A big thank you to Sarah R for helping me shop for my new, very cool, Artsy everyday glasses with progressive lenses & dark transition in the sun. Also, I love m new Sunglasses/Safety glasses. They get will have transition and polarization to protect my eyes from the sun...as well as, real official stamped safety glasses. My appointment is next week. I came in early to choose my new glasses for my upcoming years exam & glasses prescription. Everyone should come in early to shop for their new glasses. It makes you feel so confident because you know you chose special glasses you will love & be proud of, for the next year, or more, of your life. Choosing glasses is a personal shopping experience and I loved my experience today with Sarah. Thanks again Reno Family Eyecare, see you next week. A very proud Eyecare & glasses customer. Julie A

They explain everything and are super patient with your questions. The staff is super kind and I love that they do a breakdown of exactly what your insurance covers and what everything will cost WITHOUT pressure to buy. It took a week for my glasses to be completed. I was in and out to pick them up within ten minutes. They got me right in and adjusted the frames and I was on my way! I'll continue to go here, even though they are located on a completely different side of town.

After visiting, I can clearly see (ha ha) why! The location is beautiful inside (so uplifting and spacious) and out (next to Betsy Caughlin Donnelly Park). The staff is friendly and highly professional. And Grace and Dr. Belaustegui did an amazing job with my screenings and exam. Everything was thorough and informative, from discussing my eye drops and ongoing eye care (wear your sunglasses and take long blinks!), to a whole eye scan that showed exactly what was going on in my eyes without needing a tedious and inconvenient eye dilation. Although I only needed a slight adjustment to my prescription, my new glasses are perfectly configured for computer use, which has already resulted in noticeably less eye strain! Meagan was also very helpful (and patient) with finding the new frames and walking through costs. Highly recommend! TIP: Plenty of onsite parking; take a little extra time and walk through the park while you're there.

I did my vision check with Grace followed by an in-depth analysis and discussion with Dr. Belaustegui, and I really appreciated the thoroughness of the whole process. In addition to the exam, they got into the science of eye care and provided detailed information about my particular needs. Afterward, Meagan was very patient and friendly in helping me find just the right set of frames (of the 300 or so options they seem to have--all really nice and hard to choose from). We had a really great experience at our previous eye doctor in CA and were worried about finding a comparable place here in Reno, but Mayberry Vision allayed those worries and has proved to be a top-notch option.

Also, this is a great little store for kids with a beautiful rainbow room and lots of books to choose from. I love the sticker rack and all of the local Artists who have their art, jewelry, bookmarks and other cool wares available to purchase. I thought their pricing was very fair and I will be back again. Wanted to give a shout out to the Costco Optical Dept in Reno. My husband and I had gone thru…read morecheckout during executive hour last Friday. We were passing the optical dept and I mentioned to him I someday will check out the Optometry office for an eye check and he said just go and talk to them and make an appt. I walked in and they said how about right now? WTH? So I did. A little paper work and like 2 min and I was in Dr Winkelmans chair. He is an independent practice housed in this Costco. I see a retina specialist for a condition I have so my exam with him was not super comprehensive as I had just seen my retina doctor. I just needed a new prescription just for reading. The downside is he does not accept medicare or prominence..the pro side is the exam was only $119, and took right around 30 minute to complete. Today I was back in Costco to fill the prescription for glasses. There was no one else there, so I got helped right away by Jesse. He helped me with frames that looked good on me. I am a picky gal that likes designer stuff and I immediately gravitated to Cartier. Yep..they were $399! But..I had a rewards certificate from my costco card that covered almost all the cost. I purchased a couple more frames at less$$ and each one after the first got $ 50 off. Plus, prominence paid $200 towards the whole purchase! I am so happy with this dept!!! Customer service is beyond spectacular(thank you Jesse) and the prices are fantastic. Let me talk just a little more about the spendy Cartier frames. I went online OMG..the model # of the ones I purchased is CT03730 burgundy. In looking online..the same frames elsewhere are $895, $704,$981 etc..Damn I have some expensive taste! Not sure how costco can buy and resell these frames for half or more then online companies! I highly recommend this whole optical dept. You do not need a Costco membership to see the doctor but do to purchase frames and glasses. The savings just paid for the cost of membership plus!!! 1
