So I found this location online and looked at the reviews so decided to give us an shot However, this was super out of my comfort zone when you get there it's a pretty cute place from the outside parking is difficult to find if it's more than one person. So when I walk in the room, I automatically tell the room smells dirty and cold, and it just doesn't feel comfortable. The air is super loud. If you decide to turn it on restroom got clogged up it smell very dirty in there and it was just overall very uncomfortable. I couldn't really sleep at night it felt like the sheets were not clean properly. This is a true old school motor inn reminiscent of an era gone by, when travel by automobile meant something a time of traveling the mother road of America. My room had a covered parking space next to it and this was to say not only convenience a very cool way to park and travel, there aren't many like this anymore. I've driven by this motel so many times without noticing it but when I needed a cheap place to stay for a concert that was in town this place couldn't be beat. $80 for a night is a steal in this area on a weekend. King sized bed, air conditioning, fridge, microwave, parking, tv, wifi, large room and bathroom what more could you ask for? This motel was better then some of the nicer hotels I've stayed in on the inside. Also looks like this place fills up quickly so booking in advance is a must. Our room was in the back of the complex away from the street which was perfect. Service was good, friendly and prompt. Checking in and out was super easy. Also I was grateful for the location, close to many restaurants and liquor stores it's perfect for grubbing and getting your "party on" like we did after the concert. I would totally recommend this place, don't get hung up on the fact that it's a motel because for the price it really was worth it. read more

Right when I got here I was helped by this sweet lady, I started asking her about prices and how big the rooms were and she was kind enough to show me the rooms without me even bringing it up.( not a lot of people do that) I seen the queen size room and I liked it. When my boyfriend walked in the room he was pretty surprise to see that it was very clean, spacious and it had both a mini fridge and microwave. I also liked that there was a built in hairdryer in the bathroom. Very convenient because I forgot mine(lol). One of the main reasons I chose to stay here is because almost every review mentioned how clean it was, and every single one of them was right. Our room was spacious, nicely updated and spotless. The manager was friendly, kind and readily available. When I asked for an extra blanket she brought it over right away. The street it is on has a number of businesses, which is convenient, but once you are inside the property you can relax and enjoy the beautiful, landscaped grounds. Well I was a little dubious about our stay, even though the Yelp reviews were very positive about this place. I tried to check rates and book a room on their web site. It doesn't work. The I tried to call direct and about the third try a non-english speaking woman who was apparently holding a very unhappy baby answered the phone. No luck there either. I finally used one of those 3rd party booking sites. I don't like to use those because your cancellation options are usually limited. But the location was perfect for this trip and the reviews were good so we decided to try it. When we pulled in I couldn't find the entrance to the office because there isn't an office. Finally someone came to the "ticket window" and I slid my card thru the slot in the glass and collected my key and free wi-fi code. What we found was a clean and well maintained old route 66 motor court. Tropical looking plants feature prominently on the grounds creating a unique and very private atmosphere. Most of the rooms have adjacent covered parking although I didn't try to squeeze our 3/4 ton crew cab into one. And while the room wasn't perfect it is obvious they do not let things go unattended here. It was clean, comfortable and worked out well for our trip. If they had been easier to contact I would have given them four stars. read more

Nice bungalow style motel located on Historic Route 66 in Glendora, CA. This hidden gem has less than 20 rooms with plenty of on site and covered parking. My room had wooden floors, nice bathroom, and a big flat screen tv. The rooms were modern enough, quiet, and comfortable. I stayed here for three days and really enjoyed my stay but unfortunately they don't serve breakfast or it would have been an ideal location. Finally the maids leave you alone here and are not banging on the door and breathing down your neck upon check out time. I cannot express my appreciation for this since pushy maids are a huge pain in the ass for me and a problem at most hotels I stay at. Overall a really nice hotel in the San Gabriel Valley. read more

I really don't know how this place got a good rating. I called to make reservations and the lady was very rude to me over the phone. When I asked about having an assistant dog, she told me that I had to pay more. Having an assistant dog is not a pet and you're not supposed to charge extra for them. But after asking her about the dog, she hung up the phone on me, then when I called back, she tried to play it off like if it was my phone that didn't. I asked her if she had a room available for the upcoming week, and she said all she had was smoking rooms available. This Motel only has 15 rooms, which makes it almost impossible to get a reservation. I definitely will not be going to this location.! read more

I stayed here for 4 days last month, and I have to say this place is well taken care of. Nice, clean, quiet and spacious room. The housekeeping, grounds, and desk staff were friendly and helpful. They didn't mind that I ask to leave an hour and a half later than standard checkout when I mentioned that my flight didn't leave until later in the the afternoon. I hate to give a bad review. I'm on hold right now with my bank, to dispute the charge for our room. My fiance and I decided to stay here to make our lives a little less complicated, as we have an early appointment in town tomorrow. Sadly, we found a cockroach in our room (along with spiders and a bug or 2). The people in the room next door are blasting music, and I believe using drugs (won't go into the details of that). We decided to inform the management, and ask for a refund. When approached with these issues, she proceeded to tell us that 1 cockroach isn't too many. And basically blame us, saying something about how we only wanted the room to use the bathroom? I couldn't quite follow that logic. She refused to even consider a refund. My bank is filing a claim, as the service was misrepresented. I don't know if our expectations of cleanliness, quiet, and a drug free environment are asking too much, but for the price, I believe so. I wouldn't spend $20 a night to stay in these conditions. I generally go to a hotel to get away from life's daily problems, not encounter these sort of conditions. Disappointed would be an understatement. Spend another $40 if you want your basic needs in a hotel met. I wouldn't consider staying here again. read more

Good wifi (just needed to connect it a few times), amazing air conditioning, huge room, shower was nicely sized, there was working CABLE TELEVISION, a functional fridge and microwave IN-ROOM, and bathroom overall was pretty big! The staff was very welcoming and great with checking us in. They also scored us an extra hour for check out time since my flight home isn't until later. It even had a couch and table, along with a desk, tv, bed (duh), fridge, microwave, and a spacious bathroom. I've stayed at the Palm Tropics 3 times in the last year and a half. It's beginning to feel like home. Each stay has been for a minimum of 4 nights as my mother lives close by in Azusa and has required frequent hospitalizations. This feels like a place of refuge after sitting all day in a hospital room, running errands, getting lost on the endless boulevards of mini mall after mini mall, all streets looking the same. I'm a clean freak and this place is clean. The decor is great for a motel of this price (as a former architect, I can get very picky.) I almost hate to write this , as I would prefer to keep it a secret, but...Anyway, staff are great, kind. It's a funny little Oasis in the midst of the flatlands. And, biggest shocker of all -- two young women commented on my WTFpod teeshirt. I was heartened to know they recognized Marc Maron an icon of liberalism.
