It is packed with lively, colorful, yet elegant women's wear for everyday or special occasions. We wandered in out of the "atmospheric river" that was falling on the Central Coast and had fun looking for gifts for a couple of friends with upcoming birthdays. The saleslady was very friendly and instantly made us feel at home. It was easy to find a casual, creative top for one friend and a stunning pair of socks for another, both at reasonable prices. We also got ideas for birthday gifts in the near future. I know from experience that these are the kind of clothes that make you feel light-hearted and well-dressed every time you put them on. They are also in keeping with the arty vibe of Cambria and perfect for wearing around the central Coast.

New Moon and Hello Boutique offer excellent customer service, great websites, many fashion options and promotions, and are most definitely my go-to stores as an online shopper. I am an Arizona resident in my later 60's, once tall and slim, with 40+ years of daily 60-minute walks under my belt, aerobically fit, and adherent to a good diet. Unfortunately, genetic arthritis has worsened to the point that I have significant mobility disability issues with over 3" of height loss and a figure that can no longer be considered slim. New Moon and Hello Boutique have allowed me to feel comfortable and attractive again, with fashions that are flattering, eclectic and trendy. Better signage might be helpful, but it doesn't seem they get enough business to get a new sign. This gift shop/convenience store doesn't have much to offer, but the owners are super sweet. They even have a cute dog named spanky. The lady running the place had a wonderful sense of humor and was very sweet. As far as gift shop, they have the usual run of the mill shot glasses, post cards and coffee mugs. They also had swim trunks but no bathing suits...slightly saddened by that considering I'd forgotten mine; I probably wouldn't have bought one anyway...but still, having them for men and not for women? Lacking... They have an ample supply of beer which perhaps makes up for the fact that they didn't have women's bathing suits. They also had a random supply of convenience store goodies...shampoo, other toiletries and whatnot. They have a couple of chairs out front that we sat in for a while and enjoyed the view.

Three woman pour out laughing and I overhear one say "I can't believe we just spent three hours in that place." Thinking that it will be a hoot to make fun of the women, the store, and everything in it, I pull my travel buddy in. The store is just as I thought it would be: a total hodge podge of candy, purses, liquor and jewelry. As I poke fun of the assortment of glass sea creatures I notice a large pink and green stone set in silver. I fall in love instantly, as I very seldom do. The lady pulls out the ring and I slip it on to my finger and I realize that it has found a new home. As I sit there admiring the way it complements my skin, she slashes the price three times - not knowing that I would have gladly paid full price.

I wasn't exactly greeted, but was followed by a lady ranting about her schedule, into the first room, which was full of fun, relaxed dresses I explored more of the room displays. Each area seemed to be dedicated to a different musician. There was a black room with lots of OTT clothes and a large picture of Cher. The next section had a picture of Annie Lenox, with a rocker vibe, lots of tops and jeans. There was also clothing with pictures of the Beatles, and Beatles cards. Rock star coffee table books rested in a shelf, alongside elegant tote bags. Lots of creative cards and thoughtful books were on display!
