EDIT: just found out they should have checked my vision insurance to see if i was eligible for coverage and they did NOT. So i paid full price despite not having to. I'm giving 1.5 stars instead of 1 solely because the in-store staff has always been friendly and helpful. However, Warby Parker's process and structure as well as their customer service have serious flaws that need addressing. I came in to finalize purchasing two pairs of glasses. After trying on a bunch more and completing the purchase then taking the bus home, I realized I hadn't received an order confirmation email. When I called customer service, they confirmed no order existed but somehow had no way to contact the store except by email. How is it possible customer service agents for a brick a primarily mortar store cannot contact those stores for a customer issue?!? Since I needed the glasses urgently for a trip, I paid for an Uber back to the store. The associate had failed to input my email correctly and never verified the order processed--critical errors despite her otherwise helpful service. The manager handled the situation professionally but refused (or claimed she couldn't) offer any discount to compensate for the $35 in Uber costs caused entirely by their mistake. Warby Parker needs to fix these systemic issues: stores should have authority to offer discretionary discounts when their errors cause customers financial harm, and customer service must be able to directly contact stores. I unfortunately don't remember the representative's name but the guy with blonde hair that helped me was really great and had excellent customer service skills! I appreciated his knowledge around frames, lenses, shipping, and even support around insurance reimbursement! Those extra steps he took to ensure that I understood when my glasses would come in and even helped connect me with another staff member to repair a previous pair of glasses was above and beyond. 10/10 recommend and I am excited waiting for my new sunnies & eye glasses. read more

I heard great things about Warby Parker. I was looking to purchase 2 pair of progressive glasses with transition lenses. We were the only people in the store around noon on Saturday. There were 5(?) staff members hanging around chatting with each other. I tried on around 10 pairs of glasses, about 15 minutes. Not one employee greeted us or helped us in any way. You try on the glasses you assume that it will be expertly fit to your face and not sit on your cheeks and not pinch once they are adjusted... I just got back from Warby Parkey in Hayes Valley. I had 2 older pairs of sunglasses I purchased there 4 years ago that I didn't have much hope for as they were quite dirty and the screws were not able to be tightened. However, I got amazing help from Fey P , who brought both pairs back to life including replacing the nose pads, screws and cleaning them thoroughly. Both of them basically look brand new. I've used Rory Parker glasses before, and I find that the quality is really good because the lenses actually don't stain very easily. But I walked in this time and asked the receptionist if I could order contact lenses. Unfortunately, the store doesn't have any doctor at the site that I went to, and so they asked me to bring a prescription from any other doctor. They could help us fill the orders, but I felt like that was really necessary because then I could just do it online myself. A lady working there actually mentioned that because I have a stronger prescription, I should bring my prescription from another doctor and come into the retail store if I want to buy glasses. She mentioned that sometimes online quality isn't so accurate. I gave them one last star mostly because I don't think it's really smart that they don't have a doctor on these sites, and the nearest location that she mentioned was Berlin game which is fine but for we're living in the city that's a little bit inconvenient. That being said, I think the glasses and the brand definitely hold up to their value, and I think that there were a lot of people available to help us at the store as well. read more

You do sometimes have to wait for someone to help you but they are always super efficient. Their warranty policy is amazing. My son broke his glasses and they gave him a new frame for free because they said it was a defect. He then lost those glasses in the ocean (a long story) and we got a replacement pair within 3 days in the mail. Not free but much better than being blind. Warby Parker will make you happy. I came here for new glasses and stopped in several times before deciding on a pair to buy. There's so many options it's hard to choose. Several different employees helped me each time and everyone was very nice, super knowledgeable, and really helpful with different options and opinions. Glasses are really affordable and customer service is great too. You can return within 30 days if you don't like them and can have frames delivered to try at home before purchasing. They're also easy to work with submitting to insurance and even if they're out of network it's still an easy process. Definitely a great store and recommend. read more

So this is how the cool kids do it, alrighty then. Following all COVID precautions, once entering the Warby Parker store, a sales associate takes your temperature, asks you to answer a few questions and sterilize your hands with no-touch spray sanitizer. Then, you're walked to the vast displays and, with some help from a sales associate, try on as many pairs as your heart desires. Rather than returning the glasses to the shelf, you place them in a white bin where they'll be sanitized before being returned to the display case. I like how clean and organized the process was. I ended up choosing two pairs of glasses, one with a cool indigo color lining the inside frame and the other, tortoiseshell. No fuss, they took care of getting my prescription and in two or three weeks, my new glasses will be mailed to me. With nearly 200 stores, it seems Warby Parker's pretty accessible across the country but if you're more decisive than I am or just can't spare the time, you can pick five frames to try on at home. read more

When I reached out to Warby about my issues all they could do was give me a $20 coupon to use toward another purchase. But I don't want to buy anything from them! I paid over $700 for two frames with progressive lenses. One was so uncomfortable and heavy that I could not even wear them! The other had lenses that began to yellow and crack after less than a year. Horrendous quality control. YOU ARE BETTER OFF GOING TO COSTCO! Don't bother going into this show room; it is just an exercise in frustration. I went to select and buy new glasses. There were five or six staff and only one other customer. Love both lenses I got! The staff put up with me trying on multiple lenses too many times. I love that they have narrow, medium, and wide options for most styles. I got a pair of reading lenses and they have blue light blocking technology options, which is great for work. I also got prescription lenses added for my sunglasses, with a special color as well, and you can't tell they are prescription. They shape the glasses for you in store to make sure they fit. She doesn't know that the size of the bridge has NOTHING to do with the size of width of the lens. I tell her she can leave. Me: I find a couple of pairs of glasses that look promising but I want to see how well the lenses work in the sunshine. I go up to the counter to ask if it's OK to take them up to the door to try them in the sunshine. The guy at the desk tells me everyone's busy and someone will be free in a little while. Received my glasses last week but was unhappy with how the pattern turned out, I emailed customer service and they immediately started an exchange! I keep coming back year after year because the service is exceptional online and in store. I have been to several locations New York Austin San Francisco and always received the best service. I would say the only place that leaves something to be desired in in store service is their Walnut Creek location. In 10 years I've never had my glasses break except for one time and I was able to text Warby Parker customer service and got a response so fast no waiting which is unheard of for service. it was not a robot it was a person. They let me know that the store location I would want to go to would not require an appointment and would have the tools needed to fix my glasses in the store. they also let me know that my prescription was still valid if I wanted to purchase any new glasses on my visit. I made my way to the Hayes Valley location this week. Nicole fixed my glasses quickly and sent me on my way she was very friendly. Great customer service at the store I will definitely come back here when it's time to pick out my next pair. They make buying glasses really easy and with their great service I'm always bringing my friend friend do you need glasses. When I was in New York several years ago someone stole my brand new glasses off my face and Warby Parker replaced them for me at no charge. Decided to try Warby Parker out in Hayes Valley. The store is small but cozy and welcoming. The first thing I noticed was a strong smell that made me nauseous. I think they have a plug in, or some sort of scent wafting thru the store. I decided to stay as I needed some frames. A young salesperson asked if I needed help. She was very kind and patient and made a few suggestions. Unfortunately they didn't have the frames I wanted in stock. I asked her if she could call the Burlingame location and she said, I believe so. She went up to her manager and asked, she came back and said unfortunately we can't call. I couldn't believe the lack of customer service. I don't blame the salesperson, again, she was very sweet and helpful but the manager / supervisor is another story. Today, however, the service was unhelpful and uninformed and moved rapidly from disinterested to actively rude. I bought a pair of glasses about two years ago. They were great fitting and survived my dog chewing on them. I unfortunately stepped on them not too long ago, and they were a little bent, which gave me an excuse to buy new glasses. I bought a second pair from this store and my interactions with the staff were amazing. I asked about my old bent glasses and if they could be fixed, and they said, "Of course, bring them on in." After trying on several pairs of glasses, and buying two pairs- it was actually the pair that she suggested which is now my absolute favorite pair of glasses. On a return visit, I needed a second pair I had purchased slightly adjusted, and Nic took one look at how the frame sat on my face, and fixed them perfectly! Nic is an exceptional optician, and thanks to her, my experience at Warby Parker Hayes Valley could not have been better and alleviated every single one of my concerns. I just got home from Warby Parker Hayes Valley and had to write a review about the excellent customer service I experienced. Every person who worked there was friendly, helpful, cheerful and extremely patient. There was a customer in the store who was needed some extra help understanding the process of ordering prescription glasses, and the person who helped them was so kind, and understanding. I usually hate buying glasses. It takes me ages to choose because I can't see well, and it becomes frustrating quickly. I was out of the store within an hour with all three pairs of glasses I needed, and I love them! No body tried to upsell anything. I will go back to this store again for sure. read more

I love Warby Paker but I am at my wits end. I dropped off my glasses to have new lenses put in for a new prescription. I was told a 7 to 10 Business day turn around. I found out today they just received my order and will tae another 10 business days to turn around this is utter BS. When lens crafters etc can turn things around in less than a day. I did call and they are going to get it turned around sooner and give me a small refund. That's all great and I appreciate it but the lack of communication and nowhere on the site can you look up progress. Get your shit together folks you've got great product. Wake UP!!! read more

My brother and sister suggested this place to me. Before I went, I looked through their online store and browsed through their selection of glasses. They've got a bunch of cute styles for both men/women. They had an option to try the glasses at home. I think they send you five pairs for free to try on and then you make your selection from there! I thought that was great, but since SF has their very own WP location, I decided it'd be easier to go in store and have the whole collection right in front of me! Very clean interior with a huge selection of sunglasses/glasses. They were grouped by style and most glasses were $95! $95 for frame AND prescription with no tax? I was shocked at how cheap that was in comparison to what I've been paying at Kaiser all these years. I tried tons of different frames, but I ended up choosing Louise which was more of a cat eye shape. It was a super easy process ordering it too. I just told em which one I wanted, handed them my prescription, they did some measurements, and now I just have to wait 7-10 days for them to arrive in the mail!
