A tiny piece of CA roll that I actually saved for midnight snack and edamame. YUMMY!
    Liz A.

I have NEVER been so excited to write a review in my entire life! OK so it was like 8:15 pm and I decided I had to have this sushi burrito thing that I saw on the TikTok. That's right the TikTok... I'm not embarrassed to say it. Order it through GrubHub and I had like 10 minutes left to get my order in. I'm not really wanting to order things online because it's just expensive. Sorry GrubHub. Anyways... My food arrived by the door. Picture... Me running to my bedroom with my bag of goodies. I was skeptical, of course. Who's ever had sushi burrito before in Idaho?! I took one bite...ONE BITE...I instantly fell in love with whomever made it. It's the California roll and I asked for extra cream cheese, daikon and lemon. My taste buds are still dancing and won't shut up about it! ! An explosion of flavors that I haven't had in any sushi place here in Boise! I'm not kidding not one bit. I also ordered the edamame and wontons which were both good...I think...ummmm my brain keeps going back to that burrito. So it's a gigantic sushi adventure filled to the rim with what you ordered, unlike a regular normal tiny itsy bitsy roll. Are you picturing this?? Can you feel and taste the happiness? No? You better hurry up and go there. I mean...HURRY UP LIKE NOW! You don't want to take the risk that I ordered a few more from them and they ran out! THANKS GUYS! Can't wait to come in to visit you and order in person! Absolutely fantastic. Order how I ordered it....SOOOOOOO GOOOOOD! Ok bye.

Dirty wall with old food on it. You can't even see the worst of it.

I'd say this is no more than mall quality food. We got the Katsu platter and Teriyaki burrito. We wouldn't bother coming back. The music holds the record for the worst restaurant music. The restaurant has a dirty feel to it. The wall next to our table has old dried splattered food on it. It's like nothing here is ever deep cleaned.

    Poke bowl with everything!

Holy cow! Talk about a bowl bursting with flavor! I had no idea what to expect and was pleasantly surprised. Since I've never been here before, the young lady behind the counter, Seagull, suggested I try the poke bowl. I asked her to make it the way that she would if it was for her. She asked if I had any allergies or if there was anything specific that I don't like. She started with a layer of white rice, then chunks of tuna and salmon. Next, mango, jalapeño, edamame, cucumber, ginger and onion. Topped with ground seaweed and sesame seeds. Finished off with spicy mayo sauce and one more sauce. This is a great little find with good food, excellent service and a cute atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Very good food, reasonable price. Service is fine, dining experience is below average with canned drinks and no plates or actual silverware.

Our water cups didn't even have the chance to get to empty and we never waited around wishing someone would ask if we needed anything. The service was great. I would love to tell you the food was equally as amazing but it was definitely a miss for our tastebuds. My husband and I both ordered the Kinya Ramen, and for something that is meant to be a signature dish, it unfortunately lacked cohesiveness. Now I'm not saying it didn't have flavor, because there were many flavors in the ramen. The problem is that they didn't work together. The umami flavor you typically find in a rich pork broth was missing. Almost as if the ramen ingredients were sitting in a water mixed with a bit of garlic oil and nothing else. The chasu was tough to chew and the egg was cooked perfectly but had an almost vinegar-like bite to it. The gyoza was just okay. We also ordered sesame balls that were overcooked. We really wanted to love it here. On the bright side, the location was clean and our waitress was very attentive.

I come here several times per year because I love the vibe, chefs, service and food. Reservations are a must if you want timely seating and less wait...and ensure your entire party is with you prior to your reservation time. My most recent visit was to celebrate my birthday, though I didn't tell them that for fear of the extra attention. I know some people love that, but it's not my thing. Our service was incredible from start to finish...prompt and expertly timed food drop-off, pick-up and drink refills. We started with the Gyoza. The Gyoza was fresh, hearty and steamed with those amazing crispy brown seams. The sauce was delicious as well. Those were gone in maybe 3 minutes. Next came the miso soup, which was a slightly seasoned broth soup. A nice compliment to the salad, drizzled with a thousand island-like dressing and crisp lettuce. Next our hibachi chef Herman appeared with our cart full of meats, veggies and eggs. He crafted the most fun, hilarious and DELICIOUS meal I've ever had there. I ordered the chicken and shrimp, hubby had the chicken and filet. The steak was cooked medium rare and nicely seasoned. Each piece of chicken or shrimp was seasoned, sauced and buttered to perfectly plump. The fried rice was delicious! Literally, every bite of rice, meat and veggies just sang. We couldn't stop raving about our experience and I was actually sad to see Herman leave instead of sitting down to join us.

Our server, MJ, did a really great job taking care of us. She was nice, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our daughter had the Unicorn sushi roll with a side of edamame, my wife had a bowl of clam chowder and the shrimp scampi, and I had the fish and chips (cod; they also offer salmon and halibut, but the halibut, which I would have liked, was double the price at $38). For dessert, we shared the key lime pie. My wife said the clam chowder was OK, but more potatoes than clams. She did like her scampi. Our daughter liked the sushi roll. And, I liked the beer battered cod with the tartar sauce, and their fries were nicely seasoned and fairly crispy ( a little crispier would have been nice). The key lime pie had a rougher texture; I like it more creamy. Still good, though. I liked the exterior of the building. Red brick, arched windows that have a Mediterranean feel, and an exterior staircase that gives a bit of an industrial vibe. I thought it would be a little more upscale inside, but it is more basic wood tables and booths. There is a patio area, and it looks like there is an upstairs patio or dining area as well. All in all, a good first experience. We will definitely return.
