This was a review that I took too long to write! But definitely this place deserves a top notch 5/5 or even 10/10. I came to this place on October 24th and it just so happened while I was going to pick out a dress for home coming my bike got flat. I originally went to a different bike place that offered to fix my bike for a much higher price, and it would be finished by tomorrow, I was defeated and decided to call some elsewhere. Then I found Wasatch Touring and I was able to get my bike fixed for a cheaper price and it was done very quickly! And so far the bike had been amazing! Thank you guys! read more

Wasatch Touring is a perfect spot for buying mountain biking gear in the summer and ski/snowboard gear in the winter. They also have a few fun items for the outdoors outside of those activities but mostly expect skiing and mountain biking gear. If you need a specialized team to work on your mountain bike, this is the place to go. You'll be paying a pretty penny but with all the specialized components on a mountain bike, you might decide it's well worth paying someone to do it for you rather than trying to do it yourself, and with how expensive mountain bikes can be, I wouldn't want to take it just anywhere. The staff is super knowledgeable and they've always been able to answer any question that I have had without judgement. So don't be scared, check this place out! read more

Wanted to try out mountain biking , so rented a bike weeks ago, well a storm moved in and they wouldn't let me change the day of rental, saying it's not possible for them to give me a credit for another day. Just lost out on a future customer. Treat your customers better!!! read more

I have had mixed experiences at Wasatch Touring over the past 30 years. Mostly on the not so stellar. Today was an example as to why I can not and will not recommend them to anyone. During their recent sale I bought a $300 item but before purchasing it specifically asked a sales person about returning it as I was buying it for my spouse and was not absolutely sure that it was going to work for them. Unfortunately, it did not. Two days latter I went back to the store to return it, expecting a full refund. The sales person working that day said it was a sale item and only eligible for store credit. I firmly said I would not except that, only a full return and explained that I specifically asked about returns before the purchase and was not told it would be credit only. Had I been told I would only get store credit I would have brought my spouse to the store along with comparisons before purchasing. The sales person said it was on the receipt (which one gets only after the purchase) and basically refused until I finally said that I would dispute the charge. After finally agreeing to do a refund, the clerk started to berate me and basically asked me not to come back. I definitely will not. And recommend others do the same, shop elsewhere. read more

We rented an inflatable kayak from here! We were visiting from out of town and wanted to go kayaking somewhere but we didn't know where! They recommended the beautiful lake jordanelle. It was amazing, and their equipment was perfect for what we needed! All for a very affordable price. read more

If you get your skis mounted at Wasatch touring don't expect to get them back for 5 days. I was told my skis were going to be done on Friday and when I went to pick them up on Saturday they weren't ready. why weren't they ready? well because the tech decided not to pick up the phone when he had a question about my skis and just wait for me to drive down there. when I was told that they would be ready early Monday I headed back down there again foolishly thinking that they would be ready at 2pm and surprise surprise they weren't I had to wait another hour. When it cam time to pay I explained to the cashier that I didn't think $50 was fair for such poor customer service he got in my face and told me too bad that's how we roll brah! Ill will never be going back for overpriced extremely poor customer service read more

Great experience renting a mountain bike. Very courteous staff who discussed several trail options, provide maps & advice. Pricing was fair and didn't charge me for the second day since I returned when they opened. Recommended for any out-of-towers to rent here. read more

Wasatch Touring - Bikes Near Me - Salt Lake City, Utah

Have had 1 decent experience with them and the rest have been not great. One example: for some reason the owner tells a story to an employee, with me standing there, about how he didn't comp a rental fee to a women who just bought a ski package. Nice! Won't budge on pricing so you just have to wait until they are desperate enough to have a sale and get it for the price you want. If their customer service was outstanding they could justify the premium but sadly it's not. Note to business: if you give a 35% discount people might actually buy and then you won't have to have a 50% off sale. Just hard to support a local business run by someone you can't trust or thinks that because they are local they shouldn't have to compete with the global market. read more

Wasatch Touring had the products that I was looking for - however, their staff ranged from helpful to "hold me down as my ego will carry me away". A business should be honest and up-front, and I felt that if the staff didn't know the answer, they tried talking around it. Come on - be upfront and honest... it is not like we are going to look down on you! Granted, they had what I wanted; I felt extremely rushed to picked the items and purchase right away... almost like the wanted to close early for the day. Great place to go - but know what you want, get it, and get out. Prices on some items were a little high, such as PFDs. read more

I had a great experience renting a mountain bike from them this weekend. They set me up with a new full suspension $3,000+ bike and set it to my weight and showed me how to get the front wheel off so I could get it in the trunk. I was still in and out w/ in 15 minutes. Called around to a few shops and this is one of the few places that had 4 rental mountain bikes for our group. The bikes were ok, Specialized Stumpjumper full suspension. They were a bit heavy but were mechanically sound. The guys at the shop were great, offering advice on which trails to ride and they even supplied us with a map, helmets, and a rack for the car. They also allowed us to pick the bikes up Friday afternoon for our ride on Saturday. read more

Love these guys, I have been in there 3-4 dozen times and have found the staff to be friendly and willing to help. Especially Ryan and Dylan they were instrumental in helping me buy a new bike and went out of there way to help me build a bike for my wife. They are always accommodating, for example I dropped my bike off for a tune and some other adjustments on a Thursday and the guy said they would have it ready Monday which was initially no big deal because the weather was going to suck anyways but Friday afternoon I checked the weather and the forecast had changed I called them up and explained the situation and my desire to ride that weekend and they got my bike done 2 hours later and I had an excellent weekend thanks to them. I could tell 5 or 6 stories just like that one they are seriously awesome! read more

I rented a road bike from these guys while in SLC and am very impressed by their friendly customer service! They were very helpful in helping me figure out a challenging but scenic route and in adjusting the bike to fit me perfectly.
