So I can appreciate a friendly checkout clerk, but when you go to the self check out I always thought that you get the benefit of not having to deal with talking to someone, or someone checking out your items for you. I'm sure her intent was in the right place but the attendant for the self checkouts would seriously not leave me alone. In fact I'm pretty sure she scanned about 50% of my items with her own personal scanner. I did not give any inclination that I wanted her help. I honestly was just having one of those days where I would rather be left alone hence the reason why I went into the self check out. I can appreciate her enthusiasm and willingness to help but sometimes you got a let a guy do his own thing. Other than that this places just like any other Walmart. I think a lot of these people take their job way too seriously. Good people overall though.

IF THERE WAS AN OPTION FOR FUCKING ZERO THAT WOULD BE IT!!!! Today at 19:03, I bought a ink cartridge when we got home opened the outside package and the inside was already open and there was no tab to pull where the ink would come out. Put the thing in my printer and it said it was empty. At 21:30, went back to the store to return it talked to Bernice(Mgr) she stated she couldn't do anything for me cz it was open even if I didn't open it. I told her that was BULLSHIT! She said, "THE ONLY PPL WHO CAN HELP YOU NOW IS HP!" Went and bought another $70 fucking dollar ink cartridge "AS IF MONEY GREW ON TREES!" When I was back there I talked to the gal at the register that checked me out at first. She stated that ppl have been returning ink all the time and walked up to talk to the (Mgr) Bernice again and she even explained that this has been happening ppl have been returning ink cartridges she could careless that her employees telling her that this has been happening she asked speak to another (Mgr) Matt even and they just had no regard to anything the employee said. I have never had such poor customer service. On top of that it was as if the employee that was helping me Ms. Mgr Bernice was pissed at her for doing her job and helping a customer as you are told to in Walmart.

Takes longer to check out than it does to shop! But some things are just cheaper here.

This place never has enough employees it seems. The customer service counter and check out lines are a joke.

I've always enjoyed shopping at Camas Market and appreciate what they bring to our community…read more I see it differently than a traditional grocery store. To me, it's a specialty market with a thoughtfully curated selection of products, including Eastern European specialties, Russian and Ukrainian foods, imported goods, and an incredible assortment of pastries, cakes, cookies, and sweets that are difficult to find elsewhere. As for concerns about expired products, I can only speak from my own experience. A while back, an employee actually caught an out-of-date item during checkout before I even noticed it. They immediately removed it from the shelf, apologized, and offered me a discount on a replacement item. What impressed me wasn't that a mistake had happened, but that they took responsibility and made it right. No market is perfect, and occasionally an item may slip through from a distributor or be overlooked. What matters to me is how a business responds when an issue is brought to their attention. In my experience, Camas Market has always been gracious, responsive, and committed to taking care of its customers. I continue to shop there because I value the unique products, the wonderful bakery selection, the sense of discovery, and the people behind the counter who genuinely seem to care about the store and the community they serve. Not every market needs to compete on size or price. Sometimes it's enough to offer something unique, welcoming, and worth coming back for.

And I probably left ~$10 savings on the table by buying the brands I preferred. The store is never a mess and the people working here are consistently good. It feels like a "we're in this together" kind of environment where we want to buy groceries and the workers seem to want to facilitate that, and then everyone goes on with their lives. I can say for 100% certain that this is the least financially predatory supermarket I know of. Produce is the biggest example. When stuff is in season, you can tell they buy a ton of it and try to turn it over fast and cheap. Very good quality limes were $0.25 today. I don't even think bubble gum machines cost that much anymore. But I also worked in retail and can tell they do the same with dry goods as well. They look for good deals like we do, and instead of using some complex algorithm that gets their CEO an extra million, they just make sure they're making enough money, and if they are, they often give people the opportunity to buy stuff cheap. The loyalty programs at other stores will never earn my loyalty like a grocery store operating in a neighborly way will.
