What can I say about this place except that it's absolutely delicious. I had the Mr. Universal and the yellow peach. The Mr. Universal was delicious. The caramel and oatmeal combination is bursting with flavor and I can see why it's their most popular flavor. But... the yellow peach.... Just wow. Definitely love the creamy peachy flavor. It was so good I actually ended up getting the pint as well. Definitely a delicious way to get your ice cream!
All these years I've been coming here, I'm surprised I haven't done a review! My family loves Kansha. Literally can't go wrong with any of their flavors but my go to is the Mr. Universal with red bean and mochi *chef's kiss*!! They sell scoops and pints but no taste testing. Again, can't go wrong with their flavors. Matcha is good as well as their homely pokey and malted cookies and cream. Their flavors change but they have their staples, just have to check their website for the flavors of the week. It's a small creamery with bar seat and a couple low table seating. Owners are super friendly and parking shouldn't be an issue. Price is pretty reasonable as well.

Such a cute little shop for freshly made ice cream. Been eyeing this place since it's closed by work and finally got to try them out. Love that they rotate their flavors and that their ice cream is freshly made. Definitely check them out when you're in Torrance. Staff was friendly and courteous while their service was fast. Line can get long but since their staffs hustle, wait time is not overly dramatic. You can also buy their ice cream in pints for to-gos. It is small inside with linited seatings and parking can be tight, it is a small complex shared with other businesses so definitely cannot accommodate too many occupants all at once, so plan accordingly! After a decade since my last review, Kansha Creamery is still one of my favorite ice cream shops in Southern California. Here are few key points: * Each year, the shop closes for the entire month of January for its annual winter break and the shop also occasionally closes on random dates, so check their Instagram page to make sure the shop is open on the day of your visit. * No samples! * $0.75 of every ice cream sold is donated to Community Loving (mutual aid organization that serves unhoused & low-income families & youth in the South Bay with the essential resources they need & deserve). * Each year, Kansha Creamery hosts a kids' flavor contest and turns those flavors into reality & ultimately features on Kansha's menu. * Their ice cream is made with Straus Family Creamery products. * Their pints are made without the use of gums or preservatives which causes them to freeze harder than store-bought ice cream, so place those pints in the fridge for 10-30 minutes before indulging. * Some flavors like black sesame are seasonal, but popular flavors like Mr. Universal and Matcha (both excellent) are available year-round. Two big thumbs up for their ice cream.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I'm so glad that I did! There was a line out of the door when we came, but it does move by quick. I got the pistachio ice cream with mochi balls and red beans, which were not too sweet at all. The pistachio ice cream was really fresh and natural. It's not like the artificial pistachio flavor and it had whole pistachios in there for crunch. Loved it.

Gardena has so many great food and dessert spots that a lot of people tend to over look. Kansha is an amazing Japanese ice cream shop that has all natural ice cream. Their Aoi Matcha and Early Grey ice cream are my favorite scoops to get. They always have rotating flavors to keep things exciting!
Dessert-(lavender and ube) complimentary flavors with reserved sweetness that is just the right amount of pzazz and addictiveness that keeps drawing you back for more. The waffle cones does a greatt balance of crunch and creaminess that lures your tongue back for more. Gone faster than I like, but will keep me coming back for more. Cleanliness- well maintained Seating limited to a few seats Restroom - none that im aware of. Parking decent, but can be crowded at peak hours. Ambiance - simple and to the point ( nice painting)
I really had high hopes for this place. Heard great things about it from family. Read that they have Asian inspired ice cream flavors and toppings. Saw a line out the door when I recently visited the establishment. I really thought this was going to be an easy five star review. The folks who work here were incredibly efficient and didn't provide samples (this is actually a good thing since it holds up the line). The line moved faster than a checkout register at Trader Joe's. But then I tasted their Matcha Parfait (which in concept should have tasted amazing) and my heart sank. There wasn't anything particularly great about it except the vanilla ice cream at the very bottom of the cup. The matcha ice cream, mochi balls, and red bean topping were okay. The corn flakes added a distinctive crunch and different texture to the parfait, but I could have done without them. The wife had the Hokey Pokey which is supposed to be honeycomb and toffee flavored. She tossed it after taking a few bites noting that it tasted neither like honeycomb or toffee. Tasted like coffee to her, which she dislikes. This is a very popular shop so maybe it's just a matter of personal preference. For me, it just didn't hit the spot.
Kansha Creamery is open during work hours for me, so I don't have many opportunities to try it, but was able to do so this past week, due to the long weekend! The employees are always so kind and friendly. The interior is very homey vibes with table and bar seating to quickly enjoy your scoops! I've always been a fan of their Matcha ice cream, and opted to try the Strawberry Milk this time, which paired very well with the earthiness of the matcha. Ice cream texture is very creamy and chewy, which I appreciate in a scooped ice cream! Can't wait til the next time I can get another scoop!
Just learned about this delicious ice cream spot in the SouthBay. I'm mad I didn't know about it earlier. I tried the Matcha and Mr Universe flavors and it was the best! The kiddos had the chocolate chip and cookies and cream. They loved it! We will for sure be back. Service was great and loved that they had board games available to play while we ate ice cream. We will for sure be back!
Went for an after lunch dessert - wasn't too busy at the time thankfully, it can get that way. Had a scoop of the ooey gooey greatness - wasn't too busy pretty good with giant chocolate chips if you're into texture. Grabbed a pint of Mr. universal as well - ate a bit of that when I got home - that flavor is always a good time with a good texture as well. Would def recommend!
This is a must-stop ice cream shop. I'm not in this area often, but whenever I am, I make it a mission to grab a scoop of the famous Mr. Universe ice cream. 10/10. It's so good that I have to resist taking home a pint because I know I'd finish the whole thing. The service is always fast, and everyone working here is incredibly friendly. The shop is on the smaller side, but it has a great vibe. You'll see lots of families hanging out and enjoying ice cream together, which makes it feel really welcoming. If you're in the area, don't skip this place. It's absolutely worth the stop. read more
Nice small ice cream shop that I tried for some dessert on the way to LAX. The owner said the flavors change each week, so I got the malted cookies and cream and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The malted flavor makes the taste a bit more nutty and does complement the flavor. Only minus one star because they don't let you try some of the flavors beforehand and their flavors are unique... so it is a hit or miss on whether you'll like it. At almost $5 a scoop, it is on the pricier side. read more

Kansha is so widely talked about by several friends and family and I can see why. It already had several people despite us getting there just a minute after opening. Line moves fast, though. Mr. Universe: 10/10. Omggg soooooo good. This is one of the best flavors I've ever had anywhere. Malted cookies n cream: 9.5/10. So close to being the best flavor but definitely the second best. Hokey pokey: 8/10. Really solid flavor but still really good. Parfait: 7/10. I had high hopes but was a bit disappointed. The matcha ice cream was good, but by the time I got to the vanilla at the bottom, it was all melted. The rice balls were really good though I normally don't care for rice balls. There was matcha jelly but there were maybe only four pieces but I would have liked more. The whipped cream did nothing to add to the parfait - it's just a basic whipped cream out of a can from what I can tell. The red bean is too sweet. I would have loved to try peach but didn't since I wanted to try all these first. No samples, FYI. You can get it in a cup or cone, but cones are an extra charge. Parking is in a small lot with lots of other great places. Note that they're closed Sundays. read more

We were in the mood for some ice cream after having some ramen and saw this place across the shopping center. We tried about four different ice cream flavors and they were all really good! The vanilla was super good, kids loved the cookie ice cream and the chocolate one. We also got their new matcha parfait with cereal, red sweet beans and mochi, it was amazingly good! Place was packed on a rainy day. That should tell you something. Service is fast and hassle free. We'll be coming back. read more
Matcha Parfait from top to bottom: Whipped cream Red Bean Paste Matcha Ice Cream Corn Flakes Shiratama (mochi balls) Matcha Jelly Vanilla Ice Cream While in the South Bay and on a whim, my tummy radar detected Kansha Creamery was open and I was close so I had to stop by. I noticed Kansha hours were a bit more expansive than years prior and a perfect time to visit. I loved the matcha parfait from Yamari located not too far away that uses a soft serve version, so I wanted to compare. This is a Japanese version of halo halo but without the intent of mixing all the ingredients. I enjoyed this tasty dessert that had good contrasting textures. Great mix of flavors but do prefer to a more intense matcha flavor with the ice cream. Matcha flavor was a bit mild. The matcha jelly was a bit bland and could also use a slight sweetness. Overall, pretty good and worth a try. read more
Haven't been to Kansha Creamery in years! I love their ice cream! Even all of their ice cream flavors are homemade. My friends and I ordered their Oatmeal Cookies Caramel Ice cream, A01 Matcha Icecream with red bean and Mochi, and Peppermint Cookie Dough We all really liked the Ice cream. The peppermint cookie dough had so many pieces of cookie dough and Oatmeal cookies Caramel had so many pieces of oatmeal cookies. They even homemade the Oatmeal Cookies I would highly recommend it. It tastes like a milk and cookies ice cream. I haven't had the chance to try the A10 Matcha Ice cream but I really want to try that one next I heard that one is good! And my friends really like the matcha. Their ice cream cones are really good too! Service: The staff is so friendly and was helpful with my order Note: depending what time you go there may be a line. I went on a weekday and line was short. -Also they are closed for the winter break and will be opened in February -They have a few chairs and tables inside. They don't have outdoor seating. Very creamy just like the name of the store. Only 7 different flavors on the day but I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. I have dark chocolate, Mr universe (caramel/oat meal cookies) and Hokey Pokey (honeycomb toffee). Simply delicious. read more
It's good ice cream!!! Key word is ice cream though because there's definitely better/stronger matcha soft serve elsewhere but sometimes you don't want soft serve and want ice cream or want other flavor options with your matcha ... so this is the place for you! NO SAMPLES !!!! THERE'S A SIGN POSTED !!! I wish they did though but since it's my first time visiting I played it safe with flavors I figured I'd like. The ice cream is smooth, creamy, not too heavy, not too sweet. The vanilla was good but next time I'd get another flavor. The matcha was very mild and wasn't strong at all, but it's enough to be like yep, that's matcha flavor. Service was super quick. There's one person taking your order and another person scooping the moment the flavor you order leaves your mouth. By the time you finish paying, ice cream is already scooped with spoons stuck in ready for you. I have to try the other flavors next time. The ones I picked were good but nothing really special. The other ones definitely seem to be more popular. Will be back if I'm in the area + easy parking in a shared plaza lot. read more
Always hear great things about Kansha and finally decided to stop by with my wife and so glad we did! I am not a huge fan of the parfait but my wife enjoyed it very much! My choice was a single scoop of the Mr. Universal and WOW, this flavor was amazing! I can literally eat this everyday! Can't wait to try the other flavors as well visit Torrance! The ambiance is cozy, an intimate sized store and they have some card games/board games available. Service was great, straight to the point and served in a timely manner! Not all ice cream is made equal. There are superior ice cream places in LA and then there are subpar ones. This is a superior one. I'd rank it up there with kinrose creamery or Sorry Not Sorry. It wasn't perfect; my mango oolong scoop had a few ice chunks in it; but it is forgiven for the superior creaminess, taste, not too sweetness, and flavor profile capture of each scoop we tried. Black metal, mango oolong, and malted cookies and cream - out of the ones we tried these flavors were peak. Also, getting a red bean and mochi topping to go with any flavor is always peak. Parking is easy most of the time, and the interior has just enough seating for an ice cream store. Service is also 10/10 - the lady was sweet and so efficient. I have never seen a single woman run shop before and the way she handled a constant flow of customers all by herself was very impressive. And she did while beaming. Good for her. I'll be coming back for pints. read more
Come to Kansha Creamery for a delicious ice cream treat, but if you do, be aware that they are not open on Sundays and Wednesdays, and they close at 6pm. The other thing to be aware of, is their No Sampling rule. It is posted. So don't ask. They have interesting flavors that are always changing, some with an Asian influence. I also noticed a sign posted that mentioned their lack of any gums or preservatives in their ice creams. I enjoyed their Hokey Pokey (honeycomb toffee) and Houjicha Kinako. The kid liked their Mr. Universe (caramel and oatmeal cookies). My hostess keeps waiting for the return of their Black Sesame. There's seating, and games. We played a game of JENGA as we enjoyed our treats. read more

Ice cream is always good! So many flavors I love, but Mont Blanc parfait during the fall/winter is a must have. Love their seasonal Lemon tart and hojicha chocolate. Mr. universal is a must try also. I don't even like oatmeal cookies and I LOVE this ice cream. read more
Kansha has been one of the places I've been wanting to check out for a while. The shop was a lot smaller than I thought but I did like the ambiance and the staff. They have limited asian inspired flavors, and from what I hear, they rotate out the flavors. I got the matcha, malted cookies & cream and the honeycomb toffee. I thought the flavors were not as apparent, the malted cookies & cream was the best out of the three. The cold brew was actually quite good as well, but I wished they used better plastic cups because the lid was flimsy and was dripping everywhere. read more
Kansha creamery, you are perfect. I shared 6 scoops with 2 friends and each were delightful. Not too sweet but perfectly captured the essence of each flavor!! I had the hojicha, matcha, yellow peach, vanilla, black sesame, and malted cookies and crème. They were all creamy and tasted so natural. My friends and I were deep in conversation but still taking nonstop scoops and bites into our mouths. So good we had to take a hojicha pint to go. A 3-scoop was $8 and a pint was $11. Wow this place is incredible! I had their premium matcha ice cream with red bean and mochi balls. It was creamy, rich and well worth the price. If I lived nearby, I'd get in trouble buying a weekly pint. I'm looking forward to trying their matcha parfait and other flavors next time! The only downside is that they close somewhat early so I have to rush over after work. read more

My first time going to Kansha Creamery and it did not disappoint. Immediately walking in there was a smell I couldn't place, but it smelled yummy and I knew I had to buy something. I know that they have seasonal and rotating flavors so I had no idea what to expect. My brother ordered the mugicha (barley tea) and I got Mr. Universal in a cup. The worker helping us was soft spoken and patient while my brother and I decided what to order. The mugicha was so good! It had a rich deep flavor and I was definitely impressed. The Mr. Universal was just as good. It had small to large crunchy bits in it that added the perfect oomph to the ice cream. The scoops were also the perfect size, not small and filled up the cup nicely. I would absolutely come here again. read more

The staff was super helpful and friendly, happy to explain flavors and offer recommendations. The shop itself is cute and inviting, making it a great spot to hang out and enjoy your treat. Wow!! What a gem. The have a limited menu that rotates and they do not offer samples. I had the premium matcha and honey pokey and it was good. I also had the Mr. Universal caramel & oatmeal cookies with malted cookies & cream and this was a good combo together. Overall, I like it here. Too bad it's so far from me. read more

Been eyeing this place for a while but finally got to try it. I definitely enjoyed the rich and creaminess of the ice cream. Decent flavor and not particularly over powering. Will definitely be back to try their other flavors! Love the small business vibe of the owners that want to support local farmers and charities! The inside has some seating along the right side of the entrance. Near the checkout counter they have the ice cream selection. I think the flavors are on a rotating basis. You can check online if you wanna know if they have the flavor you wanna try! They don't offer samples so you gotta take the plunge when you choose your flavor . Service was friendly. It wasn't super busy when we arrived on the weekday. There wasn't any issues with finding parking but the lot is on the smaller side as this plaza has many food places next door. read more
UPDATE 4/17: Came again!! Wanted to shout out the gentleman working in the snazzy bow tie and glasses. He was so kind and polite to every single customer, including us ice cream 10/10 as always UPDATE: we came back tonight right before they closed - hubby has been talking about coming back EVERY SINGLE DAY since we last came (no exaggeration) I got the matcha parfait again and hubby got the honey toffee and cookies and cream. 10/10!!! The owner (woman) is very warm and friendly. We were the last customers to leave. I wanted to tell her but I felt bad since we came right before closing -- but Please don't everrrr take the matcha parfait off the menu!!! I don't know what I would do without it Hubby and I have passed this place so many times over the years on the way to Tokyo Central. Finally tried it today and it didn't disappoint. Line was to the door when we came in, good sign! But the lady working (possibly owner?) was quick! Only waited a few minutes. Also noted that many customers that came in were regulars from the dialogue between the owner and them. I was torn between the matcha parfait and the regular scoops. I ended up settling for the matcha parfait for $12 after much deliberation. And my husband got two scoops for $7 - malted cookies and cream and Mr. Universal caramel & oatmeal cookies. The matcha parfait was PERFECT! Vanilla at the bottom, two mochis, matcha jelly, cornflakes, matcha ice cream, red bean, and whipped cream. I was never a huge fan of red bean but decided to leave it so I can try as is. I'm so happy I did because it was delicious. Mochi was nice and soft but firm. Matcha jelly was smooth. Cornflakes added a great crunch. The vanilla ice cream paired well with the matcha ice cream as well. A lot of matcha ice creams taste too strong but this one was perfect. Would definitely get again!! 10/10! The malted cookies and cream was the BEST cookies and cream ice cream I've ever had. And I'm not exaggerating. You can taste the quality!! 10/10! I'm mad we haven't tried this spot after all these years but happy we finally did and we will definitely be back regularly! New favorite ice cream place! read more

The ice cream itself was not too sweet and had a nice flavor for both the green tea and strawberry cheesecake ones. Would I return to have seconds? Most likely not. For $7 + tip for two scoops of mediocre freezer burnt ice cream, I would rather get sweets from elsewhere. The store was moderately busy during my visit on a Saturday late afternoon. I couldn't find parking because the entire shopping center was bustling. I was surprised because it was too late for lunch but too early for dinner type of hours. Small shop serving up delicious ice cream and parfaits! Everyone seems to enjoy their matcha and Mr. Universal flavors. I really liked their houjicha kinako, a balanced flavor and light aroma. Would be delicious with toppings too. Unfortunate to see this was their last batch. You can also buy a pint of their ice cream for $11. read more
Absolutely love it. Super creamy not too sweet. I got their pistachio ice cream. My friend got 2 scoops, 1 pistachio and another chocolate. She said the chocolate ice cream tastes better than their pistachio ice cream. I'll have to try the chocolate ice cream next time. read more

This place is a strictly Ice-creamer so there are no gluten except those with cookies or something like that, they usually carry less than 10 different flavors but so original and not too heavy or too sweet. Try their Matcha flavored it's so close…
Is the mont blanc no longer available?
Yes, I believe it's seasonal, and it ended in January. It will probably come back once winter starts.
