I am a patient of Dr. Baine for more than 30 years. Although I now live in Brooklyn and Dr. Baine is located in LI I continue to go to him. He is a very good and caring doctor and he literally saves my teeth. I have very poor gums and if not for Dr. Baine, I would already be toothless. "Rude Rude Rude!!!! The moment I walked in I felt maybe I shouldn't have gone to this doctor's office. The Dentist was also the receptionist ... Weird!!! I gave all my dental info and cards for them to have on file. Was charged for X-rays when I already had X-rays - doctor insisted he needs new ones not knowing if I was covered or not. I receive a rude text for non payment months later which I had no idea about I was waiting for a call back regarding what insurance would cover. I call office to discuss I'm put on hold a women answers the phone I explain the situation and her voice starts getting louder and louder and as I was speaking she says "EXCUSE ME EXCUSE ME" she wouldn't let me speak. I said why are you getting loud you're being rude. She says I have cameras on me I'm not rude. She continues speaking and I try to speak over her but she wasn't letting me. " She says " I DON'T CARE IF IM ON CAMERA " and she just went off... This office is definitely not a place I would go back to or refer. Plenty of other doctors this one is a HUGE thumbs down. DR. Baine is great! From start to finish I've felt comfortable going to him. He is personable as well as beyond knowledgeable with his trade. He explains everything in detail with a level of comprehension that everyday people can understand. I like that he takes his time and truly cares about the patient. The 20+ times I've been there it's been impeccably clean and the staff has been friendly and warm. Any time Dr. Baine has done work on my mouth I've been at ease and comfortable with the procedure. He asks over and over how I'm feeling throughout the process. The added touch is he calls you personally after hours just to make sure you're feeling ok. This was a referral by Dr. Peter Blumenthal of Astoria. The personification of evil. He seems to change offices often enough to raise a red flag on that basis alone. Need more confirmation? He inflicted pain and bone damage incidental to his other duties, which apparently included satisfying a need for retribution for some insult life had bestowed on him, leaving him unqualified to feel empathy for this hapless victim - oops, I mean patient. His job was to clean under the gums. But one day, this mustached, bespectacled little fellow performed an act of terror that deserves mention: a "scraping" procedure, in which each of the four quadrants of your teeth are cleaned deeply under the gum to alleviate a condition in which a bone recession is treated to address an uneveness in the gum line. If that seems like gibberish to you, it did to me as well. But the gullible fool inside of me believed every word, allowing that there are things not meant to be understood about the mysterious world of dental hygiene that should be left to the "artistry" of seasoned, well-educated professionals. I gave him my trust that he would carry out his prime directive: "First, do no harm." But it was with (painful) befuddlement that I sat in his office, his tight grip on the long, blunt, rounded edged instrument shoved into and twisted deeply underneath the gum in the upper-left quadrant. He ignored involuntary tears suddenly flowing down my cheeks as he held a five-minute conversation with a female associate. Afterwards, he inspected the instrument as he walked quietly away, nonchalantly wiping the instrument clean with his apron. An infection occurred there a couple of years later, resulting in a $1200 operation by an endodontist named Dr. Liao in Astoria, to dig a hole into that same spot, into the gum, to clean out infection. read more

I cannot agree with the previous review. As a physician I see 100s of patient's every month, I may personally receive a handful or reviews per year, usually from patient's I would not want in my practice anyway. Usually my patients that are satisfied with me do not leave reviews even research this website, they refer there family members, friends, colleagues, etc. I am a physician, residing in Richmond Virginia, it takes me approximately 8 hours to drive to his office. I was referred to him by my general dentist, Dr. Wilensky, of Lake Grove, New York, who I have seen for the past 25 years, and continue to see since relocating to Richmond. I had been seeing Dr. Baine for approximately 1 year. There are other periodontists closer, but I feel he is worth the drive. His explanation of my conditions although technical are quite easy to follow. His staff is wonderful to work with. Sure It hurts when you have dental surgery, as well as any surgery. The anti-inflammatories dispensed -ibuprofen was more than significant to handle the discomfort. I was administered local anesthetic and ample time for it to take effect which was more than appropriate before any procedure performed. read more

Don't know what to expect or anything related with your oral hygiene for that matter, Dr. Baine has the answer and will take his time to explain it to you. The worst dentist I have ever been to. I went to see him for a specific procedure, referred by my regular dentist. He was working on another patient while he was working on me, that is just wrong. He also started to work on me before I was fully numb. I get yearly calls from his office trying to get me to make a needless check-up appointment. I tell them every time how little I think of Dr Baine and to please remove me from their records and please never call again. And every year, they call again. So in addition to being a terrible dentist, he has an incompetent staff. I just got that yearly call from them..figured if my humble request to be removed from their records doesn't seem to work, maybe a scathing review would do the trick. I wouldn't ask him or his staff to mail a letter for me, let alone work on my teeth and gums. read more

There is a highly negative review in this string that I find hard to credit - Dr. Baine has always been the consummate professional in his dealings with me, and his skill has allowed me to retain teeth which - due to various reasons - would have been lost without his intervention. He was always solicitous of any pain when dealing with me, and the attention of the office and him to proper hygiene is, to my observation, impeccable. Dr Baine is one of the most astute medical professionals I've ever met. His work is excellent and he has a terrific customer focus for his patients. Also, he is very helpful when dealing with insurance companies, dental plans and patient budgets. Many times I travel all the way from the northern Bronx and Westchester County to his Jericho office on Long Island for appointments. That's how much confidence I have in Dr Baine! I was in the market for a periodontist and after going to 2 other places, who could not even get an appointment correct I found Dr. Baine. I've been going to him for years (at least 5). I immediately felt comfortable in his office. He is a kind, and gentle man (and gentle is important when dealing with my very sensitive mouth). He's always Bennett very informative about the procedures he was performing and always checks in to make sure I'm ok. My gums and mouth are in great shape now in large part to Dr. Baine. read more

Dr. Baine is great! I needed some fairly extensive periodontal treatment including bone grafting and I was extremely nervous about it. I had seen 2 other periodontists before Dr. Baine and just didn't feel confident they had my best interests in mind. Dr. Baine was honest and professional and addressed all my concerns, his sense of humor and relaxed demeanour really helped my anxiety about the procedures as well. The Queens office isn't fancy but is well equipped and the warm and welcoming staff are awesome. My treatments went really well and I feel it's improved my health overall. Friendly, efficient, and exceedingly careful about my comfort. I won't pretend to have anything meaningful to say about the quality of dental work performed considering I'm not a dentist, however, my very picky dentist (who had loads of comments about previous dental work in my mouth) was thoroughly impressed upon my return to have my crown put atop Dr. Baine's work. Dr Baine was great, I went in for implants. My first appointment was to remove three teeth and do bone grafting. I was so scared to have this done but he told me everything he was going to do, made sure I was comfortable the entire time and even had a special technique when he gave me the Novocain I didn't feel the needle NO PAIN. Dr Baine checked on me that evening. Part two was last week, putting in the implants, again no pain and he called and checked on me the night of the procedure. I got my stitches out today and everything looks great. In the 6 months in between my first and second procedure my husband went in to have deep cleanings on all four quadrants of his mouth. No problems, he even got a lesson in how to floss properly and was sent home with all the tools to do it. I was referred by my general dentist that has 2 locations, one in Plainview and one in Queens, Dr Baine works in the Queens location with him. I saw him in his Jericho office which is closer to my home. The office was clean and bright. His staff was very nice. I highly recommend and will return to Dr Baine in the future. Dr. Baine is an excellent dentist who is patient, kind, and sensitive to his patient's needs. He was able to fix a terrible job by another dentist. I find Mr. Andrew R. 'S review hard to believe as this does not describe the dentist I have been seeing for over a year and a half. I think it's a bit strange he's posting this after 10 years and that he would wait this long to remove this plastic piece from his teeth.
