This may be a nice place but not worth coming. The old lady is all up on your business looking to see what kind of clothes you come to clean. She literally put her hands in my husband's clothes and ask what is all that come from. Is that dirt and oil from the oil field? I told her no, my husband works in construction. She then went on to tell me well we have a different washer for that. I told her I didn't need a different washer for plain dirt and some mud. They then proceeded to see how much laundry soap I was going to use and not to over fill. I felt like I had my stepmother looking over me telling me how laundry is done. I then asked if I could borrow the bathroom and they refused to lend it to me. They went on to say that due to other customers inappropriate behavior that no one else was allowed to use the bathrooms. I told her it was sad that she would judge everyone due to other behavior. This lady acted so prejudice against us from the moment we walked in the door. Feeling so heartbroken that this type of behavior still goes on in this day and time. Lastly as I sat down to wait for the wash to complete I took my phone out to look and read my emails to make the time worth while. It appears that the multiple comments about this [rude lady] are accurate. I solicited the assistance of her staff, and this individual wasn't pleasant to deal with. I just needed a few dimes and nickels changed out. She just took it from me when I tried to count it out on a table. I wanted to count it in front of her, and then she count it for herself so that both parties affirm the amount and thus a good exchange. I guess the boss establishes the culture. The last laundromat I used to go to was dirty, machines were dirty, and there was never any employees around. My uniforms had been stolen there and their cameras weren't working. However, THIS PLACE: CLEAN!!! There are also attendants there at all times. They have working cameras, too! I feel safe here. Wash Pot is THE BEST LAUNDROMAT in San Angelo, HANDS DOWN. One star only because it is very clean. Other than that I would not recommend. The older lady who works here is very rude. The first time I came she got really ugly with me because I didn't know they have specific machines for dog beds. (Which I think is fantastic!). But you can educate new customers with out yelling and belittling them. Then I heard her "training" a younger lady and gossiping about me. And not quietly! She was rolling her eyes at me and just being nasty! For the prices they are charging you would think they would want to keep customers. Also they have no sinks for you to use to wash your hands or the soap cups out with. I decided to give them another shot today just thinking I caught her on a bad day but....NOPE! She's just a miserable old bitty. She started bossing me around when I got there even though this time I knew what to do. I however didn't realize their change machines doesn't take $20. Let me tell you, the bad reviews on here are totally wrong! My daughters were on the way back to college and one had a terrible car accident! With her vehicle rolling over multiple times all of her belongs were thrown from her truck and being a college female student we had 11 loads of laundry to do. Mrs. Charolette was so caring and helpful, because it was so much and we had only a little time to get it done, my other daughter and I did it ourselves. However, Mrs. Charolette jumped right in with us and help clean a blood stain from my daughter, who was in the accident, shoes! She offered advice to save money and time, she cared for my family as if it were her own. I recognized right away that she cared for her business and equipment. I will say she is rightfully protective of her family owned small business equipment and she won't put up with deceptive or unpleasant behavior! I respect and admire the way she handles herself and her business. I had the pleasure to spend a few hours with her and I left with clean clothes and a full heart! I've been everywhere in San Angelo and have yet to find another self-service cleaners as good as this one. Place is super clean, plenty of washers and dryers to choose from. Washers range from 2.00-6.00. The washers are single, double, triple, and one maxi load that can handle 4-5loads in one wash. The dryers are a little old fashioned but get the job done just as good as any new ones. They have central air conditioning, restroom, plenty of rolling washing carts, and a person on stand by to help with any needs. I will definitely be coming back here to do laundry. WARNING! I went online and found this laundry mat this morning gave them a call to ask if they did wash and fold service, they said yes I said great I proceeded over there. it is a nice laundry mat. Nice looking machines store is clean. 1 week of general laundry to drop off for was and fold and I think in that was 5 bottom down shirts 2 pair of jeans 2 towels sock and underwear for the week. pricing not posted did not think much about it nor did I ask. Boy did I get a surprise! this usually coast 15 to 18 dollars they changed me 30.00 for this little bit of laundry. I can't imagine leaving a review for a laundromat, but the lady working there really was horrible. I looked over and saw someone with the drier I was using open and going through my clothes. I asked her, pleasantly, if I could help her and instead of being friendly and telling me she was the owner and she thought there was something bouncing around in the drier and she was trying to help me out, she was rude and horrible. She wouldn't even acknowledge that it was strange to see someone you don't know rifling through your laundry. Also, the driers didn't seem to be very hot, even on high. I have missed the ladies at The Wash Pot during the lockdown. I've done laundry here since 2012 and it has been by far the cleanest, best serviced in San Angelo. I took my laundry in to be washed, dried and folded when I couldn't and have never been disappointed. Some have complained about the ladies being rude but I wonder if they've ever done laundry service? It's a hot repetitive job, standing all day, listening to ungrateful people complain. I just moved into town and don't have a washer & dryer yet so i looked up a couple of places on yelp. This one was near by so i packed up my stuff & headed over. Upon arriving it was very clean, cleaner than the majority of laundry mats I've been to. However, the women who work here are not nice at all. While loading the washer i noticed they kept looking over and staring. Didn't understand why, until later when another woman came in to do laundry and they all started clucking like chickens with the local gossip. I wouldnt have even known that these two women worked there until i noticed a customer come in and pick up laundry from them. I decided to not let the gossiping hens bother me and decided to swing by on a weekday. I shouldve checked the hours before i headed over but i didnt. As i grabbed my basket from my car i noticed a younger woman inside. She looked at me and just shook her head no as she walked out of sight. As i went to open the door, i realized what she was shaking her head at. She had already locked the doors and was cleaning up for the night. She didn't even have the decency to open the door & let me know they were closing in 30 mins. I've lived in larger cities than San Angelo. First thing first. I do know what some of these review are talking about with the ladies hen gossiping but if you don't mind that then you will be fine. Besides they are just a few ladies that have no other entertainment than to speak about what they see, hear, and do. I get it and don't blame them. Also if you show them in a nice way that it doesn't bother you they will just as well will stop. It's mostly to see if they can get a reaction out of you. Remember gossiping is what they do and thrive on. Now second thing is they are ladies if you are a man and want to do your laundry there then be respectful to them regardless of what they say or do. If you are a lady then look to see what they are talking about. You might see something super funny and get a kick out of it. Just try to not get your panties or underwear all notted up in a wad. It's not cool and you might just make their gossip list even more exciting. Third and foremost this establishment is a laundromat and it's owned by someone else who doesn't have to have you as a customer. If you don't like what you hear then you can always go somewhere else. The owner refused to refund or rerun my laundry after the machine malfunctioned and would not start. I still washed my load of laundry. All I wanted was the extra $3 the machine ate. Decided to try this place since the machines seemed clean. Was in the place for about five minutes, walking around surveying the different machines when the older woman working, the owner, asked if I needed help. I simply said nope. As I was walking back to my laundry, the owner started walking around mocking "nope, nope, nope" saying she ain't in the mood today. I'd avoid this business since it is run by a 95 year old child. Pretty expensive place to be acting like that I'd say. There are better places to spend your money. We have been using the Wash Pot for 15 years for ranch and personal use. After reading the one or two negative reviews I fell compelled to write a review in defense of the owners of the Wash Pot and shed light on why they do what they do. This is a family run laundry. They take pride in their business, keep a very clean environment and keep their machines in great shape. They have recently replaced and upgraded all of their machines. The owner or staff is always there to keep the place clean, safe and police the use of machines. San Angelo has many oil field workers. Oil soaked clothes is bad for machines and the next person using the machine will have soiled clothes. They watch for this and police it. They have machines dedicated only to oil field clothes. So just ask for them. I guess some folks are used to laundromats where owners are not present, don't care about their machines, leave the place trashy and dirty. The Wash Pot is NOT one of those places. So I don't blame the owners for policing and not putting up with folks who don't respect their machines and their rules. read more

Dynamite washeteria with several types of washer-load capacities. The facilities are clean, quiet, and safe and the owner is always there to help or answer any laundry questions you may have. They are located right off the ASU campus, smack in the middle of town, and have a change machine and a Coke machine. They have three banks of chairs, but I never have had an issue finding a seat. The Wash Pot uses heavy-duty frontload Dexter washers. Washer prices for the ones we use--the double and triple loads-- are $3 and $6, while dryer prices are .25 for eight minutes--their dryers are huge and efficient. My only wish is that they had wifi, but it's a stretch. read more

The washers and whole place are spotless!! But BEWARE the owner and the other older gray hair lady are VERY rude and prejudice. The owner here, an older lady was so exceptionally rude! She yelled at me in front of other customers telling me that I was doing my laundry wrong (which I was not), physically pushed my boyfriend, yelling at him that he was over-filling the washer when he was not, yelled at me to not "roll my eyes at her" which I did not because I am an adult 24 year old and not 6, and told us that if we didn't like this then we should go down the street! This place is great! Seriously cannot stress enough how good of a review they deserve. Washing machines are $3.00 for a double load, $4.00 for a triple and $6.00 for a 4-5 load. Dryers are $.25 for 8 minutes but best part is great staff on service, super clean building and machines, 2 super washers in the back that do like 8 loads and a clean bathroom. Even have a change machine which I don't understand why most laundromat don't have them nowadays. read more

Just what I was looking for, a laundromat to clean my comforter! They had the necessary machines and a very friendly helpful staff.

clean machines but dirty nasty attitude with the owner, grey hair woman. i learned my lesson last year about spending time and money within this laundry facilities. had several encounters with on duty staff. needless to say, i frequent the car wash next door, change machine encourages one to use the machine inside the laundry. i proceded inside to get change for the vacumm and other misc, coin machine would not accept my $5. the grey hair approached me for help, before handing me my change, she interrogated me as too my business. i then stated i need this change for the car wash, she abrutly said, you cant wash your car..its about to rain!! yes lady, im about to do as i plz with my coins, she followed me out the back door, stating she wanted to watch me wash my vehicle. who does that?? totally felt victimized and harrassed by this crazy ding bat!! never will i spend money at this laundry nor the car wash next door!! #shebehavesliketrump read more
