The service here is very great and the prices are reasonable. We shopped around in the area, and they have the best price range for common needs like exams, vaccines, and routine blood work. We have 3 dogs, so we always look for somewhere that is economic. They also have appointments on a short turn around. The physicians and staff are all kind, although they sometimes run behind. The day we went and they were behind was when they had to help another pet cross the rainbow bridge, so I'm glad they took the time needed. The vet recent caught a heart murmur in one of our dogs and helped us look for a cardiologist. It's only not 4 stars because the building is older and dated. read more

After a full year of searching for a new vet--ever since our last clinic left my 4‑year‑old German Shepherd completely traumatized--I finally booked an early appointment at Warren Woods. It was just a minor checkup and a chance to help her get comfortable with a new environment, but she walked in absolutely terrified. The difference at Warren Woods was immediate. The entire staff was patient, calm, and genuinely compassionate. Dr. Venadam even sat on the floor and played ball with her for ten minutes in the exam room while talking through her history and our concerns. She took her time, explained everything clearly, and never made us feel rushed. We easily spent 45 minutes together, and it was a complete night‑and‑day contrast to the three other vets we've tried in the area. My dog has found her permanent vet. I couldn't recommend Warren Woods more. read more

If I could give this place a negative numbered review, I would. I had never experienced blatant racism before I came to this place. My partner and I walked in with our puppy. We didn't have masks on (which is totally out of the ordinary for me, as I work in healthcare and would just rather wear one), but neither did any of the staff, at the time. Everyone at the front desk was pretty friendly. A couple came out with their cat and ranted and raved about how cute our pup was. Yet, when it was our turn to be seen, the same vet tech that had just got done servicing the cat couple (her name was Shelley) came out with a mask on and stated that because of Covid, she was only allowed to have one person go back with our pup. Her excuse was, "the room is small and my grandmother is having surgery and I don't want her to get Covid." Let me remind you, I had just seen an unmasked (Caucasian) couple come from the back. Let me also point out that we spoke to this place prior to the appointment to confirm the time and that we were still coming. Not once was there a mention made about Covid restrictions or only one person being allowed to be present. This was a shocker to not only us, but the front desk as well! They had no idea what this vet tech Shelley was talking about, as Covid restrictions had not been enforced since '20-'21!! Once my partner got to the back and expressed her disdain for what was happening (by this time I had walked out of that building so flabbergasted; I was shaking), Shelley stated she would speak with the Dr to see if it was ok for me to be in the room. By that time I was so offended that I didn't want anything to do with this place. My pup was never seen that day. We left and ended up at MADISON VETERINARY HOSPITAL where we were welcomed with the most warmest smiles and pleasant personalities! The provided us with optimum care and our pup's vet is SO PERSONABLE! We can't wait to see her again! I know that there are places where people are practically grandfathered into the company. But if something doesn't work, you should change it. No matter how long or how comfortable you may be with it. One bad apple runs the risk of poisoning the good apples and vines. read more

Once covid started and the rules changed, the staff got so mean and didn't care about the pets anymore. I came here with one of my pigs for a surgery & the lady who came out to my car to get him was an absolute witch. She was so unloving and have 0 compassion towards me or my pet. Thank god I found ARK veterinary hospital, they're so much better and have so much love for my pets and they treat people like real humans. I stopped going here after my favorite vet left and the replacements weren't as bedside friendly. One of the tech's was outright rude and tried to shame me for not going to an emergency vet when 1. I did AND 2. I told her they couldn't do anything so spending that money wasn't going to fix the problem. Emergency vets don't do much except get your pet through until you can see a vet. I was very upset about my dying pet and she was very disrespectful about the situation. The person who recommended this place has since stopped going as well due to the rude staff. Update: replying to warren woods from your comment below. Yes the office did call me after I waited in my car for 20 mins, and they told me it will be another 10 minutes. Well, I called the office back after i waited another 25 mins. And when i called, the office claims they message me, but I received no messages. I understand the office can get busy at times. But no every time we come for these tech appointments. Like I said, this wasn't the only issue. I also had issues with making sure our script refill was a 30 day supply 2x, just to pick it up and it be only 15 day supply. So I had to wait for it to be adjusted when I was thinking it'll be a quick run just to pick up meds. Or the time about my dog getting lasered. I had originally got my small dog lasered 3x in the back and hips. And when i decided to purchase the laser package just to be told that it only comes with 1 area not 2 and i would have to pay extra for the second area. Ofcourse I had to speak to the office manager to sort it out. But this is what I mean about the miscommunications. The office is going downhill and we been there for over 10 years. My dog is now 18 and its sad that we have to go elsewhere now because of how it is now. And its even more sad that instead of apologizing about all the miscommunications you want to put the blame on your loyal customers. Been coming for years. So disappointed in everything. All the miscommunications and long wait times. Today I wait over 45 mins in my car just to be seen. And the tech appointments are suppose to last 6-10 mins, each time has been more than 15 mins. Update, circa C-19 Pandemic - Must have been around July 2020, and everything was shut down. My Quaker was really starting to suffer and it was time, "that" time. It was breaking my heart to have a 20 year companionship just end with dropping my dear bird at the door. Dr. Capell, compassionate as she always is, welcomed me into a back lab room for a few final minutes with my buddy. While on the fourth day of teaching their 2 month old baby cockatiel to fly, the baby all of a sudden lost the ability to use its legs. The next day I took the baby (Snow) to whom I thought was going to be Dr Cappel, who has treated a couple of my other cockatiels with broken leg And one with partially amputated wing. Instead we saw Dr Lee, who looked at the bird, but didn't have an answer except to take an xray and give me a small bottle of pain meds with a dosage 3 time smaller than I used to get from Dr Cappel, then charge me $380.00 and send me on my way. Ten days later when I called and told them I was out of meds and gave my credit card info to have more pain meds shipped to me, They billed me $42.00 and told me that they shipped the meds by USPS which was a week ago and I still haven't received it. Ever since Dr Cappel has retired from the clinic, the level of knowledge & service has declined. The wait times are way too long and this clinic seems more like a "girls club" than a veterinary clinic. Wondering how many people have to complain about this before they come on down to earth! And, Dr. C, I assure you that the vet I go to now (like your practice) is experienced, licensed, and well-accredited. They also have an office that is open. A simple call-around to compare your fees with other vets would reveal that you do indeed fall with a thud firmly into the high-priced area, as opposed to merely something "I feel". Who knew Warren was so shi-shi? And I guess my previous question has been answered...even more people have to complain about the prices! Took my dog here for an assessment of her anal glands after a rupture that was treated at another clinic. The front desk clerks were wonderful but the doctor was rude. He spent majority of the time reading web pages on a screen to me. He told me he would print out the information so I'm not sure why he felt the need to read it over and over to me. When I tried to ask questions I was outright ignored. Then he became annoyed I was interrupting him and quickly shuffled my dog into back. When my dog returned she was being carried and she was trembling as if she had been traumatized. She didnt have that much fear when my main vet did the initial expression and flush of the abscess including inserting tubes into ducts. I wont be returning. read more

Mr. Pickles, my 1-year old yellow-front Amazon saw the amazing Dr. Lee and her Vet Tech, today for an emergency visit. 5-stars from A to Z!!!! VERY, VERY knowledgeable, patient and gentle! Dr. Lee debunked a lot of false information that has led to me getting my parrot unnecessary treatments like beak trims, unwanted wing trims, you name it from other pet stores with "good intentions" but unfortunately inaccurate knowledge. Dr. Lee's specialty is exotic birds!! Oh, thank goodness!! I'll never go anywhere else from here on out for all Mr. Pickles' future care! ...My bird is worth every penny I pay and every mile I drive in my car. Trust me-- LESSON LEARNED: Go to an AVIAN VET for A.L.L. your needs and amenities from Day 1 for superior care that will help avoid unnecessary casualties!! Honestly, I am disappointed. The doctor never introduced herself. No handshake. No "Hi, how are you?" Nothing. To this day, I do not know her name. The service provided -- the draining of an ear flap hematoma -- was as costly here as the full surgery with anesthetic and sutures will be at my regular vet. After $281, the drained ear filled right back up the next day. I knew this was a possibility, but if surgery would have been the best way to go and the most cost effective, I would have liked someone to have taken the stand and said so. I count on my vet to guide me in the right choices for my pet because they are the expert and know things that I cannot possibly know. When I called back to see about the cost of getting it drained again or having surgery, the costs were astronomical. Another $150 just to have it drained again (pointless -- knowing it doesn't work, why would this even be an option?) or God knows how much more to anesthetize, do surgery and suture him up afterward. What bothers me the most is that they did the procedure knowing there was a better choice, and knowing that I would be back paying more for another procedure shortly, due to the nature of the injury. It feels dishonest. I will say that the building was clean and the staff was very friendly. That alone, however, is not enough to bring me back. read more

I'm really on the fence with this review. I've been taking my dog and rats to this veterinary hospital for the past 7 years. The staff is super friendly, compassionate, and personal--no complaints there! The facility has also gone through a major renovation this past year and the building looks fantastic. It's cozy, and the minute you step into their office you feel good about bringing your pet there. But here's the problem, it's pretty expensive. I don't expect veterinary bills to be cheap by any means, but you rarely leave this place with a bill under $200. Recently my dog needed surgery to get 3 corn cobs removed from his stomach. They wanted $1500-3000, which left us in tears. We called around, and found a few other places that only asked for half of that cost. Needless to say, we brought my dog to Parkview Animal Hospital. If Warren Woods had cheaper prices, or if I was more wealthy, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my pets back there, because I really liked the staff/facility. But unfortunately, we're BROKE! read more

This is such a wonderful place to take your pet. They were voted as the number one veterinarian in metro Detroit in the 2015 Click on Detroit's Vote 4 the Best contest, and it is a well deserved title. The staff at the front desk are super friendly and attentive, and everybody there strives to make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible. We have taken our pet cockatiel to this place for the past couple of years, and every experience has been a positive one. Our bird has extreme anxiety issues with going to the vet, and in the most recent visit, the staff immediately attended to his needs when he became distressed. If you are looking for a good veterinarian to take your pet in the metro Detroit area, this location is a no-brainer. We are very fortunate to have such a nice place to take our bird! read more

I really wish I could rate this with a four or five star, because all the people we met while at the clinic were very friendly and kind. Dr. C was a knowledgable and patient veterinarian, she stayed and answered all of our questions and I can tell she loves animals and loves her job. She gave our dog peanut butter after his vaccine which he loved, and she made the experience for our dog a little less stressful. The reason I am giving them 3 stars is a few: I am moving to another country and have to get an international health certificate for my dog to move with me. I spoke to people before our vet visit and was instructed to send all my dog's information to them ahead of time via email to make the process faster for our appointment. I did this, sending the certificate I used last year to them, as well as all of his vaccination information including rabies, his heart worm and flea and tick prevention, etc. Our appointment was set for 9:40 a.m. and we arrived to the clinic at 9:30. We didn't get called into an exam room until 10:00. It was clear that they hadn't filled out the certificate, or even opened all of my emails, as they asked me a lot of questions that I had already sent them the information to. We didn't leave the clinic until around 11:40, so it took around 2 hours. I'm not bothered by it taking so long, but I am bothered that they told me they would have it completed quickly and I thought they implied they would have it done and ready for us so that our appointment would go quickly, and I wouldn't have wasted my time sending them all of his documents if they weren't going to look at it until the day of his appointment. They also charged us incorrectly, so we paid on Monday after our appointment and then they called me later and said that they had charged me incorrectly and I would owe almost $40 more dollars when I went in the next day to pick up his certificate. Overall, I enjoyed working with the employees, they were quick at returning my calls and were friendly while we were at the clinic, but for the reasons I mentioned above I didn't feel comfortable giving them more stars. If you are just going in for an annual check up I'm sure they are fine, and they did complete the form correctly, I just found their professionalism and organization to be a little lacking. read more

First let me say the staff of ladies who help check you out are good. Friendly with a smile on their face. The 1star review is for the vet here a older guy forget his name. But I brought my German Shepherd who is not neutered and at the time he was a year and 4 months. I brought him for two reasons one he needed a shot 3 year rabies I believe, and he was going through growing pains. So we needed some anti inflammatory medicine to help him get thru it. Now anybody with a half of brain knows growing pains on large breeds especially GSD is painful for the dog any touch of his front limbs would send him screaming in pain. So this clown of a Vet after seeing my dog wouldn't let him touch his limbs or give him a shot cause he in pain decided it would be a smart idea to take my dog to the back have 3 to 4 people hold him down while he is in extreme pain and give him his shot. Why? Because he wanted to get his money for that shot. Instead of saying you know due to his growing pains he just isn't in a good state of mind to get his shot so let me get you the anti-inflammatory medicine and reschedule for his shot for a couple weeks later when he feeling better. So because of his greed or complete ignorance of dogs and how important their state of mind is my dog now freaks out when ever we stop somewhere in the car. He is fine the whole ride but as soon as we stop he freaks out because he associates the stopping with going to see this idiot and the pain he went thru that day. Then vet had the nerve to accuse my dog of having a behavioral problem and acted like the couple scratches he got from holding my dog down in the back was somehow my dogs fault. I started taking my dog out to the humane society in auburn hills and the vets there were shocked on what I told them and agreed he handled the situation totally wrong. The vets at the humane society have no issues giving my dog his shots or checking him out because he has grown out of his growing pains. So he never had a behavioral issue but rather a dumb Vet issue. I will never bring my dog or any other pets I might have back to this place. read more

This was my first visit to the practice. My husband had used them in the past based and based on his experience he suggested we go there. Our Bernese Mountain dog Oliver had cancer and we needed to make very tough decisions. Dr Cappel and her staff were kind, caring and very professional.Words cannot express our appreciation for the loving care they showed to us and our Oliver. Once we are lucky enough to get our next furry family member we plan to make their practice our home! If I could give 0 stars I would. This Animal Clinic is not equipped to handle large breed dogs. My 100lb puppy needed to have a cyst removed from his neck and he did not want to cooperate with the sheers so they decided to give him an anesthetic right there in the office room with us. They stuck him with a needle and told us to just watch him until he collapses. It was the most horrifying experience of my life. We had to watch him while he stumbled, bumped his head on the wall and eventually keeled over. He laid there on the cold floor with his tongue hanging out of his mouth looking lifeless. Then when it was time to wake him - which was too soon, but the practice was closing and the tech had to get to a "church function"...an assistant sat on the ground with him and gently rubbed and tapped on his head until he awoke. When he did he became hostile and vicious. He was scared out of his mind and even wanted to bite me. They had to drag him to my car while he was barking and growling. I love him to death, but I was scared to even drive home with him. We had to lock him in his cage when we got home until he slept it of. Thank God he went back to normal. We should have never gone back after that, but we did :( He then needed an x-ray because he hurt his leg running around. Most big tall dogs end up tearing an CCL at some point. He was scared of them so they put him under again and charged us over $300 for the xray. THEN they told us we had two different options for his surgery. Of course one of the options they did not offer so the doctor proceeded to tell us that it was gruesome and if it were her dog she wouldn't do it because of the horror stories. We took his x-rays to a different vet, chose the "gruesome" option (TPLO) and now our dog is in perfect health! Mind you it cost half of what Warren Woods wanted for the basic lesser surgery! read more

Great place to go for routine visits as well as emergency care visits. They have a professional but friendly staff from the time you arrive and throughout the office visit. I first starting going there because it was so close to home but their compassion and commitment toward the care of animals kept me going for the past 8 years. Sadly, I recently lost my last two pet companions however their compassion helped ease some of the pain. When we are ready for another pet companion we will certainly be returning to warren woods vet. read more

I can't complain about the care of my pets except I feel they really push you to get unnecessary things done. They wanted my cat to get all kinds of tests when if one test came back neg then the next one was unneeded, Things like that for example. They are caring with your pet, but making money seems to be their focus. They are EXPENSIVE!
