A diner I wish was open. The guy working said "she makes great food but she opens when she wants. She's not here all the time."
    Cindy G.

5 stars if it weren't for the smoking. Walt's is hysterical and exactly what I want in a bowling alley. The dingier, the divey-er the BETTER! Why I love this place? Well for a few reasons... the price, the dive bar inside and the fact that no one even knows this place exists. The bar inside seems like a place locals congregate and could give a shit less about bowling which always makes me laugh. They have cheap beer at around $3 a can or a bucket of 5 domestics for $12 and you can mix and match. The also have the usual suspects when it comes to liquor - don't expect anything craft and have your order ready when you come up to the window. I also appreciated that despite looking way out of place in my all black fancy outfit that the bartender didn't treat me any differently. There appears to be a greasy spoon lookin diner inside that I am DYING to go back for. The guy working told me the lady who owns it (or runs it) doesn't cook all the time. We were here on a weekend and it wasn't open, seems weird but w/e. They have touch tunes jukebox here which was surprising to me. You have to ask them to turn it on. We had fun using it since no one else was. We had a blast and played 6 games here which was more than I have ever played in one spot. Not more than 5-6 people came the entire day! This strip mall spot is a total hidden gem. Hit it up on a rainy day or if you're bored during the upcoming winter - you're sure to have a blast! -- REGULAR PRICING: Monday Thru Saturday until 6pm Adults Kids Seniors $3.10 per person/per game $2.75 per person/per game $1.40 per person/per game Monday Thru Saturday after 6pm Games $3.90 per person/per game All Day Sunday and Holidays Games $3.90 per person/per game League Bowlers on League Nights Games $2.00 per person/per game Shoe Rental SPECIAL PRICING: Friday Special Noon to 6pm Adults and Youth Seniors $2.50 per person/per game $1.40 per person/per game All You Can Bowl Saturday 12:30pm-3:15pm (1 person/2 lanes) Sunday 8:30am-11:15am (1 person/2 lanes) $8.00 per person $16.00 $8.00 each $16.00 Thunder Alley Midnight to 2:30am All You Can Bowl (includes shoe rental) $12.00 per person

The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is because they allow smoking in the bowling alley and I hate coming home smelling like smoke.

They made it work for us and were very accommodating. The food menu served was brunch. The menu was simple, but they had a lot to offer. I would best describe southern soul food. Very reasonable in pricing and the drink menu had a great selection as well. My fiancée and I ordered: Drinks: -Pinot noir -Manhattan -Espresso Martini Brunch: -Grilled salmon with side of onions & potatoes - Shrimp and grits For it being super busy, we didn't have to wait long for our food. It was fabulous. My salmon was grilled perfectly. The hot honey went very well with my salmon. The potatoes were delish. My fiancée really enjoyed his shrimp and grits. He mentioned that the shrimp was on point. I tried my friend's French toast . Wow! That was amazing. Nina was our server and she was great! Very polite and attentive. She was working really hard. I want to give her huge props. I highly recommend coming here. The DJ really knows his music and everyone was having a great time. That's all that matters, Right!? Great place!

We arrived mid afternoon and were the only customers there, which we were just fine with. The bartender was incredibly friendly and offered a lot of advice and his opinions on several of the bourbons. The more we talked to him, it seemed that he didn't quite know his bourbons, which is fine, because you need to start somewhere, but he also didn't seem to have his cocktail skills perfected either. Unfortunately, their website did not match what was currently being offered. I was excited to try one of their seasonal cocktails butt was told it was not available as that was the previous month's availability. I decided to go with an old fashioned instead but was sorely disappointed as it just fell flat and didn't seem to be in the bartenders wheelhouse. My boyfriend tried a cocktail as well but experienced the same letdown. We had read great reviews on Goodfellows pizzaria and did place an order but will review that thru the pizzeria itself. While the bar itself has the potential to offer a fun vibe and could entice you back for more, that was not what we experienced and will probably not return any time soon.

Their response? Turn the music up louder. It was much better organized in 2024, I hope Wiseguys does better. People were leaving because it was too hot, too loud and too crowded. Oh yeah - the rancid beer that my friend was served was epic and apparently they (Wiseguys) were selling regular Blantons as "barrel picks" and upcharging them.

The short rib with mashed potatoes was absolutely wonderful, and of course I had to add fries just for fun. My waiter was fabulous, attentive, and very informative about the menu. Ordering twice gave us the opportunity to explore several dishes, and the quality and presentation remained thoughtful each time. Service was prompt and seamless, allowing us to enjoy a restaurant-level meal in the comfort of our room without losing the sense of intention behind the food. We sampled the steak and eggs, omelette, pork hash, along with lattes and cappuccinos. The coffee program was excellent, balanced and well crafted, pairing beautifully with the savory dishes. The steak and eggs and omelette were satisfying and well executed, but the true standout was the pork hash. It was deeply flavorful, comforting yet elevated, with a richness that felt chef-driven rather than heavy. Every bite carried warmth and depth, making it the highlight of our stay. Metropole succeeds in creating a dining experience that feels both approachable and quietly sophisticated. Even through in-room dining, the kitchen's attention to detail shines through, making it a place we would gladly return to for another thoughtfully prepared meal.

Now my BFF is working a block away, so we hit it up to start off my birthday weekend and I'm definitely going to have to make it a regular stop. Happy hour deals are the most clutch here. Half off all the drinks (or at least almost all - they say there are "rare" exceptions, but I haven't encountered any. Even the specialty cocktails were half off! AND it goes until 7pm. (If your happy hour ends before 6, it's not happy.) The main bar is moody and honestly makes it kind of feel like you're transported. I believe they open the front windows during nice weather but in the winter, you're snug and cozy and the hustle and bustle of Walnut St is miles away. There is counter seating and then the other side is a long line of a booth seat with bistro tables and extra stools. The courtyard in the back is its own vibe and another transport. You're outside! No, you're inside! Kind of like Arnold's patio. There's a bar back there too. No snacks here (all the bars should have some snacks, dammit!) but it's more of a stop on the way to the rest of your night. Check out Righteous Room - it's an institution to still be open after more than a decade.

These are my kind of people! Here's how it went... Atmosphere/Appearance: This place has a lovely, wide-open concept, is lively and pretty big to be honest. It looks like it could double as a nightclub/lounge during the evening and night hours. It's a downtown location so there is no private parking lot so good luck with finding street parking or parking across the street in a lot you need to pay for. The inside is nicely decorated and the music was PUMPING. It's certainly an energetic brunch. Once you come in you're greeted by several booths, but then you make a right and go up a half-flight of stairs to see the bar then the buffet area. Service: This is where they lost a star. Our servers were great, but they were either spread to thin and overworked or just forgetful. We were here for the bottomless mimosas, but many times our glasses were left empty and we had to flag someone down for refills. Other than that shortcoming, everything else was great. Food: As I just mentioned this place does serve bottomless mimosas with a buffet. The buffet has all of your traditional breakfast foods as well as things like shrimp & grits, macaroni & cheese, popovers and so much more. I was very impressed at the selection and the food was delicious. The mimosas weren't juicy at all and were firing on all cylinders. Value: I can't remember what it was for the bottomless brunch, but I feel like $45.00 rings a bell. I could be wrong, but don't be stupid and be prepared. Like, unlimited food AND unlimited drinks... be prepared to spend because it's absolutely worth it. In conclusion, if and when I'm in the area again, I WILL be making a return visit to Copa. I loved it here!

Now that it's Ivy Lounge, it looks like they're trying to be more of a cocktail bar, but they're not doing a very good job. First of all, we went up to the bar and I asked for a cocktail list. They looked at me like I was crazy and they said they don't have one. Then I asked them what wines they have. The bartender didn't even know....So I just got a bottle of beer (Fat Tire for $5.50 a bottle). They must be hiring bartenders based on looks, and not actually bartending skills. We got our drinks quickly though, so that was nice. The music was so loud at 10pm on a Saturday that we had to yell at each other, but no one was even dancing. It was just a really weird atmosphere...You couldn't dance, you couldn't talk....There was almost nothing to do but awkwardly stare at your drink or the weird decor. I don't think I'll be back.
