This Walmart was renovated, and at least 20 brand new self checkouts were added yet they do not allow customers to use the selfcheck outs. Walmart Associates have to check out customers at self check outs; it literally makes no sense. The cashier lines are super long while there are almost empty self checkouts. This Walmart is soooo ghetto! It's soooo unorganized. The employees have attitudes and are just rude! This is a "neighborhood market" Walmart which are smaller than the regular Walmarts- you would think it would be organized and neat. It's NOT. TLDR; this store will only waste your time. A previous review said this place was ghetto and he wasn't exaggerating, unfortunately. I asked an employee where I could find an item (rv sewer hose) and and she pretended to not speak English even though I literally heard her speaking English right before I approached her. Luckily, I speak Spanish so I asked her in Spanish where I could find something and I don't think she liked that because she then said I don't know anything about that and turned away from me with a really nasty attitude. There was another employee nearby that then asked yet another person to help me look for something that turns out wasn't even in the store. This all could've been resolved in 2 seconds lol but there was no effort until the last person. So I had a bag of Christmas bows I wanted to buy before I left. The checkout lines were insanely long. Even when a self checkout kiosk opened up, the store employee let someone with a cart full of groceries that had just walked up go ahead, even after making eye contact with me. Can't help but to laugh at how ridiculous this store is. read more

9:00 AM went to checkout and only 2 lanes open with 8 people in each lane and probably 50-75 employees in the store doing anything but taking money. Went back at 4:00 PM and just 2 self check registers open out of 20 with 15 people in line and another 6 maned lanes open with about the same number in each lane. I had 1 item. I decided I didn't need it that bad. This place is really a freak show. read more

I've had overwhelmingly negative experiences at this Walmart in the past so I usually don't shop there anymore, but made an exception today for some items that weren't available elsewhere near me. To be fair, there's always a lot of action in stores that sell food on holidays like NYE, but this, just like my previous visits, was chaos. Truthfully, the greatest scares came in the parking lot. Shopping carts are strewn everywhere, making it difficult to navigate the perpetually busy lot. A cart blocked part of a hairpin turn that left another car and my own virtually no room to slide past one another, but cars behind each of us prevented us from backing out or moving the cart. It's a big and expensive change to redesign a parking lot, but this location needs it. For me, saving a few dollars on groceries doesn't outweigh the cost of needing to repair my car from a potential parking lot fender bender. The interior was chaotic as well and finding a shopping basket took five minutes alone. I'm honestly still not sure where they're supposed to be stored for customers to grab; I've always just scoured around the self checkout until I find one that was left behind. Considering so many people visit this location, it has to be doing something right, but personally the crowd is part of the deterrent. Entryways and exits are often so crowded that waiting is required to get through. Unless massive structural improvements are made, I'd recommend the Target on Miller Park Way for any shopping you might want to do. It's a lot cleaner and calmer and offers many comparable products. read more

Due the the sole fact they took back a 100lb AC that I bought at Walmart.com, had someone come get it out of my vehicle, did not hassle me about not having the box or anything. Come on guys, shopping shouldn't be this hard. I should be able to walk in, grab a cart, fill it up, pay for everything, and leave. I really wasn't expecting this much resistance to this plan from you. Everything was going alright until I got to the 4th item on my list. It was inconveniently placed way too high to reach. Per the signage, I went to ask for assistance. Long story short, after having to ask two different people , and being told twice that someone would meet me in the aisle(one of them was a manager no less,) I was left waiting for someone who never came. Wow. Where do I begin? I thought miller park way was a nice area of town. There's new restaurants, freshly built buildings, and the area always seemed to be a decent area. This walmart is GHETT-O. It's run down, way too big, and the employees are slow, rude, unkept, and incompetent. I just wanted to spend my hard earned cash on a videogame. I couldn't because the woman who opened the game case didn't trust me with it, so she had to escort me and the game up to the cash register up front. She dropped it off at some unknown register and walked away and I had no idea where she went or what she did with the game. I spent twenty minutes in line and finally gave up. Meanwhile, everyone in there is buying groceries with food stamps and billions of coupons so the cashiers have to run every coupon and it takes forever. Skip this one, folks. Go to target... It's like walmart, but a notch or two less trashy. read more

i really haven't liked this store since it opened for the same reason i loathe it now. it's dirty, merchandise is unkempt and the people who work there are RUDE and inattentive. i spoke to the manager about my concerns of not being able to find anything, the dirt and crust on the floors and the staff that didn't care. she said she appreciated the feedback and walked away. i hope everyone knows they can get better service at the target store across the way and have a clean and competent environment. i will never even look at walmart on 43rd ever again. in fact, i think i would go to kmart before walmart and that's just nasty. read more

HORRIBLE downright incompetent management at this store. Employees shuffle around and respond with "it might be in aisle so and so" when you ask for something. Clearly they have no idea what customer service is. Carts with stock on them litter the aisles at all times during the day. Shelves with half the items out of stock. Ah, Wal-Mart. I'm on a budget, so it's kind of required of me to shop here (If there's a comparable, cheaper, and more competent place for heavy student loan bearers like myself to go, help a girl out!). I just moved to the area and because it's pretty much a one stop shop, boyfriend and I decided to do our grocery shopping here. We finish our shopping, unload our selections at the register, and wait for the cashier to scan them all out. Then our bottle of fruit juice happened. A la Vanna White, the cashier holds up the bottle and turns it around for us to see and says in her pseudo-saccharine condescending voice, "There's no barcode," and sets the bottle aside. Boyfriend and I made the assumption that she was either attempting to find a SKU in her register or waiting until she was done to call someone over to find the SKU for her. No big, we ain't that thirsty. But alas, after she read us our total, the juice was sitting alone, away from its other carefully-selected and bagged brethren. Me: "What about the juice?" Cashier: (still oh so pleasant) "There's no barcode." Me: "But we'd still like to buy it. Can you look it up?" Cashier: (totally baffled) "Oh no, I'd have to go do it myself!" Boyfriend and I give her the same look, look at each other, and leave ASAP. Now, I've been a cashier, so I understand the ubiquitous frustration that is poorly barcoded merchandise. But never in my six years of doing so did I ever turn money away from the store due to something COMPLETELY OUT OF THE CUSTOMER'S CONTROL. If there was no one to get a SKU for me, I ran and got it myself. She AT LEAST could have told us that we'd need to go grab another one instead of just using it as an opportunity to strike a pose with a beverage while subtly berating us for our foolish, foolish choice. I mean, seriously? I know it's only juice, but it's the principal of the thing. Do your best to help me spend money in your store! I'd probably be less angry, but then next time I went back (yes, definition of insanity and all that) I bought a gallon of milk that I didn't realize leaked all over me until I got into my car to leave, and no way in hell was I going back in there. Of course, I'm sure I'll have to go back again, but I'll be checking my barcodes and milk gallons carefully, and I certainly won't pick this place if I'm thirsty. PS: whoever stocks the cosmetics, please get some better Cover Girl eye shadows. Your current selection has had the same amount of stock for three weeks and it all looks like it was run over. Worst Customer service! Never returning here!!! I heard stories from this walmart, but never experienced it myself until last night. We were shopping for our family party. Found a pinata that was all beat up asked the cashier if we can get a discount. She told us to go to customers service my sister in law went while she finished scanning my items. When she comes back she told the cashier in customer services they say to call the manager. At the moment we spotted a manager and asked for a discount and then we asked her. The manager "Amanda" said 2 dollars of price. We told her there's no price and her respond was "then I don't know what you want me to do"...really???? Wtf is your job. Thank God a men named Jeremy I believed helped us out more than she did. When exiting the store we noticed another employee being rude to a customer, all she was asking was of it was a 24 hour Walmart. NEVER COMING BACK. read more

I ordered a TV through Walmart.com last Sat. 2/10. It's now 2/17 & my TV isn't there YET. It was outside Chicago (100 miles from here) on 2/12, went to Gary IN for a day then to Beaver Dam, WI (40 miles from here) for the last 2 days. I made the mistake of having it "for pickup" which I now know takes 9-10 days to get to the store. Next time I'll try the 2-days TO my house. read more

I don't usually give 1 star reviews but this Walmart deserves one because the staff is not nice. I don't mean 1 or 2 people weren't nice, I mean every single staff member we encountered was not nice. It's like they all woke up on the wrong side of the bed and decided that it wasn't their job to help customers when they had any questions. This store is the worst. Miller Park location first they charged me twice for a $20 bag of dog food and bagels when I went back they had to review their tape at the register they had to talk to the assistant manager and after 40 minutes of waiting they finally came back and said okay we can refund your money I was really upset because I had to wait all that time when it was their error so I spoke with the manager and she was understanding she gave me a $20 gift card to use with my next purchase when I went in to use it came up as expired when I clearly had a date of November 21st on it manager came over again and this time said just bring your cart I'll take care of it over here and stop it she stopped to help other people along the way while I was waiting with my cart of groceries she ended up going into some back room two different times to help somebody else and then finally came to the customer service and it kept saying the card was expired and had like two other people helping her and they got a different card and it still wouldn't take it while I'm waiting kind of impatiently at this point and then after another 10 minutes they finally cleared something I'll put it through and it went through it just is ridiculous the customer service is just lousy there but I do like the items they stock so I'm kind of stuck read more

worst walmart in the u.s.a.we came here at about 11pm.there was a gang of employees hanging out front,loud and big.all were kinda young wearing their walmart aprons.i was very surprised a store manager would let this occur.it looked like a street corner in the chi.the inside was just as rouge.employees loud.some working some chilling and others talking in small groups.i was,nt really bothered by this fact but i never seen a walmart so disorderly.i would,nt visit here expecting the best help,i was very surprised at how everyone seemed so young.they better get a hold of this place and soon. read more

I try my best to avoid this walmart but since I live downtown, it's either this or the one on Capitol. Both are extremely neglected and most of the employees couldn't care less if you have a question. They also need better security and some sort of cleaning crew for the parking lots. I've came to this Walmart 4140 West Greenfield, and I was searching for gardening products and etc. I came across an associate that was on break and he was proud to help. This review is just in regards to the pharmacy at this Walmart location. I have dropped off two different prescriptions at this Walmart on two separate occasions, and I'm never going to again. Both times, the head pharmacist on duty (which has been the same person both times) has made extremely condescending, judgmental, and completely uninformed comments about my prescription. Obviously, it was a completely humiliating experience to have in front of everyone else in line. And totally uncalled for, since this is a prescription/dose I've been taking for 5 years without any problems, written by a doctor I have seen for years on a very regular basis. On this last occasion, he even felt it necessary to delay my prescription getting filled for reasons he refused to explain to me. I really hope that no one else has had to deal with this- I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. In any case, I'm never filling my prescriptions here again. read more

Now that the grand opening is over, it's back to business as usual. The staff was nothing short of rude, and made sure you knew they didn't want to be there. I'm giving it 2 stars for the selection and fast check out. My advice is go into this store knowing that most employees don't care one but about helping you, and are there simply because they need a paycheck. read more
