Dinner at Prime 225 was mostly hits. The wine selection was great for pairing with the meal, but the steak was just okay. The Brussels sprouts were the true star, followed closely by the delightful beignets. The lobster and crab dish was massive and as delicious as it was impressive- definitely expect leftovers. The place has a small and intimate charm. Just a heads up, parking can be tough, so I recommend getting there early on a Friday or Saturday and enjoying a pre-dinner walk. read more

Small and intimate place with lovely charm located along a Main Street in a quaint waterfront town. Parking could be an issue. There's outdoor seating (small area on the sidewalk), indoor bar with about 10-12 seats, and a small dining area. Very chill and relaxed vibe. Menu has great selection of food. Not just seafood options, but also non seafood available as well. We only came in for drinks and sat at the bar. Several groups ordered dinner and what came out looked good. Especially the desserts! Ordered a lemon drop martini and a Sidecar and both were lovely. It was a bit busy so service was super fast, but that's to be expected in a small restaurant where people at the bar are eating full meals and there's one bartender for the entire place. We celebrated a birthday here. I had the porterhouse and she had the filet. Both were coooked to perfection and absolutely mouthwatering! Best steak I've had in ages - chateaubriand cooked perfectly, wonderful Caesar salad, lobster bisque that stops traffic. These guys have got it right. Pricey? Yeah, a little, but go to the crumby mass market steakhouses and bring your dental insurance policy with you. Really disappointed in our dinner at Prime 225 last week. It used to be great and a nice treat but not any more. The portion sizes have decreased while the prices have significantly increased. We live part time in NYC and we paid more at Prime for very similar meals in Manhattan. I was also shocked upon receiving the check to see we were charged a credit card fee! Nobody is doing that anymore, especially high end restaurants. I will no longer be recommending this restaurant to friends and family. read more

Let me start out by saying this is an outstanding restaurant, with outstanding food, and outstanding service. My family has been here twice and we have enjoyed our experience. Today we were celebrating our sister's birthday booking a 4:30PM reservation at the suggestion of the person who took our reservation since there would be 8 of us. Unfortunately, we were asked to leave because we were there too long according to the manager. Highly insulted after having spent over $1K and a 25%+tip. We were not told upon making the reservation there was a time limit. We will be back due to the aforementioned qualities of the restaurant, and the service from Carol & Tamara, but this reservation definitely did not end well. Absent of asking us to leave, this would have been a 5 star review. read more

This restaurant is super cute, it's a little small, but that adds the charm, the bar looks sleek and modern, and the dining area is very pretty, and modern like the bar, it has a very romantic feel especially with the very cute heart folded napkins. Service was perfect, our waitress was very polite and very attentive, without hovering too much which really added to the romantic feel of the restaurant. (We got Hayden) The food came out in a good amount of time, little wait and it was very worth it, I had gotten the Tuna Steak and my partner ordered the Airline Chicken. We went to Prime225 for my brother's birthday the other day and were absolutely blown away! Not only is the restaurant on a cute street, the space is so cute and well decorated. As a large party, I find that getting enough attention can be difficult but our server did an amazing job and was so nice! I didn't try a cocktail but the menu options sounded fabulous and I cannot wait to go back! We started with the Caesar (as a self proclaimed casear salad connoisseur, this was in my top 3 Caesar's ever), Brussels (which are probably some of the best I have ever had. Get them! Pre-Covid, this was our 'go to special occasion' spot. No longer. You might as well as plan on $100 (or a bit more) a head, and that's not getting much more than a glass of wine, and something on the menu. If you get appetizer's, desserts, etc.... (or god forbid a 2nd glass of wine)--you are WELL north of $100 a person. Just not worth it, and this place has been a family fav for years. I've visited this place three times with no regrets. The place is cozy and has a nice ambiance about it. Reservations are ideal to assure you are able to be seated. They are known for their steaks, but have other food options. It's a nice setting for cozy a dinner on a quiet and quaint historical street. I did not order steak, but my friend did; he was very pleased with it and the portion as well. One thing that surprised me and I truly appreciated was their light up menu. It truly makes it so easy to see in the dim restaurant and helped make the experience pleasurable. Our waiters have always been attentive and friendly. We have been to Prime 225 about 6-8 times over the last few years. We've noticed it has been going down hill. This last visit on 11/24/2024 was probably the last time we will go there unless they make some major adjustments. Food: I had the Filet and my wife had the rockfish with crab. The filet was tasteless and minutely small for an 8oz serving. The rockfish was way overcooked to the point that it was hard to cut into bite sized pieces. The mushrooms were underwhelming as were the green beans and mashed potatoes. Service: The bus staff, although friendly, were inattentive and didn't "read the table". We are patient people and appreciate those who are learning. However, training the waitstaff is recommended. We are not there for nourishment. We are there for the experience and are paying handsomely for it. Ambiance: We don't want to be too picky here but when you slide into a booth at what is supposed to be a very nice special occasion restaurant, you shouldn't have to slide over a strip of duct tape on both seat cushions. I probably wouldn't have said anything about this if all else met our expectations. To summarize, I really don't write reviews but realize that changes don't happen unless the establishment receives some helpful feedback. When we discussed our latest experience with our friends and neighbors, they have had similar experiences as our last one......"Underwhelming and over priced". Prime 225 used to be an impressive restaurant. We hope they can get back to that status. We are well traveled locals and want local establishments to do well. My wife and I went there on Tuesday evening (7/9) and as soon as I walked thru the door I noticed patrons wearing t shirts. This restaurant should have a dress code IMO. Next I noticed the restaurant was hot. Yes it's July but I found out the A/C had been compromised for several days. I wished someone said something when I made my reservation, it was very disappointing to be sweating while trying to enjoy a cocktail and a steak. My wife and I normally would have stayed for dessert and after dinner drinks, but we were soaked with perspiration as were the servers. Now the good! The service was excellent, the cocktails were spot on and both the appetizers and entrees were perfectly executed the way they've been every time I come here. My boyfriend and I ate here over the summer one year. He got a steak and I got a crab cake. We also got an appetizer of sticky ribs. Those ribs were the best I ever had in my entire life!
