Below is the sole reason our fur babies will be seen by Dr. Reese, as long as she is in the Middle Georgia area. Rachael and I cannot thank you enough. This review is about more than seeing Tank this morning; this is for the level of professionalism you and your entire staff show when I reached out this morning. I'm not sure if you're aware of the time I called, or the time a return call was given to me, so I'll include that information when I express my gratitude by highlighting my experience with Dr. Reese and her team. Around 20 Jan., Dr. Reese saw my little American Bully buddy Tank. He was diagnosed with an ulcer in his eye. Dr. Reese was thorough with her diagnosis explanation, as well as the treatment best suited for this situation. Moving a little fast from then to now, Tank was on the healing side of his ulcer until this past weekend. Possibly scratched his eye or had something in it. Part of me was hoping this was part of the healing process, but something wasn't right. I called the Animal Hospital Dr. Reese worked at on the morning of 28 Jan., around 0730, concerned Tank's eye was at a state of irreversible damage and possibly causing much more pain to spread due to the swelling. Knowing the office didn't open until 0830, I wanted to be one of the first to receive a callback. To my surprise, I received a call at 0803 letting me know they could see Tank at 1000. Remember, the office opens at 0830 and I received a call at 0803. I arrived at 0930 and was taken to a room. Waiting a very short period of time, Tank was weighed, temperature checked, doctors collaborated on Tank's condition, and I was given the available options with his best interest at heart. With the information I was given, my wife and I was able to decide on Tank's treatment. While we never wanted to be in this predicament, Tank's health and well-being was our, and the doctor's, primary concern. We opted to have his eye removed. Within six and a half hours, I reached out and our little buddy was in and out of surgery. Not to mention, the cost was more than reasonable. Conclusion: We have had many veterinarians in the past, as we have rescued a lot of furbabies. Dr. Reese has quickly become part of our family. Personable and caring, the staff doesn't try to get you "in and out". The doctors don't try to load you up with medicines. Instead, the staff is professional, patient, and understanding. Dr. Reese listens to your concerns, educates and explains any treatments of medical issues, and above all...LOVES your furbabies like her own. To Dr. Reese, thank you, from the bottom our hearts. I've been using this Veterinarian for 15 years. I've always been very happy with their service. Today, i am looking for a new Vet. She told me they would open at 2 pm & i could bring my kitty. I arrived just before 2 and waiting room was full. Ok. She said someone is ahead of me, I had to wait outside. I asked if i could sit in the empty chair. No. Had to wait out in the hot. My car was too hot as their were no spots in the shade. So, i sat on the concrete near door under shade. A lady came out and said 4 were in her party leaving I could go in and wait. I said, she said she would call me. A few more left, a man told me there were about 5 chairs inside. I was still waiting for her to call so i would not have to be in heat. I finally called and said I saw many leave. She still would not let me in. Me and my cat sat out in the heat for an hour when there were chairs inside in the cool. I am not sure why i was not worthy enough to sit inside in the cool, but i left. This is not kind in Georgia summer heat when there were several chairs available inside. I am finding a new place for my kitties. I am only leaving the 4 stars because the Veterinarian has always been nice and good, but the young lady keeping me in the hot would get 0 stars for service or lack there of. read more

*shortened statement at very bottom* We have taken our pets here for the past few years, but that is no longer the case. We took our cat in on Monday 5/13, because of a extended period of constipation. The following Tuesday 5/14 and Wednesday 5/15, I was informed that the cat was yet to have a BM. The whole point of having the cat there was to have him cleared of his constipation, whether be by enema or other remedy. On Wednesday 5/15, I visited to get a clearer picture as to what was being done to clear it up. I was told by the Dr that he has not had a BM because there was no stool to be moved. This was after being told that the cat was "eating healthy" and that they were even allowing him to "over eat". So with all this food, where was the stool? I requested my current bill amount and cost of adding an X-ray, that way I could see for myself whether or not what the doctor had said was right. Bill was quoted at $270, X-ray at $75 and if we were allow him to stay one more night it would be $20. Totaling $365. X-ray showed a large amount of stool. On Thursday 5/16, I was informed the cat had a BM, and at the recommendation of the doctor , he was ready to be brought home. We arrive to be billed at $467.19. We deliberated but they stuck to their guns that this was what was owed no matter what I was told the previous day. Taking the cat to the car , we noted a strong smell of feces. The cat carrier was still wet from where the vet had attempted to clean it, and the cat had feces around its paws, stomach, and tail. Basically any part that touched the bottom of the carrier. That is not necessarily a problem, stuff happens. However, the cat proceeded to have green diarrhea in the carrier on the way home. Upon getting home, we washed the cat and carrier. Moments later, the cat again has another bout of the same diarrhea. This happened two more times within the hour of having him home. So from being told he doesn't have stool to move, to seeing it on the X-ray, to having the BM, but in the forms of multiple bouts of severe diarrhea, I have been led to believe the cat was dosed up heavily on a form of laxative, and then the vet called us to take him home so that we had to deal with the problem. In my opinion, the movement the cat had at the vet should have signaled to them that the cat was not ready to be taken home. All being said, we will not take anymore of our pets here. *shortened statement*. Reason for visit: Cat was constipated for 4 days. Doctor claimed 3 days into stay there was no stool to be moved, X-ray showed differently. Next day, dr recommended cat is ready to go home. Cat proceeds to have rounds of diarrhea at home, as if dosed with laxative prior to pick up. Quoted bill was $365, bill ended up having an extra $100 added, to total $467.19. Couldn't explain why. read more

My friend went here for a emergency with her dog and they ask for a deposit of $200 so she gave them that and when she went to pick up her baby she took them $200 more that was her rent money and all she had and they refused to give her dog back until she had more money . The bill was over $900 and she was not informed that it all had to be paid upfront and they would do plan payments after giving them everything she had. So Sad I thought they were there because they care about animals. My friend was so upset and treated so wrong !!! Never would I recommend them.... read more

When our cat, Fred, started to limp on a Friday, we took him to WRAH the following Monday morning. While we had been pleased with Dr Dorough in the past, a new doctor, Dr Sommers saw Fred this time. He showed us a seriously infected area on the underside of Fred's leg where the fur was coming off. He suggested that we leave our kitty for treatment. We picked him up on Thursday and Dr Sommers showed us the clean open wound which was bigger than a silver dollar and explained what he had done and what we needed to do to help him recover completely. The bill was $180 which I felt was more than reasonable for the boarding and care he had been given. It has been two weeks and the skin has closed over the area and he is as good as new. I would recommend this veterinary practice over others I have used in the area. read more

I must respond to the negative review of WR Animal Hospital. For years I have used their services and have only the highest of compliments for the care and concern that they have shown to any of my pets. I, too, had any emergency with my dog three years ago. It was around 6PM on a Saturday and were in the middle of a severe thunderstorm, I called their emergency line and was terribly worried they would not be available to treat Bella given the time and the weather. I was happily proven wrong when Dr Dorough called me and said he would meet me at the office and treat her. Emergency visits are never cheap for people or pets, but like people, insurance is available. I would suggest that the previous reviewer should look into that instead of bashing someone that has never shown anything but the highest of concern for any animal brought in for treatment. read more

I also HAD to reply when seeing these negative reviews. I believe we have been using ONLY WRAH now for over 2 years. I would not put my Pomeranians under anyone's care but here. Both are like family and getting on in years. Vet's saved my Pomeranian's life after old MACON VET failed to even give her all the meds a CHF patient would need. After ling night, rushed her to WRAH next AM. She could hardly breathe by then and her tongue was a dusky purple. They gave her all 3 meds needed using the newer meds on the market, some I'M, and she had to stay all day in their 02 tank. Picked her up and she was doing great and has now for 2 years! She is a senior dog named Bingy. HER mother at 14 years old is seen there as well. HAS collapsing trachea. Both vets there explain xrays, blood test results, other tests, disease processes, and give tips they have learned along the way. No wait time like in MACON! Prices are just a tiny bit more, but we'll worth it! I FEEL confident leaving my dogs here! STAFF has always been very nice and friendly to me so I have no idea where some people feel they deserve being criticized. They are nice, knowledgeable, and efficient. If they want to complain, visit a MACON walk-in clinic! These ladies at WRAH are "angels" compared to them! Lol! read more
