I liked the way sbe cared for my one golden eye suggesting precaution in case my eye glass shatter. I took my dad in for his scheduled appointment on the Friday before the Fourth of July weekend. I made sure to be on time. When I got to the desk to check in they did not have my appointment booked. They suggested I come back tomorrow. Hey Walmart are you kidding?? I'm taking an elderly person with several health issues in for his appointment. He is a repeat customer to both the optometrist exam and glasses department. It's a lot of effort to get off work and make sure he is all set for the appointment. Gas, time, and energy are important to your customers!! It's so not okay to just have to redo all of this again. I will never come back here again. There are many optometrists and optical departments in this county and it is clear Walmart does not care enough to take care of there patients. I was taking him here because he was a repeat patient and he had a $20 coupon towards his purchase of new glasses. I will pay the extra $20 to take him somewhere else. Went in for contacts. The first lady that was working there was sure a prune, her attitude was very confrontational... She was very hostile somehow... The second lady working there seemed to be a very nice person. At least i did not have to deal with the prune anymore... Her hostility was well over the top. The second lady took her time and ordered me my contacts. If it was not for her I would have went somewhere else. The price for the contacts was a bit higher than other places I use but I was here and needed more contacts. Wal-Mart needs to get rid of Prunes like the one working here, here disrespect and hostility needs to go. Customers that visit here do not need her rudeness. I did not get an eye exam or product from this business, however I want to add a review because how helpful Shanina at the front desk was. I was traveling from out of town and forgot my contact lenses. Since I am already a Walmart Vision customer back home, I visited this Walmart Vision in Brea, hoping to pick up some Acuvue Oasis MAX 1 day lenses of fairly high prescription. Unfortunately the store does not have any on hand. Shanina called all the Walmart Vision stores in Orange County on my behalf to ask if those stores carried the particular type and power of contact lenses. Unfortunately they did not. Shanina then gave me a list of multiple stores in the area that may carry contact lenses in the store - One of which did carry the contact lenses I needed. She was super helpful and so friendly, going above and beyond what was required for the job. This is top notch customer service. This 5 star review is overdue. I went to the Vision Center inside Walmart, Brea in April, 2022 to get new glasses and prescription. Chelsea was the Technician that helped me achieve that. Chelsea was friendly, helpful, personable and extremely professional and knowledgeable. She is subperb! Received my new glasses back in less than the 2 weeks and they are perfect. I recommend Vision Center Walmart, Brea to anyone needing glasses and eye care. I have used Vision Centers inside Walmart Stores three (3) other times and have had excellent results and reasonable prices and will use them again. read more

Needed an eye exam for prescription glasses & contact lens. Decided to try this Walmart Vision Center in Brea since they had the earliest appointment available in the area during this Covid19 pandemic. I normally don't write reviews but my experience at this location made me want to make the public aware what kind of service was provided by the optometrist at this location. First I would like to say when i arrived at the location Lisa (associate @ vision center) was very friendly & welcoming. She had me fill some paperwork and explained to me a technician will take me back to perform a pretest before I actually see the Optometrist. Didn't get her name but she too was friendly & provided service with a smile. This is the part where things need to be addressed. I was called in by the Optometrist Vicki Vu & just within being called into the exam room her tone of voice & demeanor was not friendly nor pleasant. The minute I got in that exam room everything was rushed. Not only was the exam rushed but just the tone of voice from Vicki wasn't pleasant. Your probably asking what I mean by that.. It would be nice when you call the patient in the exam room to say your name & say it with a smile. When the exam is over it would be nice to say something like...it was a pleasure and before you leave do you have any questions for me. Not once while I was in that exam room did Vicki smile. I wasn't in that exam room for more than 10-15 mtes, made me feel like they just wanted my money. Just like to say the associates that helped me were friendly & provided great service. And to Vicki if you want to have referrals and good reviews, you need to provide good customer service with a smile from beginning to end. read more

He very patiently answered every question I had and even ones I didn't, being completely honest about what I should expect in the next few years as my vision continues to decline with age. His examination was very thorough and unrushed, with explanations every step of the way. The staff was excellent, also, as some people have already mentioned. FINALLY I CAN SEE! Thank you Dr. Le for taking the time and really caring about me as a person. It has been over three years and I have not been able to see clearly, plus I have been seeing double vision. Driving at night was horrible because the lights were so blurred as well as the street signs. It was hard walking in grocery stores because it was hard to look ahead because of how hard my eyes were working to focus. I went to two other highly recommended eye doctors who tried their best but couldn't get my sight where it needed to be. The last Dr. I went to see in Yorba Linda at first told me he could help me and he had all the fancy machines. After changing my glasses two times, when I came back and said it is still not clear, he told me that he couldn't help me see any better and that surgery would be the only thing that could help me. I left in tears and hundreds of dollars in the hole. I went to Dr. Le and it was the best decision ever. I have hard eyes to work with. One eye sees better and the other has a stronger muscle. My eyes were not working well together. Plus I have other eye issues. Dr. Le took so much time with me and decided I needed to have prisms in my glasses. He ordered them and said it is hard to put prisms in progressive lenses and might have to tweak them when we get them back. WOW, I put them on and it was strange at first but for the first time in over 3 years, I could see distance crisp and clearer than I can ever remember. The reading was harder as he thought it would be and he did some more adjusting and sent my lenses out again. When they came back, it was amazing. I have had them now for almost a week and feel like a child with a new world in front of me. I am so grateful to Dr. Le. I have been getting my glasses at Walmart for a long time and love the service and all who work there. Unbelievable that they are actually optometrists. The dark haired 60 something lady was hostile, not easy to even ask a question about prices and comfort of some contact lenses they may carry. Rude does not even define how she spoke to me. So uncomfortable to even get any questions answered I walked right out of there. I guess they just rent a space at Walmart here in Brea and that explains alot but I have been to many vision centers at walmart in different states and Never experienced this madness. It is sad that at this age, this human was not taught or trained to be kind. These kind of people should not be in the business of health care. Background: It has been almost 2 years since I got my last eye exam. Considering the fact that my vision has become so blurry to the point where it was hard for me to drive at night, I figured it was time to get a checkup. I usually see the same optometrist I have since I was in middle school, however due to my parent's lack of insurance, I was not able to revisit the same optometrist. At my old optometrist, I was paying almost $200 for just my contacts check up and contacts. Not including my glasses prescription. Price: After a little bit of research on other vision centers, I found that Walmart's vision center best fit my budget as a college student. For both a contacts/regular prescription glasses check up, was roughly around $90! For a box of contacts (roughly half a year's supply) and new glasses frames, including the price of just the check up, was about $230! I could not believe I had been paying so much at a private optometrist compared to Walmart! Experience: The layout of the vision center is kind of odd. The front is solely for looking at frames. In order to get your check up, you have to walk to the far back corner. There are no signs explaining this, and as it was my first time here, I was very confused. However the staff had noticed I was lost and were very helpful in pointing me in the right direction. The front desk lady did my pre-exams and she was very nice and welcoming. Then the doctor saw me right away. He was also very friendly and after explaining how my vision was blurry with my current prescriptions and describing my day to day vision activities, he gave me very helpful advice and information to keep my vision the best it could possibly be. He was caring and funny, and made the experience a little less nerve-wracking for someone who hates going to any sort of doctor in general. Aftermath: I had received a paper right after with both prescriptions on it. I then purchased my contacts that they had on hand, so I didn't have to wait for a shipment. Then I continued to look for frames to wear for my glasses. I have always hated picking glasses because I never seem to like a pair enough to wear for half a year. I have worn glasses since I was in elementary and have yet to find a glasses frame I am happy with. The staff however assisted me multiple times by asking what it was I was looking for or what kind of preference I had. They had multiple options and were all roughly under $100 for frames. If you want boujee ones, they carry a few selection of Ray Bans and Coach glasses as well. I however, stuck to my $80 frames. I'm not sure if it was just a one time promotion or not, but after I purchased both my glasses and contacts, they gave me 50% off my frames purchase. Which was very helpful. Overall: Overall it was a great experience here. Everyone was very kind and helpful and I did what I came to do in under an hour. It was fast, efficient, and easy. I am very happy with the service I received and will come back here in the future. My contacts have been very nice since I got them, and they're the correct prescription. I have yet to receive my frames, but when I do, I will add to my review based on the outcome. read more

I would give this ZERO stars if I had the option. The customer service at this "clinic" is effing WACK! What a shame, since the quality of the lenses are actually pretty good and comfortable. I've always gone to private eye doctors. But I'd moved away from my previous eye doc and just wanted some dang contacts when my current supply ran out, and this place was a quick, convenient location that had them to hold me over for a few months. Since I am currently wearing my last pair of contact lenses of that supply and am in desperate need of a refill, I've called this place SIX TIMES TOTAL over the past MONTH to simply ATTEMPT to refill my contact lens prescription over the phone. Every single time I call, the workers here are always too busy, too cool, too WHATEVER IT IS THEY ARE to help me! I simply, politely ask for them to look up my prescription and order me some new boxes, and I am usually either put on hold or they take down my number and say they'll call me right back. Number of times I've actually been called back? ZILCH. What is it WITH YOU GUYS? Freakin' get it together! Once I FINALLY receive my refill of contacts from you lazy mofos, I'm peace-ing out and going back to a real doctor. That's what I get for trying to entrust my vision care with a McDonalds-esque optometry place like Wal-Mart. I will never come back here again. read more

I purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses last July at this location. Shortly after I purchased them there was a problem with the lamination on the sunglasses and they had to be sent back. I got them back about a month later. A few weeks ago I noticed the lamination was again bubbling and separating from the glasses. I brought them back to the Vision center and was told that the year warranty starts at the time of purchase and not when you take possession of the glasses, nor would they take into consideration I was out a month without them due to the same issue. The two woman working there were useless and would not even offer another solution, like maybe just charging me for the lenses since I already paid for the frames. The quality of the glasses suck! And I will never buy another pair of glasses from them again. read more

It's my first time at Walmart Optical and I usually go to Costco or Target. However both places don't open til 10 and Walmart Optical opens at 9. That's why I give 1 star and 1 star for the prices. But I agree with the other reviewers that the workers here are freakin hostile! Not only did the lady did not offer me any type of help, at 9:40 am on 05/21/2018, the African American lady that worked on this day kept rolling her eyes at my toddler.. She even asked me to ask her to sit down even though she was inside the cart and I was watching her... Then, again, the eye roll! She only talked to me that one time but not while I was trying on frames and needing assistance. I received my glasses at the Bismarck South Walmart. I have gotten glasses there before & have been satisfied with them & wore them for a long time. I recently got glasses there & have been very unhappy with them. After 2 weeks of trying to get used to them, I just couldn't wear them. When I went back to the store, the person in charge gave me such a bad time, I put the glasses in the case, & left with tears of frustration. I am on Social Security & can't afford to pay over $400. for glasses that I can't wear. My information tells me that I can return them within 60 days, and she obviously won't let me. read more

Ok, I have a new found love for Wal Mart. This is hard for me to admit as I've been such a fan of Target. But Wal Mart having a lot more options for cash strapped folk like myself, I drank the Kool Aid. I needed to get my eyes checked out and gave the Vision Center a shot. Got in, checked in and got to the exam room with no problems. However, my optmetrist ...I forget her name but it was some asian lady was a total biiiiiaaaatcch. I must say that I inherited the shittiest eyes ever and my vision is slow deteriorating year over year- as I have astigmatism. First off, she was not very hospitable. Try to small chat her up and she totally shot me down....ok...whatever. Then I tried asking her about my vision and what was wrong with my eyes as they are dry. The wet towel was very short and made me feel like I was burdening her. IMHO, if you hate your job that much, you should just look for work else where. I could not believe the attitude I got from her.... *sigh.. Like Snoop says....if the bitch give you attitude, drop it like its hot. Will look for exams else where. read more

This is a review for the Vision Center that sells the lenses and frames, NOT for the optometrist office in back (they r independently operated). The optometrist office is great. I got a same day appt and had no problems at all. The Vision Center up front.......not so much. My initial visit with them was fine. I picked the frames and decided to pay for the extra warranty for the glasses, which I was given a brochure about, and was told that the warranty covered everything except for loss or theft. Cool. 2 months later, one of the nose pieces has fallen off somewhere. No biggie, not even a major repair or problem. I decide to take the glasses in the next time I decide to shop there, which just so happens to be today. Besides, I have the extra warranty that I paid extra for. I walk in, explain my problem, and am told that the cost is $3.25 and it is NOT COVERED by the warranty since the nose pieces are NOT PART of the frame. What? How are the nose pieces not a part of the frame. 2 nose pieces came with the glasses. I didn't have to purchase the nose pieces when I bought the glasses. I try to explain all of this to the associate and her manager, and they decide to "just this once, do it for free". WOW! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Like I should bend over and kiss their a$$e$ because they're saving me $3.25. Leave the place, go home, and call the customer service line of the extended warranty and tell them what happened. They said "NOSE PIECES ARE COVERED". They were also a little upset that wrong information was being told to customers and said they would take care of this locations wrong information givers. I couldn't leave it alone though, so I had to call the store back, and let them know they were ill informed and needed to further their knowledge on their products if they were going to be selling them. read more

In short, great service! I had come to Walmart for basic shopping when I decided that, for the first time in 20 years, it was time to use my insurance and get an eye exam. I hadn't needed glasses to this point. Vidal assisted me with making an appointment for the following day to see Dr. Giap Le. Vidal was very accommodating and friendly. He even remembered me on later visits and treated me as if I were customer #1. Dr. Le was warm, receptive, and knowledgeable. It turned out I needed glasses, so I went back upfront to seek assistance. I was assisted further by Lisa and Chelsea. Both were friendly and educated me on the options I had, and there were many! I didn't know a thing about prescription glasses or the various lens options. I ended up ordering a pair of frames with clear lenses and Transitions Xtractives for both of my sunglasses. Unfortunately, the Xtractives were not dark enough for use when driving, as I learned following the pick-up of my glasses. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to exchange, but that concern was quickly abandoned when Chelsea was happy to exchange one of the lenses for prescription sunglass lenses. I have made several visits to the vision center since my initial visit in late September and my experience has been nothing short of fantastic every time with each staff member I've encountered. Given my experience, it saddens me that there are some not-so-nice reviews online. I suppose you can't please everyone despite the effort, and this staff certainly aims to please. I will certainly be a customer for life and recommend the eye center to anyone seeking an optometrist or for prescription glasses. Kudos to all on staff. I had been going to the Brea Walmart's Vision Center for years for my annual contacts renewal exam. Dr. Phan was THE BEST. I just went to Dr. Le for the first time and I will NEVER GO BACK. Dr. Le was nice enough, but he asked me a lot of personal questions that I was not comfortable with, specifically about some medical history that had nothing to do with optometry whatsoever. It was the most unprofessional experience I have had in a doctor's office. The worse part was he also commented on some physical imperfections I have (on my face) and that was not only completely inappropriate, but extremely rude. Also, the receptionist is friendly, but not sincere at all; kind of like autopilot. And the guy at the front seemed to hate his job. read more

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE! Paid for an eye exam. They forgot to give me a copy of my prescription, I called back and was on hold for 30 minutes. I got in the car and drove back to the store. Still on hold I walked in and saw the receptionist HANNA doing nothing. She told me I couldn't buy contacts for 2 days until the doctor returned. I asked for a trial pair and was told that in my case an exception could not be made and I would have to be without vision for 2 days. Your just another number here, go elsewhere. I was able to get an appointment quickly. The eye doctor was personable. The new lenses I received are horrible. Putting them on makes my eyes cross. We love Dr. Le, my 13 year old son and I actually enjoyed our eye exams. Dr. Le is wonderful, he's friendly, very knowledgeable and informative. Many doctors just run you through a mill and don't even acknowledge you as a person. Best eye doctor I've seen yet. He shared some important eye health facts with me affected by other medical conditions I have and how I can better care for my eyesight. We will keep coming to see Dr. Le. We had an appt set for 4pm. Arrived a few minutes early to check in. Soon after, they did the basics of looking in his eyes and the air puff, we sat and waited for another 30 min or so. The patient before was late and there was nothing we could do. When it was our turn, the doctor was very thorough on his exams gor my son and inormed me of things I hadn't heard from his previous doctor. Then picking out glasses and payment was fast. Staff members were very friendly ans courteous. So although the wait was long, it overall benefited us in the long run. read more
