This ice cream is incredibly smooth, creamy, and perfectly sweet. The fish-shaped pastry (bungeoppang) was a highlight--it was crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and paired perfectly with the ice cream. There's plenty of free parking available, and the shopping center has lots of other stores and attractions to explore, making it a fun place to visit. Ordered the Seventeen special that included honeydew soft serve, topped with taiyaki and decorative sugar that matches Seventeen's theme colors, pink and blue. They even gave us the option of swirling the honeydew with ube soft serve, so my sister ordered that one. And we both chose custard filling for the taiyaki. Whenever we come to this mall my family always has to get Somisomi especially after the one at the Cerritos mall closed down they always crave it. The line here is usually never to bad and even when its long it seems like they are always prepping the fish so it goes by super fast. We have tried all out flavors but the go to usually the Matcha or the Ube. yo can even get them swirled which gets you the best of both flavors. You can also get the fish filled with a few different flavors. When they are done filling your fish and the ice cream is served you can choose your toppings. Sprinkles is usually the go to. If you are in the mall and want a sweet treat this is the place to go. It beats going to the Korea Town location that usually has a ridiculously long line. read more

Went after my dreadful shift and was looking forward to a sweet treat here. First time so I asked what was the most popular and I was told it was the cookies and cream ice cream with the Nutella filled fish on top. I wanted to get the best experience so perused this choice, and I'm not disappointed at all. Seems like very good quality soft-serve...doesn't melt right away and it's not icy, more creamy. They also offer "sips" (drinks) like strawberry milk and cold brew coffee. I was interested in the strawberry milk and asked a staff member about it. Unfortunately he said that he "never tried it". It would be nice for staff to be a little more knowledgeable about the products that they are selling (free marketing!) or ask a co-worker. This SomiSomi location is located at the food court inside the Del Amo Fashion Center mall near Genghis Khan and MiniSo. There are 3 different options you can choose from. First is ahboong, which is soft-served ice cream with a fish waffle cone. Second is soft serve in a cup. Third is upside down ahboong, which is soft serve in a cup with a fish waffle cone on top. Once you choose from the rotating flavors, you can choose your filling. The filling options are nutella, custard, taro and red bean. Lastly, are the toppings. The great thing about SomiSomi is toppings are unlimited. The topping options that you can choose from are oreo, fruity pebbles, captain crunch, cocoa pebbles and graham crackers. SomiSomi is amazing!! I love all of their stores and recently visited this Del Amo location. I ordered the cookie butter and the cookies and cream swirl which was great and the fruity pebbles topping added a fun pop of color and flavor. In addition to their amazing ice cream, SomiSomi also serves delicious taiyaki. The taiyaki was warm and perfectly cooked, and the combination of the ice cream and taiyaki was heavenly. The only downside to this particular location was that it was in a mall, which isn't ideal. It's also a cart in the mall, but, the quality of the desserts more than made up for the less than ideal location. Overall, I highly recommend SomiSomi for their delicious ice cream and taiyaki. Ive seen SomiSomi in Ktown and wanted to try it. The tayaki smelled so good! We were walking around at the mall and decided to stop by their small kiosk here by the food court. Most of the customers we saw were young middle school girls. Too funny! Anywho, they were out of a lot of flavors. Regardless, this kiosk doesn't offer as much as their other locations. We settled for a swirled ice cream of strawberry and Oreo. The toppings were actually free! My sister chose fruity pebbles and macarons. With the tayaki on top, it looked liked such a unique dessert. They do make the tayaki fresh here, but the other locations make them fresh to order. So you end up smelling the waffle and it tastes a lot fresher and softer. It's a delicious pick me up in the afternoon. It's not all that cheap but it's definitely worth it! We didn't wait long for it to be ready, so that's a definite plus. read more

I couldnt really taste the strong ube flavor, which is why i got the taro filling. It was a good mix though! The disappointment was the breaded fish. Other locations make the bread fresh and you can feel the heat from it coming out, BUT my bread was completely cold. It wasn't toasted or heated at all. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile now and am so glad I did! My fiancé got the upside down ahboong with ube soft serve and we loved the flavor of the ube. I got two taiyaki, one with taro filling and one with red bean. I was pleasantly surprised that the texture was more like mochi as I am used to the Taiwanese version of it tasting like a soft Belgian waffle.
