We used WC Landscaping last year for a redo of our front and backyard. The job was finished late last August. One of the reasons we liked the company is because when we met for the first time we were told that if anything went wrong , they would be back to help because they cared so much about the work. A year later, our watering system isn't working correctly, several plants are dying, and when Balbir begrudgingly returned to (what we thought was to help fix things), he allude that it was our fault the plants were dying, he refused to walk the front and back yards to make sure each plant was receiving water, when we asked why certain plants were dying, his response was something like, " I don't know. Sometimes we plant them and they do well and sometimes not" and he refused to replace any of the plants that died. He was angry and actually yelled at my husband. Now, after many thousands of dollars later, we have to pay to have someone evaluate and repair the watering system . And replace a number of dead plants. So incredibly disappointing. read more

Balbir redid our backyard, it was a very large project for us, roughly $75k. We thought he was honest a did his best. His crew was on time and clean. We love the new sod that was connected to our well water. Some of the elements was out of his comfort zone but we worked with him to get it to the point we like. Bob (Balbir) and his crew Nico and Jose finished our front yard a couple of weeks ago and we couldn't be more thrilled with the result! We are demanding customers (I am in the design trade and obsessed with details, I often feel bad for the contractors I work with as I notice EVERYTHING... ), and were pretty hands on with the project, checking in regularly and making sure our vision was translated accurately (remember you cannot assume others have the same visual as you when describing something, so photos and accurate drawings go a long way, along with being present at the project). They completely overhauled our front yard, removing the lawn, creating an Ipe wood pathway (very difficult to work with as it is very dense wood), a fire pit area, and a drought tolerant landscape with decomposed granite as the base. Bob was very hands on, he is really high energy and wanting everything to look perfect. Nico was very skilled at building our beautiful pathway. It was an overall pleasant experience to have them around, and we actually were sad to see them go when the project was complete! I notice that the one star reviews are from people who never got a chance to know Balbir because he was rude on the phone. I admit the first time he came over I was put off by his demeanor, and we hired him on my husband's insistence. His communication can be abrupt, to say the least, and the descriptions from these one star reviews sound accurate. I have heard him brush people off on the phone because he was focused on the task at hand (probably should let the calls go to voicemail). Bob and his team did a fantastic job redoing our front yard last year. They put in a new drip system and replaced all of the plants with ones more appropriate to our climate. They also created a nice stone patio for us to sit and relax on. This year we had them back to redo portions of our backyard. They put stairs up our hillside and set us up for installation of a new hot tub. That involved moving a fair amount of dirt, putting in a 4' retaining wall, creating a flat surface for the tub and trenching for the electrical work. We also had them replace the backyard lawn and its sprinkler system. Fantastic work and always easy to work with. His primary helper, Nico is great to work with. As a team they consulted us on our interests and transformed our yard into a colorful and practical space. read more

Bob made our vision a reality creating a beautiful environment. He was great to work with. It was a big job in a small yard. He did it all - tree removal, concrete replacement, rebuilt fences and gate, replaced and rerouted drainage, installed watering system, lights, and laid a slate slab and state tiles on gravel. Better I just list out what was asked to be done. 1. Two Retaining walls - These were great. No problems here! 2. Drip system: Apparently these were done incorrectly according to another landscaper who came in and willing to replace it all for free. 3. Stone Pavers in the back: The grout seams are all cracking or receding after less than 2 years. 4. Wood Pergola: It's still standing and seems sturdy. 5. Concrete side walkway and driveway expansion: Horrible!!! I have discoloration everywhere in all sections of the concrete!. Apparently his concrete work is not warrantied. 6. Compressed gravel walkway on other side: Sink holes have begun forming. 7. Gopher Barrier and new Sod. This is acceptable 8. Rear Irrigation: Horrible drainage in rear it just floods next to the retaining wall. read more

We had Walnut Creek Landscaping come out to take care of some problems with our irrigation system, which were the result of improper installation by the company that originally installed it. WC was great to work with, and resolved our issues and now everything works great. We were so happy that we had them come back to do some additional work (install fruit trees and apply sealer to our hardscaping). We love our yard, and already have plans to have them come back to help us with our next project. The owner Mr. Singh has been great to work with. They were timely and reasonably priced. Only if a no star review was available. This is by far the most unprofessional company I have ever had to deal with!! Overpriced is a complete overstatement!! We had them come out to simply put a walk way around our very small back yard, $1,300.00!!!!!! They showed up after 6pm to start and had everything loaded up and on their way out at 9:00pm. I believe the owner planned our project this way so we couldn't see anything when he was demanding payment. They half assed EVERYTHING, except for the clean up which they didn't even do. So very frustrating. I had to spend the whole next weekend cleaning up after them and do all the finishing touches I felt our $1,300.00 should of more then covered!! I guess I should be fair and give this company one star for showing up, but I truly wish they didn't. Please use my experience with them so you don't have to. I could go on and on how the owner was rude and complained the entire time he was at our home overcharging us but I'm not I have to get back to repairing his mess he left for us before our guests show up. read more

WC Landscaping recently completed work on both our front yard and back yard. We started with the front yard with new irrigation, lawn, stone path and new plantings. It turned out beautiful. Balbir knew we were going to do the back yard as well and did a great job of making good decisions in the front that would make the backyard work easier. The backyard was a larger job and we worked with Balbir and Chris on a plan. I appreciate that Balbir paid attention to our budget and was able to save money on a new retaining wall by reusing existing stones that were already in the backyard. Because of the pandemic, he had a small crew which was actually very nice because we could build a relationship. Balbir has worked very hard to make us happy and continues to follow-up with us helping to replace a couple small plants that were not happy in their new home. read more

I just called this landscaping company for a quote and he was very disrespectful and was asking me who am I and why I was calling. He told me I was disrespectful for asking him about a quote. If there was some type of language barrier he should learn to understand when new clients/ customers call. I would not recommend this company to anyone due to his poor communication and lack of etiquette. In this economy this is not how a businessman should conduct his business. Just moved out to CA and called Walnut Creek Landscaping to get a quote. The guy who answered didn't even give me a chance to speak. I got out the words "I have a quick question" and he said "I'm really busy right now, I don't have time" and then hung up on me. Not sure how he is still in business if this is the way he treats customers. Completely unprofessional. I'm guessing the 5 star reviews are fake and the 1 star reviews are actual customers based off of the lack of ratings between 2 and 4 stars. Walnut Creek Landscaping did a beautiful job renovating our front and back yards. I really didn't know what to do and they came up with some great ideas in all different price ranges. Quality craftsmanship, excellent pricing, flexible hours and tons of follow up to make sure I was happy with my investment. I've had the pleasure of having Balbir do two projects for us. He has installed a new backyard lawn which included fixing the grade and fixing and updating the sprinkler system. We were so happy with that work, we had him come back for a second project installing a walkway and drought tolerant landscaping in a little used area. He also suggested, and made another unused but sunny area, into a garden area. It turned out beautiful! In addition he fixed a BBQ pad paver issue that someone else screwed up. That turned out to be quite a bit of work which he did for free because he just didn't like the way it looked and neither did I! Wrote him a check anyway. I generally don't give 5 stars but because he's so very hands on even with the small details and makes sure everything is looking just right and done correctly I'll make a well deserved exception. I'll highly recommend to family and friends and anyone else who needs landscaping done.. Five stars in my book. read more

This review is long overdue. We used walnut creek landscaping in 2010 for our front yard and again in 2011 for our backyard. We are the envy of the block and still get many compliments on our flagstone walkway. We had a stamped concrete patio put in the backyard, which still looks great. Balbir has good instincts. I had a very small job - reconfiguring my front courtyard/removing old plants creating a patio area by laying pavers, plus laying some river rock around my back patio. The work was done promptly, professionally, and the area was cleaned-up afterwards. The workmen hired by the owner were knowledgeable and pleasant to work with - particularly the man who laid the new front patio and built the new planter. I was not entirely pleased with the configuration of the sprinkler head in the new planter but the owner responded immediately, fixed the sprinkler head that day. read more
