    Walmart Full Front View
    Michael R.

Walmart has evolved over the years with "superstores" containing a "market" grocery department, an outdoors/gardening department, a pharmacy, FedEx shipping location, and a greater variety of clothing, with a few quality brands (George). They have been trying to establish their stores to be competitive, especially with Amazon and Target. However, if there's an issue with a third party seller, unlike Amazon, the customer service for their online purchases might as well not exist- they're useless and are not buyer friendly. Their 3rd party sellers are an accumulation of an abundance of businesses, all permitted to misrepresent what they are selling. For instance, if an item comes in two varieties, a limited edition, and a regular edition, the seller is permitted to advertise that they're selling the limited edition without any disclaimers, and when you don't receive what you were rightfully expecting, Walmart makes you deal with the third party. You're told by supervisors that there's nothing they can do, contact the seller. You can email, call, and the seller is permitted to make every excuse to not provide a return and full refund. I've experienced issues on at least 4 occasions before Their online service is not in sync with the stores whatsoever. Walmart represents that stores have in stock items and rarely to never update their inventory, so customers are constantly inconvenienced driving to a store to purchase a specific item. Walmart expressly indicates not to contact the store to check on inventory. The aforementioned system is reflective of the way Walmart runs their stores- a complete disaster. Yesterday, I drove to 3 different locations, all indicating online that an item was in-stock. It was a Funko, a brand of pop culture and historic figures for nearly any TV show, movie, sport figure, mascot, ad icon, etc. Not only wasn't the item in-stock, but I looked up over 85 other items that were indicated as "in-stock" "in-store purchase only" and all but 7 were actually on the display. Beforehand, I looked up all the locations to see which ones indicated the item was in-stock If that isn't false advertising, I don't know what is. Other retailers indicate clearly that they are out of stock. Walmart doesn't do that. Why? Either they want you to go to the store and make other purchases, once you realize the item you came for isn't there, or they just don't care. I asked several employees who have repeatedly seen this happen to customers and to them personally at their own store. When the Covid pandemic was at it's height, i could understand the difficulty in keeping many items accurately updated on a daily basis. But, isn't their technology that can approximate by everything a SKU is purchased how many pens remain by what was in stock? Many other retailers do a fine job, such as Target, Home Depot, etc. but Walmart wants a pass. As I walked to the Custer Service counter, the employee who was multitasking and doing the job of at least three, was empathetic and told me several recent instances of that happening with large items that were nowhere to be found in the store. She was unable to even find what aisle the brand of products was located. There's several other commonalities at any Walmart- they are very understaffed, there is never an employee within 60% of departments when you need assistance, their "price "checkers" throughout the store are usually not working, a majority of registers to check out are not open, there's carts with boxes of items to be stocked in the aisles, simply piled up at least 5'-6', and no one in the department is around to restock. Another common issue is little to no organization, especially when it comes to social distancing. People are standing within a fit or two of one another. I waited outside the same Walmart a month ago and a person standing two people in front of me, 3rd in line, was allowed to enter without a mask because he told the employee that "it is against my religious beliefs and my pastor told me I have the right to not wear one." He was let into the store and was on his mobile phone through the time he was checking out. It's unacceptable. Lastly, Walmart is trying to compete with supermarkets for ordering your items online and scheduling a pick up. Instead of trying to be what you aren't and doing so many things poorly, Walmart needs to go back to essential requirements of properly running a retail store and providing customers a good experience. If they can't get that right, they'll never be a store that you know you can rely on nor have a good experience.

Dear front desk lady, promise we would have re-parked. We are good citizens. You just startled us with the screaming and attitude. Not how you treat customers. I get that there are tons of shitty people who do shitty stuff, but today you were the one who acted like that. Curbside is curbside I get it, but there are no laws prohibiting us from parking there because it's not "disabled" space. I needed something kind of summery, and since everyone has fall/winter stuff now, I headed straight to sale rack. I thought it odd that I greeted and asked one sales associate how she was before she asked me. Later, another sales associate started a dressing room for me, and asked for my shoe size. I thought that was odd too, but told her anyway. By the time I was ready to try on what I had picked out, the sales associate had filled my dressing room with complete outfits. I guess that's what they do there-- a personal shopping service-- but I really wasn't interested in trying on black jeans and $100 satin pumps (which, I admit, were very comfortable). Nothing I tried on did the trick for me, but I did want one dress in a different size. I couldn't find the associate from poking my head out of the dressing room, so I got dressed and found her. They didn't have the size I needed on the rack, so she went to the back to look for it. I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, another associate asked if I was being helped. I told her what was up, and another associate said that the one helping me was actually on the phone and probably forgot about me. So someone went back to look for the dress and came back seconds later-- no dice. On my way out, the original associate came back out and apologized, saying the district manager was on the phone. I'm sure the DM is very important, but I can almost guarantee that she would have liked for a ready-to-spend customer to be helped.

They have a "must wear a mask in the store policy" which is also, I believe, a PA requirement. But the cashier, in the center of the store, had her mask around her neck. We asked her to put it on and she ignored us. We asked again and she ignored our request. I asked a third time and she rudely said I'm behind my plexiglass. A small piece of plexiglass in one place doesn't offset the fact that she's in the center of the store surrounded on all sides by customers and open space. Claire's makes a big fuss about safety, and following the guidelines, and requiring customers to wear masks, yet allows their staff to break these guidelines and be rude to customers. Not only is it bad business, and inconsiderate, but it is not compliant with PA safety requirements. It's a shame, I was in with my daughter and had plenty of other things we wanted to buy but didn't feel comfortable being there so left. I'll be cancelling my order (I had shipped it to store) and taking my business to a store that cares about customer safety.

The manager assured me they could. After the manager picked out a suit a shirt and a tie, and took my measurements, I went up to pay. The manager kept ringing things up, concealing the printouts in his hand, then crumpling them up and throwing them in the trash. Eventually, he printed out a receipt and told me my total was over $600. I was surprised, since I typically get suits at Jos A Banks in Princeton for $200-$300 range. I shrugged it off, assuming I was getting raped, but what's a few hundred between friends? I left with my receipt and an assurance my suit would be ready on Friday. (As an aside, I work in Warminster, PA, but live in Princeton, NJ.) On Wednesday, the manager texted me on my cellphone to tell me the suit, which had to be shipped, did not arrive, was somewhere in NJ, and he had changed the shipping to have it delivered to my house in Princeton. I would need to drive it to him when it arrived (1.5 hours each way) so he could have it altered. I kindly told him he was out of his mind. He then told me he would arrange to get the same suit from Philadelphia himself and I just needed to bring the suit (which was coming to my house) to him on Friday. On Friday, I brought the delivered suit to work, then took my lunch break to bring the suit to the Warrington store to pick up my ready suit for the wedding on Saturday. I didn't have time to try the suit on, but foolishly assumed it would be fine. I drove to Virginia Friday night with the suit, planning to wear it at the wedding the next day. When I got to the hotel, I tried on the suit, only to find one pant leg an inch too short and the other pant leg MORE THAN AN INCH SHORTER. (Photo included). I was horrified with the situation and texted the manager (on the same number he had been texting me) to pretty much tell him how royally screwed up this was. His response was, "Sir, this is my PRIVATE PHONE. If you aren't satisfied, bring the suit back on Monday for a refund." I, of course, apologized for how badly I mistreated him. The next morning, I called the closest Jos A Bank to where I was. The manager in Arlington, VA had me come right over. He tsk tsked at the horror that was my suit-pants and said they were cut WAY too short to even be altered to fit me. Amazingly, he had the same pants in my size. He had them fitted and tailored while I waited. He then did an even exchange for the pants I brought and refunded the difference between PA taxes and VA taxes. I made it to the wedding with a decent suit that didn't make me look like an idiot. In summary, Jos A Bank in Warrington, PA: really bad. Jos A Bank in Arlington, VA: OUTSTANDING.
