I had previously reviewed this store as being quite average, and found it hard to imagine why anyone would shop there. I stand by some of the specifics I mentioned, but now, about a dozen visits later, I understood where I was wrong, and *how* Grocery Outlet is a regular money saving stop for me now. One thing I touched on in the original review was comparison pricing against Walmart. I still believe that in about half the cases, if something Grocery Outlet has is also available at Walmart, it'll be cheaper at Walmart. But, conversely, about half the items will be cheaper at Grocery Outlet. It's also true that some products are closer to their "best by" date at Grocery Outlet, but that almost always results in it being drastically cheaper. I think the methodology to use when visiting Grocery Outlet, is to make it your *first* stop, with the understanding that you will be picking up select items there, and then also stopping somewhere else (yes - the savings are big enough to justify the cost of driving elsewhere). I now know the items that are regularly less expensive at Grocery Outlet, and I also know that there are going to be fantastic deals on spontaneous discoveries that will easily substitute for something that will be more expensive elsewhere. For example, frozen pizza, frozen meals, and snacks, are now things I buy exclusively at Grocery Outlet. The store is well maintained, more so than I first reported, and the employees are friendly and helpful - especially once you get to know them. You walk in to nothing but deals! If you love saving money in groceries, soda in Philly and even kids bedding- come here! I always save a ton of money when I shop here and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I found a Fortnite bed in the bag here for my daughters bed for a whopping $25- what a steal! Prices were low on some things and normal grocery store prices for others. The only things I saw I was getting for a bargain were holiday items like pumpkin spice coffee and popcorn. It's definitely my favorite grocery store. You definitely have to watch dates, but the prices are so much less than any other grocery store. I wouldn't recommend the produce as it's not very fresh but you could run the Wegmans or Aldi's for that. Can't beat the prices. read more

I visit the Grocery Outlet at least 3 times a week and have always been satisfied. Recently, they have been employing the nastiest, rudeest people. The cahsiers act annoyed, like you're bothering them. They hardly speak to you and lately, have been making the customer(s) do all of the bagging. When you've saved over $100.00, they're supposed to ring the bell and announce it over the loud speaker, but they do not. They take your money and don't even mumble out a "thank you". I don't know where they're getting these employees from, but they are the worst! I complained once to the "owner" and she was just as rude. I don't know what's happening to this store, but if they keep being rude to their paying customers, they will lose them. With today's economy, you would think they'd be welcoming to any and all customers. read more

A lot of a little or a little of a lot. I can't decide. Cleanliness: 5 out of 5. Selection: 3 out of 5. I wonder if they were in a larger space, would they have more of a selection. Prices : can't grade. Some prices were great! Some were the same as other name brand grocery stores. Example: Party size bag of tostitos, $4.29, that's average. A 6oz package of smoked salmon (lox) Nova, 6.99, 12 or $13.00 at name brand stores. Fresh fruit had some good prices, fresh veggies didn't. You just have to walk around. It's not large, won't take you hardly any time. For us, it's 8 miles away, 20-30 minute drive, we won't be returning. read more

Their app shows you you have a coupon but, when you get to the store, it's not there anymore. To pull up the coupon again, you have to uninstall the app then reinstall it ......go through hoops to sign in again with them sending you codes. Sometimes it's not worth the $5 because you have to step out of line and it gets quite embarrassing. read more

This is an excellent discount grocery store, if you know how to shop and you know what you're looking for. You can score some excellent deals here now and then. I live a 30 minute drive from this place, but since this is the closest one near me, I occasionally come here. I certainly think that it's worth it to come back every few weeks just to see what deals are going on. One thing to note is that you should always check the expiration date on the things you buy here. Sometimes, that date is tomorrow or even today. But other times, it is a few weeks or months out (especially for the frozen items). I have not bought any fresh meat here yet, but I found that I got a lot of packaged goods and frozen foods the few times that I've already been here. You might notice that there are a lot of very big, boxed items. It seems to me that some of their inventory comes from Sams Club or BJ's or Costco (basically, wholesale membership clubs) where these size items would be found. That isn't true for all of their items, but for a lot of them. It's unfortunate that a lot of their inventory varies, because I have found some deals here that I would never be able to find anywhere else. One thing that I still can't stop thinking about to this day is the 4-pack of Frontera chicken fajita bowl dinners that I got here for $8 total, when they are $4.69 EACH at Whole Foods. I never saw them at Grocery Outlet again. Speaking of which, they do have a decent selection of high-quality, health-conscious items if you are interested in that sort of thing. You don't always have to spend big to find some great options at the grocery store. Grocery Outlet is evidence of that. That being said, I personally do not utilize Grocery Outlet for ALL of my shopping needs. There are some things I like to get elsewhere, but I am not opposed to trying them at Grocery Outlet at some point in the future (such as the fresh meat that I mentioned). And although I do not use Grocery Outlet as a primary source for my groceries, I certainly think that you could. They do sell it all, from kitchenwares to baked goods to fresh foods to frozen foods, and more. I am a regular customer and I will return here every few weeks. I only wish that there were more Grocery Outlet stores near me. I even turned one of my friends on to this store by sending them pictures of the absolutely crazy deals that I have found before. They now shop regularly at a different Grocery Outlet near them, as well. read more

I love this store, great prices, friendly employees, staff, ..they have different stuff than other supermarkets, I go there a few times a week ,because they get new stuff in... and if wait ,you miss the great bargains, I follow them on facebook, so i dont miss the deals . just curoius , why are the bathrooms routinely closed way before closing time? not very customer friendly . nice produce section as well as the back wall with diary and meats .you can get some good deals on products.we have saved $ on cereal big time , and the frozen section is packed with vegetables,breakfast entrees and sandwiches, even found some " diet" frozen small meals at good price . the bathroom situation is troubling as we travel a good bit to get here after work . don't get it .be warned . read more

I've gone to the grocery outlet twice since it's opened and I'm honestly really impressed. It opened in the former location of Aldi and is pretty spacious inside. The first few aisles are home products, health care cleaning etc and then it's frozen and then all your pantry staples. The entire back of the store has your produce, meat, dairy, etc. For the most part I'd say about 80% of the product are in face priced cheaper. I love following them on social media because I feel that I find out about the super discounted items there. For the most part the items all have far off expiration dates (excluding the fresh items - produce, milk, eggs etc.) and so I've never had a problem with anything going bad. It is really clean and I always see staff working. They also have a fair amount of checkout lanes. They provide you with bags and carts - both for free! No quarters or anything (like the former Aldi). This is definitely a spot I'll continue to go to for unique items and pantry staples but it definitely is not a one stop shop, at least for me, just because they don't have all the items a regular grocery has. There are lots of name brands though which is a plus! I also love that they do a giveaway with how much you saved ! Super awesome ! read more

I would highly recommend this clean, well stocked, well organized and incredibly priced store. I am so happy with the fantastic bargains I found, and I have continued to shop here at least once per week. I find the items I shop for on a regular basis, at a much lower price, and also have found new products that I've enjoyed! I have a large family, and have found this grocery outlet to be an excellent place to shop for fresh fruits, veggies and snacks. Also, a great place to find gluten free food options, health supplements, protein bars and vitamins. The staff is friendly, hard working, helpful and the checkout process is quick and efficient. I am VERY impressed and will continue to shop here and recommend! So glad we have this place to shop! read more

Been to this nice little grocery store a couple times since they opened. The opening game weekend had a lot of great prices and lots of corporate type people to help with the grand opening. Now that the corporate types are gone the prices seem to be creeping up. Meat prices are kinda high. Will start checking back with the other stores. Today one of my items would not scan, it took a young girl 5 minutes to come out of the side office to straighten it out. Hopefully this little store makes it. read more

Good first impression. The store is small, very clean with a decent variety and excellent prices. Don't compare it to Giant that has a huge variety of everything and you can get a full food order. No deli or roaster chickens. Where this store shines is the cheap prices on the basics you use everyday. I was able to fill the entire shopping cart with many deals and expected to pay about $150 at checkout. To my surprise the total bill was $78 dollars. One word of caution. Many of the products especially soups, canned goods and frozen foods have a short expiration date. This is probably why the prices are so cheap. It's still a good value but you must check the dates. The store is small, but that is better. They have a little bit of everything so its quick and easy. The store is clean and well orgainized, also the prices are great if you compare everyday items like milk, eggs and bread. I shop here all the time, love it! read more
