If I could 0 stars I would. Second pair of glasses ruined within 5 months due to intense scratching on the lenses. I thought it was how I was cleaning them so I specifically got the cleaners. Nope. Scratched to the point I can't see out of them within 4 months. Best part is when I went in apparently even though specially asking for warranty since what happened to my last pair, NO WARRANTY. Funny how they can upsell everything on the glasses yet somehow not the $25 warranty that would actually help the customer. 10/10 go to a real optometrist office and you will save yourself money in the long run. read more

I normally don't write reviews much less negative but this one is well-deserved. I originally bought my frames at this location so didn't think twice when I had to get new lenses. Nikki, the Store Manager, assisted me and new lenses were sent for but the lab botched the order by cutting them improperly with too much distortion. Nikki offered to have the lab redo the lenses at no additional charge but if the lab botched it again I would be out $169 so I requested a full refund which Nikki agreed to however, before doing so, she popped out the lenses and threw them away knowing the frames were discontinued and that it would be very difficult if not impossible to fill them elsewhere and failed to inform me of such which seemed particularly malicious to me. I contacted Rob, the District Manager, who informed me that although what Nikki did essentially made my frames worthless, he was not willing to authorize a refund on my frames but allowed me to go back to the store and pick whatever frames I wanted but could find none that were suitable. I called Corporate, speaking with Ashley, but she said policy prevented her from contacting the lab for the dimensions nor would she do more to assist me. All my pleas seemed to fall on deaf ears. Neither Rob nor Ashley would openly condemn what Nikki had done even though it was unethical due to the fact that Nikki knew the frames were discontinued and that tossing the lenses would make the frames worthless. In almost every interaction she was passive-aggressive, flippant, disrespectful and generally gave off bad vibes. She is not only a liability to the store but the company itself seems to validate this kind of behavior by refusing to address it. One more thing to report is that the Walmart Vision Centers at Pleasant Grove and Truxel are NOT supported by Walmart by rather by National Vision, the parent company. Do not do business with them. Please don't waste your time here I have had some issues with some glasses and I had asked them about fixing them and the manager told me you are exchanging them? I said yes I had a very hard time adjusting to bifocals since I have never used them ever i explained to the lady they made me do dizzy at work my mom Had to bring me my old glasses and she made it sound like she was doing me a favor i have used this vision center before and never had issues and it just made me very uncomfortable how she made it sound like the glasses the Cost of returning them which she made sure to point out to me which made me feel extremely uncomfortable there job should be to make sure you will be happy with the glasses you are purchasing not make you feel bad for the glasses and I did pay for both glasses it was never free i knew I had to pay please take it from me this place is awful they don't want to accommodate you and if they do they make it extremely difficult and uncomfortable for you I will never come back to this location given how the manager runs this location she needs to be retrained on her job and customer service skills because she definitely does not have them read more

Ok....This review was Overdue. I had a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious experience here at our local vision center. This is where my mom gets her vision care and I've taken her here for her appointments. Its close to home and therefore convenient. But what I didn't expect was the phenomenal service I received for myself when I decided to check this place out. I made an urgent call to the store to see about getting a replacement pair of lenses and a wonderful rep offered to assist. It was close to closing but she assured me she could get me taken care of if I swung by. I did. And she absolutely took care of my needs! However staff is not helpful at all. 1st counter staff: no greetings at all, no word for a few mins until we asked if we need to sign in. 2nd staff took over: she got on her phone, can hear tapping sound-looking down and hands under the desk. No help on our questions. Told that they don't accept my insurance which is same as my husband (dual coverage) I said I used it 2 years ago at this place and no changes since. I found the Dr to be very professional and friendly. The staff was more than accommodating and stopped at nothing to figure out my health coverage benefits ect. I was unhappy with my choice in contacts, and they were more than happy to return and exchange them! They even called me and saved me a 65 mile trip there and had them sent to my doorstep! Very expensive and unwelcoming!! Dr. CHING that works on Fridays is rude and seems unhappy with her job. Didn't want to answer my questions and was in a hurry! Kept throwing her pens on a table!? Exam is $89, but I would not purchase any lenses or glasses though as they are very pricy! Costco has a way better deals! I'm a younger woman who wanted contacts. After a couple of training periods the female optometrist told me to give up and stop trying. She was rude and condescending. She said to come back a year from now and maybe we could try again. She also refused me a prescription. I've never experienced something like it before. I went to another optician the same day and they gave me all the information I needed and taught me how to successfully put my contacts in. I was really disappointed in my experience with Walmart. When we went back to ask questions again, the optometrist was rude and defensive. I wish I would have gone to the other optometry office from the start. read more

The eye doctor who works on Friday is particularly good (Dr Chin). The service is fine but they don't go out of their way to be your friend. The service is professional enough and the glasses quality seems fine. I got my glasses in about 10 days. They will try to up-sell you with anti-glare and the protection plan. I don't have any problems having my glasses done here, as long as I can find a pair of frames I like. On my recent visit there was only 1 pair of frames that I found I liked, but then again I am kind of picky. read more

I had been trying to get new glasses for months so when my husband offered to go to Sams Club i jumped at it. Found out the exam is next door at WalMart and you get the contact lenses at Sams. i was hesitate but since i was there i decided to give it a try. I have to admit I about blew an inner gasket when the bill for my new glasses was over $700. They come with Transitions which is nice since sunglasses don't really work over glasses. They also come with Progressive which allows me not to have that ugly bifocal line. And they are scratch proof. I also got over $200. Off my glasses as a card carrying member of AARP. I am also getting contact lenses and the optometrist has been bending over backwards trying to find the right ones for me. Everyone is pleasant, well informed, professional and helpful. Basic glasses can be gotten for far less than I paid & I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Overall not a bad place for a routine eye exam -- the doctor is pretty thorough -- and they also accept walk ins. The only downside is that even though they have your information on file, they still want you to fill out the entire health history/insurance information form regardless of whether or not there are any changes. I have also been getting my contact lenses here, but have never bought glasses because they don't carry the brands I like. Placing the order for lenses is usually quick and they get them within a week or so. I usually order very early, so I sometimes pick them up several weeks after the order. They do offer free shipping to your home as well. The phone number for this location is actually 916-784-7813. For whatever reason, Yelp's moderators refuse to update it for this listing. Always trying to up sell on contact prescriptions and in the two times I've been there which isn't many, but I believe warrants an idea of how it's ran. For being a WALMART vision center, you'd think they'd have a fair price just to update a contact prescription. Especially with the ridiculous law that contact prescriptions are only good for a year, but glasses are good for a year. Of course, there's a much less chance of someone needing replacement glasses versus having to order contacts consistently. But it is wall mart so what should I expect. read more

I was in town visiting last week and this location is less than 5 minutes from my sister's house. My first time ever getting an eye exam and based off my experience I will NEVER return to this location (as long as that dr is around). I am not happy with the services provided to me by the Doctor (Sodhi) at this location. She is rude and so condescending! Her attitude is beyond unacceptable! She spoke to me and other patients ahead of me along with the staff in the front as if we're all beneath her. Working so close with patients you would think she would keep her mask on at all times but felt is was necessary to take it off when she spoke to the staff. She should have kept it in and maybe we all wouldn't have seen the rude look on her face or clearly hear her tone. I can't believe someone like that is allowed to work in such a profession. Everyone else was so nice and greeted me and even thanked me when I left knowing I'm not purchasing anything from that store. If you can find a different place to get your prescription glasses, go there. I wish I had used Costco (which was actually less expensive), but opted to try Walmart instead. Big mistake. I ordered my glasses and by the time I got them, I had about 10 days to make sure they were ok before the return policy ran out (it's a 30-Day return policy, but that's from the time you ORDER the glasses, NOT from the time you receive them- don't be deceived). The person that is supposed to 'help' with choosing the appropriate frames was useless. The glasses I got never did fit right. Now it's a few months down the line and the glasses have stretched out to where I can't even wear them. My insurance monies were totally wasted here. To add insult to injury, when I called to ask if the 2-Yr Product Protection Plan would help with this- I got a very rude clerk named Nikki who talked over me and was very excited to let me know that my plan "doesn't cover this" then she proceeded to impart her vast knowledge on me by revealing; "well, if you wear them on your head, they will stretch".... almost like she enjoyed letting me know I'd been totally screwed. The one star is based solely off the ladies who work here. The doctor I usually see is always very polite and professional. However, the ladies that "work" there constantly have terrible attitudes and are less than useless. The one in the back who gets you signed in is especially rude. Came in today to get my contacts, asked if they could print me a copy of the prescription. Got nothing but attitude back from the woman that was working at the time. Then I'm told they can't mail or email it. I would need to come back on Monday to get it printed. Super convenient. I think this will be the last time I get my vision checked or prescription through the Walmart vision center. I love the doctor, but the women who work here need to be either retrained or fired and hire someone with some personality. read more

Bought glasses last year end of September without my ins. they were 488.00. I paid 368.00 with a full 1 year warranty.I found that in the 7 months I've had them it seems I cant keep them clean.Used their cleaner, wipes and cloths nothing seemed to work . Then, while cleaning glasses, the left lens fell out.I took the glasses in to the vision center. There was a poster on the wall advertising the warranty. The clerk gave every possible excuse from I wasn't wearing them right to my body chemistry not to honor the warranty. She replaced the screw with an off color one and was condescending. I was told there was nothing else that could be done. Don't buy the warranty! It is not what it seems! I don't recommend this place. I called to schedule an appointment for my daughter and specifically told them it was for colored contacts. We go in and after wasting an hour of my time was told by the lady optometrist that she was not going to write a prescription for my daughter. I would give them 0 stars if there was an option. Friday's Dr. Ching is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. I had my eye exam in November to get refills on contacts and to get glasses. Because I have had cataract surgery on my left eye and am near sighted on my right eye, she wanted to know what we going to do about my situation? Hello, my eye surgery was over 5 years ago, there is no current situation. So come to find out today when I try to get regular eye glasses, the idiot doctor didn't write a prescription for eye glasses. Great! Now back to Wal-mart I go, only to be told I have to wait for the doctor on duty to see if he can write a prescription for eye glasses. I am told I have to be there in the office in order for the doctor to write the prescription, don't need another eye exam, but just have to be there. After an hour waiting for a mistake they made, no resolution. I tell them I have been waiting an hour and they tell me that the doctor has patients he needs to see first and they will try to fit me in between appointments. I asked why did he call someone else in the room? "They have appointments". WOW, just wow, I am having to wait over an hour because they have appointments? What about "They didn't fill out the paperwork right and I have to come back to have it corrected?" I would not recommend them ever to anyone. Dr. McDonald is subpar. He gave me too wrong prescriptions because he felt like doing an experiment with my eyes. After headaches, wasted time and money-he never admitted his mistake. His receptionist is unfriendly and unhelpful. She's white and wears glasses, mimicked me when I was three feet away from her and claimed she was talking about another customer. Uh, that's still unprofessional!!!! I gave one of the girls (Indian) that worked in the vision center my package of unopened contact lenses and denied I had done this and questioned if I had ever even been there. The Asian lady 'manager' of this place didn't help either-I had been going to this Vision Center since 2001-and she questioned this! WHY WOULD I LIE about coming here for so damn long? I made this statement to prove that I have never had a problem with this place since I moved to Roseville. Ridiculous. $150 later, wasted time and I still don't have the right prescription.
