The grounds and room are clean and in a convenient location. The place has clearly been renovated since the last reviews were posted. The staff were nice both on the phone and in-person. My only complaint is that the carpet made my feet black in the short time from the walk from the shower to the bed. They are in major need of cleaning. Everything else was fine and I enjoyed my stay. The only microwave on site is in the lobby so that is something to keep in mind. The smoking rooms are downstairs and non-smoking are upstairs. I did not see any rooms or parking spots dedicated to handicap people during my time there, so there is a good chance that if you need an accessible room, it might be a smoking room. read more

The room was really nice, the cleaning lady and her son was the best part of the stay (and the ice machine) but the parking, the people who live there, and the staff seriously sucks and makes it not worth coming here at all. It's about 80.00 a night, and seemed reasonable online / in pictures. My sister from Texas came for a quick visit, and we tried to make the best of it. People walking around / shouting / blasting music all hours of the night and morning, then people running like crazy upstairs...you will get no sleep here. Checkout is at 11, and they are seriously on your ass to get out the moment it hits 11. Why not use that energy to tell people to shut up when we can't sleep all night / morning? Lol. Also, we weren't able to check in just an hour early. They wanted us to pay more LOL. We wanted to stay an extra day, we asked how much and the parents said "109.99" when online said 89.00! Then we left to the travel lodge next door and as soon as the owner caught wind of it, he was pissed and begged us to stay. I'm guessing next door is his rivalry? lol. Advertised that they check in at 2:30 they would not let us check in till 3:30 even though we showed them the website They wanted to charge us $25 more for 45-minute early check in even though the website said otherwise. STAFF/OWNERS REALLY RUDE!!! The room was dirty there were cigarette butts under the refrigerator there was an old bedspread that had cigarette burn holes and stains all over it. Disappointing Stay I Don't Even Want To Give Them One Star I recently stayed there from February 13 thru February 15. The shower head and faucet were broken. The shower and faucet were running at the same time. The water from the faucet was extremely hot and the water in the tub didn't go down due to poor drainage. Not only the water fail to drain properly but I also sustained burns from the scolding hot water when attempting to adjust the temperature. The bed sheets and pillows covers were covered in black stains,which is totally unacceptable and unsanitary I asked the front attendant how often do they change the bedding and he told me every other day. When I reported these issues to the front desk attendant who only gave me his name as "Mr. G". Unhelpful and very dismissive. He said that we didn't know how to use a shower. I asked him a couple of times to accompany me to the room to show him the problem and he refused to check. On top of the horrible stay I was charged $250.00 for two nights. Overall my stay at Walnut Inn was a complete let down. As a frequent traveler, I expected a much better service and accommodation. Hopefully the owner and manager take this feedback seriously and improve their standards and their employees. Until then I'll be taking my business elsewhere read more

Just needed a place to spend the night and early start in the morning. FORGET IT! Did not sleep a wink. Anytime the shower or water was turned on I heard it very clearly in my room. Awesome. Had no problems whatsoever. I checked in kind of late but luckily I got a room next to the vending machine. I felt very safe here. The bed was a little stiff (I suffer from back problems) but it was fine because thankfully the couch had a pull out bed which was much more comfortable for me and came out fully sheeted. The air conditioning worked good and was very cold. Big screen tv. Shower pressure was good and there was shampoo and soap packets. And of course the price was great. No complains, it was very quiet and peaceful, nice service and was a perfect stop for a quick stay. read more

Worst hotel ever!! DO NOT STAY HERE! So I decided to try and save some money by staying at this ghetto ass hotel but as soon as I arrived I realized I made a huge mistake. First off the parking lot was so full I couldn't find parking, then there was also crackheads walking around all hours of the night. When I got to my room not only did my tv not work but the shower didn't work either. The worst part was the people staying above me were having a party until 2am and management didn't do anything to stop it. When I finally start falling asleep someone prank calls my room, I was really tempted in just leaving this place in the middle of the night. Showed up to check in around 4:30 or so, person in front asked my name and made a phone call. She then tells me your reservation had been cancelled due to unconfirmed payment. ZERO STARS!! GHETTO!! Stay away!! My fiance and I found this place on Travelocity thinking it was okay. We were in town for an "event" for 4 days. We informed them at the front desk we will not be staying all 4 days. Only tonight. Desk person gave me attitude about that and charged us extra for only staying one night. Now to the Room. ANYTHING BUT A "SUITE" as stated. Basic "motel 6" room at best. First off TV remote didn't work called desk they said "bring it to them" and they would give us a new one. Second no coffee maker in room. Third my Fiance wanted to do her hair before we went to eat. NO HAIR DRYER!! came back from dinner NO PARKING!! Very dissatisfied. A man charged my card the incorrect amount and then when I told him it was wrong he walked away. A lady came out, who was on her phone, and reversed the charge and then charged the correct amount SHE NEVER GOT OFF THE PHONE the entire time. We never got the WiFi code either. Yes the rooms were remodeled, but the mattress was as hard as a rock and you we're afraid to roll over because the squeaked so bad. The toilet paper was way to thin and the towels got smaller each day we stayed. The last day it was like the size of a hand towel. Will never stay again. read more

- 5 STARS. I booked my "Deluxe King" room online the morning of. It didn't give me any check-in times, so I believed it was okay to check in when I would arrive later that night. I arrive, try to check in the front desk and they told me they already gave my room away because I didn't "call" to save my spot after 2PM. The Guy started to lecture me and talk to me like i was a child. I was visually upset so they gave me a REGULAR 2 BED room BUT charged me an extra 35 dollars for it. I didn't mind it at this point i just wanted to go to sleep and rest. The next morning around 9 AM ( Check-out is @ 11 AM ) the front desk guy is banging on my window multiple times, I was scared... i didn't answer until he came back around for the 6th time. I opened the door and they told me i owed them a 'Hotel Convenience Fee' of $120.00, i refused and they made me check out EARLY, and come up to the front desk just to find out they had the wrong person! I left immediately. I packed in a rush and ended up forgetting my device, so i called to tell them and they said they would hold it for me. I called later that week to confirm that I was coming to pick it up and they tell me they don't know what i'm talking about and that I need to come when a manager is around, i asked if they could just call the manager and they refused, saying they don't have their managers number. I explained i couldn't pick it up any other day and if they could please just call them and they got very rude and hung up on me, so i called AGAIN. He wanted to charge us for my friend being in the room for 10 minutes! He then pointed at a sign where it said to "please wear a mask" due to covid and starts saying "no visitors!!". He kept yelling and placed his hands almost inside the car and on our driver's window. I told my boyfriend to drive off. Shady shady place full of rude staff and the rooms aren't even cleaned like they should. There were large handprints on our headboard, the couch looked like it had weird stains on it, the room was "non-smoking" but it smelled like smoke. DONT COME HERE!!
