We came for the sunflower maze and it did not disappoint! Tickets are $10/pp at check-in tent and you can also pay for any of the pick-your-own items you're interested. We saw flower picking, tomatoes, beans, peaches and pears etc. Once we got our ticket and walked outside the tent there are clear signs for direction. Before going in, staff warned that there'll be bees cuz they love flowers. There were in fact a lot of bees inside but they were just minding their own business and I felt safe walking around. It was so fun exploring the maze. The sunflowers were taller than me and bigger than my hand. There are hidden photo opps around and a look out point for a view of the field. My friend saw my pictures and went the next day for PYO produce. The peaches were crisp but could be a little more ripe and the pears were the perfect sweetness. May be a fun place, but the veggies not so good. Asparagus purchased on Friday turned bad by Sunday. cukes and tomatoes started turning bad on Monday. This experience was a pleasant one. We did not go for strawberry picking because it did not pass the code (has to be organic). The children love the hay ride and the tractor. This farm as sprawled over a big piece of land which is nice. It is so refreshing to be in the fresh air, see Meadows and hills, see lots of green plants and trees. About the market, the produce looked fine but we seek organic/natural as much as possible. Non-organic food is so dangerous. The staff were friendly and efficient. read more

Amazing experience berry and peach picking at this farm. It's late July so blueberries & blackberries were peak, while raspberries were slimmer pickings but still good! You can really taste the difference with these fresh berries bursting with flavor, in contrast to the grocery store berries. There was so much to see & experience at the farm, with a spacious playground area for children, Castle Island brewery showcasing the blueberry lager for the summer using real blueberry puree, fresh flowers/plants for purchase or picking, and seasonal blueberry donuts which totally had me sold! Everyone was so nice, and just a wonderful relaxing summer ambience. Come early in the morning so it won't be too hot or crowded. The walk from the entrance to the fields is around 5-10 minutes which is very doable without needing to do the tractor ride. read more

This place is much bigger than it looks on the outside. They have more than one room/tent and there are lots of outside areas with plants and plenty of parking. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I don't know why I thought a farm would have healthier, (less processed) options than a conventional grocery store, but I did and I was very disappointed. The produce is not organic, which I expected. The packaged products were full of unnecessary preservatives, artificial colors, msg, seed oils and gluten. I don't know why it's unnecessary to add all of that to wasabi peas for instance. The prices would make you think that you must be getting clean, organic, gourmet products but that's definitely not the case. I did also try one of their freshly made chicken wraps. It was pretty flavorful but I can only imagine what's in there. No complaints about the service. Neutral experience. They do have a parking lot. read more

This was my first time visiting ward's berry. It was a beautiful day with the lady, but the atmosphere here is great for dates and families. All the staff i encountered were super nice and answers all questions that you may have! I don't know much for seasons and times things are best, that's more of the lady but the staff can tell you what's been picked thru a lot and what's in season atm. We went for the cherry tomatoes and the blueberries! There's so many rows and so much fresh produce you can pick. There's a big hayride tractor that was taking families around and that's as super cool to see and waiving to the kids as they ride by excitedly! Super cute! When you get tired the farm has a great looking smoothie bar, wraps, sandwhiches etc. the sandwhiches looked huge and shareable which is great, probably try one next time but we were on a time crunch! I came here over the weekend with friends for strawberry picking. I don't eat strawberries but occasionally I'll add them to smoothies if they're there so I mainly came for the experience. First off playing farmville was a lie! because I thought strawberry shrubs were tall not so low to the ground. It did however help me to get some squats in haha. There was some drizzle of rain but I sang my go-away-rain song and it cleared up to a beautiful sunny day :) It was $24 for 2quarts which is roughly 3.5lbs of strawberries. We harvested a lot of various sizes and shapes! Some looked like the perfect poster strawberry and others that look the opposite but the end of the day they all taste the same! The indoor farm store has lots to offer including some of Ward's Berry Farm's bottled jammed, edible flowers, meats, fruits and vegetables etc as well as other brands. They also have a food and smoothie section to get food from with shaded eating tables outside. I tried their purple banana smoothie but I was a little disappointed in how little banana there was in it, otherwise it was a refreshing smoothie. There's also a food truck on site but I didn't get to take a look at their menu. They have private tents for kids birthday parties. And a big playground for them to have fun on. We went all waiting for our medicines. We made the pharmacy who went towards Berry farm to have a coffee and a tea and we have scone the muffin. It was delicious as always the muffin had more blueberries and muffin, and the scone had more apple cinnamon that had gone. Which is why I like to go there because they use all their own fresh berries or fruit, vegetables, etc. to make their scones and their muffins and all their other pastry is definitely a taste of homemade for sure read more

Ward's Berry Farm in Sharon is one of my favorite local farms to go to! Their berries are always fresh & staff is friendly. Hayrides are available if you don't wanna walk but all the fruits are walking distance from the PYO Tent line. They have lots of signs that help direct you to where you wanna go, which I found to be super helpful. We picked blueberries & cherry tomatoes today. Blueberries $8/pint & cherry tomatoes $12/quart. For cherry tomatoes they have red ones and the orange ones... also saw some hybrids of both red & orange! The roma tomatoes looked super nice too but we didn't pick any today. The blueberries were smaller than I had hoped. It makes sense though since blueberry season is pretty much passed & not in season in August. In previous years when I have gone blueberry picking here in July usually, the blueberries are HUGE. Lots of food options available such as sandwiches, drinks/smoothies, & ice cream. Also, super family friendly farm with lots of stuff for kids to do here. Bouncy, in ground trampoline floor, sand pit, playground, and more. Ward's is a great place to spend a weekend afternoon if you have kids. Their summer set up includes live music, tractor rides, bounce mats, and food/beer trucks in addition to a playground area and pick your own fields. Castle Island has a booth for cold beers while your kids play. When the kiddos need a snack, they have soft serve, smoothies, and sandwiches inside in addition to a food truck serving hot dogs, chicken fingers, and fries. The store inside has a nice selection of veggies and fruits along with all the basics you would find at a small speciality grocery store. The prices are pretty high though. There is also a small selection of baked goods that are delicious. Plenty of parking along the side in an unpacked lot. read more

I haven't been here too much in the last year. Mostly because they open at 9.00 a.m., at least this time of year. I've stopped several times and they weren't open before nine. I recently planned my day so I could get there after 9 a.m. I walked in and around the cashier. She was busy on her cell and no hello. No one else seem interested in helping me or answering when I addressed a hello to them. I get better service at Walmart then I got at wardsberry on my last visit. So fun! I went blueberry picking here and although it was out of season, there were still a lot of blueberries and they were flavorful. I thought the prices were reasonable for the blueberries, roughly 5$ for a decent sized box and they also give you a little net so your blueberries dont fall out in transit. There were some rows where the blueberries were very dry and looked like they hadn't been watered in a while, which is what is prompting the four stars - though I also understand we are in a drought right now and also its nearing the end of the season. We got there on a Saturday afternoon and were afraid there was no parking, but there were a lot of spots further down near the blueberries so it worked out for us. Came here randomly looking for a blueberry picking farm. this place is the only closest one that I found around the area since I was also meeting a friend there. farm is not bad, its actually pretty big and the area is huge. only thing is that for that day the weather was hot and I didn't know I had to walk so far just to get to where those blueberry plants were, I had a stroller and a toddler with me which made the struggle worse. the pavement was not smooth either so the stroller was struggling to roll on those pathways. The plants wasn't tripped well to make it easier for the pickers either plus the distance between the plants are just enough for you to pass by. When we were leaving we were so thirsty that we wanted to buy something cold but then the store already closed and didn't even consider getting us anything when we were already there looking for drinks. that was rude of them if you are gonna ask me. We came more for the experience than the berries, or at least I had. It was my mom's first time strawberry picking. She had no idea that strawberries were such a low growing fruit. It was my second time so I let her do most of the work, although I don't think she deemed it as such. For the two of us, I picked up a pint size strawberry box ($5.50, no tax) in the white tent between the potted plants and the playground. (Tip: enter Ward's Berry Farm, and head right to park.) There were other things under the tent to entice, including those frozen dots treats, but now was not the time to weigh myself down - off to the fields! How? The lady at the register was kind enough to point the way upon my inquiry - past the hay ride, and there would be a strawberry sign with an arrow to point the way along the dirt road. 10 minute walk to the day's field. (Actually, it took us 4 minutes.) The hay ride was $4 per person. You pay at the same spot and the line starts up right outside the tent. Tractor pulled, there was actually no hay involved. It looked safe enough for the younglings with benched seats and safety rails, though they may need an assist up the steps to get on and off. The ride unloaded folks at the farther end of the field, which was quite smart in spreading out the berry pickers, and giving them more of a ride for their money. There was a porta potty right by the strawberry field. A rather good sized one from Pee Palace. I didn't peek inside, but it looked decently roomy. A staffer greeted us and suggested that we pick a row and try our luck near the center. Strawberries don't seem to all grow at the same rate. Small white young berries grew right beside red berries of various sizes! We looked for red specimens of course, and tried to find some on the larger side, although the smaller red berries also looked quite lovely. It took less than 20 min for us to have a heaping pint of bright red berries. Strawberry Picking season started up at Ward's Berry Farm on June 8th this year. With this being the last weekday morn before Father's Day 2022, it was pleasantly sparsely populated, while the berries were still a-plenty. I wouldn't say the same for their playground. There were a good number of children jumping on the new bouncy pillow ($5 for 30 min, socks recommended), and probably two different events taking place. A food truck hawking a simple menu of hamburgers, cheese burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, french fries (gussied up or not) and frozen treats sat handily by the playground. We didn't make it to the farm store on this visit, but would have been glad to spend more time here if we had it. I'd also love to have checked out the other fields to see if I could have been tempted to pick up a box of sugar snap peas ($8 a quart), or some of their pick your own flowers ($14 for a 16 oz mason jar). Bigger berry pickers could have opted for a 2 quart box for $20 or a 4 quart for $35, in place of our sufficient pint for $5.50. I'm surprised it took me so long to make it out here. I've been to the market between Ward's and Route 95, and never knew this place existed so close! I appreciated that the farm was no dogs allowed given that we were basically picking food off from the ground. Oh, and I asked if their strawberries were organic - they aren't. We fit 24 berries in our little box, and they were sweet. We realized afterwards that we should have picked some smaller red specimens to fill out the empty air pockets. Despite the gray clouds & drizzle, our family had a splendid day!! I and 4 grandchildren (ages 4-10) headed straight to the wagon ride & headed for the corn maze with our little maps. In the field we enjoyed feeding the piglets, gathering pumpkins in the pumpkin patch & admiring the vast gardens & orchards at Ward. Finally, we hopped back on the wagon and returned to the main tents for some shopping, the playground, and treats such as candy apples, warm cider and cider donuts! This is one half of the woodstock sandwich. It was sooo good! The portion was generous with lots of meat and cheese. The peppers and onions were cooked enough to mellow out their flavor too. The bun was soft and perfect for the rich meaty sandwich. This is the sandwich to get here. However, it took around 15 minutes to get the sandwich after ordering (which is worth the wait). The rest of the farm was beautiful too with so many family activities, live music, and great produce. The parking was ample as well. Mark this farm as a nice weekend stop this fall! read more

I've been looking for some good local farmers markets and Ward's Berry farm is certainly one of them!! First of all, the place is HUGE! My partner and I spent at least 30 minutes wandering around and I still felt like I missed a lot. The veg we bought (lettuce, tomato, corn, etc) was amazing, you can definitely taste the freshness. We also got a peach and some plums which were equally as fresh and ripe! The produce was reasonably priced as far as farmers markets go (plus you're giving your money straight to local farmers!!). The artisan goods are plentiful (so many sauces and jams and snacks!) and definitely pricier but so fun. We got some Ward's natural sodas (LOVED) and I want to come back for the gorgeous dried flower bouquets. The service was great, everything was well stocked and staff were easily found all around the store. Needless to say we will be back! read more

This place is amazing entertainment for toddlers. They have a playground, slide, swing set, bouncy pad, pigs, and large sandbox with lots of construction trucks for public use. We also love their Strawberry Cooler. They also sell baked goods and serve ice cream, which kiddos love. Plenty of outdoor picnic table seating. So.... I didn't actually go berry picking b/c it was way too hot lol - however, the farm to table food truck was AMAZING. Got this INCREDIBLE fried chicken sandwich for like $8 plus the Dippin Dots which were $5. Best fried chicken sandwich I've ever had, the bread, lettuce, tomato, chicken, cheese were all so so fresh. Dippin dots were also good. I'm sure anything grab and go style that you get there will be good b/c it's a farm so everything is so fresh. Coming in the summer, there is also a big market with a lot of the farm produce like fruits, flowers, jams- a lot of stuff / variety but it's not cheap haha... just fyi. Bathrooms are also similiar to porter potty's so they're not the cleanest, definitely bring hand sanitizer and tissues (I mean it's a farm so what can you expect? haha). I am also a single young adult with no kids... this place seems very family/kid oriented with playgrounds and bday parties, so I didn't feel like this was my place but overall food was very yummy & good amount of nice photo spots. Took my students on a field trip here this fall and it's just a wonderful community building experience. We start off by taking a tractor ride through the farm stopping along the way to learn about the plants that are growing. The person running the ride was friendly and knowledgeable. The students then get to feed the piglets and watch them eat. Then it's back on the tractor to drive down to the pumpkin patch. Included in the price of the trip, the students each get to pick a pumpkin. Then we headed to the pavilion where we ate lunch. They also have a really big playground that my students loved playing on. They have porta-potties that were big and clean. Such a fun trip that our young students really enjoy. read more

An awesome summer stop for families with kids! Lots of "pick your own" fields, including strawberries, peas, and flowers. There's a large playground area (separated into big kid and little kid areas), some animals, and a large market place that sells the farm's products as well as other local goods. There's a little cafe in there too that makes awesome smoothies, sandwiches, etc. The only downside is that spending a day there will cost you a pretty penny. PYO strawberries are $6 a pint, a bundle of sunflowers is $12, some parts of the playgrounds you have to pay to use, and the food they make there is on the more expensive side. It's fun, fresh, and delicious though, so worth it! read more

this farm was so beautiful! they had a variety of pick your own crops. for this time of year, we picked flowers, sunflowers, blueberries, edamame, and potatoes. we spent a few hours on the farm, and it was a great way to spend our sunday. you have to purchase containers/baggies to hold the crops before you enter. they also have clippers. the farm is definitely big, so i highly recommend having water as you will be walking around a lot if you are picking your own crops. there are also carts throughout the farm that you can use to hold your stuff. if you plan on picking flowers, i would recommending picking them last so that they don't dry up as much. we had a wonderful time. i would highly recommend coming here for pick your own crops or just to explore the farm. read more

This is a very nice place for a few hours of family fun. Took three boys there today to pick strawberries. They have you pre-pay seven dollars for a container that might hold ten average size strawberries and another four dollars former wagon ride to the field. The field we were left at had no strawberries! We picked may ten tiny and I mean tiny under ripe berries and called it a day. $44.00 for ten green strawberries. They knew this when they took the money, would have been nice to have been told the pickings were slim. This place is such a gem! My husband and I went with our two-year-old to pick blueberries. Our kiddo loved it. There are other activities there to entertain the kids. The playground was a big hit. You can really make a day out of this place! In addition to local produce and pick your own, there is an area for kids to play, including a sand pit that my son loved, and some animals to see. I'll start by stating that I went on a Monday, so my guess is that theres much more offered over the weekend. maybe more kids activities? I went mainly to teach my 6 yr old re agriculture and that food doesnt just "come from grocery stores" as he once asked about. There were plenty of strawberries. I was pleasantly surprised by that. There was no crowding at all (prob bc it was a weekday) The store items were intentionally laid out, even putting candy down at kids eye level. The prices for the strawberry baskets are only justifiable if you think of it as an "experience" for your kid vs number of berries per payment ratio. There were plenty of sunny and shady spots to rest and eat. I loved the playground made of oversized tires, the sand dune play area hugged by tall planks of wood (for those little runners), and the wooden benches and plastic chairs that surrounded the picking area. Something that impressed me was the quality of the porter potties. Im not talking about the solo typical ones. Im talking about the ones that lead up the stairs, have a foot push down lever, a real sink, Not purelle but soap w water. and real paper towels. (hell yeah. these are the simple life luxuries you appreciate again semi post covid) so essentially, I came to Ward's for the potties. read more
