I never had issues with the fish quality every time I go here, great customer service and ambiance. I am obsessed with the Uni (sea urchin) they ship in and hope they offer a special one day like Uni Don with Ikura or wagyu with Uni nigiri. I'll definitely pay for that quality and experience. Wasabi was so good - inside is so cool too! Not one of the prettiest outside the building but all that changes when you get inside. Tons of parking and right next to a great froyo place in town. They had a happy hour from 5-6 that we took advantage of . Deals on apps , hand rolls and drinks! The sushi was fresh and beer was cold. This restraint constantly amazes with its food, service, and ambiance. Some of my personal favorite foods are the rainbow roll, katsudan, fire bird (not only great prsentation but wonderful taste), j-bomb, and green tea. Very good sushi. We have been struggling to find a good sushi place since moving here a year ago. But I hope we finally found a place. The bad part.. we live in Meridian. I am pregnant so we got 2 deep fried rolls and then we got the fire bird. Which I also ate but I just took the smoked salmon off the top. Our deep fried rolls were the tempura Philly and tempura spicy tuna. Both were seriously so good. They came out hot and tasted wonderful and for a good price. The fire bird was probably the best out of the 3 but I would get all 3 again. It had a wonderful flavor to it that came from having the fire on the outside. And everything went together very nice. The 1 downside to our visit was we were there right when it opened and so our waitress was busy preparing things for the day. She seemed a little annoyed when we asked for things like spicy mayo and eel sauce. We would be asking for something as she would walk away from the table. It also took a while to get our miso soup. I feel like she got a little more "perky" as we were done but otherwise we just felt like we were a bother. We will for sure be back, while I am pregnant but for sure after I give birth so I can be open to more rolls!! I hope it continues to live up to the yummy rolls we had today. read more

Wasabi has been one of our favorite Japanese restaurants Their quality is consistent, waitstaff friendly and efficient. I like their sushi and my partner, who prefers cooked food, really enjoys their teriyaki plates. HOWEVER, tonight for the first time, we did takeout ( not delivery - we drove there to pick it up) and were very disappointed to find they added a 10% tip to all takeout orders. Just 2 dinners, nothing special, that we waited 30 minutes for after a 1 minute phone call to place the order. I prefer to decide my own tip, especially for take out. Avocado complimented the tuna, yellowtail, red snapper, and white fish. Thin strips of cucumber and seaweed freshened the tastes. It was delightful and beautifully presented. They served the mussels on a bed of daikon with ponzu sauce. I eat with all of my senses and such beauty for the eyes makes the meal more special as it hits my tastebuds. I decided to start off my food adventures in Boise with Wasabi, as I tend to get a lot of deliveries from the location. The location itself is quite nice with low lighting and some interesting decor. Because I came in at 11:00am sharp, I was able to be seated quickly and placed my order within minutes. While I am aware of occasional delays during peak hours, the staff were more than friendly. As I came in during the lunch hour, I decided upon the "Katsu Curry with Rice", rather then Sushi. The order took roughly 10 minutes to prepare, and was presented well. The Katsu itself was crispy on the outside and delicious, while the curry was well seasoned and contained a satisfactory level of spice. Unfortunately, the rice seemed to be quite on the dry side, and while it eventually softened with the addition of the curry, it wasn't the best showing of restaurant quality rice. Regardless, the dish itself was worth the $14 price tag, even though I would probably try something different on the menu in the future. Overall, I would rate my experience at Wasabi at a 4.5/5 and would definitely recommend it as one of the best Japanese restaurants here in Boise. I look forward to returning for a dinner service. read more

This is the best sushi I've had in Boise, bar none. We had the special "Seafood Volcano" appetizer and the "Fire-Bird" sushi roll. The appetizer was mussels and scallops with a delicious sauce. This is now our go-to sushi place. As transplants from California, we have missed good sushi dearly. Wasabi nails it on all fronts- creative rolls, very fresh fish and downright dynamite sushi. My only two wishes: 1. they would offer real crab as an up charge option as we don't eat imitation crab. 2. A brown rice option would also be nice for the sushi rolls. read more
