Good Pokémon jazwares figure selection IG: @ammysalamii
    Angela G.

Decided to drop by to check for Pokémon jazwares figures before our dinner at AYCE Gogi and surprisingly found a good selection! You don't come across any good ones out here and actually have to drive out to like Simi or Santa Clarita for stock. Parking lot is pretty big but crowded. Tight and small spaces and feels like it's always busy. We end up parking by Five Below and just walking over. The selection here is great for anything really. Pricing is always good but somehow they didn't have stock in mini cans of Squirt. Other than that, great with everything else! IG: @ammysalamii

The search for birthday wearables continues! I gotta say I liked the selection here better than the Party City next door. Let alone the prices! One of my favorite items are the glow sticks. They even have glow stick crowns! So fun. The most stressful part of any Walmart is checking out but thankfully on this trip the self checkout was open and there was no line. Win!

Luis the "manager" should be fired for this one, if the person above them care for the company they should get rich of that guys immediately. As you can see, store hours on Christmas show 6PM and at 5pM they closed the doors and he said it is what it is. Rude and terrible customer service! How can someone like that even work there?!? Crazy to me.

I was greeted by 2 employees. One by the name of Martha and the other one Ashley. Got there a little after 2:25pm. They both wanted to know how they could have helped me? I said I am just browsing for now, once I find out, I will let you know. They both smiled and walked away. Great asset to the company. As I was browsing, few things caught my eye and didn't need them, but liked and wanted them. Prices were very affordable and reasonable. Everything was well organized, and hanging on the racks. All items had their own prices. They also have a lot of designer items. Got myself nice white flat shoes, (small rhinestones all around), later as I was walking around, I noticed a cute, square, white color purse with lots of pockets inside and out, Liz Claiborne, with a nice long strap. It had a little wear and tear on the top & on the strap. The cashier gave me a 10% discount on it. I approached the accessories department, and saw this bulky, round color bracelet with small details on it. It was pretty dope and unique. A lady that was standing next to me said that's from India. I was like oh, ok. I also bought me 2 small perfumes, each for $25, and a lotion that was on sale for only $5.99. Saw this gorgeous black blouse that you can wear going out or just feeling groovy. Casual wear. As I was checking out, got thirsty, got me Sprite and water, also 2 M&Ms. Always have a sweet tooth. For a first time shopper, had a good experience. All that only cost me less than $150.00 including tax. Has a parking lot, not sure about restrooms. That's all I have to say until I return, when I am in the area. A lot of discounted items all around the store.. Thank you Ashley, Martha, management and of course Nordstrom Rack!!

This Target had just about everything we needed for this errand run and even some extra rare finds! Usually the Target by us never has any Pokémon figures that just released so we were very surprised to see some here. They also had Final Fantasy Magic the Gathering cards which is another rare find! Usually only Walmart up in Santa Clarita has them lol! They also had Kitsch hair perfume which maybe they sell at Target in general but they had all the scents I was looking for so I grabbed some. I was shopping for gifts for two of my favorite friends who happen to have their January birthdays one day apart. A group of us were meeting for a celebratory dinner, and I was on the hunt for a fun, unique gift for each of my pals. Though I gave the store a good walk-through, I didn't find anything that jumped out at me. I ended up settling for gift cards for each of them. One of the ladies Loves HG, so I knew she'd be happy to have a reason to go shopping. The other one doesn't need much in her home, but likes to have fun finds for their garden / patio, so that should work out well, too. Usually HG stores are very well merchandised and do displays that feature seasonal items, or different color schemes or themes. This location didn't have standout displays to catch my attention. It seemed a little unorganized. The line to check out was very long. Much longer than I'd have expected on a Tuesday afternoon. They could have used at least one or two more cashiers. Then the one younger woman who took care of me got confused on the gift cards and didn't know how much was on each one and had to get a supervisor. The amounts were different because I did have a smaller gift I'd ordered online for one of the friends. I didn't want to end up giving the wrong card to each birthday gal. It took even longer for her to find a supervisor who could help her. Overall, the visit didn't go very smoothly. I still love HomeGoods, just not this specific store based on the experience last week.

La La Land Cafe and the ice cream spot are our usual go-to places. Lately, the construction has taken away from the experience a bit, but I am hopeful that once it is finished, things will be even better. I just hope the updates are thoughtful and not simply focused on adding more retail, especially in place of something like the movie theater. It would be great to see additions that truly serve and reflect the community. For example, a fountain with a water show, similar to what you see at the Grove or Americana, would be a strong starting point. People and families already feel overwhelmed by the number of shops, and adding more does not necessarily improve the experience. Take Century City Mall as an example. After its remodel (many years ago) added many more stores, I personally stopped going. As someone who works in marketing, I know the first priority is getting people to visit. If visitors lose interest, as I did with Century City, then adding more shops defeats the purpose. I really hope they do not lose sight of what makes the place special. It would be a shame if short-term decisions ended up hurting the atmosphere that people enjoy.
