Formerly the location of a Tuesday Morning, Ace Hardware now has a convenient location near me, in Lakewood. Prior, I had to drive a bit further into Long Beach to visit Ace. Needing to duplicate a house key, I remembered the new Ace location, so decided to check out the new store to accomplish my mission. Walking inside, I was immediately greeted, where I let them know my reason for visiting, and was quickly helped. The key cutting took about 5 minutes, costing only $6. While I was there, I noticed signage specifying Ace also cuts & programs car key fobs. I asked for an estimate, and was quoted $150. Wow! I recently had a mobile locksmith cut & program a new key fob for my vehicle, and I had paid $250. Granted, the convenience factor of having the locksmith show up at home & around 11 pm at night, the service should cost more. Knowing Ace can do the job and less costly to boot, I'll be heading to Ace when the need should arise. Ace Hardware's staff were friendly & hospitable, especially the gentleman handling the key duplication. Parking is via a shared lot, at the Vons Supermarket plaza. Ace is located on the left of Daiso. I am highly satisfied with my visit to Ace Hardware in Lakewood. I accomplished what I set out to do, didn't pay ridiculous prices, and have an option for car key fob cutting & programming, in the future. Also, Ace Hardware is not big & intimidating, compared to the big box hardware stores Home Depot & Lowes. I highly recommend Ace Hardware.

It was pretty empty with a few employees and I assume a regular or two (plumbers I think??) that were conversing. Another employee/manager had to urge one of the staff members to actually help load the heater into our truck though as they kind of just left it on a dolly for us at the entrance/exit, haha. Monday was the last day of a 40% off sale on paint, so my wife insisted on coming here to get more paint in preparation for some more work on our condo that we will need to do in the future. I've always bought our paint from Home-Depot or sometimes even Menards, but I guess Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore (founded in 1883, now owned by Berkshire Hathaway) are considered the best paint brands and I found a reddit thread about opinions on the matter. The store is located by itself (no other retail stores within walking distance) with its own dedicated parking. There were contractors who were there to get supplies, but the store wasn't too busy. The front clerks were very helpful, helping us to match paint colors, and we were on our way. Even with the discount, 2 cans of paint, a brush, and roller cost over $150. I guess we will see how much of a difference the brand makes.

Damien is amazing. He's so knowledgeable about colors and what colors match. He is also so kind and patient.
