1st off this is not a Mexican restaurant not sure why Yelp has it listed as such? Its Americana, and finally under new ownership!! Which is why Im taking the time to give this review. I was there there during an annual ice fishing contest in Feb. so the place was packed. First thing I noticed was that they actually had someone at the door seating folks. The staff was very attentive and we did not have to wait long for drinks or food. I had the cowboy burger Med rare and it was cooked perfectly, super juicy, flavorful, and the bun didn't get soggy. I was impressed because of how busy it was and all of our food was great. So glad the previous owners are gone, they were lazy bums that ran that ran into the dirt! The new owners have made improvements to the menu and I look forward to all the other changes they have in store. read more

We really enjoy ourselves at Wapogasset Waterside Bar. The server we have had both times has been fantastic- stops by to check on us often., the patio atmosphere on the water is fabulous, and the food has been solid. Try the Friday Fish Fry. NO N NO! New owners were ambitious at first, then DOWNHILL after a few months. Very inconsistent on the way the food comes out of the kitchen. They never have regular hours of operation and seem to open when they feel like it. Very unfriendly. Views are great, but that's the only thing good abut this place. read more

The food is dependably good. I have eaten here many times and try to have different things and have always been happy. The owner makes her way out to say hi, super friendly, if she is there. We were there during a packer game recently and they give out jello shots after packer touch downs -- it was a high scoring game that day! My mom loves the deep fried shrimp, really good! The walleye fingers are usually very good but they do range in size from time to time. They have some typical things you'd expect, but it is tasty and the prices are competitive. During weekends and prime boating time, it can be tricky to find a parking spot, but worth the wait if you can figure it out. They do have nice patio seating facing the lake and docks. A lot of residents motor up and they have a fire pit out there for cool days or evenings. The place does good business, every time I've been there its' been more than half full and it's not the biggest place. Amery area doesn't have a ton of options, so when this was closed for a short time, it was a hardship! They do have limited days and hours, so make sure you check their schedule before you go. read more

We have given this restaurant so many chances hoping something will change with the quality of the food. We want to have a place to go on the lake with friends when they come to visit. We never have trouble finding space for the pontoon or finding a table because no one goes there. Our nachos came out looking like they came from a child's sporting event, the cheese was disgusting. My fish was YUCK! Five years is too long for these owners to still be in business. read more

New ownership and not so great changes. I waited to update this after the ownership change. Things I don't like since change: The walleye fingers (seem soggy), they got rid of Heggies Pizza (nothing better than ice fishing and grabbing a heggies inside or to-go), they swapped out some of the games for different ones (I get this, personal preference). Overall it's not as favorable and we kind of use the Waterside as a means of convenience when nobody wants to cook instead of a destination for drinks and fun. Too bad. read more

Used to go all the time for the fun atmosphere and view, but the new owner came in and the whole place became a little less friendly. I once asked her if there were any vegetarian options and she told me she could go and see if there was a fruit cup in the back. Unbelievably offensive. Won't be returning. read more

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! When I would visit families and business partners in Amery, I would stop in from time to time. Stopped in a couple of weeks ago and it was just awful. The food was flavorless and made one of us sick. The restaurant was dirty and the owners are rude and condescending. They seemed really annoyed we showed up. The male owner kept saying he owns all these Subway restaurants so I would think he would be better at customer service. Felt rushed to get out of there. The old owners had bon fires and would always welcome us with a smile and make us feel at home. Now, walking in to the place we feel unwanted and unliked. One a side note, a buddy of mine looked up the Subways he claimed to own and his name is no where to be found. Seems like just another arrogant liar who bullies his customers to make himself feel bigger. read more

We waited over an hour for our food and once it did come, we watched our pathetic excuse for a waitress try and serve it to a couple that had literally JUST ordered. Tried it again to give them another chance. Waited over an hour for two appetizers and was never asked or brought a refill on drinks. Very dark inside on a nice sunny day. They covered the windows with decals. Waitresses are slow, food isn't good and new owners are not doing a good job at managing and not very friendly. Very disappointed. read more

Bordered on silly... Asked for window seating and were denied as "they like to keep them open for larger groups". They have 7, 6 person tables next to the windows and about the same number of 4 person tables. Okay fair enough, but after we were seated we noticed that 6 of the 7 were vacant and asked again; there were 4 of us, and again denied. Long, long wait for our drinks. We joked that they must be distilling the liquor. We eventually placed our order and again the long wait. Received the salads about 1 minute before the entree so that was a fail. All the while we were entertained by an apparently not-too-ambitious bartender that liked to lob the empty beer bottles into a bin so that we could all enjoy the glass on glass crashing. The 6 person tables never did get used. I thought the odds of 36 people showing up all at once on a Thursday night was remote. I was right. Now I know why. i was hoping the place with new owners would be just as good, but they have failed. food is ok, service sucks. if your in a hurry do not go. went there on a crappy weather Friday night at about 8:30, a group of us from Miki Jo's were going to have dinner there. i arrived first and at 8:30 they locked the doors and were closed. said the weather was crappy and the tables are not filled up so they kicked people out and closed down for the night. had to go back to miki jo and tell the people they were closed. so we ate at miki jo's. they are always open. all summer the staff has sucked. the wife leans on the bar and wont work, maybe write down an order. but watches everyone else work. not sure why they can not keep a full staff. I wish Pam and Ray were back. or i hope they sell soon. i used to look forward to taking the boat there, but you can't get service if you go, bring your own cool either in your boat or car, then walk out to your boat and get your own refill. (it's not the price but the 15 min it takes to bring you a beer) read more
