I have been shopping at Meijer since they opened. But in recent months, online order pick up has been slacking. Wrong items, charged for missing items and calling and talking to someone is a challenge in itself with all the automated selections. But I've stuck it out since their pricing is good. Last night I decided I'm done. I went to pick up an order in my slotted time and waited 40 mins. I tried to call and was put on hold for seven of those minutes just to be told "the guy that is doing online orders took a break". What? She said they were getting someone to help with my order immediately, but even that took another 10 mins. This has been an ongoing issue. I usually pick up during the day when I am the only car there and even that seems to take longer than it should. Sorry Meijer! I feel I've given you a ton of chances to turn it around and do better. I'll pay the higher prices at Pick and Save moving forward, as my time is too precious to be waiting for groceries. read more

Cream Cheese Persian: For a grocery store bakery, I've been pretty impressed with the doughnuts at my local Meijer (although the selection is sadly wildly inconsistent). A Pershing/Persian is a doughnut that is similar to a cinnamon roll, but is made with doughnut batter. The cinnamon flavor is sweet and relatively subtle with no uncomfortable burning/heat to it. Cinnamon granules can be seen in the dough after taking a few bites if you look closely enough. I found the dough to have a nice thick and chewy texture while also being light and pillowy. There was an abundant amount of sweet cream cheese icing on top that was almost too plentiful and rich, almost. The chocolate drizzle and chips, not only for decoration, aided in preventing the cream cheese from being too dominant. Meijer's Persian tasted just as good as it looked, making it Doughboy approved. My experiences with the pharmacy have cast a dark shadow over my overall Meijer opinion. There's no way to get them to put all my prescriptions into one pick up day, so they are scattered over the month. At my age, that's pretty inconvenient. Worse, they will not automatically check with my primary care nurse practitioner to get refills for heart, blood pressure, or diabetes medication when my prescription end, instead I have to remember to call them a couple of weeks before I run out. This is complicated with 6 prescriptions on 6 different days, some on 3 month prescriptions, some only once a month. These aren't narcotics, there's no street value to them. When you call them, you get an excruciatingly cumbersome and insulting automated answering system ("Meijer cares about your health!" says a robot voice that very clearly could not, in fact, care less). When you get the choice to ask a pharmacist about your prescription, I guarantee you will NOT get a pharmacist. They don't answer the phone. Ever. Instead, you will get someone pretending to be a pharmacist who has absolutely no training whatsoever who will act like he or she understands your prescription question or problem and will never identify as NOT a pharmacist until you specifically ask why they don't understand anything about the medication you're questioning. You have to demand a pharmacist, be very insistent, and they still won't take you seriously until you lose your temper. I've tried talking to them, on a pretty regular basis, for months, and you're not going to get any answers until you put your foot down, get past the first two or three people you're transferred to when you ask for a pharmacist, until you get a real pharmacist and then the only way to get them to listen is to be at least stern, and full blown angry is better. When getting your prescriptions also be aware that the poser asking "Do you have any questions about your medication" is NOT a pharmacist and cannot properly answer any questions. I have made the mistake of asking, and the response is "the directions are in the bag." You might be young enough that you wouldn't remember, pharmacies used to not be like this, they were smaller operations where real pharmacists would take full responsibility and would never let their patients run out of prescribed medication. They would easily set up prescription refills so that a once a month visit was all that was needed for even a dozen medications. And they really cared, they didn't just have an automated recorded voice say so. We really don't have a choice, CVS and Walgreens are worse. read more

As far as stores go, Meijer is fine. They do have interesting selections of foods and little specialty items. Their sushi is made fresh there and they have some fun choices of certain cheeses and specialty fruits. The store is kept clean and the workers seem friendly. I found a great deal on some clearance racks for Thanksgiving items. Overall, I feel like the store is worth a stop if you're in need food or want to make a little food tray for a gift or party- you'll find nice items for it. The prices are slightly higher than a Walmart or Aldis but the fruits and vegetables and other things seem to be fresher. I'd give it a 3 1/2. Take a look and see if you find something special at the Meijer store. read more

I shop Meijer some what regularly and not as much as I did when they first came to the area but I do like the store because I can only describe it as a little more upscale than a Walmart but the same style store. Compared to a Walmart the grocery store department is way better with a bigger selection and a fresh butcher meat counter complemented by the fresh seafood counter. The deli is better than the average grocery store because they have a limited variety of the Italian meats like prosciutto and mortadella to name a couple, sometimes you just crave an Italian meats sandwich. It's a general merchandise store with all the departments like electronics, pharmacy, automotive, kitchen, beauty, clothes, home wares etc etc. Honestly the deli is what brings me back even though it's run poorly with no number system and understaffed so the wait can be agonizing while watching workers appear to avoid helping customers off to the side. read more

This is exclusively for the online ordering and pickup. I ordered 7am for a noon to 1pm pickup. Don't ever use Meijer's pick up service at Oak Creek! I called inside to see where our order was and the girl wouldn't even look! She said, "Did you get a text?" I said no and she said we would have to wait. As soon as I got there I texted per the sign and even typed a description of our car. First the guy brings an order for a Scott to our car. We told him our name and he never came back. Our time passes and I call the store again. The lady says "We had no idea you were out there?" Even though I called and texted. She loaded the stuff into the car. I'm sick so my hubby helped load it not paying attention to the items. She confirmed it was for me. I'm not sure what identifiers they use but it wasn't our order. And still no text. According to the website it was still in process. We got no text until we were halfway home that our order was ready. I'm thinking "that's strange!" We get home and open the trunk. It's not out order! I feel like I'm on a bad episode of Chopped! None of this food is our order! But I get to keep it. We are a bunch of sickies in this household and now I have to have someone shop for us. This order that isn't mine has to be about $200. They are refunding my order of $90 but I'm done! This is going to take 3 to 5 business days! Why would they ring it through knowing it was a mistake? Ben in that department said they were refunding the order. But that didn't happen. Their layout is pretty different than the Meijer I used to go to regularly in Greenfield. This Meijer location is very nice, clean, and organized with a pretty good selection of items. Their app is very convenient to use while shopping for the "Shop and Scan" feature. Workers don't usually go out of their way to approach or interact with you while you're shopping, which is preferred in my opinion. The employees watching over around the self-checkout lanes are typically really good at being quick and helpful when needed. The greeters at the doors when you walk in or leave are always very kind! read more

Since Walmart has deteriorated badly I would stop here and get some essentials toothpaste, underwear and things that you can't really find at pick and save. My biggest issue is price mismatch. I'm kind of indifferent to Meijer: as in, I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. A combination department store/grocery store, while not grossing me out exactly, just seems wrong. I don't want live bait (worms!), live animals (fish/lobsters), clothing and raw meats sharing the same conveyor belt and then being touched, one item after another, by people who do not have a chance to wash their hands in between handling items. While the variety of items was enormous, the quality of those items was no better than any other store; there was just a bigger (or, in some cases, smaller) selection to choose from. The prices throughout were not much higher or lower than Target, Woodman's, Walmart, etc. What DID I like? The blue carts. they were new and they were pretty. There were even different styles of carts to choose from: one big basket or two tiered baskets. The sushi appeared fresh, as did the meats at the deli. The baked goods were ridiculous, and I'm glad I could restrain myself, because I'd probably weigh about 600 pounds if I had bought everything that I wanted. The liquor department was a nice size for a grocery store, but was made up predominantly of wine. On each end of the registers, near the doors, were sets of self check-outs. What DIDN'T I like? The department store area had kind of an odd vibe to it, to me. Most people in the store were over by the groceries, so maybe that had something to do with it? There definitely were fewer, if any, employees on the department side. As I said, I'm pretty indifferent to this store. I decided to check out Meijers today because I was off work and figured it wouldn't be so busy. It. Was. Packed. I half expected this, but I wasn't prepared for it. First of all it's really easy to find and to access. The entry on Drexel Ave is a controlled intersection. Bonus! There is a through way that runs along the front before you enter the parking lot. I assume this is for easier access to Waterstreet Brewery and the future City Hall or whatever is being built to the West. I'll say this for Oak Creek - it sure has changed since I moved 3 years ago! My first impression was similar to when I first visited Woodmans way back when. This place is huge! From the outside it looks about the same size as WalMart or Sams Club. A giant building with a sprawling parking lot. I visited during mid-day but I hope it's a well lit lot at night. I did notice some cobblestone looking sections throughout the lot. It reminds me of the newish water reclamation system that I've seen at parks and zoos. I am curious, if anyone knows the answer. As for the store itself, well, it's very large inside and everything is laid out fairly well. I did have a hard time navigating through some of the aisles just because of the sheer number of people there. It's very reminiscent of Walmart. In fact, aside from the signage I'd swear it was the same. However, the shoe section has some good deals on name brands. It's more similar to Kohl's in that respect. I was never too far from an employee either. The store is well stocked on help! All who I encountered were very friendly and eager to help out. And for a super busy shop that just opened, it was clean and well stocked. They were on top of things, that's for sure. While I did find some deals-mostly due to grand opening specials, the prices are no less than any other store around. In fact, I found many items that I'd normally purchase to cost more here. To me it's not worth the drive if I'm not saving money. Also the mperks app doesn't seem to be working at store level yet. It's similar to Target's cartwheel app. When I checked out, the poor woman had to manually type in all the discounts. If you live in the area, it's just another place to shop. I don't think I'll be back though because it's too far and not cost saving. Also, they sell fish. There is no reason to sell fish here. Even most WalMarts stopped that. This is my second review with mejiers (previously a Caucasian man refused to help me because I'm Asian) and honestly I am done with this store. I had a pick up order for groceries and I've waited out at the parking lot for 45 minutes and received a notification on the stating my order was picked up. However, I was out there and no one was present. I went to customer service and this lady told me that a woman named Christina told me to go to the backside of the building...where all the trucks and the warehouse is at. Why would you make a customer go to the backside of the building rather than coming to me in my car as originally planned. Anyways, I get there and I'm in a freaking warehouse at the back of the building like where tf am I. Luckily the people there at the receiving end were nice and helpful and eventually I ended up getting my groceries in the warehouse and drove off. I hate this place and recommend everyone to go to Woodman's. Save your damn money and time hahaha read more

After a few visits I find the grocery layout to be horrible and congested with confused shoppers, and the self checkout and regular checkout to be super lackluster. On a recent visit I had just a few grocery items to pick up for a recipe, and it was impossible to find things, and even more difficult if an old couple were stationed in front of the items I needed, taking their time as if they were deciding on the name of their first born! The beer aisle appears to have a lot of selection, but I couldn't find the six pack of cans I wanted that are ubiquitous throughout Milwaukee. Their selection is super "bottle heavy" for some reason. People here don't know how to do self checkout, and normal checkout doesn't offer paper bags, although some might find the carousel o'plastic bags amusing. I hit up the Starbucks on the way out for some coffee beans, and then waited forever because the manager had to run to the Dairy aisle to get gallons of milk and the checkout line wasn't being manned by the nonchalant barista. I had this at 3-stars but meh, 2-stars on yeh, Meijer! read more

I love the staff that works at this location. The lady at the door at night is super friendly and nice. What I don't like is being forced to use self checkout. Tonight there was not a single cashier available when I was ready to check out. At 10:00pm you have a couple of supervisors up front, and a self check out attendant with only self check out available. The poor girl must've felt like a ping pong ball bouncing between those of us having issues. After her 3rd trip over to me, I just wanted to be checked out by a cashier. A live person- but nope, I got the "nobody wants to work. They called in" speech. Apparently the only person who knows how to run a register in the whole store called in. After speaking with one of the supervisors, who also blamed the circumstance of only having self check out due to lack of willful employees and call ins, and for her lack of customer care, I've decided that is reason enough to not shop here. 2 supervisors together up front, and a self check attendant bouncing between customers- and neither supervisor is over there willingly pitching in to help their associate, or by jumping on a register to alleviate the line that is now at self check, or so that if a customer is willing to wait in line for an actual cashier-they can still have that option- and that my pointing out to her that the level of customer service has fallen too low for me to come back here, and all she can say is "ok" are things I saw and know that go against every fiber of customer service. There is an expectation that when you go to a store to purchase something, a cashier will ring you out. That's part of the customer experience. I'm not a huge fan of self check- I'll use it depending where I am. I don't like the ones at Meijer's, but I was already there and had my stuff before I noticed they didn't have any cashiers so, I started to ring things up, had issues, and I'll be honest- after I work all day and come into a store to grab a few things- I just want to get in and get out. I understand that places are having issues finding people to work, but you seriously could've saved me as a customer if one of your supervisors had offered to simply jump on a register to ring me out. Surely a supervisor would be able to do that, yes? I am not expecting too much. Customer service is still universal and exists. I know, because I provide it at my job every day. You are expecting too much from your customers by leaving them absolutely no choice but to use your self check out.... Especially when they may prefer a real human. You are also expecting too little from your supervisors if they can't manage to think on their feet and do what's best for your customers. It's a sad day, Meijer. Check your cameras at about 10-10:30 if you doubt this. Do better for your customers in the future. They deserve it. read more

I now do most of my weekly shopping at this location. Compared with the other Meijers I've visited, this one is a step above. It's clean, generally well-stocked, spacious, well-lit and offers items not always available at other grocers. I keep coming back because it's just so easy to get everything on my list: solid produce (even some of the less common stuff), wide selection of personal care items, large department of cleaning supplies and baby care items, and a toy section which is how I'm often able to bribe my preschooler into shopping with me. I think the prices are almost unbeatable, lots of great sales and I love the option to use coupons and rewards in my app. Very easy. Several cart options including one that's easy to put my baby carrier in. Room for improvement: occasionally they're sold out of every last avocado or russet potato or red pepper. That's cuckoo bananas for such a large grocery store. No bulk foods. Major drawback. Checkout takes FOREVER with a cashier. I almost exclusively use the no limit self checkout because it's faster. I should not be faster than a trained cashier, but here we are. Occasionally it's tough to find help when I need it, though there's always a greeter at the door. Overall, a pretty great place to pick up most of the items on my grocery list each week. read more

Completed my weekly shopping here out of convenience as I was heading back from Chicago. This is like many of the meijers and includes the normal Starbucks, groceries, home products and clothes. The layout of this store (at least the grocery side) is a little confusing but once we got the hang of it we were fine. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot as today is Sunday, but the store over all the store did not feel congested. Also, all the shelves were fully stocked! This made me really happy as quite a few grocery stores run out of items on sundays. The customer service was also fantastic. We were greeted by every employee we came into contact with and employees were great at helping us find items. The employees that helped us find groceries took us to the exact spot where our item was located. I really appreciated that because I hate when you have to run around a huge store to find an employee and ask where something is and the employee just gives you a general vicinity (no help). We will be returning here if we are in Oak Creek and in need of groceries. read more

Where I'm from I don't have Meijers stores so this was new to me. They have everything you could want, full grocery store, bakery, meat department, toiletries, pharmacy, floral, Starbucks, deli, clothing, general merchandise etc. I would compare it to a a Walmart but way nicer! This was my first and last visit to Meijer, maybe other Meijer locations are different but this one is so bad I will never go to another. The lay out of the store doesn't make sense, it is hard to find what you are looking for and there were a lot of Empty shelves. I also found a lot of produce and dairy items that were long expired. I went to this location because I have a long hotel stay and it was close by, I asked the cashier if she could double bag my groceries because I had to carry them about a block, she rolled her eyes and didn't do it so I had to go to a different register that was closed and do it myself. Another employee was walking around by the check out lanes and complaining about how hungry she was and wasn't "doing no work till I eat". I also think Meijer is expensive, especially for the low quality and lack of choices. Bad experience all around. read more

Best Meijer! Very helpful nice staff, well stocked, clean, attractive displays. The store is well lit, and there's enough space to move between aisles. Excellent produce, fresh meats with great sales, and great deli options. We won't buy lettuce anywhere else, the Meijer Extra Sharp cheddar cheese is a great price and has more flavor than most 'designer' cheddars available. This is the only place we can find a lot of products, e.g. Oui Mango yogurt or Racconto pasta sauces. Their excellent Ace bakery breads sell out early (wish they would stock more!) You can even find Newborn and Premie size baby clothes by Carter, Gerber, Cloud Nine. The quality is excellent - we've bought oval window boxes that are still in great shape after years of use. Beautiful flowering plant arrangements in nice baskets, whole sections of natural materials for decorating - wire and wood baskets, fabrics. mPerks helps us save even more, and its really easy to use - signup and signin with your phone number (smart!) The staff at Oak Creek are much better than at the other Meijer stores in the area. l called Greenfield for a product, they said "I don't know." and "I can't do that." Called Oak Creek, and it was, "I can put that aside for you." The store is 20 miles from us, and worth the drive. read more

Just to be clear I hate grocery/department stores. I don't buy groceries at Target or Wal-Mart, that's not what made them what they are today. But being new to the Meijer experience I wasn't really sure if it was supposed to be a grocery store or a department store. The thing is, the grocery selections are much better than the other stores I mentioned. And the department store part of the store seems adequate for a department store although I don't really go to Meijer for anything other than food and some toiletries. So I can only relate to those departments. The prices on the dry groceries and the liquor is higher than my favorite grocery store next door so I never buy any of those items at Meijer. I do like the deli, the fresh produce and the meat sections. The staff at the meat counter is friendly and helpful. I've never needed help in the produce section so I can't comment on the employees there. I would like to mention specifically the deli employees. It is such a mixed mess. Sometimes I get this guy who takes my order, cuts the meats and cheeses exactly as I've asked, but there's no nice way to put it. He is a d*ck. He's nasty and unpleasant. But he gets my order right. There is another guy there who doesn't know the difference between 1/3 pound and 3/4 pound of deli meat and can't get it right ever. I have to request changes to what was given to me multiple times. He always seems confused and doesn't seem to understand numbers. There is a woman there who doesn't know the difference between Black Forest ham and Black Forest turkey. Sometimes I get two turkeys and sometimes two hams. At least she gets the weight right. After experiencing all three of these people I will take the nasty guy. That way I get what I want. Now I could go somewhere else but I live 6 blocks from the store. I could go to that other large grocery next door, but their deli just plain looks unpleasant and unappealing there. At least at Meijer there seems to be a higher quality and a wider variety to their deli selections. The prices are pretty reasonable too, even better if there's a sale. The store manager is really nice and many of the other employees are very friendly. The checkouts can also be a painful spot. I hate all those coupons that print out after I make a purchase and I hate having to log into their rewards system and choose my coupons before I shop. What a pain. When I heard that Meijer was going to be coming to the Milwaukee area, I was excited. As far as I'm concerned, having some competition in the marketplace is a good thing. This location opened on 8/6/15. I went and checked it out a couple of days later. Even before going inside, I could tell that this place was huge. When I got inside, the first thing I noticed (besides the long line leading up to the registers) was the spaciousness of the store. You will definitely get your exercise walking around the place. Meijer is more than a grocery store. They also sell clothing, electronics, toys, pet fish, and more. The staff is very nice and helpful. I have to give them credit for working to get the checkout lines moving in a timely fashion. Staff would direct people from the long line leading up to the cashier stations to one of the checkout lanes. The cashiers were pretty efficient with getting people checked out and on their way. The grocery section of the store is awesome. They carry a very nice selection of items. They also have a large liquor department, and their bakery, deli, meat and seafood areas are also very nice. The seafood section has a tank with live lobsters in it! As nice as this store is, it is missing one thing, in my opinion. It does not have sushi. I looked high and low, and no sushi was to be found. Meijer - The latest addition to the local grocery store market. - Grocery Near Me - Oak Creek, Wisconsin

Writing this review on behalf of my sister because what happened to her was super rude and it really grinds my gears... My sister went to meijer yesterday on her way home form the hospital with her 7 month baby who just had surgery ( it was a day surgery so nothing life threatening but still a surgery none the less). When you need diapers and baby food you need to stop. She goes in , gets what she needs and checks out with a person. Stops at Starbucks to grab a coffee and goes to her car. She gets baby in and situated and then starts to put her bags in the trunk. A lady from meijer comes running out and directly accused my sister of stealing the groceries. My sister said she went to a person and paid for it. The lady wanted to see a receipt. She said she had to dig through her bags and the baby bag to find it. The lady tells her to hold on goes back inside . My sister waits a couple minutes and when the lady comes back she has the receipt ready and the lady just comes out and says oh never mind it was some other lady with a baby. And just goes back in. My sister never got an apology from the lady or anything. Lady didn't even care she had a 7 month baby who just had surgery who had to stay sitting in a car longer after she was being accused of stealing groceries. Super unprofessional the way the meijer employee chose to handle the situation. Like who is going to steal groceries and then go grab a Starbucks coffee, like really??? And she paid through a person NOT self check out ... You suck meijer. read more

Overall, I like the Meijer stores in both Greenfield and Oak Creek. An issue I have, and I guess this isn't limited to Meijer stores, is the long wait at the self-checkout lanes. I was at the Oak Creek store recently and was flabbergasted because every one of the self-check outs was being used by customers with huge cartloads of merchandise. The line behind me continued to grow as we all waited for these large orders to be processed by customers with HUGE amounts of merchandise to check themselves (and invariably have a problem, requiring customer service to help them out). There is no option for express checkout lanes for small orders anywhere else. It seems that limiting the number of items to, say, 10-15 items at the self-checkout would be something to consider. read more
