Fortunately, this saga has a happy ending: great wings and discounted beer. I think C3 Tavern BBQs their wings before finishing them off. They offer a house sauce and an Old Bay sauce, and if you ask nicely, they'll even do a 50/50 mix. The wings were meaty, flavorful, and cooked just right. The adventure didn't stop there. We took our wings across the street to Elk River Brewing, where they were trying to kick a keg and offering $3 draft specials. You know how I feel about beer and anything half-price. There was a concert in Elkton that night, so the brewery was filled with chatty, excited concertgoers. Between the wings, the beer, and the people-watching, it was a great afternoon filled with some of my favorite things.

After a few minutes looking over the menu, she appeared and we ordered. I got the Stampede Burger, while one of my friends got the Prime Dip sandwich (AKA French Dip), and one got chicken fingers. All came in reasonable time and were quite good, hearty food. So, why the one star off? Dessert. Could we have a brownie sundae? Out of brownies. OK, how about chocolate cake? Out of that, too. Uh...red velvet? Out. Basically everything chocolate. Sigh. Yeah, it was busy but not insane. We ended up not getting dessert, and it was disappointing. Whoever's managing food orders and prep, please do better. Also, if it's not available, it would have been great for the server to say so up front, that way she didn't have to tell us no 3 times.
