Finally was able to afford some hiking shoes here. Most shoes here are over $100, so we had to save to buy some shoes here. Well the day finally came, and they had limited of my size but thankfully they had a pair that I not only liked the colors of, but where insanely comfortable. They do have a free rewards program and if you buy non sale items that are over $100 you get a rebate. I know most of the time I'll probably buy items on sale, but that rewards program did cone in handy today. My husband did say he wants to grab some items in the future for camping, possibly a tent and some bags. They have lots of options, and I like that they had an area to test your shoes on rock like terrain. The employees are always friendly and helpful. We needed a decent amount of help during our visit and I'm grateful we got some help in guiding us to get the right shoes for me. Thanks Wonderlust, we shall be back. read more

We stop in this store every visit to St. Joe. High end adventure gear, clothing, and footwear. My husband and I absolutely love it. Prices are NOT low, but one should expect that from brands like North Face, Patagonia, and Kuhl. I have, however, compared their prices to other retailers of the same brands, and they are in line. Customer service here is great, and the selection is really nice. The store is set up well, and has an ambience that makes even my husband want to go shopping ( he usually suggests going there before I have a chance to!). For St. Joe locals that want to stay warm in Michigan's brutal winters, this store is a must. read more

I purchased a pair of shoes from the store also a couple of pairs of socks. I'm glad I purchased locally to support our towns merchants. They were in the same price range as online shopping at Amazon so that too was a great plus. Great selection to choose from! They carry brands including Marmot, Fjall Raven and Kuhl but the list goes on! Staff was very friendly and helpful. While a majority of the store is clothing, shoes and accessories there is a room in the back right filled with options for sleeping bags, backpacks, water bottles, etc. Just about every piece we looked at throughout the store had a 25% off sticker on it as well. Restrooms were in good condition and there's some really cool artwork on your way in. Will definitely be back anytime we're in St. Joe! read more

Good selection but staff is not helpful. Rude and lazy...I know crazy in St Joe lol. Needed help with an online order and they said no. Had to sit there and do it all over again for 20 minutes while they did nothing. They they said it would be ready in 15-20 (magically had someone to go get it) and it took well over an hour. read more

The sales people at Wanderlust are very knowledgeable. They sell quality backpacking and hiking products, but their prices are competitive with Amazon, and you get to try things out and try them on. Automatic discounts are given for purchases over $100(5%) and $200(10%). I will be back to this store in the future. read more

The experience at Wanderlust Outfitters takes some getting use to, there is beautifully displayed high performance clothing and shoes, there prices are comparable to any specialty shop, they have a pricing policy to keep them competitive. (think Eddie Bauer, Land end etc.) What is difficult to take is ...... OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE....., it is difficult to adjust to having experienced help who are helping you to make a purchase that you will love, as well as training all of their staff what customer service is. I know I have experienced the staff who are there to get a pay check or who were given the 30 minute training session on customer service. So often that I have been guilty of just going to the internet. Stop and give shopping another try. So...if you need anything for your vacation here in St Joseph, MI to enjoy our beaches, hiking, biking paths or kayaking along the St Joseph River wander into this bygone shop and learn to relax and enjoy shopping you will be thrilled with the service and your purchase. read more

I stumbled upon this store on the weekend of its grand opening in September 2016. I was looking for a small backpack, and the staff there helped me find the right one and with the right fit. I enjoyed the customer service and the friendly atmosphere. They are not the largest outfitting store you will find, but they seem to have just what you need. I great place to go if you are into backpacking, which is what my primary outdoor activity is. read more

I've been in here a couple times browsing around. Staff very friendly and courteous even tho I'm pretty sure they knew I was buying anything the first trip. They answered all my questions to the best of their ability. Went back today to purchase all new gear for backpacking. Again, they all were very friendly and courteous even tho they had a full house due to the vendors being there. This place even puts on events and classes.
