They do skin care services, which I was a little shocked by when I first heard of it, but I was pretty impressed with their procedures. (Late Friday afternoon.) He took a thorough look and said the abrasion on my eye would eventually heal, but prescribed an ointment. Now it's the next day and I feel 100% better. I did not know that as a person with severe nearsightedness that I would be at a much higher risk of retinal detachment, and that I needed to keep a very close eye on my eye health, as no doctor has ever told me before. I go in regularly because my vision keeps getting worse over the years so I have just gone in to update my glasses prescription over the years to different places, even one just this past year, but had not been offered or urged to get retinal imaging even though I have severe nearsightedness. THANK GOD Dr. Bauer's office requires retinal imaging at a common eye prescription appointment because I may not have known I needed it, since my vision has been normal besides needing an updated glasses prescription. He looked at my retinal images and immediately noticed that something was very wrong and helped make me an appointment with a retinal specialist right away, he literally texted the retina specialist my imaging when I was there in the chair. I don't have a very good prospect for my eye, and will likely require complex surgery, because I had never been told that I needed to have retinal imaging every year. I wish I had seen Dr. Bauer much earlier, as he would have caught my retinal detachment much sooner and my surgery outcome would be much better. But I am thankful he found it now. Overall I am so grateful for Dr. Bauer, he may have saved me from going blind. He was very smart and knowledgeable, kind, and even funny! He has a great bedside manner, which matters a lot to me since I have significant anxiety, especially around medical issues.
