of convenience, but the "ghetto" people of Vacaville are more tolerable than the ones in Fairfield. Just wish they went ahead and started from scratch and built an actual Super Walmart instead of converting the old store. We stopped here on the way to an A's game. I had made a point to always avoid Walmart, but got vetoed by the others in the car. Okay, so they really do have a TON of crap here! Clothes, food, tents, toothbrushes - there's a lot o' stuff. As a consumer, I like to know where I'm shopping. No matter how low the prices, I have to ask myself - Will I go to Big Nazi's Discount Grocer? Or Auntie Semite's House of Antiques? Nope. I won't. Walmart is known to treat its employees poorly via low wages, no benefits and a refusal to hire people full time, which is how the prices stay low. I ordered 2 boxes of coffee, their website says it was delivered, however it was never received. I contacted customer service and their reply was it shows delivered. Yeah I see that but we did not get it. I have cameras all over my house and the day it says it was delivered fedex Wes NEVER here. Attached is a picture of a cashier who was being extremely and openly rude to an elderly lady who was trying to pay. He and some other guy were complaining about how long she was taking and giving her open glares. He then complained to us about it after she left. And was also curt with us.
