July is National Ice Cream month and today is National Ice Cream Day! This made for the perfect time to visit Wanderlust Creamery. I've been a fan of Wanderlust ice cream since I first tried them at a Yelp Elite event back in 2016. I also really love the Sawtelle location and so I was super excited when I found out they were opening one in Torrance! Located at Rolling Hills Plaza, this spot is a great place for an afternoon treat or late night dessert. I stopped by to get my favorite Sticky Rice + Mango flavored ice cream. Walking in this place smells like heaven. I instantly loved the sweet smell the moment I walked in. I loved getting a scoop of my ice cream in their ube waffle cup. For an extra $1.50, this added an extra sweet touch. The Sticky Rice + Mango definitely hit the spot. It was so tasty and fruity. Paired with the ube waffle cup, it was the perfect summer treat. Overall, it was one sweet day visiting here and since it is still National Ice Cream month, I may just need to visit again ;).
Love the Japanese Neapolitan ice cream but many times they run out. Ordered the trio and you can get a variety. Also got the black sesame and the uba. Both were good but prefer the Neapolitan. Located in the Rolling Hills Plaza on Crenshaw.
Filipino owned ice cream shop. I loved their ice cream when I first tried them in Santa Monica area. I was super excited to see them open in the South Bay Area! I love how they give 3 small scoop sampler as an option! Super affordable and perfect for indecisive people like me! Their Asian inspired Neapolitan was a genius combo! Welcome to South Bay! Thank you for being open late!
Ok ok I am loving Wanderlust Creamery. It's so delicious and the flavors are original. So far I've tried the mango sticky rice, ube malted crunch and pandan tres leches. I would get all again. Like today. Is it a little pricey? Yes, but worth it! I would suggest just getting a pint and taking it home
Came to wanderlust creamery for a quick dessert after dinner. Was very excited about uniquely flavored ice cream. Overall, ice cream quality was very good super thick and creamy.I especially enjoyed the wafer cone. I will say, the non-American flavors were kind of a letdown. I tried the Ashta ice cream which was described as tasting like orange blossom and rosewater on cream. It ended up tasting like vanilla ice cream that was placed in a room in where there was rosewater and orange blossom perfume sprayed on the other side. I had to close my eyes and try really hard to taste what they were telling me to taste. So overall good quality ice cream but if you want to taste the flavors, they're telling you to taste. You're gonna have to close your eyes and use your imagination real hard.
Cute new place in Torrance. Tried the Ube crunch, sticky mango rice, passion fruit cacao, and the pandan tres leches. They were all good. The pandan tree leches was very subtle in flavor and my least favorite. The rest were super flavorful. They don't really have a seating area, and the portions are on the smaller side. Still a good addition to the area.
I got one scoop of the ube crunch in a cup. The ube flavor was really good. Creamy, slightly nutty, and not overly sweet. The crunch added a nice texture that made it a little more interesting than a standard scoop. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced. The shop has a clean, modern feel and the staff was friendly and quick. Easy spot to stop by when you want something sweet without overthinking it. Definitely coming back to try more flavors.
Extremely impressed with the seasonal flavors! Gotta try them before they go away! I have frequented the Wanderlust Creamery locations in Los Angeles, and did know the Torrance one opened up recently. My husband and I were going to drive out 40 minutes for a different shop but I saw the neon blue sign in the dark and we made an impromptu visit here. Honestly best decision of our night!! I felt compelled to write a review because the seasonal ice cream flavors were the best I've ever had from Wanderlust. The pain au chocolat tastes exactly like you think... a chocolate croissant. There is a crunchy, buttery flavor that I haven't experienced from other ice cream and I hope I can try it again before they rotate the flavors. I also tried a beurre de noisette flavor which was a brown butter with cookie dough. Also a delicious pick! I tried a sample of the Kyoto dark chocolate- and that was incredible. You can really taste the roasted tea flavor of hojicha and it compliments the chocolate well. We went with a trio and I had the pain au chocolat, the beurre noisette, and black sesame cookies and cream. I think the crunch in the black sesame cookies didn't shine as well and this was my least favorite flavor of the night. I love black sesame and just thought I would like it more. Happy to have Wanderlust in the South Bay. It's always a 10/10 and worth giving a try. They have flavors inspired by all different countries and I am a big fan of their ube malted crunch. Their flavors stay consistently good throughout the years. Cant wait to be more of a regular here at the Torrance location!
Came by to redeem a reward and to buy a gift card. Our experience when this location opened was so different from our experience today. My reward today was for $7 off a single scoop which expires today. I asked if I could upgrade my single and was told that the system wouldn't allow her to do that. After ordering a single for myself and a triple taster for my husband, I purchased a gift card as an Easter gift. I asked if I could have an empty cup to put the gift card in, and she refused. The scoops weren't as generous as when they first opened and the inflexibility of the server is the reason for my downgrade. We enjoyed the ice cream, though.
I love trying the seasonal flavors from wanderlust! My fav was the Sakura Matcha (not pictured) and a banana matcha (not pictured), I believe back in March. But I go at least once a month to try their new seasonal flavors! Service is always quick, no matter how many people there are. And it's always a chill spot to go to, just to hangout and talk with friends.
The good: I tried the black sesame cookies and cream, pineapple cake oolong, Kinder, and smoky road (had almonds in it). I really love how often they introduce new flavors and I love the innovative flavor combinations they come up with that incorporate worldly cuisines. They allow you to try samples. I got a single scoop which is the same as a kids' scoop I guess. They said the kids scoop gets a free topping (dried marshmallow sprinkles, colorful sprinkles, chocolate sprinkles, or sugar crystals). My kids enjoyed their ice creams. They're open until 10:30 PM which is later than most ice cream shops. The interior is small but trendy, cute and modern. The bad: I've been to 3 or 4 other Wanderlust locations before but this is the only one I've been to that doesn't have indoor nor outdoor seating. We walked to the outdoor seating area by Whole Foods to eat the ice cream. The interesting: The ice cream display has 2 rows but the back row is the same as the front row so there are half the number of flavor options than you may initially perceive. So, you pick from the first row and they scoop from the back row. They offer gift cards in store but also online e-gift cards. They have 8 locations and are opening another in San Diego. They offer catering for a minimum of 60 guests.
This feels like highway robbery. 1 single scoop of Ice cream for $7.50?! That's actually insane to me. I stopped by Sunday night as this was the only sweat treat place open. I ended up getting their hazelnut flavor-- I completely forgot the name of it. It was good. I enjoyed the flavor of it. I would rather go to Ugo in RB where I get 2 scoops in my cup for less the price. I understand having ice cream inspired by different cultures, but it doesn't justify the price. That one scoop did not last more than 5 minutes. And they weigh it?! The cashier weighed it before handing it to us and she said oh it's just for us to know. Like imagine being so specific about the serving size that you're weighing it before handing it to the customer.., like what if it's 10g too heavy? Do they scoop it out? Beats me.... Service wasn't anything special. It took forever to actually get inside as it's a smaller place I had to wait outside until there was space inside. And it was 2 groups of 2 and 1 group of maybe 4? Ahead of me. Everyone took their time sampling so I can't really be upset at the indecisive people. Overall I don't see myself coming back. It was a great place to try and I appreciate the extended hours for sure. But I can't afford to be getting 7.50 single scoops of ice cream when I could get a pint from the supermarket for that price.
I was very excited to see a Wanderlust opened up in Torrance near the AMC Rolling Hills. It's in the same plaza as Drybar, around the corner from Sephora. They don't have any chairs or tables inside which was a little disappointing. So we had to take our ice cream to go. There's a wide variety of unique flavors to choose from, many flavors inspired from countries around the world. I was really hoping to try the Seoul Banoffee Pie but unfortunately that one was seasonal and no longer available. They have signature flavors as well as seasonal flavors which change every month. We came in December when they had several holiday themed flavors. After sampling a few, my daughter chose the Christmas Cookies & Sea Salt Cream which had a sea salt sweet cream ice cream base with an assortment of crushed festive holiday cookies. It was $6.50 for a kids scoop which I thought was a little pricey because the scoop size was so tiny but it did include one free topping and was very tasty and creamy. The guy working and helping us was super friendly. I wouldn't say this is my favorite ice cream parlor in the South Bay (I personally prefer Kansha Creamery and Salt & Straw) but I'd be willing to come back. Parking: free in plaza lot
Absolutely fell in love with this place. Lots of parking, no inside seating but has a bench right outside, this place has a fun airport theme to it and I love the unique flavors inside. Service was great, they let us try many samples before deciding on our choices, the tasting trio is definitely the best idea any ice cream place has had in a while. Ice cream overall was amazing. My favorite was the Pandan tres leches, I would happily come here again and bring people. read more

my favorite ice cream shop by far. if you're looking for Asian flavors in ice cream form, this is the spot. i always visit when i go to SoCal. no cap on samples & they always have monthly rotating flavors. service is quick and parking is not an issue. pandan tres leches is always the go to. sticky mango rice & Japanese Neapolitan are close seconds. they need to expand to the bay! read more
Dreamy and creamy ice cream! Located in Rolling Hills Plaza. It is not easy to find. The shop is on the outer edge of the plaza past Sephora and close to Rubio's. The shop is small but, mighty with mesmerizing flavors! I thought I had been to their location in Venice but I confused them with their popular competitor. Omg, the Pandan Tres Leches is dreamy and so delightful and my favorite out of the two full scoops I got. The base is sweet creamy ice cream and the mix-in is green pandan spongecake pieces w/a condensed milk swirl. My second full scoop was the ube malted crunch and that was good. Would most def get the Pandan again though over this flavor. Hubby made a better choice of getting the three half scoops which are also better in prices compared to to full scoops. I had a taste of his taro malted marshmallow and kaya toast, a Singaporan inspired scoop. The base is toasted bread flavored and the swirl is kaya jam. Sweet, creamy, and aromatic! It's pretty much a to-go shop as there are no places to sit. Not a deterrent though. Would definitely return! read more

It's so nice to have a Wanderlust in the South Bay! I really like their unique flavors! How about Japanese Neapolitan, Ube Malted Crunch, Vietnamese Rocky Road, or Seoul Banoffee Pie? Yum! On our first visit to this store, we tried lots of samples. The lady was very helpful. We settled on a Tasting Trio. We opted for HotOnes Sweet Verde Heat, Christmas Cookies & Sea Salt, and Tres Leches Rompope for $8.75. The HotOnes has a good kick of spice to it! We enjoyed our selections! One thing that I was disappointed with was the lack of seating. This is a "grab & go" situation. We ended up standing outside and eating our ice cream. Would definitely be more enjoyable having a place to sit! I'm so glad I don't have to drive far for Wanderlust! read more

I appreciated the unique flavors here! However I'm giving 4 stars for pricing. I feel it's a little steep, artisanal or not. The flavors are really diverse, they seem mostly Asian inspired and I love them. I tried the sticky rice and mango + lilikoi li hing pineapple with a waffle cone. I chose those two together because I love fruity and creamy combos. My daughter tried the beurre noisette cookie dough, I will say she was not impressed as she said it was not flavored like traditional cookie dough (she's a picky eater) I believe that's because it is artisan and she doesn't know the difference yet but I thought it was good. I think this place is really cute, walking in the decor is simple, has a mellow ambiance to it and very clean. Service was good and fast we walked in when there was no one in line on Sunday. I think it's cute for a date night out but I probably would not purposely make the drive to have this particular ice cream. If ever in the area I'll come to try new flavors. I think they're in a great location and I hope business stays up for them. read more
My first time here! I've heard of so much buzz about this place. I finally had the chance to try it with my kids and nieces and wow!!!! It definitely met the hype!! Their service was excellent. We were approached by Malorie and Nayelie (I hope I spelled that correctly) and they explained all the flavors and were more than welcome to try the flavors!!! My son ordered the pandan flavor, I got the mango sticky rice and of course who doesn't order ube flavor when it's on the meñu!!! They even had the genmaicha flavor which I totally missed. It it gives me another reason to go back very soon. Over all dishes they would have a branch in the Cerritos area. Over all STELLAR service, ambiance (very clean) but the only question I have is how come there aren't any chairs where customers can sit outside and enjoy their treat? read more

I discovered this location accidentally while browsing the TooGoodToGo app... what!?! if they're a part of TGTG, then I'm doomed. LOL ;-) I missed out because it was sold out; it was $9.99 for a $30 surprise bag value that includes 2 containers of seasonal ice creams. I think it's a misquote since their pints are $13 so it's a deal, but not the typical value of 2/3 discount. I first heard of Wanderlust Creamery 7 years ago when I met Owner Adrienne Borlongan at Yelp's Baked Alaska DIY (refer to Review #353). I've been to a couple locations: Venice (refer to Review #511) & Pasadena (refer to Review #914), but not a fan of either due to distance & parking limitations. I stopped by to check out this new South Bay location that's located in the Rolling Hills Plaza off Crenshaw Blvd., just south of Airport Dr. The shop itself is small, & doesn't offer any seats so you're either taking it home or eating on the go. The location isn't ideal & lacks "accidental" foot traffic, so you have to be intentional to visit this place. It was quiet for a Friday evening, I stopped by with my 10 YO right after fencing & wanted to give him a treat for his hard work & to cool him off. We were warmed greeted by the server, who inquired if we were 1st timers (definitely not); I shared with her my meeting with Adrienne via Yelp. Then we quickly dived in to sample a variety of flavors before deciding on a pint. We tried: Black Sesame HK Toast, Crema Catalana, Japanese Neapolitan, Pandan Tres Leches, Shining Hour (limited edition flavor in collaboration with K-pop group Seventeen), & Sweet Verde Heat (delicious with a big spicy kick at the end). I definitely wanted a pint of the Japanese Neapolitan, & also wanted the Shining Hour & Pandan Tres Leches, but didn't want 3 pints, so I inquired if I could do 1/2 + 1/2. The supervisor said no, but they're running a special promo: buy 2 pints (Shining Hour or Lolo Coffee Mangosteen) & get 1 free seasonal pint. Our family doesn't care for coffee so I did a double order of Shining Hour, & got the Crema Catalana for free. I tried the Shining Hour at home, & it was way icier & clumpier than at the shop. Its describe as a milky grape ramune hwachae, which is a traditional Korean fruit punch, thus the K-pop tie-in. You can definitely taste ramune soda but without the fizz. I didn't taste any jellies in the store sample, & my pint's jellies were hard, not the soft, chewy texture that you would expect from a jelly. It definitely does not have the texture of some of the trending IG posts when this flavor was launched last month. I tried both & I'm having buyer's remorse since I purchased 2 pints for a freebie. ＼(｀0´)／ Their saving grace was Crema Catalana; yummy rich custard with touches of cinnamon & citrusy orange zest & a vanilla burnt sugar finish. Prices: Single $7.50 Trio $8.75 Double $10.50 Pint $13.00 Price points are high for the serving size, & almost worth it for their creativity & quality. I didn't see any toppings so I'm not sure if this is still available, though their rewards program has a 15-point redemption for a free topping. Friendly & superb service, though I wish they would be a little more flexible with a 1/2 + 1/2 pint since they no longer surcharge for a split single, so how is that different for a split pint other buying more ice cream? FYI, Bruster's down the road allows a split bucket. I feel this flexibility would like entice customers to purchase more because they have more options. I lack freezer space, & only purchased 3 pints because of their promo. I'll definitely visit again for the Japanese Neapolitan (signature trio: matcha, sakura (Japanese cherry blossom), Hokkaido milk ice creams) & Pandan Tres Leches (house made pandan sponge cake crumbs, condensed milk ribbons). My friends and I came here on a Saturday night and it surprisingly wasn't too crowded! Immediately when you walk in, you can smell the fresh cones! I got the Japanese Neapolitan, which was a mix of matcha, Hokkaido milk & hojicha. I thought it was really good. However, I thought the Matcha was too overpowering. For my ice cream, it was good, but I was expecting to have a mix of all three flavors a bit more. I think the scoop that I got just had more of the Matcha than the other flavors. I was so excited to try Wanderlust new location in Torrance! This is my favorite ice cream! We even had them cater at our wedding in 2024! This location is in the Rolling Hills complex! So many other stores in the shared complex. It was easy for us to find parking in front. The workers did not make us feel rushed when we wanted to taste test flavors. It was absolutely delicious! So happy this is in the South Bay! read more

Wanderlust creamery is a new icecream shop with a lot of unique flavors! I ordered a Japanese Neapolitan- it comes with matcha, hojicha, & Hokkaido milk. I couldn't taste any hojicha flavor & the matcha was quite weak. I sampled a couple other things here and was a bit disappointed. I originally came for the mango sticky rice flavor but they were sold out so I'm curious how that is! read more

So excited that Wanderlust has opened up in the South Bay! My friend and I attended one of the grand opening events and had the chance to taste a variety of their ice creams. They had so many unique flavors, and that made it so hard to choose one or two. The employees were really friendly and very patient with us as we tried a few flavors of interest. My favorite was the Ube Malted ice cream. The crunch was a good addition to the creamy ube ice cream. The store front is well lit. It's not very big and has no customer seating. There's mainly space to order ice cream and pay. We will definitely be back to try more of the other flavors and the seasonal ones. read more

TL;DR - christmas cookies + sea salt cream was my favorite. Sticky rice + mango is the most unique (imagine mango sticky rice and vanilla ice cream mixed together). Ube malted crunch is really good if you like ube! I heard great things about this place. We decided to drop by after dinner during a work week. There were only 2 groups of customers ahead of us which was perfect. It gave me the time to stare at all of the flavors and wonder what was in them LOL. We sampled about 4 different flavors and wish we tried even more. They were all delicious! We ended up with a Trio ($8.75): sticky rice + mango, ube malted crunch, and christmas cookies + sea salt cream. They were all uniquely delicious. My favorite was the christmas cookies + sea salt cream. If you like the sweet crunch of small broken cookies in your ice cream layered with a light sea salt taste that sets in a few seconds later, then give this a shot. It was the first one of the three that I finished. The sticky rice + mango was the most unique. I found it very hard to imagine mango sticky rice--an item I frequently enjoy at Thai restaurants--as an ice cream. It was one of their popular ones and it worked! Just imagine.... mango sticky rice ferociously stirred and mixed into vanilla ice cream. The ube malted crunch is another one I'd consider getting too. Try it if you're an ube lover. It has a nice little crunch if you take large enough bites! Definitely coming back read more

I am SO excited that there is a Wanderlust in Torrance! I don't have to go to LA anymore I am obsessed with their ube malted crunch, but was excited to try the holiday flavors. I got the Santo chocolate and it reminded me of an Andes chocolate! Single scoops are $7.50, so it is worth to get a triple sampler at $8.75! It was so good. I will be back read more

Wanderlust Creamery never disappoints, and this visit was the perfect excuse to finally use a Wanderlust deal before it expired on the InKind app. Stopped by on a Friday evening and waited about 10 minutes, which felt totally reasonable given there was only one person working at the time. Honestly, the slower pace just gave us more time to read through the menu and debate flavors -- not a bad problem to have. Parking: Super easy. It's located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking, near Sephora and Whole Foods, so you can easily make this a dessert stop after errands. Vibe / Interior: Small, colorful, and cute -- very on-brand with other Wanderlust locations. It has that clean, modern look that keeps the focus on the ice cream itself. Good to know: This is very much a grab-and-go spot. There are no tables, seats, or restrooms, so plan accordingly. Lots of families came through while we were there, and most people enjoyed their scoops right outside or in their cars. There's a large board clearly listing signature flavors and rotating seasonal options, which is helpful since Wanderlust is known for constantly changing flavors inspired by global destinations. Order: My forever favorite is the Ube Malted Crunch -- it's not overly sweet, and the crunchy malt balls add such a satisfying texture. It's also one of their most viral flavors for a reason. We shared a single scoop and still couldn't resist taking home two pints, because if you know, you know. Service: Unlimited samples is always a win, especially since flavors rotate seasonally. The staff was incredibly sweet and patient, apologized for the wait, and made sure everyone felt taken care of despite the small team. Overall: Wanderlust continues to stand out for its globally inspired flavors, quality ingredients, and consistently solid execution. Today and tomorrow, Wanderlust offers free scoop of ice cream. First 30 people from each day gets merch like hat, hoodie, bucket hat. I came 45 min before opening and there's already a line. It took me two hours to get ice cream. I ordered the ube, vietnamese rocky road, and milk tea (contains alcohol) . It was one free scoop but I paid the difference for having three scoops ($1.25). It was good but each scoop ball is tiny. I need to come back to see if their scoops are always tiny. read more
I've always loved this place and so glad they finally came out west to Torrance. They very quietly had their soft opening a couple of weeks ago and few locals found out by seeing the signage. I love how diverse they are with their flavors from the world over. I got the Christmas Tree Cookie flavor and it tasted just like a Christmas cookie! Creamy and a little chunky, but oh so good. No seating inside and at the time of my visit with a pretty good selection of flavors. I was caught between the black sesame and Christmas Cookie. Wasn't busy at all inside so I got all the service attention I wanted. Ambience is modern and to-go only. I'll have to visit again for other flavors, but I'm quite sure I won't be disappointed as I have visited their other OC locations before. Can't wait to see what flavors pop up next. So glad to finally visit the Wanderlust Creamery in Torrance! I've been to locations across LA and love their East Asian-inspired flavors. This time I went with their pandan tres leches (very savory, lightly sweet and strong condensed milk flavor) and the Ispahan (one of my favorites - strong and sweet lychee flavor with bits of dried raspberry). You really can't go wrong with any of their flavors, and they let you sample them all! It is a bit pricy but the unique flavors make it worthwhile. read more

YESSS!! Wanderlust in South Bay, finally!! I have been a fan of Wanderlust since before we moved to LA and I'm just over the moon thrilled that they finally opened a shop in Torrance. Finally, I can have my Wanderlust fix in between errands or as a treat after the movies. So so happy! read more

Does anyone have the direct location to the Rolling Hills location? I tried calling the number & no options for Torrance/Rolling Hills location.
If start from Sephora and walk along the Crenshaw side of the plaza towards Stonefire Grill, then it's at the very end before you Rubios.
