If it would allow me I would give negative stars. First off, I dislike walmart with a passion, but they do carry some items that you cannot find elsewhere and so I do go for those items from time to time. It's a necessary evil. Otherwise I devote my business to Winco and Fred Meyer. All walmarts are usually out of at least one item I need and I always leave with high blood pressure. This walmart is atrocious. It is the Hell of all Hells that walmart has to offer. Where to start? There are always "questionable" and homeless people hanging out in the front. You don't feel safe. The lighting inside is dim and horrible which furthers the feeling of not feeling safe. The layout has no rhyme or reason to it with tall shelves facing other shelves perpendicularly. It feels claustrophobic and like you are in a maze. Poor use of space, and to top it off all of the product is in disarray with tons of holes. I don't care about the lack of staff and checkers, because that is a given in this company. What bothers me about this store in particular is the uneasy feeling you have entering, being in, and leaving this store. I think I'll drive further to go to a different one. read more

By far the worst Walmart experience I have ever had Kelley the assistant manager was the worst. She was completely rude when I came to her after a problem then tells me a to call her manager Thursday a lot of good that's going to do me now. I ask her for a corporate number she gives me one that doesn't work. All because a product was in the wrong spot and they wouldn't honor the price. read more

Setting aside the question of whether someone should base their shopping choices on their view of a company's `morality', Walmart, at least in Washington/Oregon, seems to be a great place to do your daily shopping/grocery shopping. I split between Walmart and Winco, whereas in California I'd normally hit Safeway, as prices were roughly equivalent but Safeway had more selection. In Washington/Oregon, seems like Walmart/Winco have much better prices. This particular Walmart location is convenient, right next to a movie theater, down the road from Winco, has a Carl's Jr nearby - good choice for days when you want to make an `event' of everything, even mundane shopping. Relative to the other Walmarts in Vancouver this location is the smallest, but tends to be less busy/lines are shorter. read more

I had purchased a red hooded coat/raincoat this winter. At the time I noticed one of the same coats I tried had a broken zipper . The zipper is the type that comes apart at the bottom and on that coat it was jammed. I really liked the coat,so I purchased the unjammed one, of course, but after wearing it 2 or 3 times the zipper jammed at the bottom just like the one we saw in the store and would not zip and would not come/apart at the bottom. I could no longer wear the coat. One day I was with my husband we noticed the same coat in another Wal-mart with the same broken zipper. Obviously a flaw in the coat itself. I took my coat back to Wal-mart from where it was purchased it and was told by the clerk this has been clearanced for $5.00 that is all I can give you. I told here I like the coat but they were obviously flawed from the beginning and I want my money back or have it fixed. She called the ZMS (manager) I was told by the "ZMS", whatever that means, Marlene Price that the coats are out there on clearance for $5.00, so I will give you $5.00. My husband said show us those coats and we will take a comparable one. Then she said " there aren't any." Then she said with a smile "they actually sold for $2.00, so I'll give you $2.00". Then I said "Now you are only going to give me $2.00?. The sales person had told us they clearanced for $5.00.and so did you and now you are saying $2.00? Realizing the ridiculousness of her $2.00 offer... "Well", said Marlene the ZMS I will give you $5.00 as an" accommodation for the inconvenience". I said ,I paid $30.00 for a coat I was only able to wear 2 or 3 times that obviously had a manufacturers flaw,and $5.00 doesn't buy me another coat. but I do liike the coat, I would be happy if you just have the zipper fixed. 'No, we don't do that'. It's amazing how much turning down an unhappy/frustrated customer somehow was making Marlenethe ZMS and the other return clerk, whose eyes were bugging with excitement as she "tuned in".,. day. Her ears were tightly tuned into the whole conversation. I asked then, Marlenethe ZMS, for the District Managers number. I guess I will just have to take a vow not to go to Wal-mart for a year. I can easily do that, because once I stop going, it will be become such a part of my habit I doubt I will ever go again. District Manager, watch the tape on this one. Do you care that your employees treat YOUR customers (well not anymore)with such disdain and loathing?A friendly caring attitude alone, would have made a world of difference, and also Wal-mart standing behind their product made for 75cents in some foreign sweatshop! read more

This is one of the worst Wal-Marts I have ever been too. The store is too small and badly organized. I can never find anything I am looking for and the store just feels dirty and grimy. I always have to wait in line because there are not enough cashiers and there are no self-check outs available. This is the first Wal-Mart that I have visited where I could not find an item. Have had the worst experience here with the lady who runs the counter at the returns at night . ( heavyset older lady ) She is rude and I have no clue how she has a job. I asked to speak with the manager and told her how rude she was to all the people in line . I spoke with assistant manager and should have called the GM the next day. This lady should not be working in a customer service roll. She needs to be stocking in the back and not dealing with customers . If I could give negative stars I would . My husband and I received a gift from Walmart and we took it back to this Walmart. At the customer desk we were helped by a lady who was using a nasty old Kleenex then continued to blow her running noise while helping us and touching everything without sanitizing. First of all, I waited about 15 minutes at the jewelry counter for a cashier to come open up a cabinet and then I went to the front of the store to get some hard alcohol from the spirits section and wasn't able to purchase any because my friends didn't have their ID's with them and they weren't even going to drink any of it. The reason why I am so bitter is because of the way @Georgiana was talking to us. She was extremely rude and wouldn't even let a random stranger who just happened to talk to us in the liquor section buy alcohol. That will teach you to not have casual conversation with strangers. This is definitely the worst experience I have ever had at Walmart. read more

The Hazel Dell management and staff are Awesome! the best customer service of any Walmart anywhere. And definitely better than the Portland stores that are strict and stuffy and the management needs to lighten up or eat a cookie they wouldn't even let me exchange a bottle of ranch dressing with out a receipt! because I bought light by mistake how bogus I got the most fantastic service by employees that are committed and there to help the customers great service! read more

*Should be 0 stars if possible. WORST service ever had with any oil change. Took about 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us waiting and to ask what we needed. The attendant said about 20 minutes for my car and they'd call over the speaker when it's done. 45 minutes later, we go to check on it, hood is still up no one around, another car is behind mine with them working on that one. We continue to wait, an HOUR has passed, we question an attendant. They say "oh yah we couldn't get your filter off so we can't do your oil change." Are you kidding me? an entire HOUR has gone by, when we were quoted 20 MINUTES. In those first 20 minutes you should have called us over the intercom and INFORMED US that you could not do the job or at least informed us of what you knew. We have wasted an entire hour for absolutely NO SERVICE. You had already worked on the car BEHIND mine and could not have bothered to just call us to say something was wrong. Staff did not apologize, did not seem like they had done anything wrong and said that it's not their fault. Will never be returning, and do NOT recommend anyone to come here for ANY services because they will most likely not even do a thing! Negative 5 stars if possible read more

Have a high performance Jaguar XJR which like to fly. The balance on the wheels is critical and easy to get slightly off with the typical one minute spin up and slap lead on it. That's exactly what happened the first go around at this store. I am picky about my car so I brought the wheels back in one at a time with my alternate vehicle. Took a couple of trips but the car went from below average to the best ride I have ever had. I have to look at the speedometer as 50 or 80 and above all feels the same now. So i purchased new tires at their tire center. The tires were a great value but the service was shawdy. I went to replace my brakes about a month later and my lug nuts were over torqued. Used a craftsman torque wrench and was reading over 120 foot pounds. Called them and they broke them loose and re torqued them to factory spec for me. Now about a month after that i was driving and one of my studs snapped from being over stressed, called walmart they said take it to Les Schwab to replace the stud and they would foot the bill. I went to tighten up the loose lug nuts another one snapped off on the same tire and the truck is unsafe to drive and they won't pay for a tow bill. They are trying to tell me that if i have it towed it will have to go to claims, i'll still have to pay it out of pocket and they MIGHT reimburse me, if they do it will take a long time... Plus i don't know if the rim is ruined yet. VERY FREAKING DISPLEASED! Save yourself the hassle and buy tires elsewhere. read more

Exceedingly good customer service from the manager of the Optical Department, Cindy L. This manager has been super helpful, patient, and kind, in helping me with my not-so-good vision insurance plan. She was on the phone with my insurance for over half an hour. I gave her some wrong information about my plan, which made her life hard. However, she never showed any impatience with me (which I deserved). I am very impressed, and grateful, for such outstanding customer service. You would think I am shopping at Nordstrom or Tiffany's. read more

A copper drain oil gasket is to be replaced every other oil change according to the standards. But these guys here didn't replace the gasket (to save 30 cents), instead kept putting more torque on the bolt (plug) to stop the oil leak, it resulted damaging the oil pan drain hole threads. Now replacing the oil pan costs around $400 plus towing fee. In addition they left black dirty oil on the floor mat as well as the side of the door! read more

This is the worst WalMart. I have spent a lot of money at this store, but after tonight I won't be going back. This store has the worst customer service I have ever seen. I usually always go to selfcheckout so I don't have to wait while Doni tries to get a date with a customer while the line of people are standing there waiting for her to stop talking. Amber will get angry if she starts ringing items and you tell her it's Oregon even though you were standing there with the ID for last ten minutes while she was spending more time talking with the customers than working. Amber is not able to talk and scan, so she would stop scanning every time she talked to the customer. Doni comes over to "help" Amber while we are in line and walks up and starts whispering to her. Rude. She also did not scan the large items in our cart and had a fit that she had to walk a few steps to scan the items. It took two of them 5 minutes to figure out how to scan a sewing machine. As soon as I started walking away my daughters and I could hear them talking crap about us. The supposed manager was standing right next to us when Amber very rudely told me she had to void the transaction, which consisted of two waters because of the Oregon tax exempt, and that she had to wait for a manager. The manager just ignored her and never came over until we were leaving and started talking crap about people. I have heard her standing at the front of the store talking crap about people on several occasions. This store must have a very rude manager to have employees who act the way they do. The lady in tech dept was most helpful and friendly but the guy that checked me out yanked the item out of my hand and placed it on the left side of the register. Most likely because I was going to place it on the right side. He didn't thank me or utter a word after ringing me up. If it weren't so early I would have gone to management and complained.
