We got lunch at Subway, stopped in at Starbucks, ABC Store and Ross. Yes, we are total corporate chain sell outs and I am completely ashamed of myself. Tomorrow I make the commitment to buy my coffee from a local hipster coffee shop that only single origin pour overs from a responsible fair trade grower, buy all my produce from a farmers market, go to Goodwill and buy used clothing so I create less waste, and get my takeout from a mom 'n pop restaurant who sources 40% of their product from local organic growers. Who am I kidding? I'll just start with the coffee and we'll see how it goes from there...

It is a tourist town. Lots of restaurants with great food throughout the town. The Big Shave was the large grocery store in town. We had breakfast almost everyday here in town at Break and Feast. Love it The Koloa Fish Market and Masubi Truck were also a good place to visit. There was a small stream through the town and lots of places to explore. I totally recommend stopping and checking out this place. Everyone is friendly and so many places to see and visit. Lots of history here to. Plus a variety of shops and stores.

The cool wooden bowls (pineapple, turtle shaped, etc) were all more than half the price of the same items I saw at other shops. I just wanted a shirt for myself though and was plenty happy to get a soft shirt without breaking the bank. The shop was empty when I wandered in. There was only a man at the register who was reading. I had fun browsing overall. Wish I had more time to see all the various aisles - there were so many little knick knacks and gift items. I went in to support a local business and the shopkeeper was hospitable and a great salesperson. She explained that their suppliers are local, but some products are made overseas. Still, they have a great selection of clothing, toys, home decor and my favorite, candles and skin products. There is a decent kama'aina discount that helps keep things reasonable.
