Martial Arts, karate, Kali, fight club, boot camp, TKD.. and much much more
    Crystal D.

My 4 yr old daughter and I have been attending Warrior Martial Arts for about a year now, and our experience has been nothing short of spectacular. The studio offers multiple classes including Taekwondo (TKD), Krav Maga, Kali, boxing etc... This variety has allowed us to explore different techniques and skills, keeping our training both challenging and very exciting! The instructors at Warrior Martial Arts are experienced and exceptional. They bring a ton of knowledge and experience to each class, and their teaching styles are both effective and engaging. They are patient, (so very patient- especially with the tiger classes, age 3 and up) encouraging, and always willing to go the extra mile! One aspect of our time here has been the sense of community. The studio fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone feels welcome. This has been especially important for my daughter, who has grown in confidence and discipline through her training. We both have flourishing relationships with the whole team! Personally, I have seen significant improvements in my fitness, self-defense skills, and overall well-being. My confidence level is @ 100! My daughter and I have also enjoyed the opportunity to bond over our shared interest in martial arts, making our time at the studio even more valuable. We are creating core memories, and I am so grateful I found Warrior Martial Arts. Thank you Mr. M, Mr. C, and Ms. Torres. We are Warriors!!

I originally got interested in boxing by trying out some workouts at 9-Round but I wanted to learn some better technique. Boy i didn't know how much I didn't know until I started at The Gym Boxing. Marty is an amazing guy - super friendly but incredibly knowledgeable. He has trained many professional athletes so he knows his stuff. He really focuses on technique and I feel I have learned a ton in the past year. I even had a one on one training session with him and it was awesome. The cardio classes here are fun and intense. They are definitely an awesome workout as I feel pretty spent after each session. There are people of all levels in the class and absolutely no judgement on beginners. There are many regulars that have been coming for years and everyone is very friendly. Overall if you are thinking about boxing or just getting in shape, I highly recommend The GYM Boxing as it has been awesome.

This is the only workout I've ever stuck out through…read more I've seriously tried it all. Zumba, yoga, Pilates, barre, even a general membership at LA Fitness. Nothing ever did it for me. I would go to the gym, complete my workout, and then dread the next time I'd have to do it again. I tried ClassPass at some point and that at least helped in the variety, but I never really felt home at the gym. I'm a total bookworm, never been a gym rat, but CKO Kickboxing may be showing me that you can be both and there's no shame in that. Originally I went to the CKO back south in Brickell. I was introduced to that gym thanks to Diandra L., the former Yelp community manager for Miami. She had somehow gotten CKO Brickell to give a group of us Yelpers a free class and I remember getting out of there sweating like a pig and somehow intrigued by the workout. I eventually reached out to CKO Brickell and did some classes, even getting a membership. Then I got injured, my office moved, and the location just was no longer convenient for me. To top it off, the pandemic made me lazy and it felt as if I would never work out again. Cue the pandemic making me rethink my life and moving up to Broward County, where I remembered there were more branches of CKO, and CKO Pembroke Pines just happens to be the closest one to me. It was late August. Or maybe early September? It was a Sunday. On a whim, I showed up at CKO Pembroke Pines. I remembered how much I loved CKO Brickell and I just had had it with being a couch potato. I showed up around 11 AM and got to meet Aiyana and Kani. I got some info from them and called later on in the week to set up the details for a free week of kickboxing classes. The day I finally went to my first class, it was at 6 AM. I really don't know what possessed me. I typically worked out evenings, but I opted for a change. Olga, who I later learned was the owner and she really is the sweetest thing, personally set me up with gloves and wraps. Kendrick was teaching that morning, a Wednesday. I remember getting out of there being shell shocked at how bent out of shape I literally was. I somehow made it my mission to get active. Specifically to be energized. There were days I wanted to give up, but I kept on pushing. Heck, there are days I still do feel that way. People seem to think I'm more athletic than I actually am. I'm not. I'm just determined to live a healthy lifestyle. Believe me when I tell you that I was that kid who detested running the mile, and more so, to this day I can only do a girly push-up. Despite these shortcomings, I've never once felt judged for them at this gym. Each and every person I've met has been downright lovely. It's a family, tried and true. When I've been out for some time, I get asked out why, and funnier still, I've gotten to the point of telling them beforehand. It's so nice to be part of a community that remembers your birthday, spontaneously congratulates you on your 100th class, and actually is happy for you when you vacation. Honestly I'm thrilled to be part of CKO Pembroke Pines. It's no longer a pain to work out. I look forward to it now even. I recommend you heavily trying them out. What started out as a hope has become a dream. I am a little Energizer Bunny now. That and while I may never be an Olympian, I feel faster and stronger. That in itself has made all the difference.

Tucked in a small Publix plaza, Tapout Fitness offers premiere martial-arts infused workouts with highly trained coaches and trainers. If the name Tapout sounds familiar, it's because Tapout Fitness is an extension of the Tapout clothing brand, that officially sponsors combat sport fighters in UFC and WWE. Personally, as a lover of MMA and UFC, I was immediately impressed. Unlike other kickboxing/boxing style gyms, Tapout Fitness is truly focused on teaching proper techniques of each fighting style. Each trainer has extensive martial arts experience and tailor makes workouts that professional fighters practice with all the time. Some workouts are fully focused on kickboxing combinations and techniques, while others also include resistance and interval training exercises with battle ropes and kettle bells. So regardless of your fitness level, you're still getting an amazing workout. On the days I feel like going solo and working at my own pace, I really enjoy the Tapout 20 circuit workouts. Although, they're promoted like a 20 minute workout, I usually triple it for an extra sweat factor. Tapout Fitness literally fulfills everything I ever wanted in a gym and I couldn't recommend it more! I love it here!

What I love most about the atmosphere is that you don't have to be anything but yourself and you don't have to be a fitness expert. There are so many different fitness levels, ages and backgrounds of people that are working on themselves for their own reasons and goals. I enjoy how each session is different from the last and the class sizes are just perfect; some days there are 2/3 of us and other times a group of 10/11.
