Ward's Bridge Inn is one of our favorite local restaurants, and we come here often. The food is consistently excellent--honestly, we've yet to order something we didn't enjoy. The menu offers great quality, and the prices are very reasonable, especially for the portions and overall experience. The atmosphere is one of the best parts of the restaurant. It's warm, inviting, and especially beautiful during the holidays when it's decorated for the season. The restaurant is always clean, and we also enjoy the bar and cozy lounge area, which make it a great place to relax before or after dinner. The only minor downside is that the parking lot is a bit small, and I wish they were open on Sundays and Mondays since those are popular days to dine out. Overall, Ward's Bridge Inn is a fantastic local gem with delicious food, great value, and an atmosphere that keeps us coming back. Highly recommended! read more

Awful execution and poorly trained waitstaff. The pounded veal chop special with Vodka sauce was impressive looking, but overcooked. The first bite brought tears to my eyes - a full can of cayenne in the sauce? Two more bites before pushing it away. The waitress stopped by once, asking how things were and hurried off after my complaint. No offer to re-do. My guy ordered the filet of beef/portobello mushroom salad; the meat was properly cooked rare, but a tiny portion. His greens were limp. My side salad was limp. I'm sure the chef didn't notice the full chop and pasta going into the trash. We won't be back. read more

First time here in a decade, and now I remember why. Meh food with the service to match and high prices. I ordered the "Crispy Wings." There was absolutely nothing crispy about them. They were tiny; think College Dive Bar 25 cent Wednesday Wing Night small with a thin coating of meek mild sauce. Not sure what it was tbh. The bartender asked how they were after a bit. I looked at her, shrugged, and said, "Eh..." She seemed perfectly content with that answer. I ate three wings and stopped. When she asked if I wanted them wrapped, I said no. After decades in the service industry, I've learned that a customer who barely touches their food and doesn't want a box is a huge red flag. I didn't want to outright complain because I know what it's like to deal with customers in the service industry. I almost never complain. I hoped my reaction would've opened a door for me to discuss. Apparently not. When I got up to leave, after paying and tipping 20%, I mentioned that the wings had been pretty terrible. Rather than showing any curiosity, she immediately became defensive and suggested it was my fault for not saying something sooner. I explained that between the shrug, the "eh," and leaving most of the order untouched, I thought I'd communicated my opinion fairly clearly. Her response was essentially, "You were on your phone the whole time. I didn't want to bother you." The tone was super condescending whether she realized it or not. Also it's a strange conclusion to jump to. People can be on their phones for reasons other than scrolling social media. In my case, I was coordinating a surprise graduation effort with coworkers and discussing student gifts. Regardless, a customer quietly eating three wings out of an order and pushing the plate away should probably warrant more attention than whether they're looking at a screen. To be fair, she makes a very good Old Fashioned. Credit where it's due. At $16 each, though, I probably would've stopped at two had I known. I just assumed the pricing would be more in line with the rest of town. Three modest sized Makers Mark old fashioneds and five bar wings- 72 bucks. 85 with tip despite the vibe she gave. She was still working and deserves correct pay despite being generally unpleasant. And as I don't know if she was having an off day- I also wouldn't jump to conclusions about a Person- it's almost never right to tip less than 20%. read more

Wards Bridge women bar tenders are the worst. Being a woman and knowing barkeep and customer service as I worked in the industry for years. These two women were awful. Rolled their eyes about making specific drinks. Went picking up trash rolled up napkins etc...from floor then proceeded to put her hands in the lemon wedges to fix the drinks. Not once washing her hands. Not a pleasant experience and I won't be going back. Filthy and unfriendly. read more

My sons took me to Wards Bridge inn Montgomery NYfor a pre- Father's Day meal. Had the Black Angus steak. I should've sent it back.the worst I've ever eaten in my life , tough chewy, and full of weird fat )absolute hog slop. don't go there for steak! I did mention to the waitress that I was very unhappy with the steak, and my comment was completely shrugged off. Went here for dinner for a friends birthday. We had a reservation for 12 people. The parking lot is a nightmare. There's not a lot of it and people were circling around nonstop looking. We ended up having to park a street down on the road. Upon going in, it is a little confusing as where to go so we kinda stood there, 4 of us, behind another group before realizing they weren't in any type of line or anything. Once finding a host though we were brought to our table which was already set up. Food service here is VERY SLOW. Dinner took over 2 hours. They didn't even take our entree orders until after we had been finished with our appetizers. At that point we were all very shocked we hadn't ordered yet. It had been so much time we didn't even remember we still had to order. I got the Fly me to the moon martini which was delicious. Very strong and tasted of artificial watermelon which I loved. My friend got the mango margarita which was on the specials menu and was very delicious. After dinner I did get an alcoholic specialty coffee, it was the WIB or something like that. Although it was good it could've used some more sweet. My fiance and I split the steak eggrolls for our appreciate and they were AMAZING. I'm sad they're on the specials menu because I wouldn't come back just for them so I don't want them going anywhere! He got the filet mignon and shrimp noodle bowl which looked amazing. Was feeling sad I'm allergic to shellfish because I wanted a bite! I got the chicken valdostona which I was hesitant to order because it didn't specify what it came with and I was worried I was going to get just one piece of chicken in sauce for $30. Big was I pleasantly surprised to receive a huge plate of 3 chicken breast and a small plate with veggies and mashed potatoes. Everything was very good and the chicken was cooked perfectly. For dessert I got the pots de crème and it wasn't very good. Just tasted like overpriced bland pudding. My fiance got the salted caramel and pretzel cookie which came with a scoop of icecream and was delicious. At the end they were unable to split the bill by items so we had to figure out the amounts to put on each card ourselves. To make it easier on the staff we were splitting it into 4 groups at the table as we didn't all know eachother. The staff was very kind. I would definitely come back here but it is very expensive so it would be a planned special event type place. read more

This place has great atmosphere, but the acoustics could stand improvement. It's very loud inside. Those metal tile ceilings may be super cute, but they make the sounds too loud inside. Expensive menu, but worth every penny. I ordered only appetizers. The shrimp cocktail came with a cocktail sauce and a creamy horseradish sauce. The creamy horseradish sauce is super mild, and it tastes even better with the shrimp than the standard cocktail sauce. The French Onion Soup is off-the-hook delicious! It's made correctly with sherry. Since you can taste the sherry, it's not recommended for folks in recovery. Friendly staff, great food. I'll definitely return someday. read more

Enjoyed a nice Saturday lunch here, country cozy place with dining in sky lite room in the back of the restaurant. Note : They close between 4pm and 5pm. We tried the Grilled chicken on toasted bread with portobello & peppers and a steak sandwich. Everything was super fresh, especially hearted the bread. Service was awesome and the bartender recommended some great IPAs to wash down the steak. All around fun and will return! read more

Then the waitress greets you and takes you to the rear of the building. The restaurant is tucked away in the rear of the building. There are two stories to this restaurant. There is ample seating for dining patrons. Its nice how the tavern and restaurant are separated, one doesn't encroach on the other. The feel here is warm and inviting. The cuisine is American. It looks like it can handle a large volume of people at any given time. I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp cocktail as an appetizer. I went with two entrees, Macaroni and cheese with lobster. I also had the Maryland Style Crabcakes with lemon buerre blanc sauce. The crabcakes were really, really good! My coworker had the Filet Mignon. He gave it two thumbs up!
