I don't mind a masseuse taking initiative to get all the knots out my neck and back, but if it is a full body massage it should include all parts. If there is no time due to my tense muscles, then inform me of that. I've been to many massage places and usually they will ask which areas of the body I would like them to focus more on, prior to starting.

She alluded to her "many years of experience" and "various qualifications" too numerous to tell in the short time we had on the phone. I decided to give her a try. I arrived today and was ushered into her very lovely lobby and then treatment room. I was given a menu of services and we discussed her areas of expertise and my physical condition so that she could customize a massage for my particular body. Although, as I say, I normally seek out deep tissue work, we agreed that a combination of the various modalities she's trained in would be the best approach for my symptoms. I lay down on her memory foam topped table with super lush bedding (wow - so incredibly comfortable!!) and was treated to aromatherapy, hot stones (ok - I get what the hype's all about now!), deep tissue, stretching, accupressure, and even some education about what all she was doing and why. It was a wonderful session and I left feeling rejuvenated and energized on top of my sense of healing, relaxation, relief from my symptoms, and overall well-being. As she said in our session, her focus was on getting my body into balance, and then the body knows what to do from there.
