While driving through the village, I stopped in at Sub Hubb at 6pm, but then I realized they close at 6pm, which is a bit early for dinner time. The person at the counter was cashing out a customer as I walked in at closing time. I asked if I could still get some food and was told cold items only. I got a 8" Tuna Sub ($7.99 plus tax) made to order with mayo, lettuce, tomato slices, and red onions and a Macaroni Salad and Potato Salad, each under $2 with tax. I was the final customer of the day and I enjoyed with food outside on a sunny warm evening. The tasty and filling tuna sub had a dense albacore tuna salad mix with lettuce, tomato, red onions, and spread of mayo on a soft white sub roll. The deli salad were also good, especially with my sub. I am so glad that I was able to get a tuna sub with deli salads for my dinner, right before closing.

I was doing a Yelp search for a deli and this place popped up. It's not in downtown Andes so the nearby function hadn't shown it. It's an old timey country store/corner store with its Coca Cola soda case and home made cookies. They've got a little bit of everything that you could possibly need from Crisco and vegetable oil to high end vinaigrette, specialty marinara sauces, and jams. They sell books on the area and a local author popped in to pick up some bread and drop off a couple of more copies up his book. There's also free used books; I picked up Sidney Poitier's "The Measure of a Man". The prices are high but typical for a place pretty far off any regular delivery route. They're open every single day except Christmas Day. That's unheard of in this area and that's why they get 4 stars. If their prices were a little bit less then they'd get 5 stars.

It was decent but nothing really special. So why four stars. Because their Deli Sandwiches made with Boars Head Cold Cuts are fantastic. My wife brought home two Roast Beef Hoagies that were packed with delicious Boars Head Roast Beef. The bread was crisp on the outside and soft inside. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and tasty. The only thing I would recommend is that you ask for salt and pepper in any Boars Head Cold Cuts because Boars Head doesn't add salt to their meats, which is actually a good thing. This is a great place to get a sandwich.
