When I finally realized that I needed to go to urgent care with her, a quick Google search landed me at AFC urgent care Boulder. The women up front were very kind and helpful, and my daughter was seen within 20 minutes of arrival. The doctor was professional, kind, mild mannered, and easy to talk to. We opted to give her a variety of different test to ensure she didn't have anything serious, and it turned out just fine. We have pretty mainstream insurance and I paid $60 upfront and $60 later on. This seemed reasonable due to the nature of the visit. It turns out she didn't need any medicine, but we had lots of peace of mind going to visit our family, knowing that we were gonna be a-ok.

The place was practically empty, and I got in right away. I woke up with moderate abdominal/stomach pain, enough to distract from my work, and wanted to know if I should take a laxative. Not only did they never let me see an actual doctor, the nurse refused to give a solid answer to my question about the laxative, and even though I said I felt good enough to bike home, she recommended I go to the hospital if it didn't resolve within the next few hours. It didn't. So, I went to the hospital. Immediately after arriving to an emergency room, the doctor looked me over, and said "I'm not worried at all". Immediate red flag on the previous advice I got at BMC Urgent Care. 3 hours of tests later, absolutely nothing was wrong with me. I just had really bad indigestion, brought on by the norovirus messing with my gut biome. I asked specifically if this could be the case, and the nurse refused to give me a straight answer. Now I have a $2500 medical bill -- and that's AFTER insurance. I would not have gone to the hospital if I hadn't received this bad advice. A friend of mine had a similarly bad experience. He explained what he felt his problem was, based on his medical history. His (later proven correct) suggestions were ignored, and they put him on the wrong medication to solve it. Condition worsened. One week later, a trip to a different urgent care fixed it for him. I'd give 0 stars if I could, but if I have to give one star, it's because the front desk people were excellent. You can see on my profile I almost exclusively give 5 star reviews. Trust me: don't go here.

I chose to go to Concentra for my recent Workman's Comp Case . This is my first experience with…read moreboth. I myself am a healthcare provider so I have taken care of many patients and I always say what terrible patients that we as providers make. I do know that the best decision I have ever made is choosing Concentra. Being new to this state and new to how workmans comp is handled has been difficult. I felt lost in a system that was stacked against me. I was truly blessed when they assigned me to Dr. Nystrom. From the moment he walked in the exam room I knew that he was knowledgeable, compassionate, caring and that his diagnostic abilities were impeccable. I knew my foot was broken from the fall that occurred at work and the whole process had been mishandled. The day I walked into Concentra was after I had left the Ortho. What a nightmare! The Ortho walked in the room and remember he had only seen me once. He was cheerful and began to talk about sending me to have Physical Therapy. This was without taking an x-ray or MRI. He had the nurse take the airboot off and put a little black lace up ankle support to replace the boot. I left there and went to Concentra. The bottom line is Dr. Nystrom is a God-send. This doctor knew from his evaluation and examination of my foot what the problem was. He sent me for stat MRI and confirmed that the foot was broken in 2 places and one tendon hanging on by a thread. Dr. Nystrom never rushes, he comes in and sits down and explains what he has found and answers any and all questions. He is a rare find in medicine today. I highly recommend you to seek any medical attention at Concentra and I can tell you that you will be greeted at the front desk with a huge and comforting smile. From check in to check out you are made to feel special and you will receive superior care. Thank you Lorie for getting the MRI scheduled ASAP and for making each patient feel special and like they are the most important patient of the day. I highly recommend Concentra to anyone needing good and thorough medical care.

I went in after work and was told I just had a sprain. I was shown how to use the crutches, which was incorrect. Had my crutches set up in correctly and was given a boot for a sprain. I complained about the pain and feeling unable to walk on my foot several times. The way they showed me to use crutches was to put partial pressure on my foot and walk that way. Because I complained about the pain they said they could get me in for a CT scan. 2. I went for the CT scan and 2 hours after the scan was called for an emergency Dr apt. I was told I had broken my foot. I was told to continue using the crutches and continue using the boot for a sprain. The way I had been taught to use crutches had me putting partial pressure on my foot to walk. 3. I was supposed to see the Orthopedist on Friday but because my employer failed to approve the claim they had to cancel that and the rest of my appointments. 4. I work things out with my employer over the weekend and then get my orthopedist apt on the following Tuesday, this is 6 days after my injury mind you. They did an xray to make sure the bone had not moved and it did move. I was told at that apt that I was wearing a generic boot mostly for a sprain and they immediately got me into a boot for a broken foot. The Boulder clinic is better than the Thorton clinic but I will never be going to a CONCENTRA AGAIN! Peak is way better, more friendly, cleaner and nicer facility and seem very interested is helping the patient to the best of their ability. I think if I had gone to Peak in the first place none of this would have happened.

It took a month to close the finger wound which was not a good outcome of my poor choice. This winter I had a worse but similar insult to the same finger so I did go to the ER and their efficient care of the finger allowed it to heal properly. This time we made the same choice for a smaller ct on a different finger and it has healed extremely well. From the moment I arrived, bloody hand wrapped , I was treated efficiently and politely, from register g window to assessment to treatment. Clerical staff and medical staff are well trained. On 1 visit, I actually needed an MD but the most recent used a PA who did a fine job. The various techs who were used to clean the wounds as well as remove stitches later were also efficient and accurate at task. I am lucky to have this fairly near by, though not as close as when BCH had the facility right in town. Back then it was a much shorter distance for my family, especially when transporting one of my children. But progress requires more and different space and with this facility accessible to a few highways it is better for the greater community that has moved to the suburbs of Boulder. Since I have good insurance and have used this facility in the past. They can process my emergencies quite quickly. There were other patients in line too, some with far greater injuries so appropriate that they were taken even more quickly and were served by the discs. Broken ribs from bicycle incidents have been other cases with priority both times. Such a Boulder situation so be careful out there!

From the Front Desk staff, to the RN and Doc faculty, everyone was compassionate and did their best to move things along as fast as possible. I have had the pleasure of seeing PA Mary Scott for two of our visits (once for my son, once for me), and not only did she have excellent bedside manner while being clinically thorough, she also connected with me personally in a way that is very rare for ER/UC practitioners. I felt heard, respected, and both I and my son were treated with such a refreshing kindness. My only issue? I wish we could just come here for all of our medical needs, and that Mary could be our PCP ;)

Surgery went great then I had a blood clot form in my neck where I had surgery. The response time from the nurse to the doctors to the anesthesiologist and my surgeon was so quick and I was in the best quality of care I've ever had.
